This weekend has some great games lined up across all the 3 divisions. I wish all the teams the very best for their season.
The league president Shekhs Aravind is going to be present at the Community Park ground tomorrow morning. He will be tossing the coin for the season opening game in the 30-30 division between NightHowlers and Panthers and mark the beginning of the 2010 season.
Lets Play !!!!
Note: The Chicago Park district does not allow to put the Portable Restrooms at Washington Park before the Memorial Day. But the main bathrooms at the south east side near the Washington Park Ground# 3 are open from 8 AM in the morning. Please use them when required.

Good luck to all the teams....
Nighthowlers beat Panthers in 30/30.
Panthers scored 141 in 30 overs, and howlers chased it in 36 overs at the loss of 5 wickets .
Peoria scored 171 in 40 and Eagles need 100 run more and 6 wickets left in 20 overs..this will be a nail biter..!
Got the news that Flames, Pak Gym and Jaguars won at the Washington Park today
Arena V/s Mil Rangers
Rangers - 63 All Out
Arena 64/1
Jaguars vs. Evanston
Evanston - 43 allout in 13 overs. They were 12 for 7.
Jaguars - 44-8. Jaguars were 9 for 5.
Calvin Bo"Rail" did it again on Super saver !!!! if anyone knows what i am talking about we talk the same talk friends :-)
Awesome performance from Flames and a pretty strong performance from them. Sadiq you we correct... Flames are looking like a force this year, which means this year it will not be a low scoring thriller against them for us which has become the norm.
Fahad Congratulations on starting the season with a bang, along with Kiran and Quintin..
WC is opening its account tomorrow so all excited for this season to roll for WC.
Peoria Won by 40 odd runs...Great bowling performance by PCC...Pcc scored 181 for 7 in 40 overs; Anirugh top scored with 54, followed by Devraj 37 and rest chipped in...Ram was free flowing but got run out..Kiran remained unbeaten.while rallying his troops in the end..In response..Kiran removed Dangerous Mankesh early...Asad took care of Laxmi..Subbu had a cameo but Cap Pretam was left with tall task of rallying his troops needing a score of 65 runs in 13 overs with 4 wickets left...Saleem bowled 2 beautiful Maidens and pressure got the best of Eagles..ended up collapsing..Cap Kiran ended up 3 wickets, Asad 1, Saleem 2..It was gr8 game against Eagles as always..Wishing them the very best..Next game is with Talented Flames team..THey are the team to beat this year..!! Congrats to all winners this week...

They looked very good today apparently - and they didnt even have Shankar Anand today IIRC. They were 140/1 in about 25 overs when I was there on our break - were only about 2 or 3 down when the last 10 overs began, wickets were never an issue.. and then Quentin came in and hit 59 off 30 balls IIRC. United lost Faisal b Nasir and Kamran b Quentin in the first 4-5 overs.. Gopi apparently made a brilliant ton late, his first in our league, but it was a 60-odd run margin in the end.
In the game I did, Pak started with a bang against Chargers - 64/0 in 9 overs. It was 109/3 after 20, 128/4 after 23 overs; 35 from Irfan, 39 from Mehmood, 34 from Bakshi, all looking very good before they got out. But the Chargers didnt bowl a ball of pace after Over #12- 4 spinners, Jatinder, Hilal, Iqbal and Kami. Kami bowled the best Ive ever seen him bowl - 8-0-26-3. PakGym fell to 183 allout with 3 overs to spare.
Chargers came in, and Raheel bowled a brilliant spell - 8-1-15-2, on the trot at the start, plus one sitter dropped off him (and a dozen plays-and-misses). Shahid had 4-0-6-1 to start too, typically brilliant spell, also had a sitter dropped off him.. Chargers were 38/5 after 18 overs when Guddu walked in to bat (way too low in the order, IMHO :-) He hit 2 fours in the last over before break, and Chargers went in at 48/5 after 20 - 136 to win in 20 overs.
After break, Guddu played one of the most brilliant innings in ages. The PakGym attack has long been one of the best in the league, they were completely on top - and he attacked them right away. Guddu and Asif put on 67/0 in 10 overs after break.. and at 115/5 needed 69 in 10 to win. Asif fell, Rafi came in - Shahid returned, Guddu hit him for 2 consecutive fours, and then fell caught at the boundary going for a third. 61 off 41 balls against a top attack, chanceless, 8 fours and 2 sixes, brilliant innings.
Rafi and Kami took it to 40 needed off 36 balls, and 38 off 32, before Kami was stumped off Bakhi's last over, and that was pretty much that. Chargers were allout 25 runs short, with still 3+ overs left to be bowled. 3w for Shahid (brilliant as ever), 2w for Bakshi, 4 victims for newly minted USA keeper Ashhar (whose glovework remains unparalleled).
Meanwhile the Jaguars beat Evanston - in a game that went by too fast for me to get any details :-) I heard 11/7, 42allout for Evanston, and Jaguars losing 8 before winning, with Doneike taking 4/16 off 8 I believe.. all I know is that we kept hearing celebrations from that ground literally every 2 minutes, and they were all gone by the time we got to lunch :-)

