दूसरा हफ्ता

Well, week 1 was a bit of a damp squid (all puns intended). Only a handful of games took place, but already there was one upset, two titans stayed the course, and some good cricket all around. Will the weather Gods relent and finally allow some cricket to be played, or will Rup add to his cooler collection?

ps. I tried enabling this "hindi" translation feature for the heading. Interesting.... For those of you that don't read hindi, it means week 2.

I am not a big fan of scare tactics and threats either. I wonder if filing a complaint with the Ground Committe of the Park Districts which provides grounds to Midwest Cricket Conference will work.

Idea is to bring to there attention that they are providing grounds to a league that is using excessive power and pulling garbage laws to ban people who participates in other league games.

THIS MNGMNT HAS NERVE. THEY CAN COME TO ANY DECISION ANY TIME AND IT IS TOTALLY UNILATRELL. YOU CAPTAINS ARE PUPPETS (LIKE OTHER ON THE MNGMNT OF TA)

TA IS TAKING FULL ADVANTAGE OF HIS TERM TO TAKE CARE OF ALL THAT DID NOT SUPPORT HIM:

FIRST ACTION AGAINST FARAT AND MUSLIM GYMKHNA FOR SUPPORTING JAGGI AND HIS CAMPAIGN

THEN MILWAUKEE UNITED (BOTH HAD CONTROVERSY WITH TA's BLUE EYED TEAM PAK GYMKHANA LAST YEAR)

NOW ADNAN AND UNITED

IT IS PHOENIX, RP, ILLINOIS AND SOME OTHERS THAT STAND WITH JAGGI's TEAM IN THE ELECTIONS

TEAMS THAT YOU HAVE ELECTION TA AGAIN, YOU WILL BE BIT BY YOUR OWN DOG PRETTY SOON.

PAK GYMKHANA GUYS WERE LET OFF WITHOUT ANY CONSESNUS.

YOU CAN BRING A GUEST PLAYER AND HAVE SOME PEOPLE BEAT UP THE OTHER TEAM OR JUST BE PREPARED FOR A SUSPENSION OF ONLY 4 GAMES, UNLESS YOU FIGHT WITH A DRUNK REPRESNTATIVE OF MNGMNT.

I PROPOSE ALL TEAM TO SUPPORT JAGGI FOR HIS CONTINUED CHECK OF THIS THIEF MANAGEMENT. WE HAVE NOT RECIEVED THE AUDITED FINANCIALS STILL, AND POSSIBLY WE NEVER GET IT.

THIS MNGMMNT CAN BE BROUGHT DWON STILL IF TEAMS STILL SUPPORT JAGGI AND GET 2/3RD TEAMS TO RECALL FOR ELECTION.

IF YOU WNAT BETTER CRICKET AND ACCOUNTABLE AND EFFECIENT MANGMNT YOU STILL HAVE CHANCE

DONT JUST COME LIKE SHEEPS TO PLAY YOUR GAME SUNDAY AND GO BACK. FIGHT FOR THE RIGHT THING, OR BEFORE LONG YOU WILL BE ON THE RECIEVING END OF THIS SOON.

ADNAN GOOD JOB ON WARNING THESE THIEFS. THEY HAVE NO CONTRACTS WITH ANY OF US. THEY HAVE NO RIGHT TO TELL US WHAT TO DO OUTSIDE OF MIDWEST. THEY WILL SOON TELL US WHERE TO SHIT AND WHERE TO PIS. THIS MNGMNT IS DESTROYING CRICKET HERE NOT BUILDING IT. WE SHOULD ALL CALL AND INFORM USACA OF:

NO CONSTITUTION
NO RULES
NO LAWS
NO BETTERMENT

WE HAVE NOT IMPROVED ONE THING SINCE 1998. WE HAVE SAME THINGS TODAY THAT WERE THERE THEN. WHAT HAVE WE ACCOMPLISHED SINCE THEN:

LOST TEAMS
CREATED A RIVAL LEAGUE
SAME OLD, UN-EFFECIENT WEBSITE
ALIENATED USACA AND REGIONAL
DESTROYED FUTURE OF GOOD CRICKETERS
INCREASED FEES
REDUCED GAMES
FOUGHT LAWSUITS
LOST GROUNDS
NO INTERNAL/EXTERNAL TOURNAMENTS
INCREASED TRAVEL FOR ALL
NO ACCOUNTABILITY OF FUNDS
DELAYED AND ERRONOUS SCHEDULES
WORSE CRICKET BALLS
LOW UMPIRING STANDARDS
FIXED GAMES
PLAYERS FIGHTING EACH OTHER
PLAYERS FIGHTING UMPIRES
ALCOHOLIC MNGMNT
JUNOON CONCERTS COSTING LEAGUE 20K
BELOW PAR PRACTICE NETS
BAD GROUND CONDITIONS

WHILE ALL THIS IS GOING ON MNGMNT IS BUSY TELLING PEOPLE WHERE TO PLAY, WHERE NOT TO GO, WHAT NOT TO DO. NOT THE RIGHT PRIORITIES.

Adnan,
First of all - Hats off to you man!!
It is extremely heartful of you to take the initiative on CER.
I extend my whole hearted support for this venture.
I'd say please go ahead and send your team, we will deal with the consequences later.
Please let me know if I can be of any help.
Way to go!

