Season 2008 - just a month away

Guys ..

Hope you all are out of hibernation and have started practising for the 2008 Season with your teams. We already had a strongly contested elections this year and hope to see many similar cricket matches on the cricket field this season.

So as usual, we will see new teams joining the league, players moving around, may be new grounds and many other changes hopefully. Again time for predictions for the Div 1, Div 2, Div 3 winners ..

Let us start predicting on Division winners right away .. and see who is right at the end of the season .. Also post in about any updates about your teams or new teams if you have ..

And most important question, will we see Tango and Neanderthal_walking jugal-bandi on the blog this year ??

Oops where did all the comments go ?? Jaggi/Adi ... any idea ... Or was it something with blogger site ..??

Shekhs said...

Appu, I think you used the wrong blogging site to launch this thread initially..

I think it got kicked back to the original blog site..hence we have our old comments in the other blog site..

I dont think we lost them, just have to copy and paste..

Aditya said...

I prefer this site to that one. It's much easier to read the comments and reply.

Adnan, could you please post the
T20 tourney details again?

Thanks for keeping us informed of this kinda stuff.

Shekhs said...

yo Adi..what up?

you ready for the season?
:-)

Aditya said...

I guess so Sheks. Ready or not, I'm looking forward to it. 6 months is a long off-season! So, what's your take on the election? Pretty close huh!

Alpesh said...

Shekhs Sir ... you need to give respect to Aditya now .. since he is Phoenix captain this season .. :)

Elections were mighty close this time ... This was the first time I attended the elections .. I really feel the need of having a independent elction commission, who will decide when to held the elections and what the process would be ...

Shekhs said...

Hell yeah..it was mighty close..

My take - The league (lot of teams) doesn't want to change!
Even if we had won the elections by coupla votes, I'd feel like people are very content at how things are going now.
I'm bewildered at us losing, let alone losing by 2.

Its unfortunate that we lost, but there are only certain things you can do.
Kudos to Jaggi and Shiraz for a strong campaign..and thanks to all who supported us.

I wasn't present for the elections, so cannot comment on the proceedings.

From the looks of it, it was fair and square.

Yeah, I'm ready for the season..would love to play some cricket.

DeepDownWithin said...

election was fair and square???? talk to your team before making such statements

Aditya said...

Vetti, why do you say that?

Shekhs said...

yeah Vetti, why do you say that?

well it wasn't a statement..was an assumption made from messages thru the grapewine...

DeepDownWithin said...

jaggi/shiraz can u answer that???? if i say anything u will say that it is my assumpton better they answer directly

DeepDownWithin said...

and......who is in the grapewine???

Shekhs said...

Shiraz, Jaggi, my teammates etc...

they are ones who updated me with the election details...

Tonald Drump said...

Yup - Like this blog site much better than what I saw few days back.

Tonald Drump said...

Any idea if MCC will sponsor this blog link from the mcc website? or is the cold war is still lingering. Hoping thing will be back to normal since election is over.

yep, they did vote for the incumbent..
like I said there are only certain things you can do...hey I stood for the right thing...we lost...

it was a good run...
I hate to play blame games...so, I like to say - we lost fair and square..

But I'm proud to stand up for CHANGe...and what I felt like..

you know that better...Adnan..

Ramsundar Lakshminarayanan said...

My comments are not to be construed as a personal insult and is also not directed towards flattery.

I think the election results reminds us of the famous saying, "A known devil is better than an unknown angel". IMHO, this is the single biggest factor Jaggi had to counter, which I had mentioned to him earlier as well.

Adnan won 10 votes, Jaggi won 20 votes. Change takes time and we have to be patient. I think Jaggi and his team did a stellar job to capture 20 votes and am sure this is not lost on the current management.

Shekhs said...

I dont think you can say that any better than that Ram... :-)

Hey how are ya?

I'm sure you're hands are itching as bad as it gets..to grab a bat..

good luck with the season!