Yep Sadiq he again went to the rail, and he only had to cross 1 horse in his whole trip which has 19 more is quiet impressive...The shortest possible route. Another mile stone achieved by Todd Pletcher who is now a miser 1/30 in K.derby trials.
Impressive performance from both united and chargers in their losses to a better team on the day.
Titans beat Chicago Giants comprehensively today by 10 wickets .. Giants were allout for 91 with Mughiz picking up 5 wickets for 10 runs .. Then Titans chased down in 13.3 overs with Tafazzul scoring 68* in 47 balls.
In other games at Washinton Park, WildCats were allout for 115 and Chargers were 70 odd for 2 after 20 overs against Challengers in other match. Also Illinois were 121 allout against Hammond playing at Washington Park# 1.
At Community Park, Rogers Park beat QC Kings by 3 wickets. Sarwar from Rogers Park played a great knock and made 80 odd runs with plenty of big hits ...
AAA beat Wildcats
Wildcats batted first.
Wildcats 151/10 in 39.5 overs.
Sadik had 4 wickets, & Adam had 2 wickets
AAA scored 152/9 in 35.3 overs.
Ikram 41*Sadik and Asif Patel
chipped in also to give AAA a hard-fought victory. It was a well-played match for both teams and good luck to Wildcats for the remainder of the season.
Ikram and Sadik co-MVP’s for
the game.
Challangers also defeated Chargers
I belive Hamond also defeated Illinois C.C.
Shuaib,
We did not exchange our score sheets i believe, so to enter the scores we would need our bowling analysis.
Can you call me at 630-254-7848, or anyone in your team who has the score book.
Also good win and all the best guys!!
No problem Nareen. I have the scorebook please email me at s_menk@yahoo.com and I will email you the figures.
Milwaukee CC beat Muslim Gym in Milwaukee, on an astroturf surface.
MuslimGym started well, with Moe batting v well at opener for 40 (with a couple of big sixes), MG were 70/1 in 13 overs before Moe was runout. A small slide engineered by Asif (who got Imad and Manesh in his first spell)still saw MuslimGym in fair position at 95/4 at break. Milwaukee took control in the 2nd half, though, with some excellent bowling all around - Asif 4/26, Taylor a terrific 7-2-17-2 etc, with MG ending at 150 allout with 10 balls to spare.
MG put up a terrific disciplined bowlign performance in reply, with pace and control - but Milwaukee batted very sensibly (despite dark clouds ever-present, they never thought of a 20-over target) - the opening partnership seeing off 13 overs at 3/over (MG wasnt helped by dropping 3 easy catches in the first half either). Kabir played an innings of great character - struggling with a bad wrist which didnt allow him to play shots, he still hung in and contributed to his team, eventually staying there almost 30 overs for 61. MG's bowling held Milwaukee to 62/2 in 20 overs (needing 89 in the last 20). They were 104/4 in 30, needing 47 off the last 10 - but they had the requisite wickets in hand. Shakir and Khawar finished in a rush at the end, wrapping it up with 6 wickets in hand.
Good hard-fought game between two playoff teams from last year.. but both sides didnt look quite as strong to start the season and will have to improve as the season progresses IMHO. Apart from the rust on a few players, MG has lost Kamran and Mehmood (to United and Pak respectively), and were missing Imran (currently in Pakistan), and being 3 batsmen short compared to last year showed today (it will get better with Imran's return, of course). Milwaukee, OTOH, has lost quite a bit of their young backup pace bowling - Rizwan and Usman, both very useful first-change pacemen for them a year ago, have moved to the Milwaukee Division Two team led by former MCC keeper Riaz Butt. They handled the absence well today, but it could prove challenging over an entire season for a team that was a semifinalist last year.

Congrats to all the teams that won last weekend. Better luck for all the teams that couldnt quite make it.
As we are playing with a newer set of cricket balls. How did they hold up for you ? we had to change ours in the second over.
Sadiq,
hopefully you have two different caps. A bloggers cap and a selectors cap.

