Week 8 Predictions and Results
The last week before the long weekend and what can be viewed as the middle of the season. After this, teams can take stock of their position, and then make a run at the playoffs. No team has secured a berth as yet, but there are some knocking on the door on all three divisions. Who takes another step closer to the post season?

Rup ..
You were enquiring abt IIT games .. I got some information abt the IIT-Hammond game ...
IIT scored 354 in 40 overs .. They were 165 something in 20 overs .. In reply Hammond were 193/4 in 20 overs .. Then the match had rain and some controversies ... hence the decision is still pending .. But I think that Hammond would be winning the match based on the 20 over rule ...
WOW..354 in 40 overs..then 193/4 in 20 overs..
scores like thes make you want to play 20/20 only cause i will not like to be running all over for 354..I will need two weeks of rest for the next game..
All said if the score is true i see no reason why Hamond will not get the win..20 over run rate.
Shekhs..How ya do'n.
Let us in on the opening ceremony for night T.. Give us the Goodies so we can come out??.
Predictions for this week end.
For sure we will get more rain..100%..may be ok to play in the afternoon both days???
After this week a few Teams may be out of it because of all the rain outs??
I know ICC can't afford another one if we are thinking play offs.
By the way.. Thanks for the FYI on Gaints..Tonald.
I know everyone wishes them success and hope the can once a gain become the giants of the old.. They were truly one of the better teams in our league for some time now.
Rup,
Doing well....howya doing?
We are trying to get something done to have all of MCC over on the opening day of Night tournament.
I'll let you know as soon as we have something finalized.

I'll second this.
However, I'll also add that maybe things arent quite as bleak as Tonald indicated :-) Shashi isnt gone gone per se, for eg - he's very busy with the movie and all, but he did show up for the Madison game (which ended up being rained out). Rauf is a very good pickup if he's around - he's been a good player for a while, as is Asif Syed. The Giants picked up one new guy this year, Usman (a student at DePaul) who looked a very good player to me - good aggressive lefty batsman (has scored a couple 40s already this year), and a usefulish lefty mediumpacer.
Tonald knows these things better than me, probably.. but the Giants did indicate that Yasin was busy, but might try and play 3 games (if the playoffs look a possiblity) to be eligible etc.
Anyway. I agree its a rebuilding year for them probably, especially given that theyve been within 10 runs of making Division One each of the past 2 seasons. And we all wish them well - they were a good bunch of guys, hopefully they'll be able to fix whatever problems they had and get their full side together again.

I'll let you know as soon as we have something finalized.

This last minute thing... seems like we can never get rid of it?.
4 beautiful days left to prime time.. on which will we be notified of the great upcoming occasion??
About the IIT-Hammond game; Alpesh had the scores spot on after 20 overs. However, the game wasn't called off due to unplayable ground conditions/rain. We started again after the rain break and when Hammond required about 145 runs in 15 overs (with 3 wickets remaining) there was a major heated argument between the Hammond players and the umpire….. There were quite a few incidents prior to this, including one where one of the Hammond players physically assaulting an IIT member. After this last heated argument and 3 warnings issued by the umpire to the Hammond players on the field to stop their behavior, the umpire snatched the ball from IIT declaring on the field that he was awarding the game to IIT. Thus this game is left in the hanging with the umpire supposedly submitted his report to the league...and we all are waiting for the management's decision.
Vasu ..
Hope the management gives the justice ...
However, I also do not see the result of ur match against Lucky 11.. Any news on that match ??
Rup,
You're right, its last minute thing, but I'm trying to get something outta it...
I need your support.. :-)
Worst case scenario, the drinks are on me.. :-)

The game between IIT and Lucky XI was rescheduled to a later date (not known yet) due to some scheduling mess-up. We are supposed to hear something from the management abt the date soon. As of now this means we may end up playing on one of the long weekends or even back-to-back games on saturday and sunday.
ai'ight Shekhs.. How can We/I help you to make this opening day a blast??.
Let us know...
So let see..
IIT ..a bunch of nice guys..
Hammond a bunch of nice guys too..
how did ya all manage to pull off a Hair..Darell that is on this game.
I hate to see good games ruined as this one did.. sometimes it take a lot of guts to stay in the game and we all need to do that once in a while to avoid the above
Just my take

Gee. Physically assaulting? What happened? Was it seen by the umpire too?
So when was the rain, anyway? There was no rain threat or bad conditions when the game was actually called off? It was entirely due to misbehaviour? If thats the case, then the 20/20 rule doesnt apply and its a relatively clear-cut case Id guess.. but only if thats clearly the case.
It sounds like an interesting game anyway.. tell us more about it :-) It was actually 354 in 40 overs, with almost 200 made in reply in 20 or so overs? Hammond has always been a really good batting track, but even so thats impressive!

