Terabaap...stop being everybody's baap you moron....
I can come in using a nick and talk shit too...but I dont have to, coz I got my spine to stand straight..
You dont even have that...how the heck are you even gonna reproduce..dumb F#$$%#..
Obviously you dont like us..well then shove it... If you are a PAK Gym..guy...then be a man..and come out with your real name..
Shekhs, I'm quoting Pak Gym captain: "We don't know who Terabaap is, he's not a member of our team, we have been playing in this league for 15+ years and whenever we have a problem with someone we solve it face to face and don't go around people's backs talking crap. Please don't mention the Pak Gym name again like that with out confirming and refrain from swearing. We are on good terms with Challengers right now, let's keep it that way. I will also call Tushar and talk with him over the phone." -Rashid Khan
My comment was not against Pak Gym, or anybody from your team. It was intended for “terabaap”. I understand that Pak Gym has good relationship with challengers and I respect that.
predication 4 week#13 in div 1. 1.purdue-capitol.(purdue cause they r way better than capitol). 2.phoenix-mucc.(mucc is no match to phoenix). 3.Challengers-muslim.(good match-up i take the underdog in this one i think muslim will pull a upset here). 4.Pak-Bears.(i take the pak but i do have a bad feeling about this game all the pressure is on pak). 5.rogerspark-chargers.(rogerspark for sure). 6.AAA-Flamed.(Flamed in this one kiran to rescue once again). 7.United-Wildcats.(another good match-up i am taking united in this one).
Match Summary - Chargers vs. Rogers Park -------------------------- Rogers Park elected to field first and restricted Chargers to 181 in 45 overs. Disciplined bowling performances from Aamir, Affan, Sufian, Nasir and Faraz. Good knock by Sami who opened and got out in the 43rd over scoring 70 odd.
In reply, we got a flyer from Kamran (46) and Shiraz (34) with 60 runs in 6 overs. Great batting from Nasir (40) and Ali (38) to finish off the game.
Giants lost the toss and were put to bat. Opener Yaseen and Vajid negotiated the initial spell from Yawar and company. Yawar is pretty good and quick. Then came a great partnership between skipper Amer and a monster knock from Omer Farooqi 109 Not Out. Followed by some late over slogging by Waqas and Atif. Giants finished 251 in 40 Overs for 5 wkts.
Universal started disastrously by losing 3 wickets in first 8 overs. They stablilized a bit in the middle with some good batting by Yawar who scored 70 plus but unfortunately he was the only one that provided any resistance to Giant bowling attack. Atif (6 wkts), Yaseen (2 wkts) and Waqas (2 wkts).
Giants once again played without there 3 main players but found a way to get back on track.
Hafez Adam Menk of AAA has just scored another magnificent century against Flames. Word just came in that AAA bowled first and restricted Flames 245 in 25 overs. AAA started off slowly but surely. Last word was that they needed 37 in 5 overs with 5 wiks in hand. Hats Off to Adam for scoring back to back centuries.
AAA lost a very close game with FLAMES Flame batted first and put up 245 in 45 overs thans wholly to an individual effort from Tariq AAA stated rather slowly scoring 25 in about 8 overs and then lost 3 quick wkts Then came man of the moment Adam Menk who finished unbeaten on 123 AAA made 239 all out losing by only six runs For Flames Venkat bowled really well And did President Tariq but of course only becoz he a great deal of support from yhe umpire FARHAT he in my opinion is the worst umpire in the league Hetries to act all macho but is full of s... he obviously han every intention of ensuring that Flames won He called wides on AAA for balls that were clealy beating the batsmen who initialyy were really struglling he also did not give many wides to the Flames bowlers who wre bowling blatant wides and obviously gave sum LBW decisins at crucial times so as to disrupt the flow of AAA At one time he clearly was encoraging and even patting the Flames bwlers as if to urge them on Honestly guys if u are to play flames or i think any team that he umpires just be prepared for it It is very clear to note why he is widely disrespected by fellow bloggers
Cats won the toss and elected to bat first, we lost sumeet to the first ball of the match and then sanjay was also out early. Vikram joined Romeen and they played a very good knock without loosing any more wickets, they had a partnership of around 100, Vikram especially was playing very well scoring at will and moving the score along well. Vikram and Romeen both scored 50´s and we were in a good position scoring 150 odd in about 30 overs, then we lost Vikram and then Satyapal one after the other and Romeen soon followed without troubling the scorers. We lost wickets at regular intervals and from 150/2 we were all out for 193 of the last ball of the innings.
United started their innings and were going along well and the introduction of Nikhil as first change brought us 2 quick wickets of both the openers. Then Adnan and other batsman started playing cautiously for a couple of overs, and united were 56 for 15 overs, and they immediately lost 3 quick wickets in 2 overs including Adnan and Mehul, then came Yousuf who moved to united recently and boy he was playing so well, clearing the boundry without much effort, he and Mahesh were batting sensibly taking singles and an odd 4 or a 6. United had to score around 60 o the last 11 overs with nearly 5 wickets in hand and suddenly they lost Yousuf to a very good piece of fielding from Atul, and it changed the whole complexion of the game. Cats wrapped the game with united all out for around 137.
I have to mention that Yousuf was playing really good, and a player to watch ;-)
And I have to mention that the 3 quick wickets all went to naren who's too modest to mention his own name. :) Also,Nikhil took some great catches. Yousuf definitely seems like a very good player. As always, it was fun playing with the united guys.
what's up guys the blog is so quiet where is everybody where is shekhs. shekhs where is your summary for the game or do you only write when you won.......just kidding shekhs,or maybe everybody busy watching india's game.
About the Tendulkar LBW decision ... which was certainly a wrong one ... Has there been any instance in International Cricket where opposition has called back a batsman .. after he was given out LBW by the umpire ??
No idea abt International Cricket, but it happened in our MCC few weeks back .. in the match against NoStars Vs CCI at Washington Park ... Schon from NoStars was bowling to a CCI batsman .. one ball appeared to hit batsman's leg and Schon appealed for LBW .. Umpire gave the batsman out ... But the Keeper Naveen Aiyappa went to the Captain Prasanth Nair .. and told him that he saw that there was bat involved before the ball hit the batsman's pads ... So the Captain went to Umpire and told him about this ...and batsman was called back ...
Nice to see such sportmanship in MCC !!!
Kudos to the Captain n Keeper and the entire NoStars team for this behaviour ...
Shekhs, please give an update on ur game with muslim. I heard u got popped in your helmet and had to leave the game? Did you need stiches? These Muslims guys bowl fast and in your face. Ask pardeep last week he got hit few times. I advice all batsmen to wear helmets otherwise you might end up in the hospital with few less teeth or get stiches. As far as FARHAT he loves attention by creating drama every week with or without playing.. MAN LOVES ATTENTION. AAA if farhat made u loose the game y didnt he give ur top batsmen out? Just a tought!!
I have been pointing at Farhat and his low life behavior for a long time and its about time that the whole league gets a jist of it. His flamboyant behavior against Purdue last week and combined with this umpiring fiasco in AAA/Flames match up warrants his suspension. However, I doubt any action will be taken against him as he is Tariq's partner in crime. Or if any action is taken, it'd merely be a slap on the wrist.
In addition, a reliable source told me that it was Farhat who ordered Faisal to throw a beamer from halfway down the pitch at Ashwin and Faisal deliberately missed. Farhat's recent antics are just not juvenile and immature, they are criminal. p.s cricket411, I teamed with Farhat a long time ago, but now I try to stay away from him.
Thanks pukka punjabi, i knew only an X team mate can love FARHAT that much! I dont know how muslim players listen to him but i guess they listen to win!!!!
Game Report Challengers Vs Muslim Gym – 07/28/2007 Community Park, Hanover Park
Muslim Gym won by 43 runs.
Challengers won the toss and put MG to bat.
MG Openers started very cautiously, grafted very well. They kept their cool even though the run rate was around 2. Daxx bowled extremely well, was unlucky not to pick some early wickets. Challengers finally got a breakthrough when Daxx had Shehzad caught at point in the 10th over or so. Mahmoud came 1 down and played a gem of an innings, paced the MG innings appropriately, hit the odd boundaries. MG lost a couple of more wickets by 13 overs or so. Nilesh bowled Arif Khan on a beauty, a bowled that pitched outside the offstump and took Arif’s leg stump.
In came the big hitting Imran, who did hit a coupla big shots before he holed out to Nirav.
Mahmoud kept his cool at one end and anchored the innings really well, when wickets were falling at regular intervals.
Kamran, Afroze and Moe came and hit a few biggies to take MG to 218 in 45.
In reply, Challengers started disastrously, as Shekhs edged a ball from Rizwan, found the gap (It would be nice if I can find the gap between the fielders instead) between the grill and the top of the helmet. Shekhs had to sit out as Daxx walked in played a couple of big shots before he holed out to Rizwan. Darshan fell soon to Rizwan. Shital and Tushar steadied the ship for a while. Tushar hit a couple of big shots before top edging Arif to point. Shekhs came back only to be bowled by a beautiful late swinging Yorker from Arif. Shital was holding the other end all this time….Nirav gave him good company and it looked like Challengers would pull out another victory. Challengers needed only 88 runs of 22 overs with 4 wickets and Shital playing on 40 something and Mr. Ice Nirav Amin at the other end.
But, the determined MG made sure that they broke the important partnership and took wickets at regular intervals. Challengers were eventually bundled out for 175. We really need to be more consistent with our batting...!
pukka punjabi you werent at game when faisal bowled beamer so shut the fu%$ up because you don't know anything purdue cheat and win and then aswin admited and say sorry to us like 10 times. cricket411 you right about bouncer from muslim gymkhana bowlers next time we play pukka punjabi zimbo big berta better watch out because we turn you into fuc%$#@ small berta and send you back to muslim gymkhana school i am just keeping it real
Tit_for_Tat said... purdue cheat and win and then aswin admited and say sorry to us like 10 times.
Just to set the record straight: Purdue DID NOT cheat; I DID NOT admit it; I DID apologize but NOT for the reason mentioned!! I apologized for my agitated reaction to an incident involving me and Faisal (though I still believe what he did was wrong and mine was just a natural reaction to an act like that!)
The game was moved from Whitewater to Licoln Park. The game began a little late, but it was an ideal day to play cricket. Milw Utd won the toss and elected to bat.
The openers began circumspectly as there was some good bowling from the bowlers. Sharath started looking dangerous after hooking Arun for a boundary. However, Arun had his revenge and had Sharath out caught at midwicket. Badri got a life when Fabian dropped a direct catch at gully and went on to make a half century. However, Phoenix was able to keep the Milw Utd run-rate in check and kept getting wickets at regular intervals. There was some lusty hitting towards the end and Milwaukee United ended on 205 / 9 in 45 overs.
Phoenix began the chase well enough, but lost Shiva in the first 6 overs. Athreya played a true-to-form knock, but was caught at point against the run of play. Samir meanwhile was playing a sensible knock and I kept him company until I slashed at one only to see it snapped up gleefully at point. DC played the patient game and kept the score ticking with Samir who was caught going for maximum at Long On. With four wickets down for about 80+ runs, we were looking at our first sign of trouble. However, DC & Fabian had other ideas. They first consolidated and got their eyes in, playing through to the break. After the break, the equation read 109 to win in 22 overs. Without much fuss, or any risks, they went about their business putting up the most productive stand of the match. With about 30 runs to go, Fabian fell against the run of play for a sensible 37. Shortly afterwards, DC got out caught at Deep Midwicket for 40. With 2 new batsman at the crease (Naveen and Mitul), Milwaukee United were in with a sniff. The equation read something like 34 in 8 overs. Knowing the need for the 4 points and keep Phoenix in the Playoff hunt, Naveen and captain Mitul played sensible and firmly shut the door on Milw Utd with an unbeaten partnership.
Sadiq did a good job umpiring, and Milw Utd were good hosts and sporting opponents. One always enjoys playing a team like them, win or lose!
Tit_for_Tat: I am not part of the Purdue team this year, so you’ll have to put your fantasy of knocking me out on hold. Even if I were playing, it wouldn’t have bothered me. In practice, I’ve faced plenty of bouncers and wayward beamers from Ruchir and Chintan to be even remotely intimidated by such a threat. Also, let me introduce you to a concept (which might probably sound alien to you) called “logic”. I used to be like you once, ie. Always trying to prove to everyone how big my nutsack is by picking fights. Then, I grew up. You should do the same.
PS: When it comes to discussions and debates on public forums, my culture taught me to respect other's viewpoint. Otherwise, I am your Daddy, when it comes to abuse. LOL, don't even try. I can give you a taste of some road lingo that you’ve never heard. You get an itch, please scratch. Don't shout about it.
yeah Schmbg area sounds good, is it the one on Golf n Higgins? There's also one in Elk Grove, I think it's called Elk Grove bowling (Higgins n Arlington Hts Rd)
Shekhs, I'm doing fine, of course would like to convert those 20's n 30's into 50's :)
Anyone heard about Sanjubaba, got 6 yrs in jail :(
Romeen, can u please enter your team that played against anjuman on the 25th so that i can enter the scorecard. I cannot enter the scorecard until you have entered at least 7 players on your team. Thanx alot. Congrats to all the teams that won during the last weekend.
AL Tourney - Match Report: Chargers vs. Rogers Park
Match Result - Rogers Park Won by 81 runs -------------------------------- Rogers Park won the toss and elected to bat first and it was the Shiraz Najam show from the get go. Clean hard hitting all the way through the 18th over - resulted in a fantastic 103 from just 52 balls. The assault included 9 sixes and 4 fours. Ali (30), Kamran (26) and Nasir (16) were the other contributors. Rogers Park finished with a total of 195/6 in 20 ivers.
With 196 to win, Chargers started off on a bad note losing Sami in the first over and soon losing Irfan and Rafi to some excellent seam bowling from Arif Sheikh. Rafi Khan took 2 wkts and I took two wickets and the Chargers were all out in the 18th for 114.
It was a fantastic win and a great show to watch. Shiraz played one of the best knocks I have seen. Good Luck to the Chargers for the remainder of their games.
Another Game and another loss by a whisker. To use a well oiled cliche` If we didnt have any bad luck we would not have any luck at all. Collinsville is a good host except that they have to give better directions to their Pizza Hut guys.
Cover Fielder, Go to Blog May archives and see under MCC groudns thread...Bunch of stuff is posted about SIUE ground...Read those and let me know if you need more info..
You may want to look into the positives of having Krazy-Glue in yor team kit. The Dollar store down the street have em and I am sure you can get a years supply.
Two locals are currently trying out the Plam-bats.If they work (as I heven't heard back from those 2) then we can order some those as well.
Helloooooo,where is Rup,Chally,Goodwill_P(p*** off with someone/s?)
Yours_truly, Its just a 'cloth based' thin outdoor carpet, pretty well stuck/glued to the concrete pitch. No need of adding any jute matting..I believe they got carpet from Lowe's. Who every did the job, they did a one hell of a great one! Its batting paradise, but only thick outfield plays spoil-sport (atleast when we went). Its good ground all over minus the thick grass outfiled ofcourse..:)SIUE is a good bowling team. If they pick up couple of batsmen I think they are team to reckon with. Their Marketing prof. Dr. Ramana is taking care of it as he is trying get some funding for the new students there with good cricketing skills and stuff...watch for them next year..:)
Coverfielder Aka Pankaj,
SIUE is very fun team to play with..Enjoy and hope you guys have a good outing...Good luck to you guys and same goes to SIUE too..:)Please say hi to Shyam for me..
Thanks Sheikhs, I'll try my best and pray for the rest of the season.
Hope you are feeling alright.
There is a Bowling Alley right on Irving Park and little West of Barrington. Pretty nice place, with Bowling, Pool Tables, Arcade and Darts, so a bit for everyone.
Who writes the summaries for all the games on the MCC front page?
Look at the difference in content written about the Division one games as compared to the brief/passing one liners/comments for Division 2 games. There are equally as many close and interesting games in Division 2 as there are in Division 1.
