Have u guys following the developments aftermath of ICL..man..its getting more and more murkier and interesting..Salaries for cricketers (domestic) have gone up (best part)..now BCCI is proposing a new league..with each state teams..:) Looks like fear of competition make people think it appears...Looks ICL is good for sport of cricket in India..:)
The intresting part is Sunil Gavaskar is supposedly leading that initiative for BCCI. So now the 2 guys (Kapil & Sunil) who allways had a friction filled relationship will be at each other again...
I guess..Kapil can 'swing' it for ICL and I guess..Sunil Gavaskar can play 'Giddu' innings for BCCI.. Who WINS? Well its Game of Cricket and all the guys who play the it..:) What ever it is..Cricket in India is is getting some getting some good make over and not to forget some good remuneration for playing it for Gods sake..atlast:) Atleast parents will encourage their kids..to play cricket instead of quitting it high school to take board exams..:) I am keeping eye on all the latest developments there..:) Very interesting...
Is Game between QC kings and Giants in Chicago Washington park? can Cover Drive or QC kings guys confirm...That will be a great game to watch on Saturday too..:)
Wishing all teams good luck this weekend..! I hope rain is gonna stay off..
QC Game's venue is still a big mystery. It was supposed to be played in Moline, then we were told that it will be played in Washington Park. As QC Kings has requested this WP venue to gain some real time practice for the playoff. Now we are hearing that it's back to Moline or possibly moving to Saturday in WP.
Gosh dangit I just wanna play some ball and know where I have to be. Is it too much to ask. :(
As far as Chicago Giants and QC Kings game is concerned, Tonald is right. It's still a mystery.
We got a request from the management 2 months back to move the game to Chicago from Moline. We were told that the request is from the opponent team. We accepted the reasons told to us as genuine and promptly agreed ( with a condition ) that the game be played on Washington Park on 26th August.
Now it looks like game will be played in Moline as scheduled (too bad we cannot get match practice on WP). Saturday is out of question because some of our guys already have plans that day.
That's all the update I have so far. Hoping to receive that mystery solving phone call or an email soooon.
Predictions for week#17 in Div 1. 1.Purdue-Wildcats.( Wildcats can win this one easily after going towards the losing strecth can they pull a win against the bench of purdue. I think they will). 2.St.louis-Royals.( St.louis in a easy win). 3.MUCC-Pak gym.(pak will win it easily if their is no rain). 4.Muslim gym-Phoenix.( good game both teams will have to fight for their playoff spot but i will pick muslim to win this one). 5.Capitol-Flames.(Capitol have to win this game otherwise they will go back to div 2 but i will pick flames for this one cuz i dont want capitol in div 1.One less traveling trip but maybe we will get peoria in div 1 which i don't want either cuz of traveling sorry madhu i dont wanna see u in div 1. But is not in my hand it is in your own hand people from sprinfield & peoria). 6.Chargers-AAA.(chargers in this one). 7.Rogerspark-United.(after losing to phoenix last week i think rogerspark is no match for united doesn't matter if mehul is playing or not united is too good for rogerspark).
Hi Guys, it's been a while. Too much going on at work. All the elements of a bollywood movie. Intrigue...fights...emotions etc. Anyways this ICL and BCCI feud has taken many a interesting twist. I am really glad the hyd players did it with a bang. World needed to know how the familygiri is affecting hyd cricket. Shiv is secy HCA his brother Rajesh was coach of hyd ranji team and is now a BCCI observer. ( that really is the biggest joke ) His son Arjun is the captain of hyd and is now playing for Ind A and to top it all Rajesh's son Yuveraj who is a standby in under 19's will now be playing for the senior hyd team. And Arjun has been getting these wild chances inspite of his performances and with good players like Rayudu and Ravi Teja left behind. Madhu, I dont know if you played with Rajesh. But thinking about him being what he is now makes me throw up. Now that everything is open I fear a little for Raudu and co beacuse of the goondagiri of the familygiri but atleast the world knows.
Tonald and Cover_drive, GOod luck to you guys...I am sure..you guys will fight it out..till the end..:) QC Kings and Giants should very interesting match..Weather is looking good for the weekend..KMFC..hope it stays that way...
Justice_4_all, We are not Div-I yet...We will see when we get there..for sure..
Since I have in MWCC league both in Div-I and DIv-II 3-4 game is travel Norm for all teams...both Chicago as well as away teams...I don't why few teams feel they travel more than away teams...I do understand it does put lot of pressure on team finances and players who have to be away and especially Sundya games so hard...I guess there will be NO remedy for this issue I guess...:)
yes madhu it use to be 2-3 games but now it is 5 games and if peoria comes to div 1 it is goin to be 6 games for chicago teams. 2 trips to milwaukee 1 trip to spirngfield 1 trip to st.louis 1 trip to purdue and then if you guys end here is goin to be one more trip. plus i dont know why league wants purdue & mucc to play in chicago why dont they give some chicago team a releif.
England should not have been India so comprehensively in the last match. That was a thrashing.
But now, you've got a team that is P#$$ed! Specially a certian Mr. Tendulkar, who seems to be on a mission! It's only the 22nd, over, and he's on 75. If he stays at the crease, this will be a huge knock.
We definitely need to work on our blogging...only 12..?
Nasir, I would love to get out...dunno yet..will give you a call once I have a plan.. I think we might have a bunch of people, I know Romeen is in... Will let you know soon..
Preetam, I heard and read about the nasty fight between Arjun and Rayudu at HCA Ranji trophy match...Hyd we have so many talented cricketers there is never a nurture process....I will bet there are quite a fast bowlers there in HYD..I have been away too long away from HCA stuff...I don't the current political 'Familygiri' structure and when I there..it was same Shivlal was "The Boss"...Hope things improve..and looking at the ICL you can see how many players are disgruntled..and looking for avenues to play...and exhibit their God given talent..I hope its works out in everyones favor..
Wildcats Vs Purdue Purdue won the toss and elected to bat first, after we played 3 overs the clouds started pouring and we felt that the game is done n dusted, so we took an early lunch and had some good chat with a couple of Purdue guys and Sadiq, by the time we finished the Lunch the rain pretty much subsided. We started playing again with the rain interruptions and from then on Purdue never got going loosing wickets regularly and they got all out for 93 in about 27 overs. Wildcats started their batting and got the runs in about 21 overs loosing 4 wickets. Sadiq would give a better update so i am being pretty short with my summary. It was fun playing against Purdue and i wish them the best with their playoff games...
Purdue won the toss and decided to bat. 3 overs later the skies opened up and we had a 2 hour rain break, following which the game resumed. Purdue made 92 all out with Naren again being the cream of the bowlers with 4 wickets, including those of Ashwin and Pradeep. He was ably supported by Satish, Krishna and Sumeet. The WC got to the score with 4 wickets down and in the 23rd over. Satish made a solid 21 n.o. and SP made 20 with some big hits. PCC were missing some of their regular players. Good luck to them for their semifinals in Ohio tomorrow.
Match Result - Rogers Park won by 28 runs ---------------------------------
On a damp ground (Hanover Pk), United won the toss and chose to bowl first in a 35 over game and made excellent use of the conditions. Rogers Park was in trouble as Brian, Dheeraj and Irfan bowled a tight line. The top order collapsed and Rogers Park were 45/5 at the 18 over break.
It was then that Sufian played some great aggressive strokes to bring us back in the game. He scored a rapid 40 from 25 balls before he was run out from a great direct hit. Affan assisted Mohtassim with a quick 26 and then Zeshan closed the innings in style scoring 29 in just 10 balls (picking 19 off the last over). Moti was Ret hurt for 30.
With a competetive 160 to chase, United started confidently and were in command at the 18 over break with 71 for 3. Nipun and Mateen were playing well before Mateen faultered to Nasir. United was 108 for 3 in 25 overs at this point but Rogers Park then made a remarkable comeback. Gopi was ct. at short cover and Brian was runout from point. Zeshan then bowled a spectacular over picking up Faisal, thanks to a great catch from Shiraz at Midwicket and then got Nipun (lbw) at 49. Nasir then finished off the tail and Rogers Park got the last 6 wicket for 13 runs. Faraz bowled excellent in the middle overs (7-22-1). United were bowled out for 132 in the 31st over.
Goodluck to United in their next game. They were great sports. Goodluck!
I am coming off a great game in Peoria between Giants and QC Kings...Game TIED!!!! 220 runs each...It was excellent game! I am one of the QC Kings or Giants would post match summary..
Giants batted first and made 220 runs in 40 overs with Amer scoring century 118 for Giants and QC kings were chasing well, with Hari Kiran taking the game into his own hands made 35 balls 83 runs and Dimpy, Satish, and Pankaj Chipping in the vital runs in the chase..Amazing game.. Definitely deserve a long summary..!!
Congrats to both teams! Both played hard to the bone!!
Brief Detail: Giants started off badly with both openers in first 2 overs. Then came a great 140 runs 3rd wkt partnership between Ali and Omer. Omer further partnered with Waqqas who hit some big ones. Giants finished the 40 overs with 219 for 6 or 7. The major architect of this innings was Omer Farooqi who scored his 2nd back to back century. Omer you are a stud.
QC Kings started off in similar fashion loosing 3 wickets in first 10 overs. Thanks to some good bowling by new opening duo of Asim and Atif (Me). This is when Hari came to the crease and started hitting some big sixes. QC Kings were comfortably cruising with 85 or so left when Hari Kiran got out. Giants bowled hard to take few more wickets then came the 7 wicket partnership between Punkag and Dimpy. Dimpy played really well and almost won the game for his team. Dimpy and Punkag both got run out thanks to some direct hits from Waqas and Yaseen. Ok fast forward to 3 overs left and 5 runs needed. The last batsman took charge and dispatched Omer for a boundary. QC Kings thought they had won then but at 219 scores was only tied. Next ball from Omer was flicked by the batsman towards fine leg and Shashi took a diving catch on his left. Hence the tie.
QC Kings definitely have good batting depth this year and bowling good line and lenght. Good Luck to you guys and especially Punkag who is a gem of a guy.
Chargers Vs AAA Summary: A great team effort saw Chargers defend a low score of 107 against a team that played quite well for where they stand in the table. Once again Rafi was a top scorer with 30s well supported by Javed scoring 20s. The highlight (Bowlers) not just bowled their hearts out but the attack bowlers for Charger (Rafi and Irfan) bowled 9 and 8 overs through out to remove top 5 batsmen even when AAA were 42/2 in 6 overs. Equally well supported by first change bowlers Dheeraj who took his lone wicket in his first over and bowled strict line length and Iqbal who got last 3 wickets in 4 balls only to miss the hattrick by what seemed to be an ump. ruling against Lbw appeal, slightly benefiting to batting side who lost #8 and #9 on the score of 100 in 2 balls. Iqbal came back strongly on the very next ball to bowled the last man to propel Chargers to a victory that they had their sight set when they stepped in the field to defend 107 in 45 overs. Rafi and Iqbal ended up with 3 wkts Irfan got 2 1 for Dheeraj. Wish AAA goodluck for rest of the season....and kudos to well earned victory and excellent team effort by chargers :)
which team(s) are you referring to in particular? Cos it's been a known fact that if any team that has an individual in the "executive" committee or for that matter any other committee....their team is "allowed" these re-scheduling privileges while all other teams are subjected to the actual league rule that no game (if rained out or not) unless an immediate member of a player dies.
And I doubt if these favoritism will change no matter whoever is leading this league....the so called "league rules" are only enforced on the teams that don't have any "friends" in the management. Hard fact to accept...but it is what it is....gotta live with it move on with playing whatever cricket we can. :(