Big Hitter ..
Thanks for predicting in our favour for the first time .. but again sorry, as you will be wrong .. as we will have to give walkover to Collinsville due to unavailability of full team .. only 7 available ...
AAA vs Chicago Cricket Club: Chicago won the toss and elected to bat. Chicago never gained any momentum and were bowled out for 105. Ebrahim being the leading wicket taker with 3.
AAA went to bat and reached the total with great ease in 19 overs. Abdul played another master knocke of 51.
7/13 AAA vs Lucky 11 - this game will be a treat for the audience.
7/13 AAA vs Lucky 11 - this game will be a treat for the audience.
-------------------
Please tell me how this game will be a treat? AM I missing something here? One team is good and the other is not.. Do you really think lucky will even try to beat AAA? Hell no man this game is done AAA win already fixed cooked what ever word you want to use...
Eagles beat Chicago Fire
Eagles - 152 all out (Mankesh - 33 and 3 wickets)
Chicago Fire 82 all out
Royals Vs Phoenix
Royals beat Phoenix by 10 odd runs
Royals won the toss and batted first. We started cautiously and were around 63/3 in 20 overs. Chirag played patient innings scoring 27? but then we ended up loosing quick wickets after the break and got bundled out for 143.
It was tough task to defend a small target as we knew Phoenix has a deep batting line up.
Phoenix lost their 1st wicket in 2nd over but Priyank was looking good at the other end. He was bowled in 6-7th over?
Phoenix were 59/3 in 20 overs. Aditya and Jaggi played patient innings and were consolidating in singles and doubles. But then came spinning duo, Hetal and Bharat and they ran thru the line up. They both bowled beautifully.
Phoenix needed around 30 in 6 overs with one wicket remaining. Sameer Khan and Mitul tried to take them closer to the victory till the mix up ended up in a run out.
The game could have gone either side and it was an excellent team efforts by both sides.
Good luck to Phoenix for the remaining season.
Samir_RoyalsCC
Congrats Ram, Preetam and Samir!
Monkey off our back???
Challengers Vs. Milwaukee - Lincoln Park, Milwaukee.
Challengers won by 7 wickets!
Challengers won the toss and decided to field...as the forecast predicted rain later in the day ..and the ground was moist and wet from overnight showers..
Nilesh started off briliantly beating and getting edges off of both the openers...but our fielders failed to hold on to the chances...
about 4 chances were passed on...before challengers decided to make some bowling changes..
Milwaukee consolidated by this time, were at 45 for no loss..
With some tight bowling from either sides by Afroze and Bhavesh, Milwaukee was feeling the pressure to score...Afroze picked up the first 3 wickets by trapping Romesh leg before, bowling Kashif, and acknowledging a return from Kabir...
Suddenly Milwaukee were at a very precarious position...
With Darshan brought at the other end, along with Afroze...kept the pressure on Milwaukee..
Darshan removed the dangerous Asif and a mixup resulting in a runout..put Challengers in a commanding position...
Challengers ran thru the rest of the line up with Bhavesh and Nilesh picking the tail..
Milwaukee were bundled out for 91 in 35 overs!
Challengers started off brilliantly....or rather Darshan blasted off brilliantly...
Pulling, hoicking, lofting Wade allen and Kabir for some big hits...Darshan was 28 out of the 31 in the first 4 overs..
Milwaukee was forced to change their bowlers..
Asif picked up Bhavesh's wicket......but darshan was unstoppable at the other end..
With another brilliant fifty..Darshan brought Challengers home in 12.4 overs..
It was a treat to watch Darshan bat...with some exhilarating shots...
Thanks Milwaukee for being such a wonderful hosts..and some good food!!
Monkey off our back - We finally managed to play an entire game without any rain interruptions..
although, at one point when we were batting, a bunch of us were ready with the covers as it was beginning to drizzle a bit..and we were like..yeah another 2 points..
:-)
But, I think we got the monkey off of us..

Jack, Jackie Boy, Jackster,
Best way for me to answer this question is to ask you one simple question. When Evanston and Illinois play eachother is that just another game for you guys or does ICC and Evanston consider that a Rivalry game for bragging rights?
This game AAA vs Lucky 11 is for bragging rights amongst themselves as most of them are mutual friends.
As far game being fixed - Ya Right it will be fixed just like how AAA vs Illinois, IIT, and Eagles was.
man I like how you give me like 3 diff names
Jack, Jackie Boy, Jackster
no the games not fixed..
thanks Shekhs. Same to you.
Across the park was Phoenix-Royals game. Another low scoring one.
Ai'ight fellas..
Get us some more match reports.
Was it the weather conditions that played a major role in the Low scores???.
Ajoy,, what up with the Arena report???
congrat to all the winners and may the next game be better for our loosers.
Oh..Forgot...Let not Fight in trying to post the info...
Mid season update on Division 2 teams:
First I propose this theme song for teams that may face relegation to division 3 (30/30). Sing with me folks, sing with me ……..TAKE ME OUT TO DIVISION 3, TAKE ME OUT TO DIVISION 3, GIVE ME SOME PLAYERS LIKE RUP AND JACK, I DON’T CARE IF I NEVER COMEBACK TO DIVISION 2. LET ME ROOT ROOT FOR AAA, IF THEY DON’T WIN IT’S A SHAME, FOR ITS ONE, TWO, THREE WINS & THEY ARE OUT OF DIV 2..
Out Of Playoff Picture:
1. Hammond – Div 3 will be better for them.
2. Titans - Have talent but another disappointing year.
3. Springfield – Overachieved and got lucky last year by making playoffs due to excessive walkover flu.
4. Fire - First year in this league, all young guys and showing good heart. Fire needs some veteran leadership inorder to improve.
5. CCI - Cinderella year last year but facing harsh reality as lack of talent bringing them back to earth. Guess sledging bs not working lol.
6. Chicago Cricket Club - Few seasoned veterans like Gill brother but they need a lot of rebuilding to do before they can become competitive.
Playoff Pretenders/Prisoner of Hope:
1. Lucky 11
2. Collinsville
3. Giants
4. Illinois CC - Rup cannot do it by himself every year can he?
5. Jolly Rovers - My upset pick for mid season collapse.
Playoff Contenders aka Real Deal:
1. AAA
2. Eagles
3. Evanston
4. QC Kings – Yes they should make it easily
5. IIT - Slow start this year but they know how to win.
6. Jaguars
7. Madison
8. Arena
** ICC or Giants can sneak in take Jaguars spot if Jags are not careful.
Lets see what others think.
Thank you Tonald for considering us to be a play off team.
Thank you Shekhs. Congrats sto you too. Congrats to all the winners and good luck to all those who played, tried but could not win this week. Lot of games still to go.
I know ICC will defenitely make it to the playoffs. They are too good a team not to be in it.
Rup, i don't know about other low scores but ours was defenitely not due to weather. it was purely lack of application while batting. Although we bounced back strongly while bowling.
Since the last few games we are being hit severely due to inavailability of some of our key players. GG, subbu, vishnu etc were all not available due to one reason or the other. Once we have our full team we will defenitely try to match out of every game.
I think this year a few good teams are affected by the rain. Hopefully they will make up for it by winning convincingly in the games they get to play.