If we know who is writing these summaries or responsible for editing them, we should allow for each team to be able to submit a little bit more detailed (more than what is listed in the weekly summary page of the site) to an individual/group so that others in the league can share in match details....almost like what is written as game summaries on this blog.
Cleo, Apparently it is someone who plays for division 1 or has affinity towards that division. After your mention i can see the step-childish treatment.
You are right about the summaries on the home page. You can see the disparity even within the Div 1 summaries as all the high profile teams get more attention than others. I think it should be a similar kind of summary for all games played.
Guys, With respect to the updates on the summary page: That is a hard job to do. First off, you have to wait and wait for teams to enter the scorecards/summaries to even get a feel for what you going to write. I did it for 4+ years and my god, the headlines were getting cliche'd ! and boring!
So, hats off to Shiva for doing a much better job! Getting the teams to send him a quick 2 lines is a great idea but we - the teams - need to get that to him by Monday afternoons for that to work.
With regards to the United game: Baaaaah ! :) 10 more runs and maybe we might have pulled this one out. But 114 is going to be hard to defend, period! and yet we managed to make a game out of it.
We batted like idiots again; we could not capitalize on a flying start (thanks to Ruchir :)...man, this guy is fast !). United spinners brought the game back for them and we kept giving them wickets in a timely fashion ! Story of Arsenal's batting this season was followed to the T........
With regards to the IIT game: BAAAAAH ! :). I luv watching Lakshmi bat. That dude is a rockstar. He made a brilliant ton; He was the lone warrior for IIT and we did limit them to 175. While chasing we were 75/2 in 13 and 100/2 in 20, and I for sure thought we had this game but then thanks to a few awesome caught and bowled outs and thanks to our guys throwing our wickets away, we lost by 6 runs. Another game we had that we gave away but then there are atleast 2 games this season that we had no business winning and still won......so I guess what goes around comes around :)
Arsenal vs IIT IIT won the toss and elected to bat. Lakshmi and Vasu started off very well and were going strong scoring at will almost 7-8 runs per over. Out of the first 70-80 runs Lakshmi had scored his 50 runs without any close calls. Then came some super fielding from Prakash who got three run outs of which the big one was of Ajay Gandhi. Fielding at deep point on the 30 yard he dove to his left and threw a direct throw to the keeper off balance to find Ajay well short of his crease. Wickets kept falling at one end but Lakshmi was in no mood to get out. Ultimately IIT were all out for 174 in the last over.
Arsenal began the chase very well with Swetal starting off confidently and played some exquisite drives and pulls. As has happened this season he was out to a very good single hand caught & bowled catch. But still at the break Arsenal was at 97/2 with a real good chance to win. Surya played some glorious shots but was out trying to force the pace. IIT then fought back to claim the next 6 wickets for 40 runs. The last 2 wickets almost pulled it off (once more) with 7 runs required in the last over but a run out ended the match with 3 balls to spare and 5 runs to win.
Excellent game with both teams fighting till the end with IIT taking some brilliant catches that tilted the result in their favor.
Hard Luck Swetal :( .Div -2 top 4 seems to be really very close together even with regard to NRR. IIT, I guess is gonna find the going tough with PCC and advancers still to play. any predictions for this weekend's PCC V IIT .My vote for PCC as its in their backyard !Madhu a century in the offing ?? ;)
I know joo in my corner....But we ain't gonna loose this weekend 'cause we ain't got no game this weekend....:)
who is god: For me, PCC - IIT easily is the Div-II game of the weekend :)...tough one to call....but I think PCC has the edge in the bowling department while IIT has the edge in the batting department...mind you that statement is based on the fact that I have not seen Bola bat or bowl :).
I think PCC has an edge...coz they seem more balanced to me.. IIT- Laxmi scored a hundred last weekend..so LOA says he aint scoring big...
and Madew is my buddy..so I'll stick with PCC.. :-)
Swetal...I meant to bet against you even if you didnt have a game....with your luck..you might still get a game scheduled...and I dont want to say no more.. :-)
Sheks, Swetal, who is God, Thanks for all your support. We are very much looking forward to this game. Its very exciting to play IIT always. I think definitely like sweatal reiterated, IIT are by far best fielding side. We got see them in action last year when they defended 156 runs in our own backyard with some scintillating cathing. This will be a litmus test for PCC as we forge along into the season. It will be a cracker of game, our team is very much looking forward to host IIT at Mossville. Bola is in for this game. You will get a match report right away what ever be the result is...I hope PCC comes out on the top..and every one would agree...Cricket is a very funny game..It can be anybodys on a given day...
Swetal/Shiva, I was just stating a fact. No offense meant. We know all this is voluntary and you are defenitely doing more than what I am contributing for Midwest cricket. I appreciate it.
Preetam: I had not taken any offense at all. Was just trying to convey that it is hard to come up with things to right in third person and more difficult when teams do not enter scorecards/summaries by Monday evenings.
With respect to contributing, we all do what we can and I have not done anything worthwile this season. No worries mate.
Told you man, I've been a lil busy. Anyway Sheky, big game for you guys this weekend. No offense, but the way these Cats are playing, I think you guys are going to get beat silly.
Firstly, Wildcats vs Challengers is going to be a cracker of a game. It's so difficult to bet against the cats, but I'm going to do that this time and be brave or stupid! First loss of the season?? We'll find out. Either way, the game of the week for Div 1.
Game of the week for Div 2, has to be the PCC vs IIT game. I know little about both teams to wager any bets, but I gotta go with my boyz - Madhu, Bola, Kiran, Vijay. Either way, I think it's gonna be fun.
I think Tango's being a little harsh. But I would suggest some things:
1. Bat first 2. Bat sensibly and aim for a score of 230+ (that should be competitive)
I think that is the best chance for any team to beat the cats, specially when they are without Ajit. With him, you have to add another 30 runs at least. But I'll agree, it's not easy, coz they are the CATS.
SIUE Cricket Club Q.C. Kings could be a tight game...
And of course I'm interested in a tie between my old teams SPI and No Stars....any tips? :-)
Universal Vs Advancers - Advancers Jolly Rovers Vs Tigers - JR CCI Chicago Acers - CCI Eagles Warriors - Eagles West Suburban XI Continental -Cont SIUE Cricket Club Q.C. Kings - QC in a nail biter Peoria Cricket Club IIT - PCC - nail biter again Lucky XI Madison Cricket Club -Madison Springfield NoStars Cricket - ?? Jaguars Evanston - Jags look good.
I know bat sensibly is such an obvious thing to say. But really, who does bat sensibly consistently? The wildcats! But I think you guys have the potential to be more explosive, especially when they don't have Ajit.
Thanks for the vote of confidence. Watch out for Naren. He may look innocuous, but trust me, he isn't. He can break partnerships and take wickets. He just has that knack. They have a bunch of weapons, Satish, Nikhil, Sanjay, Balaji, etc.... but Naren is the unknown one this year.
That's a great analogy. You don't think that SA should be the best, or that they have the most talented players, but they have plenty of talent to beat everyone and somehow end up doing so. Same for the Cats. They have plenty of talent, and great defense, to win games!
ah, ok. Right! Oh well, I thought I'd prized out a few of compliments from Tango! I know Tango compliments are rare and rumoured to be wonderful, so I was hopeful!
Allright Tango. I did an analogy session between international cricket teams and Div 1 teams. Lets have your analogies between Div 1 teams and NBA teams... and why!
You guys are one of the best teams in Div 1, sure in for the playoffs, extra games in a shortened season, and gunning for your 3rd or 4th championship? What do you need compliments for?
It's been so long since you've "bashed" anyone, or spiced up the blogs! It's not about how we're playing, but about getting some Tango chatter going. We're just trying to facilitate the humour man!
Romeen, Shekhs, Swetal, etc thought of having a candlelit memorial service coz we hadn't heard from you in forever. Looks like it'll just have to be for N_W. Where's he at?
I'm on a roll today. I must say, I should have probably compared the Heat to United CC, and St.Louis to the Jazz. With Mehul carrying UCC to a championship like Wade.
That's pretty funny man. I was surprised not to see United in there, but your later comment made sense. That's the kinda stuff the blog needs. Now, where is everyone else to jump in on this discussion and spice it up?
Hey guys, Good discussions today! Thanks for all the good things being said about the wildcats, we appreciate it. But the challengers have always been a very tough side for us to beat, and as everyone correctly mentioned, without Ajit, its very difficult (someone said add another 30 runs with him, I'd add much much more). Anyway, hopefully it'll be a good game. Nice analogies, Tango. I realize that everybody is gone for the day.I have something that maybe we can discuss tomorrow. With all the 'mental disintegration' stuff going on in the Ind-Eng series, what do you guys think about sledging in our own games.I think almost everybody agrees that foul language has no place on the field in our league, what kind of banter should be allowed, if any?
------------ Sundries said... Arsenal vs IIT -------
One of the best games of the year, IMHO. A terrific see-saw battle all the way thru, with first one team and then the other being dominant. And some terrific cricket all around.
Laxmi was awesome in the morning. IIT were 73/0 in 10 overs, with Laxmi completing his fifty. (Prakash is one of the quicker bowlers around, and a couple huge pulled sixes over squareleg off his bowling were awesome). Then Kumar bowled a wicket-maiden, and the turnaround began. Prakash got 2 runouts in the next few overs (including league-leading rungetter Ajay Gandhi for a second-ball duck), and IIT slid to 100/5. Arsenal's spin attack, probably the best in the division, brought them back into the game. (Kumar is one of the best leggies in the entire league IMHO, and with Sanjeev and Narasimha for backup Arsenal has a quite terrific spin attack). Laxmi throttled back and carried IIT to the end - he really hit only with the last-man in after that, and ended up being last man out for 110 off 94 balls (out of 174 allout). Awesome innings, 5 sixes in all (2 pulled, 1 over point, one driven over cover etc). The spinners bowled 24 overs for 72 runs between them (Kumar came on at 60/0 in 8 overs, during field restrictions, and had 8-2-23-2!)
Arsenal started terrifically, and despite a sensational one-handed caught-and-bowled off a Swetal straight-drive, they were cruising at 97/2 after 20 overs. They went to 110/2 in 23 overs (only 65 more to win in 17 overs!)... and then Kumar holed out, Sanjeev was runout and Surya bowled, and Arsenal had lost 3/6 in 3 overs! They continued to slide further, to 131/8 (one more terrific one-handed caught-and-bowled, by the same bowler, Vijay of IIT!)... and then, with IIT now dominant, Arsenal's tail fought all the way back. It looked over at 146/9, but the last pair kept battling, and then Prasanna smacked a huge six to leave 12 to win in 12 balls! It was down to 7 to win in the last over, and to 6 in 4 balls when one final runout ended what had been a fantastic game.
With the new rules, the regular-season champion it seems will be promoted to Div1 right away (I like this system, but only if everyone plays everyone - at the moment I think it sort of depends on luck of the draw, how hard your schedule is, and Iam not sure thats entirely fair). But anyway... at the moment, *four* teams are tied with one loss each! They are Peoria, IIT, QC Kings and Advancers.
The big game (maybe of the year) is this weekend, with Peoria taking on IIT. I too think Peoria will probably shade this one, with IIT a little depleted this weekend (and now apparently with Maninder Bola back for Peoria). Should be a heck of a game, though.
romeen, how come you guys have not posted the rained out game in day and made no attempts to post night loss? is it to give the impression you guys are still undefeated? what is the hold up? inquiring minds want to know.;)
could the pussycats be out of the night playoffs? are they too aged for the fast version of the game? slow and methodical does not pan out in 20/20... what say you Romeen.
2 good games this week. kutis and mgc, i take kutis cats and challengers, take the cats naren should clean up.(not much of a challenge) phoenix on the rise but i take bears in the ultimate upset. bears playing for pride if the have any left! what say you hammad? Pak take out overrated mcc! royal easily over capitol, look for shetul to score ;) rest is boring!!!
cmc, We do not wante to give the impression that we are 'undefeated', in fact, personally, I think thats too much pressure and rather unnecessary. I agree we should have been prompt in posting the nite game but that was mostly due to logistic reasons and not a tactic. In fact within hours of the game we had something on the blog that pretty much said how we got our butts kicked by a spirited anjuman team. To answer your question about the so-called rained out game, there's a decision pending on that one. Are the wildcats too old for the 20/20 format. I dont know, I cant answer that question, maybe you have an outsiders perspective (assuming you are not a wildcat yrself :) ),and you can tell us what you think. A lot has been said about age and all I want to say is that if one can stay fit and compete, thats good enough. Hope this answers your questions. Good to have you back.
To answer your question about the so-called rained out game, there's a decision pending on that one.
care to elaborate on that? and why is it that everyone else accpets the decisions but you guys have to circumvent the rules? the game is rained out split points. that's sounds easy enuff!
cmc, The Wildcats- Rogers Park game was excitingly poised when it rained for about 20-30 minutes and then the sun came out. The outfield was still wet and ideally one would have waited for conditions to improve and then resumed. However, on that particular day, it wasnt that straight forward cuz there was a 30-30 night game that was scheduled to start at 4 PM. So our game was called off. Incidentally, the night game did take place (about an hour behind schedule). So, this was not a typical 'rain out' situation, we got 'timed out'. I'm sure Asmar and Shiraz will have their side of the argument, but we feel that this is an interesting situation and it could come up again. We'll be happy to accept whatever decision is handed out to us. So as far as your allegation about us not accepting rules goes, I think its baseless. We will accept the decision, it just hasnt been handed out to us yet. Thanks.
the way you guys perfomed against anujuam, it seems that way. so asmer did you guys accept the 2 points? or is that for a diffenrent game. and why in the world is this taking so long? time out rain out, what is the difference. if it rains all day do and you wait for the rain to be over. then it can be said that you ran out of time. Romeen these are utter excuses and a blatant disregard for the rules. 12.5.2. TIME: Every team shall strive to complete the match within the allotted time.
12.5.2.1. Each team in Division I and Division II will be allowed 3:15 hours to complete their quota of 45 overs and 40 overs respectively. This is inclusive of the drinks break in between. The game was not finished in the alloted time. split the points!!! what am i missing?
Hey Shekhs, I agree with you.(although I have to admit rather sheepishly that I have been both at the giving and receiving end of foul language, and am not particularly proud of that). Witty and funny banter is actually a lot of fun. There are a couple differences when we compare our league to lets say, international games. I think we tend to know players from other teams very well, in some cases, they are our best friends, I think that plays into it too. That could make you either too friendly on the field or you could say, hey, you know what I'm gonna give my friend a hard time and try and get him out.
cmc, what you are missing is that those rules are for completion of game in 'ideal' conditions, it does not mention rain breaks and definitely no mention of a new game starting after that one. Again, we'd love to share the points, the delay is not from us, and I say this for the last time, the decision is pending. before we kill fellow bloggers of ennui with our exchanges back and forth, maybe we should talk about something else, like sledging , for instance :) I get the feeling you are going to sledge the heck out of me when you play us :)
Shekhs said: Swetal...I meant to bet against you even if you didnt have a game....with your luck..you might still get a game scheduled...and I dont want to say no more.. :-) ---------- Shekhs: Hence forth you are my Salim Phekoo (character from the movie "The Angrez"....I strongly recommend watching this movie if you guys have not...bunch of hyderabadi taporees speaking hyderabadi hindi....& please put your brains aside when you watch it)
So Shekhs: You my phekoo cause one min you got my back, next min you don't ! WTF, man?! :)