Cleo,
I have to disagree with you on this one. Making such a statement is completely baseless for the simple reason that it depends on who is in management. We've the same management for the last few (i don't know how many) years. So, to say that about others is false.
I do realize that is your opinion, but I'm afraid such opinions are detrimental to the league. If you aren't willing to take risks or excercise other options, you're not likely to make any progress ever!
On a cricket field. If things aren't going your way, the Captain has to excercise other options or take a few gambles! Ironically enough, this decision also comes down to the Captains of all the teams, and unless each team pushes their captain to make a responsible decision (whatever that is), we will continue to experience the same issues!
Shekhs/Romeen, It was nice seeing you guys at the park yestarday. Ya lef to early man. It was kickn from 6pm. Da food was good, lots of ladies to go with da reggae and soca.
MAN Adi sounds like a proffesor. I thought you were more into cricket and females..Lol Yeh we captains have got to step up and see that the rules are not broken for a special few.
First of all, my statement is not baseless as I have seen this happening with the previous "management" as well over 10 years ago ...before TA became president.
Secondly, its not my opinion that is "detrimental" to the league as it is the actual instances (I can name several) that take place on a regular basis with teams that have "friends" in the league committees who can bend the rules as they see fit.
I am not bashing on Management for doing a bad job like so many others do...as I know how much of good work TA and a few others have done to this league that has come a long way over the last decade or so since they have taken over..... My only issue is that the management has to apply the RULES to EVERYONE in the league and not allow "favoritism" to over-rule the actual League RULES in place...
What exactly is "right decision" you talk about when it comes to team captains needing to make? Are you referring to voting for the "right" candidates during elections or do you mean fight a futile battle with the current "volunteered" committee members on who or how to enforce/maintain the same League rules to every team and player regardless of their "League Status Level"?
Yeh shekhs, From the look of things right now 9/9/07 will be ICC last game for this season???. We are going to make it a party atmosphere so we will have some fun.
Rup Said.. "From the look of things right now 9/9/07 will be ICC last game for this season???. "
I wouldn't be so sure Rup... I was running the probabilities last night..and I see a relatively (emphasizing on relatively) good chance for you guys to make playoffs..
Nothing against collinsville...but I'd bet on QC Kings to win against them @ Moline.
If that happens and Chicago Giants beat Raiders (favorites to beat Raiders)...then you could sneak in.. :-)
Shekhs, I like your way of thinking. of course we got to win but i feel springfield will get another Walk over and that our end. Making the p/o with 4 walk overs. Man this hurts. If I had only known my friend that while we were taking a rain out last week other teams were getting Walk overs. I could have taken the 4 points instead of playing with 3 stumps, no bails and two pint size water bottles for non striker stumps. Boy do i look stupid now but then again you can expect ICC (Rup) to do these stupid things.
-------- Fast_N_Furious said... this league is the worst.. how can some team reschedule rain out games and others cant Cleo said... f_n_f, which team(s) are you referring to in particular? ----------
There were 2 reschedules or moves this weekend I think - Pak Gym vs Milwaukee United, and QC Kings vs Giants. Both were due to weather conditions, mostly.
Pak and MUCC were due to play in WHitewater, and then Lincoln, but with huge storms in WI over the past week both areas were waterlogged. Both teams want points, so rather than settling for 2 points each, the game was rescheduled to 2 weeks later in Milwaukee IIRC.
Giants and QC Kings was a bit confused... they were scheduled to play in Moline, there was a request a month ago to move it to Washington Park (so that QC Kings could get a game in playoff conditions IIRC), but that was not possible due to grounds having other games. So it was Moline again... but Moline was also flooded, so the game was moved on Friday or so and eventually played in Peoria (which had an empty ground). Once again, both teams wanted points and were willing to play elsewhere even if it involved a travel.
I have sympathy for the teams above - they were willing to travel and play in different places because its near the end of the season and nobody wants to be rained out, they need points. But I do think it turns out to be a little unfair for the other teams in contention, who may not be able to avoid water-logged grounds by travelling and so end up having to settle for only 2 points. Just last weekend both Rogers Park and United among playoff contenders wanted to play and get 4 points, but werent allowed to by rain. WIth our summer, everybody has had rainouts this season - and with such a tight playoff race, everyone would like to get a chance to actually get 4 points rather than 2. Giants themselves got only 2 last week when they were hoping for 4 - thats probably one reason they were willing to travel anywhere to get a full game in this weekend!
Krishna of the Wildcats made a very valid point this weekend - he said Pak Gym *should* be allowed to reschedule their game, because it is basically just outright unfair for any team to have *five* rainouts in a season and so maybe miss the playoffs. Five rainouts is a little too much bad luck, really, way over the top, something must be done to rectify *that* much unfairness.
I dont know if anything can or should be done this season myself - once the rules are set for a season, IMHO it means they are set in stone and nothing should change for that season (IMHO that should apply to all rules - if any situations crop up that are obviously wrong, rules should be made to avoid those thigns happening... but should only apply from next year onwards, when they are actually written and apply to everyone before the season begins. Rules, IMHO, should never be retroactive). Thus, I think the above should be looked at for next year and onwards - if any team has, say, more than 3 rainouts, their 4th possible rainout and onwards automatically get rescheduled, by rule. The first 3 rainouts, its bad luck, you take your 2 points and can do nothing... but if it is happening more than 3 times to anyone, then those games (for anyone in the league, Div 1, 2 or 3) get rescheduled, played at some other time wherever a ground in available, whenever it is available (ie long weekends etc are fair game for reschedule dates too). What do people think?
Shekhs: I thought u would be practicing yesterday, rather u were watching the game cool, I was told that u were baby sitting but seems u were doing other better stuff..
To set the record straight regarding QC Kings vs Chicago Giants match, Giants originally requested more than two months back if we can play in Chicago. We accepted, only if the game can be played in Washington park.
Unfortunately, ground was not available and we decided to go with the original plan in Moline. Due to flooding in Moline and no way that game can be played it was changed to Peoria at the request of both the teams.
Congratulations Rup. I really wanted to come watch the game. Instead went and bought myself a wii. I might have missed a good game, good food and fine ladies but then a wii is a wii. I like Sadiq's idea of three rainouts and automatic reschedule.
I agree with Sadiq when he says that whatever the rules that are set for each season have to be upheld for all teams that season. Whatever "tinkering/bending"/exceptions of the rules has to be finalized and officially added to the MCC rules and only applied the following season. I also agree it may be unfair to have too many rainouts in one season...and there should be a rule added to correct this issue.
btw.... Preetam...how much is a Wii, and where did you pick one up from ...I have been debating with myself :) for the past few weeks on whether to buy a PS3 or the Wii.. How are the games for Wii?
Cleo, I got mine for 249.95 from Walmart. But then mine comes with just a Console, 1 remote, 1 Nunchuck and a sports game. I think you can also get that in a bundle witha few more components. Walmart got 7 yesterday and i just happened to be lucky and got the last one. Keep checking at bestbuy on sundays and at walmarts too. PS3 graphics itseems are better than wii. But wii is more fun.
-------- Preetam N said... And Arjun has been getting these wild chances inspite of his performances and with good players like Rayudu and Ravi Teja left behind. Now that everything is open I fear a little for Raudu and co beacuse of the goondagiri of the familygiri but atleast the world knows. -------
At the risk of pissing off all the Hyderabadis online... I would like to disagree with the idea that either of Rayudu or Ravi Teja deserved a higher-level chance anyway, Yadav-goondagiri or not :-)
I have no love for the Yadav's, I think they suck - and Arjun should most certainly not be playing for India-A (or even for South Zone in the Duleeps, probably). Shivlal has always been an awful biased selector, and Ive heard Rajesh is a dictator too. But still...
Ravi Teja is very young, and needs to have many more better and consistent performances before he even gets India-A consideration IMHO. Earlier this year, for example, he toured NZ with India U19, and was quite comprehensively outperformed by his U19 opening partner Ajinkya Rahane of Bombay (Rahane is also very talented, was the highest rungetter in the national U19 tournament last year, but he hasnt even gotten a Ranji game for Bombay yet! That should give an idea of how far Teja should be from India contention at the moment. Let himn have a couple of outstanding domestic seasons, and then maybe he can be considered, certainly not right now tho).
As for Rayudu, he has been horribly disappointing for a while now. He was a U19 star many years ago, and had a very good first year in domestics with 3 tons (IMHO even that was a little skewed - he had a double ton and a ton in the same game against a weak Andhra side but 0 and 1 in the game against Bombay that year, for example, but still, it was a fine effort from a youngster). Anyway, due to that first good season, 3 tons, Rayudu was sent with India-A to WI. There he failed, averaging only 26 with the bat - thus clearly not ready for international cricket right at that moment, but a prospect for the future to keep an eye on, who can be picked if he does well.
Since then Rayudu has played 4 years of Ranji cricket... and in those 4 full years he has made a grand total of 2 centuries! It isnt all "Yadav's fault" either... Rayudu was unhappy with Hyderabad, and left and played for Andhra one season, but then actually moved *back* to Hyderabad next year. In 2004-05 he reached the depths, failing to make even a fifty all year (high score 36), and averaging an abysmal 11 for the season! He has since recovered a little, with mediocre seasons of 35 and 41 average since... but that is still far far far away from anything like even India-A contention (top contenders average 50-60 often enough in Ranjis... and for people like Amol Muzumdar even *that* isnt enough to be given even an India-A chance!) Rayudu thus blew his chances with his lack of performances IMHO - the Yadav's, despite all their failings, deserve no blame for his not making the India side. (The ICL is thus a boon for Rayudu - still soem name-recognition from U19 days, when people thought he was the next Tendulkar, but no actual decent performances to make the India side... good opportunity to cash in with ICL, and he has taken it. Good for him - but I dont think the Indian team will miss anything, even if the Hyderabad Ranji side might).
-------- Shekhs said... Rup, I know I'll miss out on the festivities..what can you do, when the rugrats aint behavin.. :-) I'm glad I left early, or else would've been a rough nite.. --------
Yes, pity you had to leave early.. and Romeen doesnt even have your rugrats excuse :-) I was there until about an hour and a half after the game ended, till about 7pm or so... stuck around, chatted, and had lots of good food (bbq chicken, jerk chicken, rice-and-peas, curry-rice, mac-n-cheese... they had salad and hotdogs and spaghetti with meatballs etc too, but I ignored those :-)
When I left (bit after 7 as I said), the party was still in mid-season rocking form, and looked set to go for a few more hours. But having just watched Rup, glass in hand, gettin down-and-dirty shakin his groove thang (with the lawn serving as the makeshift dancefloor) to the rockin reggae version of "My Dingaling, I want you to play with my dingaling"... I figured the highlight of the evening had already been witnessed and I could safely head on home :-)
Hey guy, i think what cleo & fast n furious was talking about Pak & MUCC game is rescheduled because of rain fair or un-fair i don't know but this game will hurt the teams like (United, muslim, rogerspark & phoenix). who are in close playoff race & will be out because of 2 points & about 4-5 rainouts game that u guys can talk to all the captains in AGM and change the rule but not in the middle of the season and give the favour to some team because they are your freind this is bull crap like they did few years ago and give Wildcats a huge favour in the middle of the season and cuz of that wildcats won the championship that season.
What do people think? ========================== I agree that rules should be written in stone for the season and if there is a change it should be implemented next season. But the irony is that rule has already been broken. Pak Gym is scheduled to play MUCC during the long weekend. United with the help of other temas who are in a similar situation will fight this.
Blatant favortism, this is exactly how TA works. why re-schedule only pak game. why not the others that have playoff implications. heck why even put out rules if we don't follow them. i thought re-schedules were only in case of emergency... rain is not an emergency however pak making it the playoffs is. i'd say just put pak in the playoffs all the teams that are playing them just give them a walkover... is that cricket? pak you guys should be ashamed to even go through these lengths.
pappu yaar, i don't think adnan is doin any personel attacks to the league over here what he is saying is all about pak why give them the favour to reschuling the game which is rained out and pak is low i can't beleif that. That's how u wanna go to playoff it is diasgraceful do you guys ever think why is your game is rain out all the time cuz GOD is not happy with u.Shame on you guys.
My massage to all the teams who are in the playoff race talk to the league about this. All the captains should talk and stand-up for this specially Muslim(farhat),United(faisal),Phoenix(mitul)& Rogerspark(nasir) do not let this happen. That is very unfair to you guys.
I totally agree with adnan, justice & cro_magna this is unfair to all the teams who got rained-out earlier & pappu listen to the person first what he is saying then post your comment don't be an idiot.
Wow Pak on the firing line again. Remember last season. the screwed a a couple of teams because of their sensitive nature to sleep. Karma my friends, KARMA. Such a good word. If this is allowe this then I urge all teams to fight for a reschedule if their rained out last week if it affected their play off hopes.
I am with all of you on this. ICC hopes were cut down 99% by the rain out. we have a 1% chance and we are counting on couple teams to win. If this reschedule happens then I am fighting to get ours too. a win and we are sitting pretty in the p/o.
Rup,you korhee. You should have taken full points against Suburban for not having stumps. Instead you choose to bowl over two water bottles. ICC nice people, right??
Now we are hanging on the edge of a rope being held by Springfield. What a jooooke.
Congrats to my past team QC Kings in Moline for showing such excellent team work in being there in the top. WP (for playoff) must be treated like away games, which were all won this year.
Congrats also to Evanston/ICC and the nice weather for last weekend. It was all caribbean style, just missing the palm trees....but with all the palm-bats around, explains.
This rain out and walk over thing is huge to all playoff teams... If ICC could get out rain out game reschedule we will be sitting pretty. But thats ok we put ourselves in this situation and it will be addressed next season...I wont cry over a rainout its the work of god. But I have to go back to that lucky IX game we gave away thats the killer there...
Also what up with Springfield winning 4 games loing 5 and 3 walkover? Thats not a team that deserves a playoff spot give it to Raiders, Collinsville somebody else that a sure win in the playoff for whoever plays them
is there any mucc guy available to confirm if they were given any option in this reschedule why ask is unless there is a mutual agreement between teams there cannot be a reschedule this is outright injustice to all teams fighting for playoff spots
Everyone should stfu about Pak's game being rescheduled. Please realize that had it not been rescheduled, it would have been there fifth rainout. Pak is one of the elite teams and they should be given a chance to qualify for the playoffs solely on that. It'd have been unfair to them if they were kicked out because of this rainout business.
why blame springfield getting a walk overs its not their fault its act of gods looking at the records sprinfield win those game for sure teams that give walk over should be dropped to lower division as they don't belong to competitive div SIUE walkover to springfield might have been turning game for them
Ok MUCC.. Don't tell me you are all sleeping too. Let us know why this re-schedule happened. Dr. B, Korhee... I was thinking If the rain came I was going to go get some rubber balls and play ball!!!!!. I needed the points badly but no that bad to not let the game play. Gave credit to Suburban for wanting to play. they have not missed a game all season and look at their record. This is what I expect from all teams Being a fellow west Indian you should know that if we want to play ball we play ball no matter the conditions.
Pukka..put an F in place of P you JACKASS. Elite my two balls as they are bigger than the whole PAK. they want to cry now when the did not give a F**K about anyone last year. they were playing bad cricket this year so may be the rain was good for them you A-hole. Again Elite my middle stump???
Everyone should stfu about Pak's game being rescheduled. Please realize that had it not been rescheduled, it would have been there fifth rainout. Pak is one of the elite teams and they should be given a chance to qualify for the playoffs solely on that. It'd have been unfair to them if they were kicked out because of this rainout business. ============================= Take it up with God.
is there any mucc guy available to confirm if they were given any option in this reschedule why ask is unless there is a mutual agreement between teams there cannot be a reschedule this is outright injustice to all teams fighting for playoff spots ================================= This is coming from a very reliable source inside MUCC. Pak Gym called the Captain of MUCC and wanted a guarantee that the game will take place. Obviously MUCC cannot make any guarantees and that is when Mr. President jumped on the call and declared that Pak Gym will have rescheduled game, because there have been 4 rained out games.
Eng had india on the ropes rain saved india should ICC say since Eng was in a winning positioon lets replay the last day when is shines? Hell no.. SO who the hell is shyte Gym? Please give me a break I think they are a VERY average bunch and rain may have help them rather than hurt them
Whether MUCC was given an option to play or not is not important...the bottom line is that as per the RULES, rained out re-schedules are not allowed during the regular season. This was what I was talking about when I say that the so called RULES that we have set in MCC can be changed whenever the either the management or scheduling committee see fit.
This is the same with the Giants and QC game.....first of all any talks of re-schedules should not have been discussed since no death had occurred in either of the concerned team players families. From what has been said, the request was made by Giants and agreed by QC. But since the venue could not be moved to chicago due to unavailability of grounds, they moved it back to moline which was where the game was originally the scheduled location, but since the ground was water-logged - due to rains which happens several times in washington Park Ground #3 and Heritage Park, their game was moved to Peoria because both teams "need" the points for the playoffs..... and this is the BS that I am tired of. This bending of the rules in the middle of the season....its no coincidence that Shashi Buluswar who is the Division 2's management rep also plays for the Giants.
This HAS TO STOP.....RULES are not made to be broken....Everyone has to be subjected to the same rules in the same league. Everyone is subjected to bad luck in terms of rain outs....Pak Gymkhana is no exception...if they want to play more cricket this summer...then let them play friendly matches with other teams during sunny weekends...but you can't change the rules in mid-season as there are so many other teams in the league whose playoff hopes were crushed due to one or more rained out games.
Doosra, you know as well as anyone that if Pak makes it in, they'll be a force to reckon with regardless of what took place during the season. There's a reason you are wetting your pants on this rescheduling fiasco which only reaffirms my opinion of Pak gym's eliteness. Getting a little uncomfortable, are we?