Nobody quite knows what happened in terms of CER selection... whether MCC was informed its players had been picked (and MCC didnt confirm their availability in time), or else whether MCC wasnt told in time, or else whether MCC was told, but couldnt get in contact with CER management when they tried to confirm etc etc. Either way, a lot of the MCC players *would* have been available - but they arent on the squad to start with due to this stuff apparently.
As for the team itself..the "official" breakdown is not all ACC. Shahzad Butt, the captain (about 40 years old, if you were at the banquet he was the guy with the bandana who started the dancing) is from GLCC (Detroit), as are 2 others (Gautam, the pretty decent medium-pacer - we have a few better in our league IMHO, but thats also because I hear Gautam has lost pace due to shoulder issues lately.. used to be very good from what I was told), plus the keeper is from GLCC. Three more players are from ICML, the team that made the finals (Amer Afzaluddin didnt play in the CER; Malik was the highest scorer of the tournament - though the rumour is that he is actually from NY!; and Wahab is a pretty decently quick paceman with occasional lapses in control.. Raheel did better in the tournament overall than Wahab did IMHO, bowling at similar or better pace.. and the rumour is that Wahab is from NY also :-)
Faisal Baif [ ;-) ] is from NCL officially, as is Abhi - since they played for NCL in the tournmaent.
Five players are from ACC (all 5 played in the CER tournament, all played on the side that was beaten by Midwest by 150 runs).. Hashim, Sunny, Syed, Moit, Mir Ali. In that game, the only ACC player who distinguished himself was actually Ashhar Mehdi, the keeper who made 40+ (out of 140 allout).. but he is actually not available and thus not on the team!
Sundeep Vanga and Saminda Siriwardena are both listed from "MCC".. it looks like that is the Minnesota league (Vanga's name I found in the Minnesota website.. BTW, Minnesota's current top rungetter and supposedly the guy who was presumptive captain of their side was Fawad.. who two days ago made 75 for Muslim Gym against Bears at Washington Park :-). Anyway, since Minnesota's league didnt actually play in the CER, the presence of 2 of their players in the final squad is.. interesting, to say the least :-)
Sadly, I think Sean can be very confident in the knowledge that this team will not give him any sleepless nights before or during the tournament... it is, instead, IMHO, a team that, if it played the Midwest all-star Second XI, would probably get pretty soundly beaten.

Thank you Shekhs...

So when was the rain, anyway? There was no rain threat or bad conditions when the game was actually called off? It was entirely due to misbehaviour?
------
I shall now answer my own question (in case others might be interested in this topic too).. since I umpired both Hammond and IIT this weekend and heard a little bit more about the game :-)
Apparently IIT 354 - Vasu got his first-ever ton, Sahil 50-odd, few other 40-odd scores. Hammond came back with apparently a fantastic ton from Shehzad, who got a century off about 50 balls or some such. Then the call-off by the umpire.
The "assault" was apparently the Hammond batsman hurling his bat at the IIT keeper (which struck him on his back), and then going to him and slapping him (while still wearing his batting gloves)! :-)
Apparently after 22 overs there was rain for 15-20 minutes. When the game resumed, the umpire informed IIT that they had 1.5 hours to bowl their remaining 18 overs, or else the game would be unfinished (and presumably decided on 20-over rule), since the game had to end by 5:30 and no later! Iam not entirely sure where this comes from, but anyway. Some Hammond players were of the opinion that the conditions were not fit for resumption, that at least another half-hour of drying would be better (and then, of course, IIT would have only 1 hour to bowl their remaining 18 overs, since the game still had to end by 5:30 :-)
Anyway. The umpire decided conditions were good enough for resumption, which is all that matters I suppose. Hammond was unhappy at the conditions, lost a few wickets, and needed 140-odd more in 15 overs with 3 wickets in hand. There was an argument and slanging match between the non-striker and the umpire (mostly about whether conditions were actually fit for play or not), which apparently continued across the length of the pitch when he was taking strike too. The umpire apparently warned the batsman (IIT says warned 3 times) that he would call off the game if he didnt stop arguing, the batsman continued his argument, the umpire called off the game and awarded it to the fielding side.

why is it that the guys who didnt play in the cer are selected in the team but the guys who played and they didnt confirm their selection in time were not selected
on a good note AL starts today, almost a month later that it was supposed to be.
Got a point there Crazy.. They should have gotten replacement players who participated in the CER.
If the did not then it's bad.. but that is not something new around here .. or for that matter the entire USA.
Hey,,anyone tried sending sympathy e-mail to the address given for Adeel..
Mines came back undeliverable??.
Finger... Do we have the name of the player who hit with a bat then slapped with a glove?? ...
Seems like we had a new version of WWF.. or should we say MCC Mania
Rup,

Mid season update on Division 2 teams:
First I propose this theme song for teams that may face relegation to division 3 (30/30).
--------
First of all, actually, I dont think 30/30 is Division 3 anyway :-) That is, I dont believe there is going to be any demotion to 30/30 if youre the bottom two teams etc. After all, what if a couple of away teams end up bottom of the table? The whole reason for 30/30 is that it is *local* to Chicago, involving no travel.. thats why 3-4 teams have already left 2nd divison and moved to 30/30. If youre going to introduce away teams to 30/30, that would defeat the entire purpose of its existance :-)
To me 30/30 was created to be a different league - sort of competition for ACC. Anyone can play in it, if they want extra cricket - this is why 30/30 standards are actually pretty good (lots of really good Div1 players play in 30/30 teams too, whenever they want extra cricket). And its big thing is that it is a half-day game, and local.. people with families, they find it easier to play in Chicago from, say, 9am to 1pm on a Saturday morning, and then be done. I have a feeling more and more teams will start migrating to this league - especially if its 5-6 away games a year with current (or higher) gas prices in the future :-)
Secondly, in terms of this playoff preview... we dont actually know for sure how many teams are going to the playoffs, do we? That kind of makes any predictions very difficult :-) If its going to be only 8 teams, then the scenario is entirely different for some teams than if its, say, 10 teams. (12 would be a little ridiculous - you ought to never have 12 teams going to a playoff from a 19-team league IMHO).
c8w
It was a good atmosphere at Hanover Park today ... A crowd of about 30-40 people ... A good tight game ... when I left Challengers were 46/2 in 7-8th over chasing 108 ... Not to forget good biryani ... too ..
All in all ...good work Shekhs bhai and rest of the 20-20committee
I also would like to know How did Challengers get to play the first game of the night tourney?? who made that schedule? Was there some formula used based on last year performance or is it a privilege that came with being the VP of night tourney?
Adnan Baig

==========================
how about being the defending champions from last years tournament being a good enough reason to play in the opener?
Why does there always have to be doubts about every single thing that the mgmt does....even for a simple thing like who plays the first game in a tournament...the bottom line is all teams that participate will play the same number of games right?
how about being the defending champions from last years tournament being a good enough reason to play in the opener?

Good enough reason Cleo. That's all that needed to be said. There must be a reason for everything that we do to make sure no bias is shown.
Adnan Baig

Adnan,
Why is it that you got problem with CHALLENGERS, 2 OR 3 years ago we weren't defending champs and we still played AL tournament opener because the defending champ were playing us next day and they didn't want to play, but we still played that night and next day, I didn't see u coming to our rescue, and now you got nerves to say it was because he's VP, I thought you and him and some of the buddy's are on the same side.
Adnan, on a real note please get over this crap because you are not helping cricket you are hurting it.
Thanks,
Tushar
Shekhs, come on man there is no reason to fly off the handle. Just explain the reasoning behind the scheduling and I am satisfied.
Tushar I don't have a problem with Challengers, it's people like you who are hurting Cricket by keep taking what managemnet is dishing.
Adnan

We won brutha...
Some big hits from our original blasters Tushar and Mahesh sealed the deal.
We made 108 in 13 overs.
Appreciate the support man!