Shekhs said: how about our game with the Cats....where you gonna put your money..? :-) ----------- My money on the better team on sunday :)
Hey guys... Adi,Shekhs and CMC thanks for considering me a bowler, but i am still learning so let´s c how i perform this sunday against a very good team Challengers..
I guess Adi is having fun pulling my leg once in a while ;-)
nice try ro but not falling for that one! so just to beat the dead horse one more time. this is not a unique situation the game was not completed in the alloted time regardless of weather or bad light. only the finals were made an ecxeption and i think you guys played in that game as well. not to sound like a conspiracy not but me thinks there is somethng strange about that.
I was under the assumption that the 'decision' was handed out in this one - the came was called a rain out, wasn't it? Are we waiting on someone else for this decision?
I completely understand your side of the story as there is no doubt your team was in a better position to win this game but to call the game 'interesting' implies that there was some wrong doing on our part. Its not our fault that it rained heavily that day. In my opinion the ground was not playable and the umpire agreed.
Your team had the upper hand but you know these kind of things happen in cricket. India getting a draw on the last day against England (just a few days ago)who were in a more commanding position than your team but the decision was accepted.
You shouldn't take these 'Oldies' comments to heart. Wildcats have been kicking butt for a long long time, so when everyone (including myself) make fun of you calling you guys, "Oldies" or "Washed up", its just the frustration talking.
Asmar, I was being matter of fact when I said 'interesting', I dont think we have a clear upper hand. There was no wrong doing on your part (and if I thought so, I wouldnt imply it, I'd say it), but there's none on our part either. We have made an appeal (which is totally within our right) and are waiting for the decision. If we are asked to split the points, we'll happily accept it. I hope you understand. Thanks
cmc, Thats OK, its your opinion and I respect that. And I havent lost any respect for you cuz I dont even know you. tango, I didnt take the oldies comment to heart, I think it has some truth to it. I think the older players have to work harder to compete. But I do know that a lot of my teammates do put in that effort.
I think its alright, as long as it doesn't get too personal. For instance, I'll make fun of someone for being slow, but I refrain from calling someone 'Fat' or 'Old', atleast on the cricket field :)
romeen whats up with this sledging thing why u asking everyone about this it looks like that Krishna wanna do some sledging & u can't hold him any more.......
Wildcats are alright to the most part. But honestly Romeen, there is only one thing that bothers me about you guys-Your team has more whiners than any other team in the league.
True, but I think most of the teams in our league are well behaved. There are only a few exceptions like Farhat, who don't know where to draw the line.