did i not say I got balls *ukka. I am not scared of Pak. Never been and will never be. A lot of Teams are just waiting to kick their Old ASSES this years. Wetting my pant on PAK??. HMMMMMM I save my wetting for other things and before you think dirty i am talking female
Maybe this is not a good time to be on the blog site. I am reading all the comments and cannot help but to say most of this is based on bad management of the league. When I used to play cricket it was about winning but there was a well organized league and there are different groups of individuals responsible for different things. For example,a rescheduled game must NEVER happen unless a rule is in place. Ground switches cannot be made on the dawn of a game. DL system must be in place for rain games. Certified umpires MUST be in a league. Leagues MUST provide detailed summary of financial reports to each team's president. Teams concerns must be presented to board via their captains meeting with board once or twice a year. I am seeing a lot of missing elements in this league and it must be fixed or else there will be lots of angry folks each year when rules are broken.
Dr b. What drugs are you on??. Me calling the president to get our game reschedule. Have you seen that cartoon whe Daffy Duck got shot by the Alien through the phone?. Man I got a lot to live for like this weekend of Bloggers@hb.com.. Who is in?.
I have been out of it the last few days, but I feel like I want to voice a STRONG opinion on the issue of the Pak Gym vs MUCC reschedule.
1. It doesn't matter if you are elite, sub-part, sub-standard, past champions, or whatever. The rules apply the same to all. No reschedule for rainouts.
2. It doesn't matter if you have all 14 games rained out, the rules apply the same to all. No reschedule for rainouts.
3. It doesn't matter if you have decided to reschedule, or have spoken to the President about it in advance. The rules apply the same to all. No reschedule for rainouts.
4. It doesn't matter how unfair it is to a team or whatever. It doesn't matter if the rules should be and will be changed next year. It doesn't matter......
I have license to prescribe,so you can head to Moline this weekend and bring em boys so we acn all be on the same stuff.
Man this Rishi guy is gooood. This league will benefit from poeple like him. Buddy, why don'y you join a team or something and come attend meetings and make yo self known. Looks like Chally will nominate you.
Firstly, if this was Phoenix, Royals, United, etc, it would have never been allowed!!! We all know that one word from a couple of teams and that would be the end of it.
Second, yes, it does affect me. So I take up this cause. But that doesn't make this cause wrong. So, don't pick on people who question this, but do try and defend it.
Third, someone said it earlier and hats off to them. A certain thing known as Karma is coming back to haunt Pak Gym for giving a walk-over last year.
Fourth, Pak Gym can still make it to the Playoffs. They have 2 other games left, and if they win both, they are easily through. So, why the concern? They're an "elite" team, and so I'm sure they can get those wins. It's not like they have been ruled out by the rainout.
Ok *ukka, I figure this much and i know my fellow blogger will back me. You are a Blond with curly hear. By the time you finish combing it your brain stops working so the other body parts start thinking for you and for Blonds not good news. ====================== In that case you have nothing to worry about Doosra, MUCC will kick the bajezus out of Pak Gym. ====================== What happens to the other teams who got 2 points for rain out??? Blondie!!!!!
I can understand and respect your opinion Aditiya. At the same time, isn't there something wrong if rain becomes a deciding factor in our standings? Cruel I must say.
I can understand and respect your opinion Aditiya. At the same time, isn't there something wrong if rain becomes a deciding factor in our standings? Cruel I must say.
Aiite...whatever I'm saying is my personal opinion..dont have anything to do with my team or its stand....want to make sure that I'm not quoted for Challengers..
First of all...absolutely agree with most of you - Cannot reschedule a rained out or potential "rain out" game! Period!
If the law says that a rained out game is not gonna be played - It should not be rescheduled, regardless of any outcome..
That was the current situation..
Now for the future - We do need to come up with a consensus to pass a law that will let us play some games next year..
Would you like to have 5 of your 14 games rained out? This is regardless of playoff positioning... I invest time and money to play cricket and if a good chunk is rained out....I'll be pissed (I'm already pissed that I couldn't play 2 rain outs)..
Do you still have any aspirations to become MCC Pres next year? You mentioned several valid issues in the past so was wondering if you would agree to run next year so that we can officially nominate you and help run a campaign for you.
btw...this is no longer just regular blog talk...will you or will you not run....lets start there and then move from there to gather the required support.
What do u say ? Think about it seriously and let us now..
Rain decide on a lot of places. Rain could make you stand on places where you don't want to. Cruel, no!. It's called the world we live in, so live with it.
Rup for PRESIDENT. Yes!!!! Look sometimes I get serious and this happen to be one of em.
Forget all the baloney blog talks and nonsense. Do me a favour do VOTE for RUP. He is an excellent person and we must all agree. Com'on guys look at waht is hapenning in this league.
pukka punjabi said... I can understand and respect your opinion Aditiya. At the same time, isn't there something wrong if rain becomes a deciding factor in our standings? Cruel I must say.
Yes, it is cruel, and unfortunate. I do not argue those points. But, unfortunately, those are the rules for this year.
I also agree with Shekhs that these rules should be changed to be more accomodating. I'm all for playing as many games as possible and reducing rain out opportunities.... for next year onwards!
Thank you for your support. However, I think we will need more than just your personal opinion (which counts for me personally). We will likely need the support of captains to put up a protest to prevent such a game from occuring or being allowed to occur.
I do believe that all the teams from Div 1 Wildcats, Challengers, Milw CC, Purdue, St Louis, Rogers Park, Muslim Gym, Royals, United, AAA, Captiol, Chargers, Phoenix, Flames, will need to protest this. I haven't named Pak and MUCC because they are the protagonists.
I haven't included Div 2 teams because at present this is a Div 1 issue and there are too many teams to name! :) But your support would be appreacited in this as well.
Even if an issues doesn't affect you, if it is clearly a blatant disregard for the rules, it is everyone responsibility to ensure that it doesn't happen. Otherwise, this is not a league, it is just a bunch of teams that do not care.
Although rain can do wonders, it is surely to piss you off if interfered with five of your matches, and therefore, pretty much deciding your fate. Given the Pak's level of play, I have no doubt that they'll make it in as a 7th or 8th seed. However, rain is to be blamed for much if they didn't. Rules have been skewed before to accomodate several teams. Muslim Gym was not kicked out Div I despite having the worst record. Teams have also rescheduled games if their superstars were not going to play.
It might have happened, but things like this must STOP. I agree that rain shouldn't play a part in the playoff rankings, but unfortunately, the league is setup that way. All this must change!
But not in the middle of the season. Otherwise, I would like to have some of our "rain affected" games rescheduled!
Last year, a walkover affected the Tigers and caused their relegation. That wasn't even in the hands of nature! But they had to accept their fate, and move on. Kudos to them for accepting their fate.
I am sure that Pak Gym and MUCC are just as sporting teams and will not behave in a unsportsmanly manner. They are both teams with men, and I'm sure they will act accordingly. We all have respect for both teams, and let us hope they will do the right thing!
How about we write a letter, and then email it to all the teams and ask them to reply with their support. Then we send in all the replies, the letter, etc to the management and copy everyone so that this is handled transparently and openly.
Before I go any further, I must ask why Muslim Gym were not relegated a couple of years back? And why has no one cried foul on the rescheduling of Pak Vs Muslim game. Several sources have informed me that Muslim Gym did not want play because one of their players was getting married and two other superstars were out of town. If this monkey business must come to an end then something must be done regarding this game as well.
Adi, As for the support part, I'm definitely in for a good cause...I can talk to our team and let you know..
we probably should come up with some possible solutions..as of now...we only have a reason to protest...there is no path.. We can keep ranting on....but what we need is a solution...like what we intend on doing or what can be done with the current situation...
Fellow Bloggers.. Rule is rule is rule..I should agree on that and should be applied uniformly with out any ambiguity..Does't matter if is Elite or bottom team..
How ever I should disagree with Cleo on QC Kings vs Giants game..There was no scheduling here..and Moline Ground was unplayable due to flodding...on the day of the schedule...but if there is... another ground available what is wrong in moving the game..there? It is NO way rescheduling or something..but just moving the game to a better ground..So for example..if heritage park is logged and Hanover park is available and in good condition..what is wrong in moving the game there? If a ground is available down south (Springfield, Peoria, St. Louis, SIUE) and there water logged grounds in Chicago area if both teams willing they can be played there on the same date..(NOT a reschedule)..Just my 2 cents..
'Rain Rule' should be amended..One question I always have is what is cut off time for a rain -out game? If 20 over rule applies then, shouldn't all teams wait I guess..may be till 3 PM or so to make sure weather there is still bad weather or something b4 splitting points... SOme times if weather breaks after 2 PM or so..then there is always a possiblity of playing 20-30 over game? I never understood this rule..Don't you all agree if game to be decided on 20 overs then game should be played if 20 overs a side game possibility? Who should make this decision? Captains or Umpire...? I have seen teams are in hurry to split points and leave with playing...especially visiting teams..excuse as it will late driving back..I understand the issue there..but..don't u guys think they should wait if good weather is possibilit at a later time on the same day? just my 2 cents..again
The solution for this year is that no games can be re-scheduled. The solution for next year can be discussed and finalized by the team captains at a pre-season AGM to decide on the number of rainouts a team must endure before having their subsequent rained-out games rescheduled. As Sadiq had suggested earlier after having 3 rained out games, a team will have the right to REQUEST for a re-schedule based on availability of grounds and dates etc...
pukka i am sorry to say but pak and muslim game was re-schedule because of irfan's father past away and the request for that game comes from pak gym o.k. so now stop crying.
Mini-Tango, it is obvious from your Purdue rant that you are one of the Muslim Guys. Isn't it true that Mahmood was getting married while two others were out of town and Farhat was scrambling to reschedule the game? The death of Irfan's father just helped your cause.
Mini-Tango, you have admitted yourself then, will this not give an upper hand to Muslim Gym? All I am saying is that you didn't want to play in July because you didn't have the firepower to cope with Pak gym. You wished to reschedule and Irfan's father's death was a blessing in disguise for you.
In any case, you should have been relegated to division II and we wouldn't be having this discussion now, would we? Please enlighten us on to why Muslim Gym was not relegated in spite of their worst record. Don't tell me you are not buddies with the management and have not skewed the rules over the years.
Mr Cleo, Just couple of months back everyone was talking about home/away games and travel Chicago teams are going through and not least how QC Kings can only win at home.
When we got the request from Giants we wanted to take that as an opportunity to show that we are willing to travel.Unforutnately it didn't work the way we wanted but it all worked ok for us finally.
To talk about points, we are never worried about win/loss but all we care is how many good games we can play with the amount we are paying to the league as fee. BTW, if you check our points we are sitting pretty inspite of a rained out game couple of weeks ago. :)-
Coming to the point of Moline ground, ground is not under water. But right after the boundary line there is big pool of water from local river (which flooded last week). Game is possible as long as nobody hits over the rope there.
Given this situation and other teams close to playoffs(like ICC) i am sure nobody wants to split points. So, please don't compare out incident with someone else.
If you read Madhu's(PCC) comments last year(still in the blog archives) about our game with them, you will understand our objective of joining the league is to play cricket than mere points which doesn't mean anything if you don't actually play.
well guys whatever is goin on is not good at all whatever happen in past and present we all must stop this nonsense and adi i will be there for u guys for protest. This is totally unfair.
I guess teams are asking for re-scheduling since it is affecting their points tally ... Same happens with tied matches - teams get split points ... Some season .. a team will be ivolved in 4-5 tied matches and then they will ask for re-scheduling ...
So .. as most of the bloggers said .. there should not be re-scheduling of any rained-out matches ... any season ...
This time .. there was more rain ... so we ammend the rule saying if a team is having more than 5 rained-out matches .. league will re-schedule their 6th match if it gets rained out ... Say next year ... it rains less ... so again the rule will get ammended saying it rained less .. so lets make 3 rained-out matches a criteria ..
If league is worried about rained out matches ... why not pay back some amount of the fees they paid to the league ... like what happens in case of practice matches ...
Please add ICC, Chicago Giants to the list along with QC kings..We played 25 over games with all the three listed last year who were very kind to wait around till the matting dried.. It about atleast 3 PM or so.. before we could even start the game..We do have a luxury of nice ground that DOES NOT log water..Everything is absorbed and drained properly....Only place that has has issue is Astro turf that logs water but we fixed that part by buying tarps this year as suggested by Rup of ICC last year...Please us good grounds when they are available as it gives a special dimension to the game itself..:)
All I want to say after reading through the discussion is that..sometimes rules are redundant when teams can play in 'True spirit of the game'..but some times competition kills that 'Spirit'...the Rules will apply when that 'spirit' is gone...But teams should take it too much to heart..Once such great example is the IIT vs Adanvers game..and MUCC vs CApitol..just my personal opinion..:)
madhu whats up bro.. Nice points I do agree if 20 overs is cut off point once its possible to get a game in @ 20 over I think it should be played even if weather breaks by 2 Pm or so. QCfan nice to clear things up and I am in your corner with respects to playing cricket. I hate rain out I rather lose the game than get rainout points.. and your situation was different...
How about we write a letter, and then email it to all the teams and ask them to reply with their support. Then we send in all the replies, the letter, etc to the management and copy everyone so that this is handled transparently and openly.
Thoughts? ================================== I think it would be better if all the teams who will be affected by this decision, contact the president and demand an explanation. The question I have is what IF management decides to continue to move forward with Pak Gym/MUCC game? What can we do? We already know it is happening. How do we stop it from happening?
I like the idea someone posted earlier. A total boycott of the playoffs, if management continues to move forward with the decision.
I haven't included Div 2 teams because at present this is a Div 1 issue and there are too many teams to name! :) But your support would be appreacited in this as well. ------------------------ Adi you have to include this for all leagues. If this goes then all games washed out that week end must be reschedule no matter who and where. Only then can this be justified as an equitable decision for all.
No interset in being on league board but I hope my statements can be heard, all in the benefit of you young fellows. Sometimes there has to be a change and this must be the time. Be careful though,as you must have responsible individuals to take the process through the end. I seen names like Rup being mentioned and you must all work well with each other. Bad situations will always come along and it must be resolved appropriately with management. As far as I can see,it looks like management hardly peek into your concerns. The QC person did mention high fees for playing cricket. I gather it must be around $2,200. Now can somebody do the math and work out the details. Do the math and calculate:ball cost, umpire fees, ground maintainance, bathrooms, mats replacements, night ligts. All you experts do the math. How many teams in this league, plus night teams? Math $2200 times team minus expenses. Free land guys, take responsibilities and stop talking about what needs to be fixed and fix it now.
I can understand your point as when there is an available ground, a game can be moved. However, the fiasco with the Giants and QC game was going on for long time...and it was going to end up involving several more teams in terms of re-locating other games to different locations just so that the requests of Giants/QC would be satisfied. This game had started out to be a "re-scheduled / re-located" due to certain team members requests...and my point is that this should not happen as per our rules which say that Reschedules should not happen unless there is a death in the immediate family.
What pisses me off the most, is during every AGM meeting which only half the teams in this league show up for, this re-scheduling issue is always bought up for discussion and its always decided by the "majority" that no reschedules should happen unless there is a death in the immediate family ....and then we go into the season...and keep hearing so many different instances where so many teams request and are even granted a re-schedule.
Doosra, stop being a judgmental jackass and address the issues that I have mentioned above instead of name calling. I don't want to get into your name calling game.
then stop supporting this f%$#$d up situation that Pak has cause you moron. You started this by saying it's ok and you suddenly made a 360 and you call me a Jckass. What a Blond!!!!!!=*pukka
Agree completely Cleo...More teams should take responsiblity and should come for AGM..meeting..and see their voices heard..Last time I was there for both AGM's there were hardly 30 teams in presence..as you stated rules were dicussed were voted by Majority....It was democratic..it Yay or nay sort of going..and were passed..I personally feel if wrong rule is passed management cannot be blamed on this..It boils down to personal responsiblity of teams to attend and demand to get services for fees $2300 actually that we pay...
(Following needs to be read in one breath) Only issue with this game was it wasn't a REschedule..it was originally scheduled for Moline for 26th Aug..but plans made to move it to CHicago for 25th...as per Giants request ..but then there were no grounds available in CHicago..was stated to go as per schedule..but Moline ground was flooded due to rain (there is creek on the left side that over flowed) and unplayable..Hence moved to Peoria on same scheduled DAY as per ORIGINAL schedule..I take a breath now..Its hard to state this sentence in one breath..:)
Why shouldn't I support it when teams have gone as far as avoiding relegation despite the worst record in the league? And please, you started this name calling, I am just an unwilling participant.
Mr Cleo, I don't want to have to convince or do i have any reason to convince you.
Under the MCC website, if you ever care to check under the rescheduling rules..there are two points which is pasted below.
4. All scheduling requests should be made after the first AGM for the season and typically before the second AGM (when schedules are released). Specific deadlines for receipt of scheduling requests may be posted at the beginning of the season.
What does this mean to you since you seem to attend the AGM's quite regularly? To me, it is any changes before the initial schedule is drafted. Do you care to remember how many weeks it took to get the final schedule? If not go check the blog comments during first few weeks of the season. You seem to be a good student attending AGM, why didn't you demand for complete schedule right there and then. Check the next one below.
6. Rescheduling request should be made well in advance. At least 2 weeks of notice is required. Chances for approval would be significantly low for the current week’s game
This mean to me once the complete schedule is available and you can request for a change atleast 2 weeks before the game is played.