I don't see how filing a complaint to Ground Committee of Park district will us any good. They are either going to stay out of it by saying its none of their business, or they'll stop giving us grounds. In the first scenario, management wins. In the second scenario, everyone loses.

Adnan should send his team to the regionals as promised. If management decide to act like jerks and suspend his players, then he has every right to take them to court.

Jaggi said...

It is ridiculous to make any kinds of threat to the players who are participating. The management can in no way ban any players who have participated in the regionals.

AstroTurf - Can any one suggest any dealer or vendor who sells astroturf, how much does it cost.

Does anyone have any specifications about astroturf.

Can we buy Astroturf found in american stores like homedepot.

Is there a difference between australian astro verus the one we find online.

We are trying to intall astro on our ground, unfortunately we have no idea about the astroturf what ever we find online we are not sure if it fits for Cricket.

Any information pertaining to this will be very helpful.

Thanks and appreciate your help.

I agree with Jaggi on that. I'm sure we all do. I'm wondering though, from a legal standpoint, does a non-profit organization have the right to penalize its members from participating in other competitive leagues? I'd be surprised if they do. But then again, the justice system is pretty screwed up, and everything ain't black-or-white.

Email that was sent to the management copying all the teams. A big thumbs down to the way they have managed the regionals.

"The MCC management had indicated to CER that we would participate in the tournament but it is yet to receive an official notification on the format and rules of the tournament. With the limited time available the management is trying to field the best team possible based on the previous statistics, youth/potential and availability."

I would like to know more about the limited time you guys are talking about. There are a bunch of us that have been screaming regionals from a long time and you chose to give us a deaf ear. You guys decide to wake up one day before the regionals and come up "limited time " as the excuse.

"Registered Midwest Cricket Conference players are advised not to represent/play for any other team or league. Doing so would result in suspension from the MCC league."

I strongly object to the statement above. First, you do nothing about the regionals and next you are trying to threaten people that are passionate to play cricket? I will stand with the players who do chose to go. In the interest of the betterment of this league, I hope that the management does not go down this path.

"The management would put together a selection committee soon to look in to team selection for future tournaments. The management plans to formalize the selection process which will include trials in addition to past performance, emphasis on youth and availability."

Why was no selection committee put up when we all knew for the dates of the regionals a couple of weeks ago? Even one day before the regionals, we as members, have no clue who is representing our league. How much more mis-managed can this league get? The VP's of the division are calling players today(one day before the regionals) for availability.

I dont expect any answers from you guys. I will continue my fight to ensure that we do the right thing for cricket. As a league that is representing 600+ members, the management has to ensure that it gives exposure to as many people as possible. It is unfortunate that the management has chosen to go down this path, thereby continuing to rob the members of a much needed exposure at the regional and subsequently national level.

A big thumbs down to the management !!

I decided not to blog anymore, although this is a time when we need to stand firm against the Management. We should form a Players Support Group Guys; I know we have enough teams here to challenge the Management on some of their decisions. We have stakeholders and representatives from Rogers Park, Phoenix, Illinois, United, Chargers, Peoria, Titans, Chicago, Hammond, Advancers, Muslim Gymkhana, Purdue, and Royals. That is 13 teams’ folks. We need to create a players’ union that fights for the players cause and has stake in the decision making process. This will keep the Management in Check and create a Balance moving forward. It will only improve the quality of cricket here. All organization have Players Unions, we should as well. Please let me know who is interested, and we will get signatures from Team Captains to present to the Executive Body for Review and Acceptance. Let's have a dialogue. Lack of dialogue splits things, and if this Management does not do anything about that, we all will suffer. We cannot blame Adnan and Akbar to bring on litigation if the Management is not responding. They don't exercise due diligence and practice effectively, and then we have to pay; Dollars, and Time, to fight these things on their behalf's, and everyone ends up blaming Adnan for our situation. Not Fair. Adnan, please consider me in your support and let me know if there is anything I can do to help your Just Cause!!

I question this about all of us & MWCC.

1. Why do we still play for MWCC? when we clearly see that this is a poorly run league where players/members are continuosly bulleyed by management.

2. Why do we pay good money to a league that misuses our funds or flat out wastes it.

3. Why haven't we moved over to the other league or joined hands with them to build a better league that will rival MWCC.

4. Will 10-15 teams decide to move out of MWCC and go elsewhere and will that hit pocket books for TA? Also will that serve as a statement that its all about people and without people there is no league?

5. Is it possible that MWCC gets subsidized or gets $$$ from other sources - Govt Programs, Minority Sports Subsidiaries, Donations etc and they have never disclosed it to us?

MWCC won the 2008 CER tournament. Final was played against IMCL. MWCC batted first and scored 263 in 50 overs. IMCL all out for 65. MoM Mohammed Yousuf with a 5 wkt haul and 22 runs.
MWCC clearly cut above the rest.
Congratulations to Shahid (C) and the team.

AAA C.C. defeated Illinois C.C

AAA batted first and scored 225 in some 37 odd overs all out and Illinois batted second and was all out in 53 runs in 15 overs. Sadik lead the way for AAA with 86* and the other players chipped in to get the total. Bilal took 6 wickets and Adam with 3 and Ibrahim with 1. Great win for AAA as they go 2-0 on the season.