You dont even have that...how the heck are you even gonna reproduce..dumb F#$$%#..
Obviously you dont like us..well then shove it...
If you are a PAK Gym..guy...then be a man..and come out with your real name..
Shekhs, I'm quoting Pak Gym captain:
"We don't know who Terabaap is, he's not a member of our team, we have been playing in this league for 15+ years and whenever we have a problem with someone we solve it face to face and don't go around people's backs talking crap. Please don't mention the Pak Gym name again like that with out confirming and refrain from swearing. We are on good terms with Challengers right now, let's keep it that way. I will also call Tushar and talk with him over the phone." -Rashid Khan
Kon hai bhai ye terabaap?
Raheel don't worry nobody is questioning the integrity of Pak Gym. They are definitely one of the most respected teams in the league.
Raheel,
Chill yaar. There will always be haters. Can't let them get to you, especially those who don't even reveal themselves.
Take care,
Asmar
Raheel/ Rashid,
Thanks for clarifying.
My comment was not against Pak Gym, or anybody from your team.
It was intended for “terabaap”.
I understand that Pak Gym has good relationship with challengers and I respect that.
No hard feelings..!
Peace out..
I'm chill(ed), I was just the messenger for the cap! Shekhs, ofcourse no hard feelings.
Raheel,
Sorry - didn't mean to butt in...just bored at work :-)