I don't if you have ordered for some extra set of cricket balls. If not can you do so please. teams might need them. We defenitely do.

Which ones did you use, anyway? There are a vareity around at the moment I guess.. there is a batch that was ordered, but was stuck because of the Volcanic Ash, and so a backup was ordered (is that the Greenidge's? I think it is).. and so most teams now have 2 different kinds I think.(The actual ball we're using is Grade-A?)
Both kinds were used in the games I umpired this weekend..both held up ok, didnt have to be replaced. The Grade-A was ok in Milwaukee on Sunday, but some of the Milwaukee guys felt last years Grey's were better (they felt Greys were very good in general). The Greenidge's we used on Saturday at WP held up nicely.. with overnight rain they collected some moisture, but didnt split apart or anything (but the seam area got more prominent, and the spinners started getting extra bounce, which made it harder for batsmen actually).
Which was the ball you used that had to be changed in 2 overs? I guess there's experimentation this year with balls, to find the best one... so people oughta keep a watch on what works well for them and what doesnt..
c8w
we used the second set that we got after the week after the AGM.
Typo!!!!
Preetam - which balls did you guys play with? The ones given during AGM (HATTRICK) or the one's given later (MIDWEST).
We played 2 games last weekend with the HATTRICK ball and I think it performed just OK. But we did not have to change it. I personally like the balls given last year. They were better than these.
Congrats to all the winners!!
Thanks for the feedback Preetam and Rajiv!!
Yeah, the first set of balls issues at the AGM are not the best.
I thought the second set were better and one of them held up pretty good during our game.
I'm sorry about you changing the ball...
I'm glad you folks are giving the feedback.
If you folks think the balls from last year were better, we will order those next year.

Iam not sure it counts, if you win in 10 overs (though it does seem to have taken a beating in those 10 overs ;-)
Very rough on the Chargers, getting PakGym and Challengers back to back. And they seem to have been missing a couple guys on Sunday, too. They looked pretty good on Saturday though.
c8w
Yeah, chargers were missing some key players, especially Guddu, would have made a huge difference.
But Darshan seemed like he was playing IPL or World cup 20/20..
We did bowl 30 overs finger...I was talking about those 30 overs, the ball did hold up pretty good..
:-)
I also think that the Grays balls are better than the batch we got this year. Grays are used in first class matches in Pakistan (or may be a higher quality of the same brand). They have a prominent seam and usually last the distance, I have several match balls that were used for 30-40 overs and still maintain their shape/shine and can be used for practice etc.
We bowled with the Grade A ball on Sat and it held up pretty well and was swinging all over (my bowlers hat on;) ). However, the seam is not as raised as in the Grays ones and so with the old ball Grade A was easier to play (or may be Guddu made it look so :P). My 2 cents.
Mr. President, is it alright to play with the Grays balls if we have some left over from last season? What;s the management;s *balls policy*? ;)
Absolutely Raheel.
Any ball issued by the league (be that this year or the previous year) can be used in a game.
So yeah, you are more than welcome to use the grays ball from last year. Looks like you have a good collection. :-)
And yeah, welcome back to the blog!!!
I think that is unfair! Our team does not have grays balls left over, and therefore teams like Pak Gymkhana would have an advantage using a better ball (the grays)....everyone should use the same ball man...equal conditions for both teams
by the way these new balls suck man no swing no bounce off the seam and it falls apart. (the hattrick) I havent played with the grade A yet but I heard those are a little better
They should be allowed to use grays ball only if other team has the grays the ball too . If not both teams should use the same brand ball ie hatrick or grade A.
Swingking,
I cannot restrict teams from using a ball our league issued, I think thats unfair.
Did your team get the second set of 8 balls?
If you did then please use those. They are good and much better than the HATRICK ones.
If you haven't received those, send me an email and we'll arrange a way for you to pick those.
just chillin,
Thats not a bad idea, I'll talk to my team and see if we can figure this out.
Thanks again for the feedback fellas...
Hi all,
Just got back from the Jersey shore. Quiet place - not quite like CHICAGO.
Good to see that we got games in this weekend. I have a couple of questions/comments:
1. Shekhs, congrats on being not-out in your first knock.
2. I propose the AAA vs Wildcats game become the game of the week from next year. Always a close humdinger!!
3. Are the Flames for real, or what? Awesome performance!
4. How does Pak Gym find a way to win always? Very creditable to them.
5. What's going on in Div 2? Are they playing on "sticky" wickets? Giants, Illinois, Rangers, and especially Evanston and the Jaguars! 43/9 vs 44/8?? Are we playing baseball????
6. How come the MWCA vs Hawks got rained out at Heritage Park, but the Desi Tigers vs Juggernauts did not? Did the ground improve significantly since the morning?
So glad to get back to cricket!!
It will be good if both the teams use same kind of ball during a game, otherwise it will leave room for conflicts.
Thanks Adi! Darshan's heroics rubbed off on me...it was fun watching Darshan play...I really didnt have to do much..
Yeah Mitul, I'll ask the umpiring committee to coordinate with the umpires to make sure we are consistent in using the kind of balls in one game.
Raheel,
Please use the GRAYS ball only if the other team has the same ball, unless you are willing to provide them with one of your GRAYS'...