This can be viewed on the HCL homepage. www.houstoncricket.org
test
Sean, that is great..can you share how do you guys do that with live score? Wanted to see if it is feasible to do for us?
Thanks
In the end Challengers made easy work of the target but I must say was a good atmosphere for opening night.
Kudos to all who made it possible and all who attended, to show support.
Sadiq Sir ...
In one of your last few posts .. you had mentioned about match need to get over by so n so time .. It seems that MWCC has a time rule .. that match should be completed within 7 hours of start time and at max, it can be extended by half n hr ... So I think umpire of IIT-Hammond was right in mentioning about the time deadlines ...
The time rule is there and it covers playing time with the exception of rain.
Seeing we do not have the Duck/lewis the team batting second must be allowed to bat the same over the first team batted. If rain falls then the match has to be extended by the delay time..
The prelim report on this game shows the umpire not allowing time for the rain delay.
The second innings should be allowed for completion as long as sunlight is out (Ithink this is also in the rule)
Did anybody notice todays match against IND vs Pak in Asia cup ? One of the Pakistan's openere Nazir is declared Retired Hurt with cramps. If he is in a position to bat with a runner may be umpire may have allowed, but apparently he is not so he walked out and decarled retired hurt.
Any thoughts on this? Just to verify others take on this.
Good Friend .. Leave aside the India-Pak match ... :) Today the AL 20-20 match was awesome .. reminds me of the first IPL 20-20 match Knight Riders against Royal Challengers ...
Midnight Pirated scored a mammoth 194/4 in 20 overs ... Their Captain Satyam Kaneria scoring 116*(51) with some great clean hitting ... 9 4s and 9 6s ... At one stage ..they 7 overs 36/2 .. so you can imagine ... how great the onslaught was ... Shameer also scored 44.
In reply, Royals got bundled out for 72 in 15.4 overs .. Again their was amazing display of swing bowling by Pirates .. Above of all the bowlers was Shameer - who got the first 6 Royals wickets to fell in his first 3 overs ... 1st over - 3 wickets, 2nd over - 1 wicket and 3rd over - 2 wickets .. in all his bowling analysis - 4-0-9-6.
Div 2 bowlers .. watch out for Satyam now .. as he has got back into his last year rhythm now ...
Congrats to Pirates and Hard Luck Royals ...
Thanks Shekhs bhai .. for allowing me to umpire me this match and witness the match so closely .. :)
Wow thats a huge knock from Satyam...
Congrats to Pirates...looks like they are gonna steal some this year..
Appu, thanks for umpiring the game..glad you enjoyed it..
Sure it looks like a great knock and congrats and all the best to Jags this season.
Div 2 is no walk over there are some very good bowlers and it won't be that easy to repeat that every match. But anyway good luck.
shekhs please give details of al tourney playoffs bcoz setup diff this year. only 3 groups. thanks.
pirates game awesome. they will top group despite united. satyam was devastating. challs may have 2 give up title if jags continue in form.
I believe I am the top bowler of Division II and if Satyam can hit 10 sixes in my 8 overs that I played against him, then I am sure that he can destroy any bowler, any time, any day, any where. So Mr. Good Friend, I don't know where you are getting your stats, but you should go back and review the stats from last year, as Satyam hits 500 odd runs in like 13-14 matches. Hats off to that guy. He can change the game faster than you can blink.
Also, the bowling as you saw sir, was just unbeatable. What a start by the boy, just went in and started the destruction from the 1st ball.
Big Hitta..
Top 2 teams from each group will qualify for playoffs, so from 3 groups 6 teams will qualify based on total points, run rate etc.
The top 2 teams in this super six (based on the points and run rate again) will have a bye, and the bottom 4 will play a - PRE SEMI FINAL.
The winners of this pre semi final will play in the semi final and then ther will be 2 teams..
Yeah, looks like the jags are on a roll..Challengers need to be watchful..
Betterfriend.not.goodfriend..you may be a good bowler but it doesn't mean other's are bad. I am not belating someone's knock but just trying to be more conservative. You better comment in your original name whether it is tonald or donald dont't confuse ur self.
Good Friend,
The name is Tonald and this "better friend not good friend goof" is not me nor have I ever claimed or will claim to be a top bowler.
Satyam is a good aggressive batsman and that's about it.

Its always good to be conservative, especially since it is just one game - there are many games left. However it sounds like it was a quite devastating innings, against a pretty damn good attack too.. the Royals have a very good bowling lineup (they just successfully defended 140 against Div1-points-table-leading Phoenix last weekend, for example).
Anyway. Anyone checking the Western Regional scores? I just checked in.. and our Central-East side was getting hit around the park, to the tune of about 150 runs in about 26 overs or something, for only like 2 wickets down...and then suddenly its now 185/5 in 34 overs, with Abhijit 3/22 in 4 overs!! Abhi, who barely ever gets a bowl for United in Div1! Good on the kid, MCC players (despite almost none being picked) already representin :-)
(Makes you think, too.. if the attack was Shahid, Nilesh, Satish, Mehul, Asif etc, wonder what NW would have made. Sad).
(BTW, in the other game, Franklyn Rose has 3/36 in 6 overs :-)

Yes, I'm following it. I have played with/against most of the NorthWest players. And of course also with half the CentralEast players.
Already sent a text message to my current captain teasing him for getting out to a "kid". :-) He was the first wicket to fall after a solid 100ish opening partnership w/ Hasan Amin.

Yes, I saw that your fave ex-teammate only went for 31 off his 4 overs today :-)
With young Abhi running thru the lineup, the Microsoftwallahs have obviously hacked into the system so the rest of the world doesnt find out about their secret shame, and the score is stuck at 185/5 in 34 overs (this despite the fact that next door the 50 overs have been completed). But the Truth will Out! Satyamevijayte!

MCC representin my ass. MCC banned him for aspiring to play higher-level cricket, and now that he does well in higher-level cricket, it is "MCC representin"?! Satyameva Jayate indeed!
Are you sure he won't be banned again upon his return from Houston? Followed by show-cause, remorse, ...

All,
Satyam played trumendous knock!! Boy, he did connect!! It was his day!! Also, great bowling by Shameer? It seemed he'd get wickets every ball :)
BTW, just a freindly advice, watch out for the foul language & personal remarks to the batsman while batting!! Scoring 190+ seemed tougher task for us...so no need for it :)...after all, CRICKET HAS TO WIN!!! just my personal thought!!