Ramsundar Lakshminarayanan said...

machi Shekhs doing good...yes, hands are itching for several reasons...grabbing a bat is one of them :)

Tonald Drump said...

Ok without looking and counting lets guess how many letter A' in Ram's name.

How many Letter A's?

My guess 6

Tonald Drump said...

and that will be for Ram.... Lakshmi....

Alpesh said...

Oops I cheated .. so won't answer
:)

btw .. a thought came to my mind yesterday ... since we have abt 52 teams in MCC .. should not be one declared winner in elections .. only if they get more than 26 votes .. or so .. till then keep on voting .. :)

Just a thought !!

Jaggi said...

Just thought I would jump in and clear some of the things. Dont want any more rumors going around.

Shekhs and I have been in touch about the election results. We have not had a chance to sit down and talk in detail, but, we have been on the same boat for a long time.

Yes, the election results reflects accurately what the greater majority want in this league. The only issue I had was allowing proxies, which is a big NO in our constitution.
If this was told to me earlier, I would have had a few teams(that didnt show up) call in or email their vote. It is extremely unfair to the away teams that showed up.

But again, there was a vote and the greater majority thought it was ok to allow Proxy votes 5 minutes before the elections.

Yes, my team and I could not convince Challengers and a few others to vote for us. I have spoken to a few teams that did not vote for me(not the Challengers) and gotten feedback.

The entire election process has been a very good learning experience for me. I have made some really good friends. Unfortunately, it has also exposed some of the darker side of some people that I had a lot of respect. But such is the nature of this beast.

DeepDownWithin said...

ram.. how r u muchi..eagles vote for jaggi????

Unknown said...

But again, there was a vote and the greater majority thought it was ok to allow Proxy votes 5 minutes before the elections.
============================
Constitution has no meaning in this league. Sad to see the office bearers raping this sacred document for their own personal interest. There were quite a few things that came to my attention about how this election was won. For example Madison was promised a new matting if they voted for the incumbent. Anyone care to guess what Pak Gym is getting for voting their buddy?

DeepDownWithin said...

Madison?????? got sold to the devil????? murari yenna muchi..... who else is on the list adnan???? hope those guys from pak gym are not pardoned. in my opinion they got very little punishment, rashid and shahid has hit people in the past and should have been ban for one year from this league. sheks, y challengers did not vote for u??? they dont trust u????

Ramsundar Lakshminarayanan said...

VP, soukiam machi...how about a deal, potentially the first deal of the season...you tell me who you are and I'll tell who we voted for :)

All I can tell you is our team on the ground( I wasn't present), on election day, was very impressed with Jaggi based on debate/Q&A session.

DeepDownWithin said...

ram... nalla try muchi.. :)))) will say hi to you on field. adnan plz give more inside news

Shekhs said...

Vetti,
I wish I can answer that...why they voted for the incumbent....

Some things are better left unanswered..I'll leave it at that.

Do they trust me, of course they do...and am still playing with Challengers this year.

Yeah Vetti, I'll like to know who you are as well..
its very apparent that you aint Ajit.. :-)

DeepDownWithin said...

challengers....nobody can predict them. that is good for playin cricket and that is how they are in real life..i am not ajit??? i am not sure myself.. may be challengers can asnwer that one:))))) may be romeen can answer if i am ajit or someone else... i am waiting for adnan's inside info.

What beautiful day it is today!! And developments in r league r not....

Big Hitter said...

Madison/Murari, tsk tsk! Sold vote 4 new mat. Probably would have got anyway, got 2 pay lower fees, and better league... but instead settled 4 just mat!! How cheap??

Big Hitter said...

Challs, what could make u vote for this Mgmt? Free fees? Easy schedule? Less Travel? No hosting? Crap balls? And on other side... team-mate. Interesting set of loyalties... wondering what will go thru Sheky's mind when batting 2 win u game and u didn't vote for him. Don't believe in his mgmt skills?