Rup,
You are right. I ammend my statement to say that I didn't include Div 2 team names because there are just too many to name. But Div 2 MUST support this as well, because it affect the league as a whole.
Thank you for your support and input on QCK and Gaints game. Here is what I know.
QC Kings vs Giants game was initially scheduled to be played in Moline. Giants made a request over 2 months ago to MCC and QC Kings to move this game to Chicago. Remember this was a request only, QC Kings accepted to travel to Chicago but only under condition that this game will be held at WP. Unfortunately MCC was unable to host this game in WP so alternate option was to go back to Moline or play on a neutral ground so Peoria was picked as the venue.
So in summary the game was not re-scheduled but moved to alternate location and played the same day.
All I know is that MCC is not run with a my way or highway rule if you have a good business case they will do everything to accomodate your request.
I will not comment on Pak Gymkhana's situation because quite frankly: everyone here is getting all worked up and making there own assumption on why PG's game got rescheduled. If you really care that much then pick up the phone and call the league and voice your concern.
Pukka punjabi said... Doosra, stop being a judgmental jackass and address the issues that I have mentioned above instead of name calling. I don't want to get into your name calling game. ---
Pukka P, Everyone here agrees that Pak Gym has got a raw deal. But then ..it is based on luck of the draw. Every season, some teams get rained out matches.. some teams get a tough team schedule and some other teams get tough travel schedule..We dont see other teams crying foul.. That is part of random schduling process.. Dont think it is smart to start on the slippery slop of fixing each teams grief/downside..
Doesn't make sense having rules if will follow them only when convenient. right..
Guys, the Pak v MUCC match was scheduled to be played at the Whitewater ground, which was not available and the Lincoln Park pitch (turf) was water logged. We were given 2 choices:
a. To play the game at Hammond, IN ground b. To play in Milwaukee at a later date
MUCC didn't want to travel to Hammond, we were willing to play there, so the match was rescheduled - not due to rain but due to unavailability of ground. Get that through your heads before setting out for a witch hunt.
I am not good with english.. remember i am an accountant. Can some one let me know the real meaning of the word Reschedule. My take is any change in the original/first schedule??. Madhu, I must disagree that moving the game to another ground so it can be played instead of a rain out is a reschedule in my books though it sounds like the right thing to do. Boy i could have asked to move our game to Springfield cause they were not playing..Just kidding.LOL
You guys are mixing re-scheduling requests with rain out games. A team can request to have a game re-schedule if opposition agrees and if there is a ground available. What is not allowed is calling a team night before and re-scheduling the game, because it might rain the next day.
Boycotting the playoffs if management isn't going to heed our protest / request is likely to be difficult to organize and get all the teams on board!
But I'm an optimist. I don't see this as a battle as yet. I think there was a request to change a game, the request was granted erroneously. I am sure if we request the management to reconsider, and highlight the error in the decision, they will correct it. I'd like to start by using reason instead of threats.
But if they do not heed our request, then we can review escalation options.
listen QC fan...i honestly dont want to get into a similar situation where pukka and doosra are going at each other as it seems to me judging from your tone..u seem to be pretty pissed off...
i dont have a beef with the specific teams in either case QC or Giants... My whole purpose to raise the issue about how the league does not apply the same set of RULES to everyone.
So first of all, calm down and just concentrate on your playoff games. Good Luck with that:)
Adnan you are wrong. At the meeting we agreed that once the schedule is posted there will be no rescheduling unless there is an emergency. If the rules have not been updated then we got ourselves to blame. I had to cancell ICC tour to Canada because my request was not honor to have the week end off and I could not get it reschedule.
Rup, I don't think you would ever consider moving your games to Springfield or etc...after seeing so many of your comments about family time and travel..just kidding :)-
Rup..Buddy you and Evanston guys welcome any time to play on our ground man..I missed out on that game festivities..When we use to go to Milwaukee a long time ago..festivities were like that..almost..:)Next time ICC vs Evanstons game is in PEORIA buddy..:) it will be REscheduled...trust..me..:)