So the first game of the Western Regionals is over.. and the Central-East team lost by the small matter of 226 runs.
North-West 329/9 in 50 overs, Central-East were 103 allout in 35 overs in reply.
Syed Wahab (who was on the US squad a month ago, supposedly plays some in the ACC - though he didnt play in the CER tournament last month).. had 10-0-36-1 while bowling, and made 33 with the bat. Other than him...one other CER batsman got 16, nobody else in double-figures (eerily similar to what these same players did against Midwest CC at the CER tournament - there only 3 players got past 20 against MCC in the entire tournament, two of them themselves MCC players in Abhijit and Faisal.. and the third, Ashhar, isnt at the Western Regionals. The definition of insanity might well be watching the same batsmen produce the same non-performances against quality bowlers, and yet expecting different results the next time around). In the bowling department, 4 wickets were taken by Abjhijit - who doesnt even get to bowl for his Div1 MCC team usually (other than Syed Wahab, the best "other" figures bowling-wise were 9-0-59-1).
This is what happens when you take a mediocre team to the Regionals. But then the CER must be used to it, because they take a mediocre team year after year, and get beaten just like this year after year. This year at least there was a chance (for a brief shining moment) that CER could be somewhat competitive by putting up a good team, after MCC played (and won) the tournament.. but the Dark Forces of politics took over, once more no MCC players are in the squad, and once more CER is back to being the laughing-stock and whipping-boy of the Regionals.
Tomorrow they take on South-West, who were upset by Central-West today. Bowling at our old buddy TarunReddy in a bad mood. Good luck, fellas :-)

Mr.Sadiq,
you write very well. I am not a frequent visitor to this blog but generally am interested to know how and what people are thinking.
I must say, your comments about CER team (being weak) is not too far from the truth. However, nobody but your MCC management is responsible for this.
I personally know a few selected MCC players were approached despite inaction from their MCC management. These players were so "afraid" and "indifferent" to the requests made to be part of the team. But the "Arrogant Management" had to prove a point that without them the CER is not going to be competetive. Well, proven it is, once again..but who is the loser here? those who are trying to be part of the process or those who think they are GOD and chose to remain outside of the process?
The reasons may be many to not participate, but the right mind will try to find one reason, one good reason to be part of the process. I am very surprised that they did not find one small reason to be part of the process.
I also see a lot of contradictions in MCC management style. One small example: There was no trials, no selectors announced for picking up their team to participate in the CER regionals...but they find fault with CER approach to select the team.
Mr. Sadiq, I do not know you nor do you know me..it is not a personal comment but, I can make an educated guess going by your posts that you must be a well educated and well respected person in the league. So going by that, I hate to admit that, even people like you choose to provide your admin and management the cover and benefit of doubt that they really do not deserve. Have you really thought of this - what is that you and people like yours in the league stand to gain by choosing not to expose the visionless, arrogant management style?
Please do not laugh at the team that is "at least participating and trying"..It must be MCC as a whole that needs introspection. A wise man once said "The larger the tree is and more fruits it bears, it bends down" You also keep writing "IMHO" so many times...
The real humbleness comes from admitting the mistakes, "bending dowm", taking the responsibility for what happened and not by just writing IMHO hundreds of times. I hope that you would take the right steps to set the facts straight. DO not drop the ball please by saying "I do not know" as this argument does not hold water. If you did not know then, why did you not choose to keep silent? If you have to say something, then first go find the facts before choosing to write. How many of you have asked your president regarding this as to if he was really notified of the selections or not? Have you all held your President accountable for this? Ask for an audit trail. Then you will know, how truthful your president was?
I remember Mahabharat Story in which Kaurava's father himself becomes the reason for his 100 son's downfall and destruciton. That is all due to his own ego, personal grudge, inability to accept ones own faults and using his own offsprings for personal gains...Just think about it.
sadiq you sound like a petulant spoiled lil girl, who just cannot accpet reality and continue your drivel, you refuse to acknowledge that mwcc management is capable of making any mistakes and continue to bash the people that are playing with nothing but heart, in hopes of trying to beat a better team then them. you are like that old fox who couldn't get to the fruit tree, so watching other people eating the fruit has to say the fruits were probably sour!!! take your head out of your as$ and grow up. wuda coulda, if and buts then we are all nuts. IMHO.

Whoah, ok.. I roll home a bit past midnight, and find two posts directly implicating me in "mocking" the CER team, when that was the last thing intended!
Maybe it came across wrong - probably wrote it badly in my disappointment. But I wasnt trying to mock or laugh at the team at all - Iam sure theyre trying their best. What I was upset about was the politics that brought this to pass once again, for the umpteenth time - I dont think anyone will deny that this wasnt close to being a collection of the very best players in the Central-East states playing on that team in Texas.
Neither am I denying MCC managements fault - as Ive said before, I think there is plenty of blame to go around in this instance, for all sides. It cannot have been that difficult to select the best team (or at least a very good team) for this Western Regional tournament. The fact that it didnt happen means there is blame to *everyone* involved in the selection process IMHO.
But the team or the players are in no way at fault. I was hoping (honestly) that they would win today - mostly so I could call Samarth and mock his new team (ok, not a particularly altruistic reason, but still). I hope they do well - they are our representatives at the regionals after all, their performance reflects what people think of the standard of cricket in this area of the country. Which is also precisely why I wanted so badly for the best possible players to be on this team, so we could put our best foot forward as a region.. and I suppose why it pisses me off so badly that it didnt happen, for reasons I personally still find completely and utterly unfathomable.