And Shekhs, how u play with clear conscience with team that does not support u?

Big Hitter said...

Pak gym, why ppl pick on them until something proved? We know they luv current mgmt. Don't expect them 2 support Shiraz. Fair enuff. They have freedum 2 chuz. At least they r open with their choice. Others claim 2 support 1 and vote for other. that is worse. 4 those teams, i got present 4 u 2 collect. brand new on the market 4 such ppl - BAKBONE.

Big Hitter said...

ps. Am not PG player, just question everyone dumping on them. Do not start silly fights bcoz of misteaken identity.

Big Hitter said...

Eagles not vote 4 Jaggi either. Interesting point. Sridher VP of Div 2 and VP of Ump 4 current mgmt and just VP of ump 4 Jaggi's team. Guess who he votes 4?

Same thing with Krishna from Tigers. VP Div 1 and VP Children for mgmt, but just VP of Children for Jaggi. We all know who he voted 4. Same Krishna plays for another league - Naperville. Lead by example???

Jaggi, how your back? Have u got all those knives out yet? u mayb 2 nice 2 say this, but i am not.

Big Hitter said...

That will stir the pot.... will check back later 4 ur responses.

lets keep it +ve... but honest. hehehehe.

Shekhs said...

Yo big hitter..
Those were some big hits..

anyways..I'm a challenger and I represent them still..so please refrain from ridiculous allegations. I'm gonna stand up for my team anyday.
The elections are over and we are beyond that now....move on please..

As far my conscience goes...I'll deal with it..dont have to answer anybody on that..

you take it easy..and keep up the big hits..

Alpesh said...

Yep Shekhs Sir .. agree with you .. those were certainly big hits by the big hitter .. It is making the blog interesting .. :)

Would love to see Tango n NW back ... and read their comments ...

Ramsundar Lakshminarayanan said...

Those were really big hits!
Its apparent you were hurt by the losses. Do not make assumptions based on "positional influence" theory of yours. You can be very well wrong, because positions don't mean a thing to several people who want to contribute.

Big Hitter said...

Shekhs,

u don't have 2 answer 2 me, or anyone else. That is between u and ur team. I just curious bcoz if it me i wud have trouble.

I have not made allegations against ur team. just curious why they "switched". Dfensive aren't u?

Challs w/ Afroze - strong team bcame stronger!

Big Hitter said...

Ram, we get leaders we dserve. Last year blog bashed mgmt. Every1 said they wanted change and they wanted Jaggi. And here we r now....???? While u give my theorys nice name they r still true. i know eagles did not vote jaggi. at least challs are open about this - now! why do u still hide ur team vote? mgmt will rward u for "loyalty".

Big Hitter said...

1 more thing, wanting 2 contribute is 1 thing. but playing both sides for best peace of pie is another. there are so many ways 2 look at this. enuff said.

Ramsundar Lakshminarayanan said...

I very well understand your frustrations, bcuz your thoughts are based on whims, fancies and results.

Jaggi thinks we didn't vote for him and I am not sure why he didn't trust us in the first place.

Please don't make a fool of yourselves by making baseless allegations. Because you "don't know".

Your thoughts reflect on the entire team that stood against the incumbent's. I don't think this is fair.

Shekhs said...

Big Hitta...
I have to get defensive when it comes to my team and me...wont you be..?
So, like I said, I'll stand up for the team..and will be defensive..

yeah, I think we got a bit solid in the middle order with Afroze....too early to say anything about the team...will have to wait and see how the season goes..

Jaggi said...

Ram said: "Jaggi thinks we didn't vote for him and I am not sure why he didn't trust us in the first place."

Ram, what makes you say that? I never said anything about the Eagles, did I?

I sent out emails to some of the teams that did not vote for me to find out where my campaign fell short. That email was never sent to Eagles.

Ramsundar Lakshminarayanan said...

thanks for the clarification, Jaggi. I am assuming that big hitter was part of your ticket. Hence the link to you.