Raheel,
I disagree with you. Your logic has many fallacies in it. It's like saying, Phoenix and United have a game schedule for Hannover Park. But it rains, and the ground is unplayable. Therefore, we talk to management and request a change. The options are, play in Saint Louis. Phoenix says they cannot. So a walkover is given to United.
Fallacies:
1. This is an attempt to reschedule the game due to rain. You can tell the story in English, Hindi, Urdu, Gujrait, Tamil, or German. Still the same story!
2. When other teams in the league experience a "rain-out", the ground gets water-logged as well! Rain, no matter in Milwaukee, Chicago, Hammond, or Lafayette, is still the same thing.
3. The option to play in Milwaukee at a later date is still a "rained-out" match being rescheduled.
I'm not blaming either of the teams or calling you unsporting or cry-babies, or whatever else has been written. On the other hand, I have said that I believe that both teams have men playing in them who will do the right thing.
This situation clearly is against the current rules of the league. It may be unfair, or unfortunate, but rules are rules and are applicable uniformly.
Aditya said "1. This is an attempt to reschedule the game due to rain. You can tell the story in English, Hindi, Urdu, Gujrait, Tamil, or German. Still the same story!"
How about Malayalam? Can I get one in Malayalam please..
Aditya, the original ground (Whitewater) was unavailable and it was NOT DUE TO RAIN. Ask someone from MUCC why it was not available. And you are looking like a cry baby right now, not anyone else.
Your Comment: I like the idea someone posted earlier. A total boycott of the playoffs, if management continues to move forward with the decision.