Match Summary - Chargers vs. Rogers Park
--------------------------
Rogers Park elected to field first and restricted Chargers to 181 in 45 overs.
Good luck to the Chargers in the upcoming games.

Chicago Giants vs Universal CC Update.
AAA lost a very close game with FLAMES
Flame batted first and put up 245 in 45 overs thans wholly to an individual effort from Tariq
AAA stated rather slowly scoring 25 in about 8 overs and then lost 3 quick wkts
Then came man of the moment Adam Menk who finished unbeaten on 123
AAA made 239 all out losing by only six runs For Flames Venkat bowled really well And did President Tariq but of course only becoz he a great deal of support from yhe umpire FARHAT
he in my opinion is the worst umpire in the league
Hetries to act all macho but is full of s...
he obviously han every intention of ensuring that Flames won
He called wides on AAA for balls that were clealy beating the batsmen who initialyy were really struglling
he also did not give many wides to the Flames bowlers who wre bowling blatant wides and obviously gave sum LBW decisins at crucial times so as to disrupt the flow of AAA
At one time he clearly was encoraging and even patting the Flames bwlers as if to urge them on
Honestly guys if u are to play flames or i think any team that he umpires just be prepared for it
It is very clear to note why he is widely disrespected by fellow bloggers
Wildcats Vs United
Also,Nikhil took some great catches.
Yousuf definitely seems like a very good player.
As always, it was fun playing with the united guys.
does any body know the result of continental Vs Adavancers game?
what's up guys the blog is so quiet where is everybody where is shekhs. shekhs where is your summary for the game or do you only write when you won.......just kidding shekhs,or maybe everybody busy watching india's game.
j_4_all,
Will give a report as soon as I get a chance..
It will be nice if one of the Muslim Gym folks can type up a report, as they deserve to do it...
shekhs muslim guys never do so whenever u got a chance give us some update thanks ........
I think Muslim guys are out protecting Farhat since AAA guys seem to be really pissed off at him.....
Pukka punjabi r u Farhats x team mate since u love him so much!!!
Game Report
Challengers Vs Muslim Gym – 07/28/2007 Community Park, Hanover Park
India need 70 runs to win the test match beautiful swing bowling by zaheer & R.P.singh.Sreeshanth have to chill out & work a little bit on his swing.
Shekhs Sir ..
hope you are doing fine .. Take Care Sir ..
pukka punjabi you werent at game when faisal bowled beamer so shut the fu%$ up because you don't know anything purdue cheat and win and then aswin admited and say sorry to us like 10 times. cricket411 you right about bouncer from muslim gymkhana bowlers next time we play pukka punjabi zimbo big berta better watch out because we turn you into fuc%$#@ small berta and send you back to muslim gymkhana school