I think people should give it more than just one game - lets keep getting feedback over the next few weeks too, before finally decidnig on the best ball for next year (which is the objective, after all).
The reason I say that is - we used the "Greenidge" (or hat-trick I guess) ball on Saturday morning, Chargers vs PakGym. And the ball was doing all kinds of stuff - lots of swing (for the first change bowler Vijay), and *tons* of bounce! Too much bounce for the batsmen, actually - the spinners were getting excellent bounce, and that made batting difficult. Kamran was tossing it up, and getting it to bounce above waist height regularly - with slow loopy offspin he appealed for LBW against Maqsood Raza sweeping, but was denied because the ball actually hit Maqsood on the face due to the high bounce!
We obviously got a "good ball" from the Greenidge batch - but conditions helped too, it was cloudy and moist, ball swung all day. And the ball handled moisture great - it didnt swell up and lose shape, instead the seam area got more prominent, and so it started bouncing more.. and we used the same ball for the entire 38 overs of the PakGym innings with no trouble.
(Jaguars and Evanston used a ball from this batch in the morning too IIRC - and while I dont think they were happy with it, being allout for 42 indicates it must have had *some* swing and bounce, surely? :-)
c8w
This balls issue is snowballing (no pun)! I think a team should be able to use any ball as long as its been issued by MCC. Couple years back we had 2 kinds of balls and no one matched balls before the start. Even last Sat, Chargers bowled with a different brand than ours (both issued by the league though), so why cant we use the Grays ones? By this logic you should match the brand in every match: Grade A v Grade A and Greenidge v Greenidge or Grays v Grays.
I umpired the Jaguars and Evanston game and both teams used the 'Hattrick' balls and the low scores for both teams was more due to the lack of practice both teams had before the game then the swing and bounce the ball produced. Both teams manage to only last about 15 overs and since there wasn't any big hits the ball held up its shape.
But the next game over in South Barrington both teams wanted to change the balls after 15 overs but i didn't find anything wrong with balls so i didn't change it. What's the policy on changing balls during the match?
Management... Its Tuesday and some teams have not entered summary..Why do we have to enter stats early yet the repeat offenders from last year get leverage. They never get any action taken against them.. It looks like a trend for certain teams.. If they lost the game they never post the stats . Bu tif they win the stats are up hours after the game.. Its time the following rules applied to them.
7.1.1. Team must enter WEEKLY SUMMARY before the end of day Monday following the game.
7.1.2. Teams must enter the SCORECARD and the CAPTAIN’s REPORT within 3 days of the game date
7.1.3. Teams failing to complete the reporting as above will not be able to enter scores and shall pay a fine of $25.00 for each offence. Repeated offenders will be suspended.
7.1.4.Team found guilty of entering the scores incorrectly will be fined and suspended if it is established that it was a deliberate act of cheating.
str8bat
I agree with you, and we the managment are going to force this rule very shortly:)
Thanks for your input!!!
hey some people dont have time on match days to enter the score because they played a match, and the next day si a working day. people should atleast get time till wednesday. finger, you are the most biased person i have ever heard. by the way in your earlier post you stated that the REAL good players dont play 30 30 or div 2, and proceeded to name a list of the best players in mcc. i was looking through the stats, and i noticed that you never noticed Faisal Baig, who has scored some ridiculous runs in this league, and whats up with your bias against ucc? picking them to lose as well.
as for the balls issue, i think a good compromise is both teams have to use same brand of ball in a match. the type of ball really makes a difference.
If everybody likes the Grays balls and they have proven to be the best balls...why is there still a debate to qualify other balls?
Not to forget following players in 30/30
Fahd Babar, the highest runner from last season in Div 1 plays in 30/30.
Bhavesh who is constantly one of the highest wick takers in div1 plays as well.
Darshan Patel
Rizwan Syed and Imran Syed (from Paradise)
..and the list goes on
Hi Guys, Let us make this Blog a little more interesting !!! Just a Disclaimer about me.. I am a player in MWCC but not in Division I. I am away for a while and just back.
Shekhs!!! Seems to be a very close election.. Good luck..
Salman - If you don't know the rules(Ball changing), please ask the Umpiring Committee/Rules Committee. Please don't ask in Blog. That doesn't give a good feel about our umpires/management. Btw, how did you umpire games without knowing the rules??
Guys we need to raise our standards in everything. Please wakeup..
Shekhs
Can we have our Umpires are teached about our Rules before they step in the field??
Finger -
I heard a lot about the Milwaukee Vs Muslim Gymkhana game. It seems to be you decided to show your bias this time towards Mimwaukee and din't dock any overs for delay more than 90 mins.
Isn't the following is the rule for teams coming late for the games. Correct me if I am wrong.
18.2.GRACE TIME: There shall be a Grace period of 36 minutes for the local Chicago-land area games. For the traveling teams, a grace period of 1 hour and 6 minutes shall be allowed. Umpire’s watch shall be considered FINAL for all official Times.
18.2.1. Teams arriving late, during the Grace time shall have an opportunity to play the game without forfeiting the same.
18.2.2. Teams arriving at the ground during the Grace Time shall be docked ONE over for every 6 minutes loss of play time. The time wasted shall be rounded off to the next lowest multiple of 6 (For instance a team arriving at 10:10 am for a Chicagoland match shall be docked 1 over, where as teams arriving at 10:12 am shall be docked 2 overs and so on).
18.2.3. The docking of overs for outstation games shall commence 1 hr after the scheduled start times.
18.2.4. Teams with 7 (Seven) players can opt to take the field to prevent docking of overs.
18.2.5. For teams arriving after Grace time – see Clause 17.3 on Forfeiture.
18.2.6. Grace time WILL RESULT IN LOSS OF OVERS. It only avoids forfeiture.
Finger, you are going to have different hats, It doens't matter how many hats you wear, we expect you to be more NEUTRAL. Can you Justify us the decision why muslim gymkhana was not docked overs??
Fake,
I absolutely know what the rules are, i was just wondering what the league has to say about the new balls that are issued this year since both teams were complaining about changing it. I think you just misunderstood what i said.
>>Balls Issue : I am unable to comprehend why we are going back to the issues league had with balls in 90s and early 20s years. Now this is the height of mismanagement, we have 3 kind of balls floating around and it seems like there is one final type is still due which suppose to be the 4th kind of ball. After years of this cat and mouse game of try to get a standard quality ball, the league had some success with Grays ball for few yrs.
Now are we keep inventing the wheels on everything? You dont try to fix something which is not borken.
>> On Mr.Encyclopedia (aka Finger of death): I got a challenge for you, Can you get your point across in 2 short sentences ??? Plz do it once, So we can claim that atleast once we didnt loose you in the middle while reading your blogs.
>>Mr. Fake hold on, dont mess with Finger, he is the asset of MWCC, he already spent too much time and energy on this blog and keep up with all the latest updates in cricket world, not to mention he will still have to retain last 50 yrs of cricket records.
>>Weekly Summary Errors and scorecard update issues: There are some major errors, whoever is responsible for website must be proactive about it. Someone has to make sure that teams enter the scores required by law. Its not my job but a few Error example:
- Muslim n Milwaukee seems like both lost, no winner there???
- challengers and chargers entered 2 different set of overs
Looking at the First week performace, there are too many chages and too many mistakes and mismanagement.
Is this is the kind of change we all voted for ??
By the way who is paying for all these different kind of balls. Oh sorry I forgot, the new management got US$40,000 of sponsors in advance.
Look forward to see monthly financial report the new managment promised to post on-line for all the teams.

