Midwest Cricket - Free Agency

Like the NBA, NFL, and MLB, the MWCC too will begin it's season with a Free Agency period - of sorts. It's not quite as organized as the NBA, or as publicized as the NFL, or even as formal as the MLB, but like those leagues, there is a definite period of trying to add new talent to each team.

And its becoming quite an active period this year. There are all kinds of rumours about various players joining specific teams to make them stronger. With all the Divisions getting stronger and all teams becoming more competitive, good talent is a premium in this league.

So, if you are looking for a team, or know of any teams that are looking for people, do post it on this blog so that we can facilitate the MWCC Free Agency.

A shameless example is that of Phoenix - a Div 1 team that competed for the championship 2 years ago, and is looking for some players now. So, if you're a bowler, pace or spin, or a batsman, top or middle order, or a keeper, we definitely need you. If you're interested, please send an email to aditya.burman@gmail.com and help this team regain some of it's swagger.

Like I said - a shameless example of how to publicize your needs!! :)

I like the Free Agency period, its exciting and entertaining.

There are a few good players out there who are looking for teams to play or are planning to change something.

I dont think there is any shame in this Adi. Challengers are fortunate to have a close knit unit and are able to hold them together. A season ago, we were shopping and looking for talent as well. We bumped into the same recruits and tried to steal from each other, if you remember that.

Its all part of the game...thats what makes it interesting...

But, it would be nice, if ppl can post over here as soon as a trade or buyout or merger happens...something to keep the blog smoking...

keep it real fellas..!!
And good luck to everybody..including me.. :-)

Can't comment like Aditya but here it is(again):

Those few ex-Phoenix players registered a new 30/30 team. If you or someone you know, who is interested in playing, full time, send an email to mitul25@hotmail.com. We are mainly looking for good batsmen.

Thank you.

Mitul,

I am interested in playing for your new 30/30 team. I am primarily a batsman but can bowl a little leg spin if you need. I think you have my email address so let me know what you think?

Unknown said...

I will ask rest of the team members and let you know.

AAA had a disappointing season last year but survived to stay in Div 1. They have added a key batsmen and bowler but it does not hurt to have more talent. They are a great bunch of guys and are looking for Div one caliber batsman, bowlers, and spinners. If anyone is interested and looking to play for a DIV 1 team contact via face book @ AAA Cricket Club or email me at yourlaundrysales@gmail.com. Please leave name, number, and talent or teams that you have played for in Midwest Cricket Conference or any other leagues.

Aditya,

BTW: We are looking for FULL TIME players only for the 30/30 team.

I heard that Collinsville is not going to be part of MWCC this season.
This is what I have heard from uncomfirmed sources.

Well Arena will be there this season too. Anyone moving to STL or adjoining areas and interested in playing let me know :).

Your team looks good..... We should have a practice game in the coming weeks.... I believe Rogers Park is playing as a team in Div II and would be the team to beat .... Anyone status update on teams either dropping out/ new teams forming / player movement etc., ???

Cricket Eagles has lost Ram this season. He will be moving to Singapore shortly.
It will be a huge loss for us.
We also have included two new players this year. Nandan and Deepak.

The defending champs acquired Charlie Patel from Royals, just because we didnt feel like we had enough Patels in our team.

On paper, we should be stronger, but then again, it doesnt always play out that way..does it....

But, we are ready to defend our title....

Sheks,

Wish you the very best. I will not say "Good Luck" because I think you are one of those folks who believe in your self rather than destiny/luck. You make your own.
We hope you win and remove the exclusivity rule...

Hello Teams,

I am a solid top order batsman for Falcons and decent medium fast bowler. I play for the central texas league in division one and have been a consistent performer and will be moving to chicago due to my job change.
Here is my profile

I would like to play in Division one for Midwest Cricket Conference League and would like to see if there are any takers for this allrounder.

Please email me if you are interested to
rohit.chaiwla@gmail.com and if possible let me know why I should be playing for your team.

Regards
Rohit