Thanks Romeen..not a biggie..

Shekhs,

Samir
Shekhs,
Glad to hear it was a minor injury! You should definitely try and find the gap between fielders instead!! But don't ask me how to do that!
Milw Utd vs Phoenix update
Samir, definitely will let you know...it wont be any secret...
Howya been?
Thanks Aditya...will try to look for the gaps between the fielders..
Take care Shekhs. Need to find a good spot for bowl/pool.
How about in Schaumburg area ...any pointers, anybody?
yeah Schmbg area sounds good, is it the one on Golf n Higgins? There's also one in Elk Grove, I think it's called Elk Grove bowling (Higgins n Arlington Hts Rd)
Shekhs,
I'm doing fine, of course would like to convert those 20's n 30's into 50's :)
Anyone heard about Sanjubaba, got 6 yrs in jail :(
Ram,
Thanks. Checkout metromix.com...that'll probably give you some ideas..
Samir,
Good to hear from you..maybe you could tell me how to make the 20s...or 30s.. :-)
Romeen, can u please enter your team that played against anjuman on the 25th so that i can enter the scorecard. I cannot enter the scorecard until you have entered at least 7 players on your team. Thanx alot. Congrats to all the teams that won during the last weekend.
mastakilla,
I apologize for the delay, we'll take care of it ASAP.
Thanks
AL Tourney - Match Report: Chargers vs. Rogers Park
Match Result - Rogers Park Won by 81 runs
--------------------------------
Rogers Park won the toss and elected to bat first and it was the Shiraz Najam show from the get go.
Regards,
Asmar

Pranav, I am just curious to know your interest in QC Kings team.
Have played with them before or currently playing or do you have friends playing for that team.
Honest question.
Thanks.
Not a single comment from TANGO bhai ... in this thread ... Wow ... this is news ... Should we call 911 asking him to find Tango for us :)
Does anyone know about the pitch at SIUE cricket ground. Is it ASTRO-TURF or MAT? I don't see any info on the MCC website about it.
Any information on this will be much appreciated.
Thanks

Madhu,
Really appreciate your response. I got the information about the ground from your posting in May.
Wish you good luck for the weekend game. We have a long drive before actually playing some cricket :-)

Madew, In the earlier update on SIUE ground, you mentioned that carpet on top of concrete pitch. Do they put jute matting or not?
Just curious because that would make a lot difference ...without matting as for as bounce is concerned.
Thanks.
Rup:
You may want to look into the positives of having Krazy-Glue in yor team kit. The Dollar store down the street have em and I am sure you can get a years supply.
Two locals are currently trying out the Plam-bats.If they work (as I heven't heard back from those 2) then we can order some those as well.

dr b;
Your got your b's and p's messed up,just like you sounded.
Are you a hater? People like you still exist?
Anyone-else hate ICC. You all will get your happiness out of you cravings,if not yet done so. Haters
Your "b" is backwards and it sounds just as dumb as it/you looks.
You hate ICC?
Which corner you from? Seems like you just surfaced.
Go ahead and reply...let it out...I am scared.
Looser. Come better than that.
Confuse yourself,if you haven't done so yet.
Yours_truly,
Its just a 'cloth based' thin outdoor carpet, pretty well stuck/glued to the concrete pitch.
Cheers