This is why I say you are a negative person and will never be a good Leader. You have good suggestion and points but your delivery mechanism is flawed. You always resort to threats to get things accomplished. Also not to forget that you use blog to do mud slinging and say things without full knowledge of why it happend and how.
Have you ever tried diplomacy? it works.
I will repeat again. No one likes to hear cry baby. We are here to play cricket and do not want to play politics.
Try coming up with positive solution on how to get things done in a civil manner and not threats of boycott.
I like what someone wrote earlier. If you feel you have a good case then talk to league and they will listen. MCC is not the enemy folks. Without MCC we all will be sitting home and getting fat during summer.
Raheel, Welcome to the blog my friend. Shekhs, Malayalam. trying to pronounce this get me an appetitie for some Lamb curry with Roti or in out WI style Dholl Puri!!! YUUUMMIIII
Holy Moly I am on a roll here ... Running this league is not a easy job and is very much like running a team, corporation or country. Bottomline you will always have opposition and people that do not see eye to eye.
There is always things that can be improved upon and as long as humans are involved it can never be perfect.
Ok Raheel has just put another twister to this. "Ground not available". Raheel it will be safe to say you all did not go to the ground and that this cancellation was done When?

This above part I dont really agree with... if it had been bright and sunny, Atif, does anyone really think the game wouldnt have been played in Moline?? Of course it would have - it was a Moline game, tried to move to WP, if WP wasnt available back it would go to Moline. It was only because Moline ground was unplayable that it was moved to Peoria as a neutral site, no?
Iam not saying thats neccesarily a bad thing - in general I think if cricket can be played (and teams are willing to do it), then it *should* be played.
But then the issue arises about who is allowed to do it, and so forth. It happens often that Hanover and Heritage are waterlogged, but Washington Park is playable (and probably Hammond too) - happens *all* the time in a season. So can those games from Hanover/Heritage be moved the night before too? If so, which games should be allowed to move... just first-come, first-serve? Or should Div1 teams get priority over Div2 teams to reschedule? All kinds of questions arise, and they all need to be addressed with rules *before* the season begins, surely? Else Rup can also say that his game against West Suburban should be moved to a neutral location when it rains that morning... maybe to Hammond, or Evanston, or even Peoria, any ground that is actually playable on that day, no? It all gets unwiedly and unfeasible, if there are no rules set in place for it at the start.
The league just needs to set up rules for everything before the season actually begins. For example... 3 rainouts allowed, 4th such game automatically rescheduled before playoffs (to eliminate extreme badluck, as Pak Gym has this year). Or if another ground is available within, say, 50 miles, and your ground is waterlogged... then you can move there and play (Peoria and Moline may well fit in this, I dont even know, I havent mapped em out :-) And so on. But these rules have to be set *beforehand* IMHO, not during the middle of the season. (I have great sympathy for Pak Gym here - 5 rainouts is ridiculous for anyone, IMHO, just obviously unfair. But we dont have a rule in place at the moment to fix it in terms of rescheduling... and its not exactly fair for MUCC's other option to be to play in Indiana with an available ground on that day either! They had a "home game", and due to a waterlogged pitch they have to travel 2 states away to get the game in? Thats kinda harsh too :-) If Purdue's home ground is waterlogged when they play Bears (as a random example), the two teams arent asked to keep going all the way to St Louis to find a dry ground to play on, after all :-)
Anyway. With QC Kings and Giants playing that fantastic tied match (and both getting 2 points each, anyway)... most Div2 teams contending for the playoffs may not be as affected (and consequently not as up in arms :-) about this issue, anyway!
Sadiq bhai, the match was scheduled for WHITEWATER, so the water logged pitch argument doesn't hold as it wouldn't have been a home game anyways for MUCC at Lincoln Park. The University authorities at Whitewater didn't allow MUCC to play there for whatever reason and we were informed of this one day before, talk about last minute...
Curiosity kiiled several cats hope this don't kill Pukka, Why pak is the only team to have 5 rained out games. They play somewhere that we don't know of. I tell you why 1)the are scared of getting drizzled on so they are the first to Rain me out?. @)A bunch of old asses who think they will get hurt if the play in any other conditions than sun & dry 3)They need more beauty sleep on Rainy days.
BTW Raheel, Why, again coming up with this bullshit answer. Ground not available when everyone know Kenosha was flooded, is still flooded and will stay that way for more rain coming. I fell sorry for the kenosha people but not Pak.
Well, doosra, I was just giving you people our side of the story - the match has been rescheduled and will take place in Milwaukee on 9/15 (weather permitting ofcourse ;) ), so stop feeling sorry for us and worry about your own behind. I'm out.
You know, I believe the same thing happened to us. We were supposed to play MUCC at Whitewater. But the ground was unavailable. So we had to change to Lincoln.
Had that ground been water-logged due to rain, our game would have been considered "Rained-out".
Or would the league have rescheduled our game? Can someone elaborate?
This isn't something against Pak. I don't think you should get personal. This is just a question of whether it's fair to allow the rescheduled game or not.
just like Pak. "I am out" cause of a "little itty bitty wain". Nothing angers people more that bold face lies. think how the gods feel. They don't want Pak to play. Where is Milwaukee on this. Can we get your side of the story.
Raheel, if the ground become unavailble for any reason then the game cannot be rescheduled, point split.
Sadiq, It is bright and sunny in Moline as every where else on last Sunday.
But issue is with all the water(you can actually bring a boat and enjoy the cruise and the game) right from the boundary line(especially being on the shortest boundary side of the ground), i can't imagine how many times balls have to be changed(not to mention this year's shitiest quality of balls).
Who is going to bear that expense which is not a fault of both teams other than that of stupid rule that says that you cannot play at a better place literally in our case ? Rules are there for a reason but not for all reasons.
Rules should allow a game to be playable rather than unplayable. Instead of arguing about why a game can be played..everybody should ponder on what to do incase of a week (like 8/19/2007) where majority of the games are washed out.
Yeh cool Shekhs, I am still hungry. trying to blog and work and no lunch. I am out for the day. Adi you can call me or I will be umpiring tonights game if you want to stop by. Rup
So Rup, no response to my question yet. Can I assume you are still thinking or do you think the question is absurd as to the possibility of you being the League Pres? I am only asking you as I know that you have several good ideas and have also expressed interest in the past and in the end am hoping that you will look to be impartial (to any team or individual) in all your league decisions.
Please let us know if you would seriously contemplate this or if it would not be possible for you to run for this position?