First Ive actually heard of this "controversy" is right now :-) The game didnt start 90 minutes late for sure... everyone was there by 10:15 or so IIRC, and Iam pretty sure we had gotten going by 10:45 or so? Technically, if you look at the law above, overs dont actually get docked until an hour late for away games anyway, right? (according to 18.2.3) And we had definitely started by then.
Though, honestly, I didnt even think of that at the time - nobody even brought it up, on either side, it was all kind of friendly/chatty, as I said I didnt realize this was an issue until now :-) There had been some confusion about what the start time for Milwaukee was going to be this year - if it was going back to 11 or not (MCC by the end of last year was preferring 11 IIRC).. but it was finally decided (after talking to MCC at the ground, as well as one of the Panthers who was there I think), that all Milwaukee games would stay at 11 this year. (All that was part of the chattiness that took until about 10:45 for the start, including walking in and inspecting the new pitch and astro, suggesting improvements (sides of pitch fall away drastically at the moment etc).. unfortunately first weekend of season it becomes too much like old friends catching up (with me too, sadly :-)
Actually, come to think of it, we should probably have technically docked overs for Chargers on Saturday at WP too - but it didnt happen, nobody (including me) actually thought of it :-) We got started about 10:25 there.. but the other games started about 10:15 I think... youre right, we all should make an attempt for every game to be started at 10:00 on the dot, and in the end I suppose its only penalties beign imposed that are going to make it happen.