Forgive my ignorance ..i am little drunk ..you bloggers and all ICC haters..you are all bunch of losers
1232 E. Irving Park Rd, Streamwood, IL, 60107
I'm doing good thanks!
Yeah, we can check that place out...
I'll see you out there..!
dr b.
You are still drunk..you icc hater(s)..
Any ideas/thoughts?
Cleo,
Apparently it is someone who plays for division 1 or has affinity towards that division. After your mention i can see the step-childish treatment.
Cleo/Preetam:
I used to write the summary page but this season, I beleive it's Shiva (Phoenix) who is writing it.
-s
Swetal,
Wazzup?
you have a game this weekend?
Swetal,
Any updates on night game Arsenal and United from last night?
Cheers
Madhu
Cleo,
You are right about the summaries on the home page. You can see the disparity even within the Div 1 summaries as all the high profile teams get more attention than others. I think it should be a similar kind of summary for all games played.
Regards,
Asmar
Madhu -
I umpired the night game - United won by 4 wickets in the last over. Arsenal fought well after scoring 114.
Regards,
Asmar
swetal , your game with IIT seems to hav been a thriller ?? summary please?
Asmar,
Oh! man what a match..Thanks for the update..Hard luck Arsenal.. all Arsenal games are so close..They are fighting very well..!
Congrats United!
Another great cricket game!
Cheers
Madhu
Guys,
With respect to the updates on the summary page:
That is a hard job to do.
With regards to the United game:
Baaaaah !
With regards to the IIT game:
BAAAAAH !
Arsenal vs IIT
IIT won the toss and elected to bat.
--Narasimha
Shekhs,
We not going to loose this Weekend.....wanna put some money on it ? :)
-s
I'm with you brutha...you keep forgetting that I'm on your side.. ..:-)
With the kinda luck you have, maybe I should put some money..
how about our game with the Cats....where you gonna put your money..? :-)
Hard Luck Swetal :( .Div -2 top 4 seems to be really very close together even with regard to NRR. IIT, I guess is gonna find the going tough with PCC and advancers still to play. any predictions for this weekend's PCC V IIT .My vote for PCC as its in their backyard !Madhu a century in the offing ?? ;)
Yawn.....
Was out for summer back now. What's cooking?
Too much of catching up to do.
Shekhs,
I know joo in my corner....But we ain't gonna loose this weekend 'cause we ain't got no game this weekend....:)
who is god:
For me, PCC - IIT easily is the Div-II game of the weekend :)...tough one to call....but I think PCC has the edge in the bowling department while IIT has the edge in the batting department...mind you that statement is based on the fact that I have not seen Bola bat or bowl :).
PCC Vs IIT
I think PCC has an edge...coz they seem more balanced to me..
IIT- Laxmi scored a hundred last weekend..so LOA says he aint scoring big...
and Madew is my buddy..so I'll stick with PCC.. :-)
Swetal...I meant to bet against you even if you didnt have a game....with your luck..you might still get a game scheduled...and I dont want to say no more.. :-)
Sheks, Swetal, who is God,
Thanks for all your support.
Swetal/Shiva,
I was just stating a fact. No offense meant. We know all this is voluntary and you are defenitely doing more than what I am contributing for Midwest cricket. I appreciate it.
Preetam:
I had not taken any offense at all. Was just trying to convey that it is hard to come up with things to right in third person and more difficult when teams do not enter scorecards/summaries by Monday evenings.
With respect to contributing, we all do what we can and I have not done anything worthwile this season.
No worries mate.
Itnay sannataa kyoon hai, bhai?
I have an APB out on Tango and NW...where u guys at ?
Tango/ n_w,
you guys dont even make the predictions these days..
still alive? or you finally got nailed?
Shekhs,
Told you man, I've been a lil busy.
Either way, the
game of the week for Div 1.
Shekhs,
Tango's just giving you some ammo to get aggro for the cats game. Use it wisely!
Game of the week for Div 2, has to be the PCC vs IIT game. I know little about both teams to wager any bets, but I gotta go with my boyz - Madhu, Bola, Kiran, Vijay. Either way, I think it's gonna be fun.
Oh yeah Tango...I'm with you on this...
The way cats are playing..?
The way...we are playing...I would bet against ourselves... :-)
Thanks Aditya for the prop...I tried to be wise...
:-)
Tango, NW,
Guys, where are your predictions? C'mon... some key games in Div 1 and 2. Thoughts?????
This week the games are going to be really good.
You have got the three big ones.
St.Louis vs Muslim
Cats vs Challengers
MCC vs Pak Gymkhana
A few tough games between mediocre teams.
Phoenix vs Bears
Flames vs Chargers
Then we have the battle of the minnows.
Capitol vs Royals
Milwaukee United vs AAA
Div 1 Key Games:
St Louis vs Muslim
Flames vs Chargers
Milw CC vs Pak Gym
Phoenix vs Bears
Capitol vs Royals
Only reason these are key is because they have impact on the continued lifelines of each team in order to make the playoffs.
Shekhs,
I'll give you a couple of pointers.
1. Make sure you get Sanjay Patel to play.
2. If you win the toss, BAT FIRST. Your bowlers are far more reliable than your batsman.
3. Pray to God.
So, predictions anyone for Div 1 games?
Anybody able to provide some info on key games for Div 2?
Shekhs,
I think Tango's being a little harsh. But I would suggest some things:
1. Bat first
2. Bat sensibly and aim for a score of 230+ (that should be competitive)
I think that is the best chance for any team to beat the cats, specially when they are without Ajit. With him, you have to add another 30 runs at least. But I'll agree, it's not easy, coz they are the CATS.
Div 2
SIUE Cricket Club Q.C. Kings could be a tight game...
And of course I'm interested in a tie between my old teams SPI and No Stars....any tips? :-)
Universal Vs Advancers - Advancers
Jolly Rovers Vs Tigers - JR
CCI Chicago Acers - CCI
Eagles Warriors - Eagles
West Suburban XI Continental -Cont
SIUE Cricket Club Q.C. Kings - QC in a nail biter
Peoria Cricket Club IIT - PCC - nail biter again
Lucky XI Madison Cricket Club -Madison
Springfield NoStars Cricket - ??
Jaguars Evanston - Jags look good.
Tango, Shekhs, anyone,
What are your suggestions on playing the Bears? Anyone gonna picks a side in this game?
Adi,
Bat sensibly is a good suggestion...we'll definitely try that one.. ;-)
I personally like to bat first.....but its all upon the team..
I think 225 and above should be a good score to defend against with our bowling..
Aditya,
If Ajit isn't around, then the Challengers can even defend a score of around 200.
I just don't see that happening. Those Cats are too bloody good and smart. They're like the San Antonio Spurs of the MWCC.
Adi,
My opinion,
Phoenix over Bears....
I would say Bat first in this scenario ...put up 225 or so..you guys should make it..
Shekhs,
I know bat sensibly is such an obvious thing to say. But really, who does bat sensibly consistently? The wildcats! But I think you guys have the potential to be more explosive, especially when they don't have Ajit.
Tango,
Can I say then Challengers are the Lakers.. ;-)
You name Shaq and Kobe...coz I aint either of them ... :-)
I dont mind being Derek Fisher and shooting that ball in with 4/10th of a sec left....
Hey, Lakers(before Shaq got traded) can beat San Antonio
Shekhs,
Thanks for the vote of confidence. Watch out for Naren. He may look innocuous, but trust me, he isn't. He can break partnerships and take wickets. He just has that knack. They have a bunch of weapons, Satish, Nikhil, Sanjay, Balaji, etc.... but Naren is the unknown one this year.
Tango,
That's a great analogy. You don't think that SA should be the best, or that they have the most talented players, but they have plenty of talent to beat everyone and somehow end up doing so. Same for the Cats. They have plenty of talent, and great defense, to win games!
Rumor has it that Bears will be changing there name soon. They will be called DYSON because they SUCK.
Also please join me in welcoming AAA and Capitol back to Division 2.
Shekhs,
You guys are like the Dallas Mavericks. Talented but stupid.
Adi,
Yeah, Naren seems like the trump card..
I may have to take him out or something...bribe him..before the game.. :-)
Especially when your batting. 8 out of the 11 guys play like Afridi.
Thats like Aditya, Wilcats do all the little things right. They bowl tight, field well, bat sensibly and NEVER PANIC.
*like = right
Tango...
You sound like Talented Mr. Ripley.. :-)
Stupid...was kinda harsh...but thats the reality...
Maybe we need you in the locker room....
Tango, why is that "like" me? I don't bowl at all... but I'll take the remaining compliments!! ;-)
ah, ok. Right! Oh well, I thought I'd prized out a few of compliments from Tango! I know Tango compliments are rare and rumoured to be wonderful, so I was hopeful!
Tango..
What about us maan...no compliments at all.. ?
:-(
Allright Tango. I did an analogy session between international cricket teams and Div 1 teams. Lets have your analogies between Div 1 teams and NBA teams... and why!
Stupid in French stupide, from Latin stupidus. STUPID, DULL, DENSE, CRASS, DUMB mean lacking in power to absorb ideas or impressions.
2. slow of mind, unintelligent decisions or acts, acting in an unintelligent or careless manner
3. marked by or resulting from unreasoned thinking or acting SENSELESS
4. lacking interest or point
Tango are they all this??????
Shekhs,
You guys are one of the best teams in Div 1, sure in for the playoffs, extra games in a shortened season, and gunning for your 3rd or 4th championship? What do you need compliments for?
Aditya, dude, your nothing like the Wildcats
You'd probably fit right in with the Challengers though :)
Seriously, you should be averaging a lot more than you are right now.
Well Pappu, I agree with points 1 and 3. But thats only when they are batting.
Thanks Adi, that'll help as motivation against the cats..
:-)
Puppu..I say all of the above..
Tango, a back-handed compliment! Well, I'll take it, coz you are right.
Ok, so what's the good word (advice) for Phoenix this week? Maybe some ammo to get us going?
Aditya,
Chill out man, you guys are playing against the Bears.
Gawd,
Tango we missed you man....where's n_w?
any idea?
C'mon Tango,
It's been so long since you've "bashed" anyone, or spiced up the blogs!
* how = who
I almost lost the motivation to go to work...I mean without the blog...work was getting boring too..
Lets have your analogies between Div 1 teams and NBA teams... and why!
Wildcats - Spurs: For all the reasons mentioned above.
Pak Gymkhana - Cavs: They have the best player in the league, with a few solid players around him.
Challengers - Mavericks: As I said, "Talented but Stupid".
Muslim - Suns: Star-studded batting (offense), but their bowling (defense) is not all that great.
MCC - Celtics: Could Garnett, Pierce, and Allen be as successful as Asif, Wade and Romesh?
Purdue - Detroit: Mini-Wildcats. Like the Pistons, they don't heavily rely on one guy, but are still a kick-ass team.
St.Louis - Heat: Can Amit put this team on his back and lead them to a championship like Wade did for the Heat last year?
Phoenix CC - Lakers: The most talked about team in the league, even though they didn't make it to the playoffs.
Lol Tango...
That was some sh#$!..
nice analogies..
Shekhs,
I'm on a roll today. I must say, I should have probably compared the Heat to United CC, and St.Louis to the Jazz. With Mehul carrying UCC to a championship like Wade.
Oh well.
So what do you guys think about ICL?
Is it gonna stay?
Pak Cricket board's already banned a few players who joined right..?
Shekhs,
Total stupidity man. I'm pretty sure BCCI will do the same thing. They want to preserve their monopoly over Indian Cricket.
no kiddin...
Tango,
That's pretty funny man. I was surprised not to see United in there, but your later comment made sense. That's the kinda stuff the blog needs. Now, where is everyone else to jump in on this discussion and spice it up?
Hey guys,
Good discussions today!