Raheel, I understand this - it isnt the first time its happened this season either, BTW :-) Ive ended up having to umpire in Milwaukee a lot of times this season, and their games have been moved a few times from Whitewater to Lincoln, often very late in the week.
Both WHitewater and Lincoln Park are very much home grounds for Milwaukee United... Milwaukee United this year has played 4 games at Whitewater, and 6 games at Lincoln! When they played Phoenix this year the exact same thing happened, that happened this weekend - it was a Whitewater game, I had arranged with a couple of Phoenix guys to meet up and get a ride to Whitewater... and then on Friday IIRC the University Authorities said the ground was unavailable, and so the game was moved to Lincoln (I remember this particularly, because we changed our "leaving time" by almost an hour, Lincoln being so much closer than Whitewater as a roadtrip).I was told by Milwaukee United then that, if Whitewater is not available, they will usually move to Lincoln... and if Lincoln is also not available they will play at Lindsay Park in Milwaukee (a ground that has not been used this year in our league at all but is used for MUCC's internal games, Lindsay was used a couple of times last year in our league, and regularly the year before that, Ive umpired there a few times in the past). But those 3 grounds have always been the only "move" options in the past for MUCC - theyve never moved a game to Hammond, Indiana before!
Anyway. FWIW, BTW, Iam pretty sure Whitewater was (and is) flooded too, sadly - that entire region, from Madison to Whitewater to Delavan to Kenosha (Dane County, Walworth County, Kenosha County), has been suffering badly for the past 2 weeks with rains, setting new records for amounts of rainfall and flooding. (Madison CC, one of the better teams in Div2, has actually not played a game since August 5th... even when they were scheduled in Chicago it rained :-) Its a very pretty area of Wisconsin in general actually, and I was reading about it last week - their usual August rainfall is 3.8 inches, and this month they had already gotten 15.2 inches of rain! It is a beautiful region with lots of rivers and lakes... and almost all of them had flash-floods all of last week - its quite terrible. Kenosha County especially has the worst floods in a century IIRC, with many left homeless. Anyway. Even for non-cricketing reasons, we ought to hope everyone catches a break with the weather really soon - that area, especially, cant take any more rain.
qcfan, I hear you but you have to realize that when you make a decision that affects a few, That decision does not roll over to affect many. In this case it does and that why it has to be universal with out exceptions to what was agreed on originally. Look we played at Evanston. It was like running on top of water covered by grass mostly. A few puddles. Several times the ball went into water outside the boundries but we got it back quickly, dried it and it lasted the whole game. So what if you played on a ground where potentially the ball will get wet or damaged. Changing two or three ball will be better than any conversation now as to why the game moved. Evanston could have taken Two points. For us it was the "show must go on". that why it's fun and we had fun..boy did we.
Rup, When i said water ..i should have been more clear by saying that river near to the ground flooded up until couple of feet inside the boundary line and receded close to the boundary by Sunday.
So it is more than a lake over there and it is not same as what you may have experienced in Evanston. Check with Nokhram as seems to have visited the ground the previous day if he had played a match over there.

Madhu,
The intresting part is Sunil Gavaskar is supposedly leading that initiative for BCCI. So now the 2 guys (Kapil & Sunil) who allways had a friction filled relationship will be at each other again...
Sweatal..

Madew,
QC Game's venue is still a big mystery.
Madhu,
As far as Chicago Giants and QC Kings game is concerned, Tonald is right.
Good luck for your weekend game.
Thanks
Pankaj
Amidst all Cricket happenings ... Indian football team has got a English coach ... and Indian team is doing good in the Nehru cup recently ..

Hi Guys,
it's been a while.
Tonald and Cover_drive,
GOod luck to you guys...I am sure..you guys will fight it out..till the end..:) QC Kings and Giants should very interesting match..Weather is looking good for the weekend..KMFC..hope it stays that way...

Justice_4_all,
We are not Div-I yet...We will see when we get there..for sure..
Cheers
Madhu R
yes madhu it use to be 2-3 games but now it is 5 games and if peoria comes to div 1 it is goin to be 6 games for chicago teams.
2 trips to milwaukee
1 trip to spirngfield
1 trip to st.louis
1 trip to purdue
and then if you guys end here is goin to be one more trip.
plus i dont know why league wants purdue & mucc to play in chicago why dont they give some chicago team a releif.
England should not have been India so comprehensively in the last match. That was a thrashing.
But now, you've got a team that is P#$$ed! Specially a certian Mr. Tendulkar, who seems to be on a mission! It's only the 22nd, over, and he's on 75. If he stays at the crease, this will be a huge knock.
folks, still working, eh?
no I quit ...
Sheks,
Are you going out tonight?
We definitely need to work on our blogging...only 12..?
Nasir,
I would love to get out...dunno yet..will give you a call once I have a plan..
I think we might have a bunch of people, I know Romeen is in...
Will let you know soon..
Is anybody going to the ICC-Evanston game ?
Shekhs...romeen...aditya ?
Preetam, I think Shekhs and I are going to the game.
You going?
Yeah Preetam, Romeen and I are going..
Rom, you ready to blog away...?
Preetam,
I heard and read about the nasty fight between Arjun and Rayudu at HCA Ranji trophy match...Hyd we have so many talented cricketers there is never a nurture process....I will bet there are quite a fast bowlers there in HYD..I have been away too long away from HCA stuff...I don't the current political 'Familygiri' structure and when I there..it was same Shivlal was "The Boss"...Hope things improve..and looking at the ICL you can see how many players are disgruntled..and looking for avenues to play...and exhibit their God given talent..I hope its works out in everyones favor..

Wildcats Vs Purdue
Purdue won the toss and elected to bat first, after we played 3 overs the clouds started pouring and we felt that the game is done n dusted, so we took an early lunch and had some good chat with a couple of Purdue guys and Sadiq, by the time we finished the Lunch the rain pretty much subsided.
Purdue v/s WC summary:
Naren, I cant believe this! We did it again, we need to decide who writes when! :)
ok Cap its ur call if u want to do it i am fine with that...it does not matter unless we give contrasting updates...:-)
Match Report - United .vs. Rogers Park
Match Result - Rogers Park won by 28 runs
---------------------------------
On a damp ground (Hanover Pk), United won the toss and chose to bowl first in a 35 over game and made excellent use of the conditions.
Goodluck!
Regards,
--Rogers Park.

PCC
Giants vs QC Kings,
Summary: Definitely a game that builds character.
TD Out.
Chargers Vs AAA Summary:
A great team effort saw Chargers defend a low score of 107 against a team that played quite well for where they stand in the table.
Swetal/Agam,
Any updates on Arsenal Vs Advancers game..

this league is the worst.. how can some team reschedule rain out games and others cant.. ha ha ha I now see what some teams are talking about
f_n_f,
which team(s) are you referring to in particular? Cos it's been a known fact that if any team that has an individual in the "executive" committee or for that matter any other committee....their team is "allowed" these re-scheduling privileges while all other teams are subjected to the actual league rule that no game (if rained out or not) unless an immediate member of a player dies.
And I doubt if these favoritism will change no matter whoever is leading this league....the so called "league rules" are only enforced on the teams that don't have any "friends" in the management. Hard fact to accept...but it is what it is....gotta live with it move on with playing whatever cricket we can. :(
thank god i only watch and dont play in this league...

Cleo,
I have to disagree with you on this one.
Shekhs/Romeen,
It was nice seeing you guys at the park yestarday.
Ya lef to early man. It was kickn from 6pm. Da food was good, lots of ladies to go with da reggae and soca.
Rup,
Sorry I couldnt' make it. Had some errands I had to run on Sunday! What happened with the game?
MAN Adi sounds like a proffesor.
I thought you were more into cricket and females..Lol
Yeh we captains have got to step up and see that the rules are not broken for a special few.
Sorry Ya missed out. There is always a next time.
We won. will post the match report later if Sadiq or Jack don't beat me to it.
Rup,
I know I'll miss out on the festivities..what can you do, when the rugrats aint behavin.. :-)
I'm glad I left early, or else would've been a rough nite..
Congrats on a good win!
We'll celebrate the next one @ WP...09/09..
Thanks for the cold ones...owe you big!!
Hey Rup, we had fun, man. Thanks for the hospitality. All games should be that festive.
Good luck for the next game.
*I know* - I knew
Aditya,
First of all, my statement is not baseless as I have seen this happening with the previous "management" as well over 10 years ago ...before TA became president.
Yeh shekhs,
From the look of things right now 9/9/07 will be ICC last game for this season???.
We are going to make it a party atmosphere so we will have some fun.
This League is so CRAPPY and full of friend favors we will never get better...
What a joke...
So keep your fingers crossed..
Its not over yet maan..
Shekhs,
I like your way of thinking. of course we got to win but i feel springfield will get another Walk over and that our end.

----------
There were 2 reschedules or moves this weekend I think - Pak Gym vs Milwaukee United, and QC Kings vs Giants.

Naren,
A bunch of Challengers practiced yesterday...at least Nilesh did..I know that..
I did baby sit, @ James park Evanston.. :-)
I took my boyz over there...hung out with Raj, Rup and romeen...
QC Fan has best described the game situation and circumstances.
Fast N Furious - Perhaps you should share your specific situation with the team detail so we all can see if you have a valid claim.
Makes Sense?
I agree with Sadiq when he says that whatever the rules that are set for each season have to be upheld for all teams that season. Whatever "tinkering/bending"/exceptions of the rules has to be finalized and officially added to the MCC rules and only applied the following season. I also agree it may be unfair to have too many rainouts in one season...and there should be a rule added to correct this issue.
btw.... Preetam...how much is a Wii, and where did you pick one up from ...I have been debating with myself :) for the past few weeks on whether to buy a PS3 or the Wii.. How are the games for Wii?
Cleo,
I got mine for 249.95 from Walmart.
All the games that you get for PS3 or XBOX you can also get for wii.

I'm glad I left early, or else would've been a rough nite..
--------
Yes, pity you had to leave early.. and Romeen doesnt even have your rugrats excuse :-) I was there until about an hour and a half after the game ended, till about 7pm or so... stuck around, chatted, and had lots of good food (bbq chicken, jerk chicken, rice-and-peas, curry-rice, mac-n-cheese... they had salad and hotdogs and spaghetti with meatballs etc too, but I ignored those :-)
When I left (bit after 7 as I said), the party was still in mid-season rocking form, and looked set to go for a few more hours.

Sadiq i think it was that crazzzzzy white rum that got me.
Man that stuff was like fire. Drink that stuff straight and you may need an ambulance.
Can someone from MUCC post their thoughts on this? Rule is pretty clear, if the game is rained out it's a split.

What do people think?
==========================
I agree that rules should be written in stone for the season and if there is a change it should be implemented next season. But the irony is that rule has already been broken. Pak Gym is scheduled to play MUCC during the long weekend.
United with the help of other temas who are in a similar situation will fight this.