Mr. Level-head (nice name, BTW :-)
I appreciate your comments, honestly - they give us much to think about (the first big thing they made me realize that I really ought not to write in frustration after a loss.. because my criticisms of officials are apparently coming across as criticisms of players, which was not at all what I intended. Apologies for that).
But if I may say one thing about the above... you say "do not drop the ball by saying I dont know". Well, I cant help it - that happens to be the honest truth. I really dont know. I wish I did :-) And it isnt like I havent tried to find out, either.
You say that MCC management is at fault for the selections. MCC management says that CER management is at fault for the selections. Your post seemed level-headed (by both name as well as content).. but, in the end, it is a post on a blog by someone anonymous. Dont you see that it would make it difficult for everyone to believe compeletely, for example?
If what you say is true, youre very well informed - far more than most of us (certainly me). All I know is second-hand, from talking to a couple of MCC players who did well at the CER tournament and should have been picked for this team - they didnt say anything about being contacted by CER. What they said was that they heard from our management that our management couldnt get its calls answered by the CER folk while trying to confirm our players availability.
These are players who should have been playing this weekend - so I believed what I heard from them (and believe me, Ive asked several people to find out why we dont have players on this team). If you know differently (and you sound as if you do).. I wish youd let us know who you are and how you came by the information, for example :-) Everyone knows who the rest of us on here are on this blog (well, at least they seem to know who Iam :-)..if youre with CER management, for instance, please let us know, tell us your view of this :-) It would honestly make it easier to believe than if its just an anonymous post.
I was one of the few people who was openly advocating for the past few years that MCC ought to play the CER tournament - at a time when management completely disagreed with the notion - because Ive always thought it was vital for the CER to have a good team at the regionals, instead of being beaten badly every year. This year our management finally did put up a team at the CER (whatever faults there may have been in their internal selection process, at least they finally put up a team! And won the damn thing too, so any criticism of their selections must neccesarily be muted). To not have any players from that winning side in this regional squad, and to have a weak team at the regionals again... its just horribly awfully frustrating, thats all. And in my frustration I personally blame *everyone* involved in this fiasco - from CER management to MCC management, everybody. Everyone from every league just needs to sit down in a room and pick the best damn 14 players from this region to go play at the regionals.. and *then* lets see if Samarth's damn Seattle latte-drinkers or Sean's bloody Texan-chili-eaters actually do play better cricket than us or not. Why is that so hard to do?
c8w
My Chilli-eaters played very well yesterday, especially recovering from Franklyn Rose's opening spell, which was frighteningly quick and accurate.
Sadiq Sir ..
Diverting from the Regionals topic ... I think we require some strict policy for chucking in our league ... Atleast if we (Umpires) cannot call them for chucking in the match .. atleast we report it to the mgmt .. so that they can be barred from bowling in subsequent matches or bowl only those balls which they can deliver properly ..
In my last match as umpire, I found a experienced player chucking when used to pitch good-length or short balls ... full length deliveries were fine ... I warned him and the captain ... and they did keep that in mind while bowling .. But the counter argument I got from that was baffling me ... they have not been called for chucking until now and that they have been playing in the league for long ...
We need to have a process right now and so that in future we do not come across such situations when our plyers play at top levels ...
Mr. Sadiq,
no need to apologize. The only thing you have done is not take sides. This approach would not help solve the current MCC stand against the official body.
Within MCC nobody can trust other without being looked at Management's croony.
Your equating MCC and CER to hsare the blames equally is not correct. Did you approach anyone in CER? I did. I went to USACA site got a couple of names and their emails and wrote them asking to help clarify.
Mr. Joshi, responded promptly, he did share with me the efforts made to get MCC involved. He had no malice in his tone at all but only deep disappointment, which is understandable. Well, I was also surprised pleasantly when he shared some of his thoughts in particular and in general - he is indeed genuinely passionate about cricket.
So, I hope Mr. Sadiq, you will use your best writing skills to the right cause. Do not please sit on the fence/wall. One wiseman said, people get the leaders that they deserve, it does apply to not just USACA, CER but also to MCC - mind you.
All those fifties, centuries, weekend games, practice sessions (at present are as useless as rain on the stones at least for those who aspire to grow) will be meaningful if done with a purpose. Well, I do like to think that there are at least a few who like to play not just for fun!!! If they think, the current MCC management will be the boss oneday at USACA and will shower rains of opportunities on its league players...good luck!

Your chili-eaters look a pretty good side, actually - dismissed Samarth's latte-drinkers for only 130 today. Theyre probably better than the best CER team we can put up.. but thats fine, if we put up our best team and got beaten, Id be fine with it, you tip your cap and move on. What really burns is when you put up a team that nobody seems to consider the best available side.. but they all seem ok with that, for some reason.
Anyway. Very good performance by our CER outfit today - great to see. Theyve put up 184 against South-West.. and didnt give Franklyn Rose a single wicket (6-1-31-0)! Wonderful show, it would be *really* cool if we can win this one and send those LA-wallahs packing :-) A loss for them here will almost certainly put them out of the nationals, for maybe the first time - they will be under *huge* pressure chasing, hopefully the CER guys can use that.
This terrific performance today was built entirely on Saminda Siriwardena.. of whom some of us know absolutely nothing :-) He scored 105 out of 184 allout! Our Abhi made 17, Mohit got 18.. and nobody else got past 7! Rarely can there have been one batsman carrying the load like this - a quite wonderful effort, CER may have found its own Satha :-)
Saminda is apparently from Minnesota - but he doesnt really show up on the Minnesota website (at least he didnt appear prominentnly when I looked last week). And Minnesota didnt play in the CER tournament, so Ive never seen this guy play (maybe not everyone in CER management has either - because he wasnt even included in the XI for yesterday's game!) Does anyone know more about this guy? Any info appreciated :-)

This terrific performance today was built entirely on Saminda Siriwardena.. of whom some of us know absolutely nothing :
+++++++++
Saminda is very good batsmen good technique and smart cricketer overall . He is young like Abhijeet and played for Under 15 team.
Saminda played CER last year (maybe even 2006?). He also represented CE region in the Western Conference last year. He's a former US under-19 player. Had a poor game against SouthWest last year, but a respectable showing against NorthWest. Bowled OK (picked up a wicket with his off-spinners), and batted a long time with not much to show in terms of runs. Was dropped for the final game against CentralWest.
Latte-drinkers on top of the table right now BTW. Beat Chicago deep-dish pizza yesterday, and Texas chili today.
Tomorrow is a key game though. If latte-drinkers win tomorrow, they win the entire tournament. If they lose, it comes down to run-rate whether they make the Nationals or not.
Texas chili is most likely through to Nationals, since their opponent tomorrow is deep-dish pizza.

Yes, Texas chili is in a good position to win and get 8 points.. but latte-drinkers are already at 8 points too, and currently have significantly better NRR (2.29 to 0.97).
The job is toughest for Tarun's land-of-fruits-and-nuts bunch - not only do they have to swallow the lattes, they have to swallow them quickly ("I drink your milkshake!!! I drink it uppp!")... they have to recover from 0.09 NRR to overtake 2.29! Thats probably why they started hammer-and-tongs this morning, hitting 68/3 in the first 10 - gambling on a huge score if they could get it. Very unlikely to make it even if they drink it up - unless deep-dish knocks out chili, latte and chili are going to the nationals it looks like (I suppose a chilly-latte is appropriate).
Your old friend Sushil apparently just hit 5 sixes in one over off someone bowling for CER! They havent told us who yet (and the score still says 90/2 in 15 overs, while the headlines claims Sushil just got his personal century, so theyre lagging a bit on scoring).