Arsenal vs IIT
-------
One of the best games of the year, IMHO.
Should be a heck of a game, though.
c8w
romeen,
how come you guys have not posted the rained out game in day and made no attempts to post night loss? is it to give the impression you guys are still undefeated? what is the hold up? inquiring minds want to know.;)
@ Cricketwallah
IIT a little depleted this weekend ??
Can u elaborate .
And how do you get all this info regarding IIT ?
could the pussycats be out of the night playoffs? are they too aged for the fast version of the game? slow and methodical does not pan out in 20/20... what say you Romeen.
2 good games this week.
kutis and mgc, i take kutis
cats and challengers, take the cats naren should clean up.(not much of a challenge)
phoenix on the rise but i take bears in the ultimate upset. bears playing for pride if the have any left! what say you hammad?
Pak take out overrated mcc!
royal easily over capitol, look for shetul to score ;)
rest is boring!!!
cmc,
We do not wante to give the impression that we are 'undefeated', in fact, personally, I think thats too much pressure and rather unnecessary.
*wante= want
when is ajit rejoining the team?
cmc,
The Wildcats- Rogers Park game was excitingly poised when it rained for about 20-30 minutes and then the sun came out.
Thanks.
Ajit should be back on the 16th.
And cmc, you didnt answer my question. Do you think the wildcats are too old to win in the shorter version?
Romeen,
Whats up man..
Lets discuss the topic you dropped last evening..Sledging..
I personally think sledging is fine until you get personal and attack family members and use foul language, I think thats unacceptable.
as long as you can keep it within the game and the player involved without using any foul langg, I think it should be cool.
Just use it to get into the player's head...just to distract him..
cmc, welcome back...!
the way you guys perfomed against anujuam, it seems that way. so asmer did you guys accept the 2 points? or is that for a diffenrent game. and why in the world is this taking so long? time out rain out, what is the difference. if it rains all day do and you wait for the rain to be over. then it can be said that you ran out of time.
Hey Shekhs,
I agree with you.(although I have to admit rather sheepishly that I have been both at the giving and receiving end of foul language, and am not particularly proud of that).
Again, we'd love to share the points, the delay is not from us, and I say this for the last time, the decision is pending.
before we kill fellow bloggers of ennui with our exchanges back and forth, maybe we should talk about something else, like sledging , for instance :)
I get the feeling you are going to sledge the heck out of me when you play us :)

Shekhs: Hence forth you are my Salim Phekoo (character from the movie "The Angrez"....I strongly recommend watching this movie if you guys have not...bunch of hyderabadi taporees speaking hyderabadi hindi....& please put your brains aside when you watch it)
So Shekhs: You my phekoo cause one min you got my back, next min you don't ! WTF, man?! :)

My money on the better team on sunday :)
Hey guys...
Adi,Shekhs and CMC thanks for considering me a bowler, but i am still learning so let´s c how i perform this sunday against a very good team Challengers..
I guess Adi is having fun pulling my leg once in a while ;-)
nice try ro
but not falling for that one!
so just to beat the dead horse one more time. this is not a unique situation the game was not completed in the alloted time regardless of weather or bad light.
only the finals were made an ecxeption and i think you guys played in that game as well.
not to sound like a conspiracy not but me thinks there is somethng strange about that.
Romeen -
I was under the assumption that the 'decision' was handed out in this one - the came was called a rain out, wasn't it? Are we waiting on someone else for this decision?
I completely understand your side of the story as there is no doubt your team was in a better position to win this game but to call the game 'interesting' implies that there was some wrong doing on our part. Its not our fault that it rained heavily that day. In my opinion the ground was not playable and the umpire agreed.
Your team had the upper hand but you know these kind of things happen in cricket. India getting a draw on the last day against England (just a few days ago)who were in a more commanding position than your team but the decision was accepted.
Regards,
Asmar
Swet you'll be around at WP on sunday, right?
sorry ro
just lost a lot MORE respect for pussycats! you guys will do anything to win... anything!
Romeen,
You shouldn't take these 'Oldies' comments to heart. Wildcats have been kicking butt for a long long time, so when everyone (including myself) make fun of you calling you guys, "Oldies" or "Washed up", its just the frustration talking.
Asmar,
I was being matter of fact when I said 'interesting', I dont think we have a clear upper hand.
There was no wrong doing on your part (and if I thought so, I wouldnt imply it, I'd say it), but there's none on our part either.
We have made an appeal (which is totally within our right) and are waiting for the decision. If we are asked to split the points, we'll happily accept it.
I hope you understand.
Thanks
cmc,
Thats OK, its your opinion and I respect that. And I havent lost any respect for you cuz I dont even know you.
tango, I didnt take the oldies comment to heart, I think it has some truth to it. I think the older players have to work harder to compete. But I do know that a lot of my teammates do put in that effort.
Hey tango, cmc, swet, what do you guys think about sledging in our league?
I think its alright, as long as it doesn't get too personal. For instance, I'll make fun of someone for being slow, but I refrain from calling someone 'Fat' or 'Old', atleast on the cricket field :)
I'm sure all you guys have some interesting anecdotes.
Care to share?
And Tango, you can call me old on the field, its totally cool :)
sheky sheky- wakey, wakey
looks like the one day I have some free time, everybody is suddenly working their butts off! :)
romeen whats up with this sledging thing why u asking everyone about this it looks like that Krishna wanna do some sledging & u can't hold him any more.......
j4all, I guess its my turn to take a beating today :)
I'm just trying to introduce something fun to talk about.
Wildcats are alright to the most part. But honestly Romeen, there is only one thing that bothers me about you guys-Your team has more whiners than any other team in the league.
i understand it is fun but in our league it can go real nasty.
Justice 4 all,
True, but I think most of the teams in our league are well behaved. There are only a few exceptions like Farhat, who don't know where to draw the line.
Tango, again, its your opinion and I have to respect it.
Definitely cant whine about it! :)
Romeen,
Smartass :)
sorry Romeen,
I got sidetracked with some real work.. :-)
I think its a great topic for discussion - sledging..
Romeen...whenever you get in here...you make the blog interesting.. :-)
j4all, I dont recall anything nasty happening as a result of sledging. Most of the bad stuff has centered around umpiring decisions.