Adnan,
There is a reason you will never lead this league as a President. Everything from you is a personal attack towards MCC.
You are a negative person and it is greatly reflected by your action and words.
Be positive pal and one of these days you will be heard. No one will ever be willing to hear a negative man gripe.
Blatant favortism, this is exactly how TA works. why re-schedule only pak game. why not the others that have playoff implications. heck why even put out rules if we don't follow them. i thought re-schedules were only in case of emergency... rain is not an emergency however pak making it the playoffs is. i'd say just put pak in the playoffs all the teams that are playing them just give them a walkover... is that cricket?
pak you guys should be ashamed to even go through these lengths.
pappu yaar,
i don't think adnan is doin any personel attacks to the league over here what he is saying is all about pak why give them the favour to reschuling the game which is rained out and pak is low i can't beleif that.
That is very unfair to you guys.
pappu yaar,
looks like u are the negative person & u be positive put them in your shoes and think this is not fair at all.
That game is already rescheduled it was scheduled 8/26/07 now is scheduled on 9/15/07 so all the captain ask the league about this.
Dr. B,
Korhee... I was thinking If the rain came I was going to go get some rubber balls and play ball!!!!!. I needed the points badly but no that bad to not let the game play.
Gave credit to Suburban for wanting to play. they have not missed a game all season and look at their record. This is what I expect from all teams
Being a fellow west Indian you should know that if we want to play ball we play ball no matter the conditions.
Rup,
Yo talking about "rubber" and "balls". Guess we got em both.
No wonder I get so much pressure about my weeknds and cricket...
Rup:
All this "rubber" and "play balls" language. No wonder the weekend pressuer to come play cricket.....

This is coming from a very reliable source inside MUCC.

Please give me a break I think they are a VERY average bunch and rain may have help them rather than hurt them
Shekhs, Romeen, Adi, and the rest of the good bloggers where you guys at... Sleeping I guess.
Shekhs how about HB for this week end. Bloggers@HB.com
Rup:what kind stuff u on today?
Get to the president and get your game re-scheduled. The heat is on...its playoff time.
MUCC common over and post about the reschedule whether you were give opsion or not
did i not say I got balls *ukka.
In that case you have nothing to worry about Doosra, MUCC will kick the bajezus out of Pak Gym.
Rishi can you take over the management of this league we need people with good intentions
Dr b.
What drugs are you on??.
Me calling the president to get our game reschedule. Have you seen that cartoon whe Daffy Duck got shot by the Alien through the phone?.
Man I got a lot to live for like this weekend of Bloggers@hb.com.. Who is in?.
Well said Cleo...Right on
Hi,
I have been out of it the last few days, but I feel like I want to voice a STRONG opinion on the issue of the Pak Gym vs MUCC reschedule.
Get the picture? NO RESCHEDULE FOR RAINOUTS!!!!
Pukka Punjabi,
It doesn't matter how good Pak are, how dangerous they can be in the playoffs, how they won Div 1 last year, etc, etc.
NO RESCEDULE FOR RAINOUTS. Doesn't matter if you are Pak Gym or MUCC or Phoenix or whoever.
Call me scared, call me whatever. The rules apply the same to everyone!
Adi the professor again.
Like your thinking Adi. Keep it up as some day you will run this league for us.
Rup:
I have license to prescribe,so you can head to Moline this weekend and bring em boys so we acn all be on the same stuff.
Man this Rishi guy is gooood. This league will benefit from poeple like him. Buddy, why don'y you join a team or something and come attend meetings and make yo self known. Looks like Chally will nominate you.
Man,everyone is angry today. What the hell...were you all at the Evanston game?? I can understand Rup, but all you good people??
Ok *ukka,
I figure this much and i know my fellow blogger will back me.
You are a Blond with curly hear. By the time you finish combing it your brain stops working so the other body parts start thinking for you and for Blonds not good news.

Wow!! missed out the HOT stuff..
Rup,
Do you still have any aspirations to become MCC Pres next year? You mentioned several valid issues in the past so was wondering if you would agree to run next year so that we can officially nominate you and help run a campaign for you.
btw...this is no longer just regular blog talk...will you or will you not run....lets start there and then move from there to gather the required support.
What do u say ? Think about it seriously and let us now..
Only if South Asians could be blond Doosra!
Rain decide on a lot of places. Rain could make you stand on places where you don't want to.
Cruel, no!. It's called the world we live in, so live with it.
Rup,
I'm ignorant - whats Bloggers@hb.com?
I think I'm losing it..

But for this year, we must take up a stand.
Shekhs,
Thank you for your support.
Shekhs....
hb = aasmani badan
Get it now?? :):):)
Gotcha Adi....and Rup..
Thanks dude...lil slow here today.
:-)
Rup,
This week is gonna be touch for HB, as I'm baby sitting all week..
You guys go ahead and have fun..
PP,
It might have happened, but things like this must STOP.
Sheksh....
No harm in educating the kids a little early! :):)
Adnan,
How about we write a letter, and then email it to all the teams and ask them to reply with their support. Then we send in all the replies, the letter, etc to the management and copy everyone so that this is handled transparently and openly.
Thoughts?
Sheksh = Shekhs
Sorry!
Adi,
As for the support part, I'm definitely in for a good cause...I can talk to our team and let you know..
we probably should come up with some possible solutions..as of now...we only have a reason to protest...there is no path..

Sorry Adi,
didnt see your last post..
Yeah, nothing wrong in educating the kids....I wrote the code for DCFS' Child abuse system - tell you what..its pretty brutal..
:-)
Cleo,
when I said Solution - I meant, what are we going to do about this situation.?
I didnt notice any talk about that....how are we going to tackle this situation...?
Or can we tackle this situation..?
This is the litmus test fellas...
no that is not true we do want to play that game cuz we get some transfer and they will be in that game.
why don't u go ask rashid about this who want to re-schedule?
Thanks for reading.
well guys whatever is goin on is not good at all whatever happen in past and present we all must stop this nonsense and adi i will be there for u guys for protest.
-Alpesh

Correction to my Entry above:
I miss *not at the wrong place..:)
Please use good grounds when they are available as it gives a special dimension to the game itself..:)
But teams should *NOT take it too much to heart..
Adnan,
How about we write a letter, and then email it to all the teams and ask them to reply with their support. Then we send in all the replies, the letter, etc to the management and copy everyone so that this is handled transparently and openly.
Thoughts?
==================================
I think it would be better if all the teams who will be affected by this decision, contact the president and demand an explanation. The question I have is what IF management decides to continue to move forward with Pak Gym/MUCC game? What can we do? We already know it is happening. How do we stop it from happening?
I like the idea someone posted earlier. A total boycott of the playoffs, if management continues to move forward with the decision.

Adi you have to include this for all leagues.
Madew,
I can understand your point as when there is an available ground, a game can be moved.
What a Blond!!!!!!=*pukka
(Following needs to be read in one breath)
Only issue with this game was it wasn't a REschedule..it was originally scheduled for Moline for 26th Aug..but plans made to move it to CHicago for 25th...as per Giants request ..but then there were no grounds available in CHicago..was stated to go as per schedule..but Moline ground was flooded due to rain (there is creek on the left side that over flowed) and unplayable..Hence moved to Peoria on same scheduled DAY as per ORIGINAL schedule..I take a breath now..Its hard to state this sentence in one breath..:)
Adi, I am behind you an this letter of explanation.
I can't get Mgt to respond to my e-mails sent for other issues.
BTW, which team do you play for..if i care.
Thanks for reading.

Rup,
You are right. I ammend my statement to say that I didn't include Div 2 team names because there are just too many to name. But Div 2 MUST support this as well, because it affect the league as a whole.
Madew,
Thank you for your support and input on QCK and Gaints game.
Thanks,
TD

Pukka P,
Everyone here agrees that Pak Gym has got a raw deal.
We were given 2 choices:
a. To play the game at Hammond, IN ground

Adnan,
Boycotting the playoffs if management isn't going to heed our protest / request is likely to be difficult to organize and get all the teams on board!

Cleo..I am just trying to clarify my take on the comments about my team ...nothing to get pissed off

The game is this week end??
Aditya, the original ground (Whitewater) was unavailable and it was NOT DUE TO RAIN. Ask someone from MUCC why it was not available. And you are looking like a cry baby right now, not anyone else.

Have you ever tried diplomacy? it works.

Try coming up with positive solution on how to get things done in a civil manner and not threats of boycott.

Ok Raheel has just put another twister to this. "Ground not available".

Thats kinda harsh too :-) If Purdue's home ground is waterlogged when they play Bears (as a random example), the two teams arent asked to keep going all the way to St Louis to find a dry ground to play on, after all :-)
Anyway. With QC Kings and Giants playing that fantastic tied match (and both getting 2 points each, anyway)... most Div2 teams contending for the playoffs may not be as affected (and consequently not as up in arms :-) about this issue, anyway!
c8w
Sadiq bhai, the match was scheduled for WHITEWATER, so the water logged pitch argument doesn't hold as it wouldn't have been a home game anyways for MUCC at Lincoln Park. The University authorities at Whitewater didn't allow MUCC to play there for whatever reason and we were informed of this one day before, talk about last minute...

Why pak is the only team to have 5 rained out games. They play somewhere that we don't know of.
I tell you why
1)the are scared of getting drizzled on so they are the first to Rain me out?.
@)A bunch of old asses who think they will get hurt if the play in any other conditions than sun & dry
3)They need more beauty sleep on Rainy days.
BTW Raheel,
Why, again coming up with this bullshit answer.
Doosra,
This isn't something against Pak.
Ok Adi, I am out, I leave Pak alone.
Thanks for reading.

Anyway. Even for non-cricketing reasons, we ought to hope everyone catches a break with the weather really soon - that area, especially, cant take any more rain.
c8w
qcfan,
I hear you but you have to realize that when you make a decision that affects a few, That decision does not roll over to affect many.
Adi you are on a roll today I am loving it.. Adi for president..
Rup; quit yo nonsense and answer de man question:Cleo's
Rup, When i said water ..i should have been more clear by saying that river near to the ground flooded up until couple of feet inside the boundary line and receded close to the boundary by Sunday.
So it is more than a lake over there and it is not same as what you may have experienced in Evanston. Check with Nokhram as seems to have visited the ground the previous day if he had played a match over there.
Thanks for reading
thank you PAK. you and MGMT have done it again.

anyway raheel i got couple of questions before i take a side on this
1. game was scheduled to play on WHITEWATER, originally. yes?
2. MUCC informed you that ground was not available day before ?
3. did you agree to play on LINCOLN ? and then change yourmind after rain?
