Giants and QC Kings Update: Giants scored 200 and in response QC Kings were all out for 85ish.

Peoria won vs Jaguars. I think Peoria scored 169 and in reply Jags had a batting collapse and I heard few decision went against them. Nonetheless Peoria showed the heart of a #1 team and played like champions.

St. Louis Kutis crushed Pak Gymkhana.

Giants vs Winner of Evanston/Advancers
Peoria vs Winner of CCI/IIT

Well done Giants. Showed QC Kings where they belong. I always believed they were over rated. Did not get chance to prove it as they were winning their games all the time. Luck never favors all the time. I did like their resolve to win though.

Also, QC Kings is the only team from top 4 that did not make it to Semi Finals. What does that tell us?

Its tells us that cricket is unpredictable any one can win against any one in playoffs QC kings is good team otherwise they wouldn't have done so well during season In playoffs there is always a x factor of nerves a team that holds the nerves better, wins Best team Won leave at that and that does not take away any credit from QC kings for their wins during regular season. Desi cricketer don't know which team you play for but try doing it and let use how easy it is please? Giants lost to CCI what does that tells us well with all due respect please learn the inequalities of cricket or just don't blabber what comes to your head

This defeat for sure hurt us .. but it is only going to strengthen our resolve to come back stronger.

We are happy with our performance overall this year and did met all our goals except for one (winning a playoff game).

We wanted to win as many matches possible and especially away games. We did exceptionally good during regular season.

Remember, our only loss in the regular season is against Eagles
(35 over game) which is a very good team. Except for a brilliant innings from Krk Mohan we were always in the game till the end.

We played Chicago Giants this year in Peoria. We know that they are a good bowling team and how important it is to get Yasin out early. We did play well except for some dropped chances otherwise result would have been different.

Coming to playoffs, we won the toss (which we lost 90% this year). We are a better bowling side and prefer to bowl first and restrict the oppostion under 170 which is gettable always.

We did that almost except for a brilliant innings from Yasin and a dropped catch of Asim which have costed another 30+ runs.

But that is it. The swing that Giants bowlers got was phenomenal and which was not there in the tie match (Mossville,Peoria) totally undid all the good we did this year.

Overall we felt with that much of swing chasing 120 itself is a big task. We got allout for 80 odd runs.

To say that we are overrated is not over mistake, it is yours who keep following other's games instead of yours. No offence just a friendly talk.

Now you say we are not good in away games. We won all our away matches (ouit of 5, we won four and one tie). Look at other teams and tell me who has better record than this ? Chicago Giants didn't have a good record either.

Remeber, if a game is a home match for one team then it will be away match for other team.

Thats it from me and All the best to the semi-finalists and see you next year.

GoodBye,
Satish

Thanks for the heads up Look into your soul. I will keep your suggestion in consideration. I know being nice to teams go a long way, hopefully we all can play cricket in good spirits and not have a repeat of any of the incidents that took place this year, in the following years. I hope and sincerely feel that the Management will take charge of all things, and if Rogers Park is found guilty of any wrong doing, I know and hope that they will not discriminate.
As far as being nice to teams is concerned, I hope everyone is nice to everyone else and play cricket in the best spirits. It is easy to be gracious and respectful in victory, it is how you conduct yourself when losing that reflects character.
RPCC has lost games against Phoenix, Royals, St.Louis, Purdue and Milwaukee Cricket Club this year. I assure you that we played all games with ethics and have been gracious in our defeats and victories alike. I hope teams will agree. Good Luck Next Year to Everyone, I sincerely hope things will be better....

best fix is going into the home teams den and winning that is the way to go that will tell lot a about a team see come playoffs no advantage for home team like qckings try travelling for 3 hours from chicago to home teams ground current set up is advantages to chicago teams as they play and know the conditions its definitely a big learning curve for away teams until we change those rules it will take lot for away teams to win mcc cup enjoy as you can see no away team has won mcc cup while advantage is still yours things might change you never know if you lower seed you get to travel may that will motivated teams more I guess giants couldn't win CCI what r they gonna win in Qc kigns home ground

Tonald Drump said...

QC Kings has nothing to be ashamed about. They are the #2 seed. I don't care which ground they play on or whatever the condition maybe. This team is in 2nd or third year and have accomplished things many teams dream about. Just this year they were much improved from last year and I bet you anything. They will be even better in 2008.

They have Integrity, Discipline and Passion. Team like this will always be competitive threat.

I agree with Tonald...QC kings is a good team...so is Giants..I have seen them both in action in Peoria...One game loss should not blotch the entire hard work of a season...Its ain't easy to top Season standings...It take lots focus and luck..staying away from injuries..I am sure QC kings will come next year as a better team...Good luck to QC kigns and Congrats to Giants!

I do agree that travelling to Chicago does takes away littel bit of energy of the visiting team..that gives slight advantage to the home team...It does take little bit extra for home teams to pull of games in Chicago land by away teams...

Are you going to make it to watch the playoffs

Ramsundar Lakshminarayanan said...

Shekhs, sorry to hear about your loss. Please accept my condolences.

Madew - If you happen to miss your exit to WP, make sure you don't get onto 31st street exit on Dan Ryan. Bridgeport area to Indiana Avenue, 26th down to 35th street are heavily mined. You don't want any flat tires dude :)

It will be a cracker of a game.

Rup said...

Madhu
I also heard they set them flashing blue lights to pick up any Peoria plates..
You may get pulled over for trespassing so i suggets you take 80 in and come from the south side. as bad as that sounds

Shekhs said...

Rup,
yeah, I'll out there to watch the games...lets coordinate..will call ya.

Ram,
Thanks machi...appreciate the support... :-)

Madew said...

Rup..I will take the hint and will take care...Donno about these IIT university boys always up to something...:)

Cheers

Madew said...

Ram Yes sir! We thought we were gonna be late for the last game as there a big accident on 55/90-94 junction..Luckily it cleared up and we could take 47 th exit and get on Garfield..Its not a good feeling to be stuck in traffic before a game...Especially for Peoria boys who are not use to it..:)

Cheers
M

Ramsundar Lakshminarayanan said...

Rumor has it that IIT guys are mining 47th street exit as well :)

Rup said...

Madhu,
Why don't you guys take 80 east to 57 north. 57 runs right into 90/94 west by 95th street. Take 90/94 west to Chicago/Madison. Exit on Garfield (you may want to exit before on 59th in case Garfiled closed).
This should be the fastest and easiest way due to all the constructions going on.
See you at the park on Saturday.