Arre, what is this khali-pili bias-shias talking? Naren and Shekhs picked United, how come nobody claims theyre biased against Flames? I picked Flames to win over United cos I thought they were the better team in the first week (and I was the only one who was bloody right too, thank you very much :-) I happen to think the Flames are a likely playoff team this year, and that United's bowling is much weaker without Mehul and Khadry (as it was going to be in Week 1).. anyway :-)
And nobody ever said *none* of the good players play 30/30 - obviously many do. But many dont, too - and even fewer play enough games to qualify for the playoffs. I was just saying to Dinesh (over a week ago! A lifetime in blog-years!) that I didnt think a potential Guest Player rule would result in a flood of superstars suddenly playing every game in Div2 and making it all unfair, thats all. I happen to support the Guest Player rule (after a few more tweaks and refinements).. YMMV :-)
As for Fais.. he's an even better batsman than he is an Editor, as I know from experience..and thats high praise :-)

Too many CHANGES and mistakes.. Wow, I seriously don't even remember last time I played cricket in Chicago in the first week of May, despite rain all week, or for that matter having my entire schedule communicated to me before the season.. Different Cricket Balls is not a big issue. We had 2 sets of cricket balls issued to us last year from the Management that had been in charge for 12 years, same has been done this year. So I don't know what is the big deal. Anyways, I believe there will be a few that will always have issues. Move On MURGHA -- Election Over.. Like it or not Change is here.. and I for one, LIKE IT..
Good Luck to all the teams playing this week. It's gonna be chilly in Chicago.. Layer Up..
We used the new set of balls given to us, and they were decent.
The ball still was in a playable condition after 40 overs.
MURGHA dont try to give the feeling I am trying to Messup with Finger. I am in this league for quite sometime and know the efforts of him and I always highly appreciated that. All I am saying is Whoever it is rules are there to implement and we should follow it strictly. If one exception is made, then it will lead to another.
Dear MCC management,
Can someone fix the IE 8.0 and Firefox compatibility issues with the website please? If you are one of those unlucky ones to have jumped on upgrading IE 8.0 and FireFox 3.5, our beloved MCC website doesn't work. none of the pulldown menus options don't work right. Haven't been able to see the scores or rosters or summaries? can this be updated, migrated, outsourced or rebuilt or reprogrammed please? ;-) Gr8 to see everyone so active and discussing things that would make league a better one..
Cheers
Madew
Madhu Sir ..
I have IE 8 on my machine and the MCC website works very fine. But I have seen some issues earlier. Try the normal tactics ... clearing out cache, reinstalling IE 8 and check if it makes difference ... But I agree that the website needs some improvements .. We will definitely work on it in few months ..
** The Colors of Biased New Management **: Have a look at the scrolling headline with "Top Performers" on the league website, It seems like only players who are part of the teams closer to the New management get to be on it, They either suppose to put all the top performers of the week or none. Please stop this kind of biased activities.
It is amazing to see some of these people on this blog, who use to have conspiracy theories about everything going on in the league just a few weeks ago, now suddenly became Mr. optimistic.
Probably these characters have their own personal agenda, pretty soon if things dont go their way with new mgmt they will be back to their old habits.
@ Fake....wake up and smell some coffee....I was being sarcastic.
@ Mr. Shiraz ....Wow, I seriously don't even remember last time I played cricket in Chicago in the first week of May, despite rain all week, or for that matter having my entire schedule communicated to me before the season.. Different Cricket Balls is not a big issue. We had 2 sets of cricket balls issued to us last year from the Management that had been in charge for 12 years, same has been done this year. So I don't know what is the big deal.
-----------------------------------
You didnt respond to some of the main point I raised in my comments.
Also on the other note, You may not have much to remember few years back anywayz cause you were hardly use to make it in the playing 11 and your team use to win with some good players up the order.
It is just the beginning now. The season is very long. We got lucky this year because of the weather and able to start. But we all will see how each of the teams schedule will change based on cancellation, ground availability, weather and other unforeseeable situations.
Cricket ball is the issue since many teams and main players have made comments that balls are not good, that made it clear that the new management has failed to even keep the quality of previous standard balls in the league, so forget about improving.
If they would be able to just keep the same standard would be enough. They have tried to change it but didnt have the experience to know the practical and logistic details behind it. Now it is a mess and for the rest of the season the Balls Issue will be around whenever there is a game and teams start preferring particular balls.
I know elections are over and what the new mgmt promised is not looking so good based on some of their initial blunders, specialy regarding the "quality and standard of cricket" that they bragged about most. It seems like they are bringing back the issues the league use to deal with 10 years ago.
Also please the new mgmt improve their communication process, when changing grounds or games for some teams, All the teams use to get emails from the league mgmt but this week Illinois and Hammond game moved the same day and nobody knoew about it.
God Bless Our Cricket
more to come.....
Anyone see a Murgha, give him a hug, ala Munna Bhai.. Dude, I love your blogging, seriously..
I am not a professional cricketer like you bhai (hint hint).. but I love to play the game. And like I said, you don't have to be a cricketer to have an opinion.. Everyone should be entitiled to their opinions and loyalties.
Keep us honest Murgha.. I think you are the Man for this job..
Madew,
Thanks for the feedback bud, we'll definitely try to fix the IE8 and other browser issues.

