USA domestic calendar announced
Cricinfo staff

April 4, 2010

The USA Cricket Association has announced dates and venues for its major competitions in 2010. The USACA Super League, to be played between November 12 and 14, will remain in South Florida, but new sites are proposed for other national tournaments.

The main international tournament is the ICC World Cricket League Division Four, scheduled to take place between August 14 and 21 in Italy, and ahead of that there is the ICC Americas Division One to be held in Bermuda between May 29 and June 7.

The Men's Eastern and Western Conference tournaments will not be held until September - the Eastern Conference between September 10 and 12 at a venue yet to be allocated, and the Western Conference in Los Angeles between September 17 and 19.

The Women's Nationals are scheduled for June 4 to 6 in Cupertino, California, five weeks ahead of the ICC Americas Challenge Series in Toronto.

The Under-15 Nationals are set for July 15 to 18, with the Under-19 event from August 6 to 9.

The MWCC website has been updated with the necessary details. Please continue to use this website as usual. The blog can go back to what it was originally intended for - funny chatter and management bashing!! :):)

naren said...

Good to see the blog back on the league website... yea now we can bash the management... :-).

Let me start the bashing, are we going to fix the nets at Hanover park since they are of no use for me and my fellow spinners :-).

ice_cold said...

Dont forget that the mat on 1st net needs to be changed as well (hoping it will be now in one piece)

Shekhs said...

Naren,
You are suspended for the season.
hahaha
We will try to fix the nets.
ice_cold,
the mat in cage 1 might not get fixed this year, as we probably wont have the funds to do that.

Hey Shekhs I think we can get funds to fix the mat in Cage 1 this year.. Im sure some teams that got by not paying their dues in the past will surely have to pay their dues this year to play :)

Anyone knows when can we have the complete pre season and regular season schedule?

The schedule was ready at the time of elections so I guess it shouldnt take too long to just publish it?

What are people's comments on which are the fav teams this season? Any new interesting people joining the league? Players transfering?

Let's start some discussion :)

Alpesh said...

ice_cold shahab ..

Regarding the pre-season schedule, we are still waiting on the availability of some grounds ... You should most probably see it by tomorrow evening or Thursday morning at most...

Shekhs said...

str8bat,
You got that right!!!

ice_cold,
The Schedule will be out and published as promised on april 21st in our Transition Plan document.

New Management,
Will there be stricter policy for teams not updating scorecards in a timely manner or in some cases not entering them at all. The winning team player such as wk or fielder or took catches gets no stats because of this

7.1.2. Teams must enter the SCORECARD and the CAPTAIN’s REPORT within 3 days of the game date

7.1.3. Teams failing to complete the reporting as above will not be able to enter scores and shall pay a fine of $25.00 for each offence. Repeated offenders will be suspended.

7.1.4. Team found guilty of entering the scores incorrectly will be fined and

I like you str8bat... I truly hope management would enforce penalties for such violations and thereby improve the overall spirit

There is a new website which helps in organizing a team efficiently, and as much as i have seen this website it will be enough to maintain a cricket team.

Here is the link.

www/teamer.net.

try it out and see if it reduces all the spreadsheets, and emails we use.

Alpesh said...

Yep Naren .. the website seems great .. I played around a bit and it seems to be doing everything we all need to do to manage a team ..

naren said...

may be we can manage MWCC in that website..:-)

Very disappointed to see some of the founders of Peoria not show up for the elections. Not only did they not show up, but their representative was furiously involved in last campaining for Tariq. Kiran, Madhu..where ar you and why the no-show. Sheki my man, you rock !!

Rajiv said...

Jaguars is still looking for a team to play a practice match on Saturday April 24th? Please let me know at shah.raj@gmail.com asap or post here.

DeepDownWithin, I didn't mean to hurt your feelings, if it happened then I can’t be any help. I’ll request Kiran and Madhu to put you on our advisory board. Be patient! two more yrs for current mgmt, help them out. For time being you focus on cricket and show your class on ground. Seems like you’ve different class!!!!!

DeepDownWithin said...

Mr Muhammad, I am guessing you are the guy who represented Peoria. After how you tried taking votes away from current management, you are talking class? No more replies to you from me.

Fake said...

This is a blog, why is there expectation of class on the ground? One doesn't have to be a good player to participate in discussions here.

Thanks for the support Deep down..

But bud, election is over..so lets move on...

everybody,
lets put the election behind and work together..

Lets not take sides now or be partisan based..

Lets work together, regardless of who voted for who...and make this league better..

We can only get better by working together, so lets shed all the animosity and help each other...

At the end of the day, our goal is to make our league better...so lets work on that..

Cheers!

Well said Sheki and agreed on your suggestion. I just wanted to comment once on what I observed and as I mentioned earlier, I did not want to continue that conversation. Lets hope the weather clears up and its kirikeet time. Do you plan to bring in Cheerleaders for the Abid laheri night games? I am telling you its not a bad idea at all, you should talk to schools with cheerleading programs. The girls get an event to showcase what they have learnt and its a great crowd puller.

Also need a new website, this one has gone past its expiration date. Not sure how much it will cost you guys to build a new one, but please keep it in the back of your mind.

Unknown said...

Deepdown, itni ungli karna jitni bardasht kar sako. You started this BS. It's upto us who we would like to vote. If you want to be part of this business then join Peoria team, we will listen/entertain your suggestions/ideas.

We are working with current mgmt as we worked with last mgmt. So you don't worry-focus on your cricket if you play!

Bolling Brook Cricket Club justified driving all the way down from Chicago by producing a dashing batting display to take out Pak America by six wickets.

Young Fahad Barba showed he could a force to be reckoned with in the future as he blasted an impressive half century to set up the win.
The 18-year-old right-handed opener has had two years of national Under-19 competition exposure under his belt for Chicago Region, showed he should be in the national Under-19 team by year’s end, hitting four fours and two sixes in 59 as Bolling rattled up 177-6 chasing Pak America’s 176-8.

Syed Kamran supported well with 39 that also included four fours and two sixes and towards the end Manama Patel struck a swashbuckling 31 that had two fours and two sixes to seal the win.

Akil Khan Pathan, the former New York junior player took two wickets with his medium pace for Pak America and although he paired up with another ex Big Apple youth paceman Wasir Munir, they could not tame the hard hitting Chicago team.
-------

So is Syed Kamran=Kamran Syed? :-) The "squad" lists Ashhar, Wasim, Usman Shuja etc too.. sounds like a pretty good team, did all of them actually go?

And Akhil Pathan, of course, is the ICML guy who played against MCC in the CER-final last year.

Come on Naren .. you already have so many ways to get a batsman out ... now you want one more by making batsman wear skates .. so that he loses balance and misreads you .. :-)

looks like I found my pads ... Phoenix guys picked it up after i forgot it on the ground ...

Alpesh said...

Guys .. the Div 1 and Div 2 schedule is up on the website .. It still requires fine-tuning in determining who will host the games ... We plan to complete this in couple of days at max ...

Aditya said...

The 30/30 schedule is ready, but due to some last minute changes it has been delayed. It will be out before the AGM.

On a separate note, I am looking for volunteers to join the scheduling committee to manage this task. Ajoy from Arena is already on the committee, so looking for 2 more people.

Send me an email at aditya@midwestcricket.org if you are interested.

Hi,

Phoenix is looking to play a practice game on Saturday at WP 4 - weather permitting. Anyone interested?

ice_cold said...

Is the rule about rain outs still valid (more than 3 rain outs means reschedule)?

Adi, about the scheduling comm, are you looking for people to volunteer for this year or next? I guess this year's is all set?