Central West 2 1 0 0 8 2.6↑
North West 2 1 0 0 8 0.83↑
South West 2 1 0 0 8 0.72↑
Central East 0 3 0 0 0 4.73↓
rup give me a call when u have a moment @ the 312 number
about the second half of the season.. I am execting a push from these teams..
Chicago Giants - the rain out hurt them
QC Kings - since most teams dont know how to bowl them.
IIT - Dont see why now
If I have to pick two I will go with QC and IIT
Hmm Falling team.. well some like the DONALD already said ICC.. let me deal with other teams since i have never picked myself to fail.
Here are my picks to burn in the heat
Collinsville - nasty schedule left and if they lose2-3 home games on that crapy surface they are dead meat.
Arena - nasty schedule left and its possible that they could burn away in the heat
Jolly Rovers - same as above schedule can bite them HARD

As predicted yesterday, Central-West and North-West made the next round. This must be one of the first times ever that South-West (LA et al) actually didnt advance!
Central-West, the hosts, had cleverly used their home-organization advantage to schedule Central-East as their last match, so they could up their NRR :-) (you will notice that all home teams do it, to the one doormat of the competition). Even so, Sushil Nadkarni (former India U19, former India fc player, current US opener) went a little over the top.. 22 sixes?? He was dismissed for 223 in the 32nd over of the innings! 420 allout vs 126 allout, a margin of just under 300 runs, must surely be some kind of record. It pushed Sean's team to the top of the table, deservedly (except for a late 2nd game choke when they collapsed from about 90/4 and lost by 3 runs chasing 130, they were clearly the best team in the competition I think).
In the other match South-West needed to beat North-West by well over a hundred runs to catch them on NRR I think - which is why they started on the attack, hitting up 68/3 in the first 10. But they lost wickets and ended up getting only 190 (allout, in 39 overs!) In reply Franklyn Rose must have been really fired up - he ran thru the top order and got 5/33, but North-West managed 86 allout...which was just enough to scrape in on NRR. (0.83 to South-Wests 0.72)! If South-West had batted thru the innings it would probably have been enough.
So, in the end, the actual deciding factor in the competition turned out to be Saminda and the toss, I think. After all, NW made 329 against us, and bowled us out for 103.. a 226 run win. CW made 420 against us and bowled us out for 126.. a 294 run win. Poor SW lost the toss and had to bowl first.. and Saminda got 105 out of 184 allout! They rattled up 186/2 in 23 overs in reply... but that still left their NRR just a little too low in the end!

May that day come soon, inshallah.
It was a 4-team tournament with 2 teams advancing. Three teams ended up tied with 2 wins apiece, with only run-rate deciding between them, thats how hard fought and close the regionals are right now... and here we have one out of the 4 regions that doesnt seem to care, doesnt put up anywhere near its best team, and comes home having gone 0-3 (and having lost 2 of the 3 games by 226 and 294 runs respectively). I know Iam repeating myself.. but its just such an amazing state of affairs that it boggles the mind.
I hope the people in charge can start working towards righting the ship *right away*.. to make absolutely certain that this doesnt happen again next year. Communication between the leagues and CER has been an issue - but there is a full year to resolve it. Hopefully by next year MCC can play a full-strength team at the CER, Minnesota and Michigan can put up teams too, and CER can itself pick its best possible squad to go represent us at the regionals, so we can at least be competitive. Sushil is a great batsman, but its embarassing to have someone hit 223 in 32 overs on you, and 420 runs in 50...hopefully things can be resolved so our regional team (which reflects, nationally, the standard of cricket played by *all* of us) never has to suffer that sort of embarassment again.

Finger, Can we impeach the guys responsible for what's going on in CER right now.
There has got to, must be, should be, will be a way to do this..
Finger i say you look inot this and let us know..after all we impeached one of our greatest presidents over a BJ..i don't see why we can't get the guys??..
HHEEEEELLLLLLLPPPPPPPP?????????
Actually we did not set the schedule - that came from USACA.
The original one we had proposed had CW v CE on Day 1
There are many pictures of all the games, and scorecards on www.houstoncricket.org - click on gallery at the top for photos
After doing some research - which consisted of reading blog, MCC points table, schedule and most importantly calling Ms. Cleo on 1-900#. Here is my updated prophecy. Let's hear the drum roll please. Tabla or Congo will do.

19. Jolly Rovers
Playoff Contenders - Ranked from most to least likely - 3 of these teams will get there heart broken.
1. AAA
2. Eagles
3. Evanston
4. QC Kings
5. IIT
6. Jaguars
7. Madison
8. Illinois
9. Collinsville
10.Arena
11.Giants (*Update Below)
Chicago Giants Update: A 4 hour closed door meeting was held last week to sort thru the issues that resulted in some key players leaving the team. I am happy to announce to that team members have reached an agreement and every single Giant is back and will start the last 8 games. Don't want to sound arrogant but I will say this once ..... GIANTS WILL MAKE PLAYOFF.
Yes I know with 8 points in 6 games one must say you gotta be kidding me.
Disclaimer: These prophecies are for amusement purposes only. Teams or its members should not take it too seriously. Also I do not advocate beating me up on the cricket ground as that will not boost your chances to make playoffs. ;-)
Thanks,
Atif Shaikh
hey atif does that mean ur going back to the giants as well? and looking forward to the game this sunday if youre still wit AAA. It will be a cracker of a game. Guys this will surely be a good game. We are expecting a crowd of about a 100 or so people to show up.
Tonald Drump you are entertaining... Must say with your predictions..
Well We dont have to play the Giants so I am cool with that lol
But we do. So it is not cool that they have to take such dynamic decisions. :)
JK: Glad to have the original Giants back. Good luck to them.
So the giants are back and Mastakilla trying to get a party going..
All great news..
Tonald...
Thats funny..
Its like you did a Rasheed Wallace - GARANSHEED - GARANTSHAIKED???
Good luck to the Giants, and welcome back!!!
Mastakilla - Giants have reunited and all of us will be playing together. As I told Ebrahim of AAA that chances to win Championship with AAA was very high but sometimes its not about that Giants is not just a team, its a family to us and that is why we all are going back. Still Hate saying bye to my AAA boys, great bunch of people.
Challenor Jack - Thank you. Gotta keep things fun around here.
Preetam Nanga - 8/10/2008 is a date baby.
So when Giants dont make the playoff Donald what will you say? :):)
Well Jack in that case I will copy and paste your reasoning for missing playoff. lol
This weekend Madison-Collinsville are going to play at Washington Park .. If these teams had played the local Chicago teams instead of each other, it would had reduced the travelling games for Chicago teams ..
Good that Sridher n Ram have asked for team's opinions on how to come to a best scheduling policy ..
btw .. Tonald Trump .. bole to Atif bhai ... the website has been updated for our game (Titans-Giants) showing you as hosts now .. Want to confirm that you take note of the change else we both teams could be there without nails and flags ...