nobody is going to be perfect, nor is the current management.
we're trying our best and will keep trying to give the best to MWCC.
But, we need everybodys cooperation to make it work.
Its good that ppl like Murgha are here to keep a check on us, so that, we know we are accountable.
I'm glad that the blog's finally alive and kicking...good for cricket..

confushus say: man can see far when head out of &$$ plus have less hot air in self.
Big hitter, what a funny quotation.. Love it. No, elections did not change personality, having a baby did. I am a proud father of a 20 month old future MWCC Cricketer, and now understand that this is just a game we all play for fun, and it should only lead to that, rather than controversies and issues.. So I am planning to take things lightly.
Hope some others can do that too. In the end, we should be One Big Happy Family with a MURGHA.. :)
bighitter > that was very funny. Had a big great laugh.
hahaha Big hitter....welcome back!!!
thats some funny A%^ comment...

Mcc headlines . whoever is writing game summaries should refrain from using words like awfully onesided its just a game one team wins one losses there is nothing awfull about it even if it is onesided
@ Shiva.....It seems like you made an honest mistake and you took responsibility. Thanks for addressing the issue promptly in a professional manner. Atleast someone is civil and mature enough.
@ Moe...---------------------------
Hey shiva, you have nothing to be sorry about. Obviously murgha can't read. Or was busy laying an EGG!!!!! lol Fahad of flames was our biggest supporter and yes we recognized his brillant score!!!! SO BE IT!!!!!! haha I DON'T care if your a MURGA or a KUTTA BARKING. JUST LIKE MURGA CAN SAY WHAT HE FEELS ON THE BLOG YOU CAN WRITE ON THE WEBSITE!!! now back to watching pak vs england game!!!!
---------------------------------
Mr. Vice President (Moe),
Wow....... I was not sure that my comments would irritate and disturb people so much. This must be really painful to all of you as I can see. Finally, Mr Vice President has ushered his words of wisdom that tells the quality of his character and maturity. Moe you do not need to be that low in front of this kind of audience cause you gotta lead now and might want to have some respect.
Guys these are just facts that needs to be revealed to others. Ofcourse, this entourage of pro-management bloggers will say anything to hide their incompetency.
Your comments show your true colors and character as a person, now you are an executive of MWCC and not the executive of those illegal Mexican labors only in which you may be spending too much time, so I can excuse your choice of words. I can understand your lack of intellect and maturity, to respond in a civil manner.
There is nothing personal its just that someone has to keep you guys honest, if you are really leading in a democratic way then respond to the real issues and take responsibility like Shiva or Fingerofdeath, you may clear any misunderstanding about it if its not true, Or Please buy n read "How to be a leader for Dummies".
Still my friend if it bothers you so much that you have to use such language and go so low, please let me know so i will try to be easy on you, I didnt know you are such a baby.
@ Shiraz....Babies dont change the real person in us, we still have the same instincts. You might realized the need to change your personal perception on others. Still I would like to wish you best of luck. Its never too late. Secondly, I believe it has nothing to do with the baby rather it is the power that you wanted to have for so long that makes you please and soothe now.
@ Big Hitter..... lol...I really enjoyed your honest and funny comments :). Atleast you are saying something, the way you see it. Keep it up.
Quote of the day: "My head in anybody's &ss may not hurt MWCC but &ssholes running it will."
Enjoy :P
@MURGHA
I might not agree to all what you say, but regarding Shiva and Mr.Vice President I am 100% with you.
Mr. Vice President, you are an Office bearer of MWCC and we expect you to project the right image about us in Public.

Fake,
I do agree that Moe got a bit carried away emotionally. But, you have to understand that he has been working his tail off for the league. He has been working day and night to make things better for the league.
He was offended a bit when there were allegations.
I agree that he could've handled it better and he will.
Moe is a very smart and civil person. He carries himself really well. there is a reason I picked him to be my VP and he clearly is working hard on it.
I'm extremely proud of Moe and what he brings to the league.
If he said something thats not VP like, thats just the spur of the moment, getting a bit emotional after all the hard work is being put in.
Trust me, you'll be as proud as Moe as I'm within a few weeks/ months.
Hang in there folks....we're gonna get better...
Shekhs
I appreciate your reply and backing of your team. This is not about just getting emotional after being a VP for just a month.
We all are in this blog have seen various comments about the previous management who were there for 12 years from the same person. Welcome to the club.
Now you are missing the bigger picture, one thing is about the usage of words. But the other shows the attitude of "MWCC is his personal property" when he says you write whatever you want in the website.
That attitude should not be encouraged. MWCC Website is not a blog for personal preferences.
As a president We expect you to take this seriously, because when he feels he can do anything with MWCC Website,Tomorrow he may say he can do anything in MWCC.
MWCC elected only you as the president and he was just appointed by you. And, please don't back him just because you have to.
I guess you are a MURGHA with god complex. You can see inside people's hearts.. Well like I said, your opinion is your opinion. As far as the power is concerned, historically it has made people stubborn and cocky in this league, so even if it is the reason why I am humbled, that should be refreshing..
Obviously we see the Real You as well.. Like I said, we appreciate your feedback, but keep it honest and non-biased. If you don't like the way things are going, you will have the opportunity to use your vote again soon. And with the displacement of the previous management, there is a good chance that new leadership will be fostered in this league.. And that is the CHANGE we needed more than any other..
seems all ppls have forgot to read. moes comment told shiva 2 write on website. moe not writing himself. he support shiva 2 not worry becoz of controvsy on few words. this is blog not official mwcc. anyone can say whatever want and it mean diddly squat.
fake chill. u go back 2 raja of whatever and all other nicks and making fun. u r better to that.
mcc chik (like cer has masood chik) u r so funny bcoz everything u say is come from old mgmt &$$ - it is crap and hot air. hahahahha. shekhs and team in mgmt 4 1 month. why not chill and point flaws nicely without thinking that league is falling apart. so far nothing fell apart accept ur logic.
lets compare to old mgmt:
1 by now schedule never out and when out it terrible messed up
2 by now season never started. excuses about weather or grounds is only excuses. how can be true for last 12 years and suddenly work this year?
3 implemented stupid 3 point tie rule
4 messed up mwcc not profit
5 favored some teams heavily like your team flames
6 let discipline get out of hand
7 only got the balls right in last 2 years. previous 10 were horrible
8 never took part in regionals until jaggi election forced them
9 tried to suspend ppl for no reason just bcoz from united
10 openly lie during elections
11 finances enuff said
12 cheat on elections to keep power
13 only napoleon made decisions
there is so much more but i dont have time to waste. as i said earlier, once head out of &$$ then u see clearly.
shekhs and mgmt have plenty of time to screw up but as of now they much better than past. let them screw up and i bash 2. they not perfect but even my english not. hahahaha.
confushus say: when mans member shrink he get jealous of others. instead he shud learn 2 use what he got and then it not seem so small.
Bighitter
I guess you missed the hit here also. I agree blog anybody can write anything.
But our Respected VP asked Shiva to write whatever he wants on the WEBSITE not on the blog. That is the issue.
I don't belong to any of your group, and all I care is MWCC.All that I am asking is, Don't make it a joke because of your loyalties and vote politics.
If you need to make a Big Hit, you should hit it in the MIDDLE. Try to do that.
fake i miss hit because it wide ball. not legal ball. u make football out of cricket ball. i dont have loyals or vote politics. this is blog so i make jokes 2 make truth easy 2 see.
my big hit.