I believe scheduling is based on seeding/ranking (from previous year's performance). It cannot be based on convenience alone. We have to protect the quality of the playoffs.
Alpesh - Thanks for the heads up.
Agree Ram !! then Collinsville could had gone to Madison or vice versa .. Also this year .. since we have only 19 teams .. any team is playing all but 4 teams from Div 2 .. I don't think .. it could had made that big a difference if Madison-Collinsville match had not happened ..
Also I have learnt that away teams do not have to pay the full 2300$ fees (I could be wrong).. since they maintain the ground and even league helps with some of these maintenance costs .. Looking at these, away teams should be playing more travelling games than Chicago teams.
But I appreciate the efforts that you n Sridher have put into rectifying the Div 2 schedule ..
Looks like it is time for away teams to form their own league now?
Every team pays the same fee and how can one club ground maintenance costs with the travelling issue.
May be it is time for every team to own a ground that way this issue can be resolved easily. No offence.
Goodfriend ..
Travelling is a issue for Div 2 teams .. since it involves lot of $ .. and lot of time too .. I remember we had to spend about 600$ for our travelling game against Arena .. So if you play 5-6 travelling games .. which most of Chicago teams are doing ... you spend about 2000$ ... So that needs to be considered ... while scheduling games ..
Yep.. travelling will be an issue for MCC..
How much more and longer will the teams put up with it is the question MGt has to answer.
I know there was a lot of hard work put into making the schedule look even for all .. ICC is still baffled as to why we are hosting 8 out of 9 Chicago land games??

Are you that stupid? Run against tariq in election and get screwed next season. That is MCC mantra!
Alpesh,
Which away team paid less than $2300/-. Please let me know because we paid the full amount.
I would like the extra amount we paid back if that is the case. :)
Bloggers just wanted to calrify few things regarding away teams...I can only speak for our PCC team located in Peoria as I am budget handler for our team.
Here are the facts:
We pay full amount to the MWCC and MWCC inturn pay rent/maintainence ground fee to the owners of the grounds, just like they to do to Chicago park district for Washington parks. Grass cutting, pitch maintainence is usually taken care of the park district for that entire amount. Also, dont forget away team are hosts for all their home games...so that additional $1000 dollars for food for the season. Added to that we also travel atleast 3-4 games to Chicago, St. Louis, Milwaukee, Purdue just like CHicago teams. So, we incur same amount of travelling expenses also. Meaning, there is no difference if you were away team or Chicago based team. I would say away teams spend more if were say personally...Just a FYI...
Alpesh, i can understand that travelling is tough but there are teams who are willing to travel Chicago during regular season but where are the grounds?
Away teams should get more games to play in Washinghton park during regular season. We didn't get even 5 games till now in 3 years.
When MGMT can't give equal chance to play in Washinghton park during regular season then they shouldn't conduct all playoff games there too.
These sort of things should be ironed out before season starts but that never happens because it is winter. Hopefully it will improve next year.

------------------------------
So does that imply that the top teams in the league get easy schedule so that they can feature again in playoffs.
Can you explain that Ram. I am still trying to figure out what did you mean by maintaining the quality of playoffs.

Yes, it seems unfair...the "balancing" saga continues...will look into it.
Anybody out there, please respond to the email that was sent last night with your "hosting" concerns.

Guys,
"Scheduling" is a blackbox to sridher and myself.
We both worked on "rescheduling". During rescheduling we cannot change A vs B to A vs C to make it convenient for A, B and C or to balance "away" games.
A vs B is decided apparently based on ranking/seeding from previous years performance. Again, I don't know about "scheduling".
During rescheduling, we only changed the dates/location and complied with as many reasonable requests as possible.
Hopefully, with input from every team, we will be better prepared to address all concerns with respect to Div 2 scheduling next year.
Ajoy n Madhu -
Thanks for clearing my doubt .. I was told by few seniors in the league that away teams pay less .. hence had the idea ..
RUP Wronte: ICC is still baffled as to why we are hosting 8 out of 9 Chicago land games??
-------------------------------
Well I think its due to the fact that RUP you and ICC are a great host? cmon think of all the beer, food etc you guys bring. If I was Sridher damnit I would make you host for all 14 games.
Ajoy,
Quality of playoffs is a function of the following (I can't think of anything else):
1. Quality of a team AND
2. Quality of regular season matchups
By scheduling, we can ensure the second function based on previous years performance. This is what I meant by "protecting the quality of playoff matchups".
We cannot force an easy matchup just to make it convenient for few teams. Hope this offers the clarification you sought.
Are you that stupid? Run against tariq in election and get screwed next season. That is MCC mantra!

Champ..i am hoping that will not be a reason to screw ICC over..If it is then i am in deep trouble cause my Views on cricketing issues in MWCC is not going to change because of fear that I will get screwd for standing up??

TD,,,
thanks for the Kudos on hosting but i will like to show up and play instead of hammering away at nails..a few more time than just 1..
The food and drinks has been, is being, and will always be there once ICC is playing..no matter who is in charge..
'It's a tradition that must be kept..You get to the park,,have a cold one, quarell with the ump why he wants to take the toss cause you were 5 mis late, have another cold one, spin the toss, play the game in the fondest of atmosphere whilst having several B**R breaks and hope you win. Enjoy the food and share as much as we can with everyone and go home knowing that we can do this all over again the next game".

Hey,
Just got back from the Bahamas on Monday evening. Have been swamped with work since. Just managed to surface for a bit....
Hope all are well and looking forward to the second half of the season. Lots of predictions from TD... good to see. Finally someone making some bold statements, apart from our very own wise man - BH.
As to why we haven't uploaded our scorecard, well... we were really upset. We had a huge argument, and have broken up the team. We are no more in Division 1 or the MWCC.
Just kidding.... :)
There were some problems, and we have requested the help of management to sort them out. Plus, with me being gone most of last week until now, little progress was made, but we will get it up as soon as we can. So, please bear with us (Alpesh at least) and will get it update shortly.