Big Hitter said...

now now ramu. that not nice. i have nothing 2 do with jaggi and tix, but i did support him bcoz i wanted change. look who making assumptions!! i believe u owe him apology, not "thanks for the clarification".

i don't know what jaggi thought of eagles, but i know how 2 count votes and who voted 4 who. and does not add up 2 eagles 4 jaggi.

chalo, we all know what happened. enuff said. u can defend the devil, or the devil's pooch, but all still guilty. reminds me of song - "karma karma chameeloen ...." - you can change colors depending on which mgmt u stand with, but ur karma coming back 2 haunt u.

why u so afraid of the light ramu? don't play "u don't know" games. just be honest and say, yes, we voted for jaggi, or no, we did not. but we all know truth now, so let it go. i will 2.

i don't know why what i think or say looks bad on jaggi and team. don't drag him in2 this. i said b4 i am not PG and i am not from jaggi's team.

have 2 say, i saw the elections this year and was disappointed with the ppl in r league. i have no problems which side u pick and stand by. and we agree 2 disagree. but this double sided stab in the back game... i do not appreciate. lose respect 4 such ppl.

after all this is volunteer league. not icc.

Alpesh said...

I agree with you Big Hitter .. What is the point talking all the season abt the need for a change when we do not stand for it in the elections ? But again, how many team representatives used to blog here :)

One more interesting thought --- in every election, the present management starts their vote counts with negative 5( -5). This way no management can take their ruling period lightly. For they know they need to some good work to win the next time.

Shekhs said...

Elections are over guys...done ..buried..
our team lost...thats the bottom line....end of the story..

There is no point talking about it..just gonna hurt more and coz more unpleasantness...

Lets talk about the brand new season and what we all can do to make this a btter league..we dont have to be in the management to do that..
we can all help out..regardless of the results..

Every stablishment needs a change...at some point of time..
unless a new team comes, we will never know the potential...
that said..lets just rest this case..
talk about new teams..new faces..

whats in store for the champs..are they gonna defend their championship?

Okie Shekhs Sir ..

How abt introducing power-plays this season? Now since they are a permanent fixture in ODIs.

For 45 overs - first 8 overs - mandatory restrictions
then 2 powerplays of 5 over each

For 40 overs - first 8 overs - mandatory restrictions
then 2 powerplays of 4 over each

For 30 overs - first 6 overs - mandatory restrictions
then 2 powerplays of 3 over each

Shekhs said...

Appu,
I believe we are planning to cut down on Div 1 overs from 45 to 40.

i agree with sheks, i would love to have a bloggers game this year. also another thing that we should implement that we have been talking about for the past couple of years is an all star game where we pit the top 12 players from each division I and II and play a 50 over a game during fourth of july weekend. Is there anyway to get this idea to the mgmt?

Shekhs,

Thanks for the update. I'll keep that in mind. Not sure how and why it changed like that since I did see this version at one point.

I just want to add for all the rest of you IPL supporters - my Kolkata Knight Riders are coming to give y'all an ass kickin'!! Did you see Mccullum's assault? Somebody's gonna get a hurt....

Yes, I am from Kolkata and am partially Bengali. Thus they are my team, not just because they won!

Aditya said...

ps. Wonder what a "Knight Rider" mascott looks like????

Jaggi said...

I watched the game and omg !! What was Bangalore thinking? Wasim Jaffer, Dravid, Kumble, etc for 20/20? I was very skeptical of Joshi, but, I must say he bowled and fielded well. Again, dravid missed a trick by not completing his quota. Charu sharma, should be fired !!

Mccullum was brilliant.. he was lucky initially, but once he was set, there was no stopping him. There was one shot that he hit over the head of the keeper that was at its innovative best.

Calcutta will do well. Andhra is loaded. Lets see how it goes tomorrow.

Jaggi,
I think Banglore just threw it away, winning the toss in 20/20 & selecting to field? come on...

why didn't they open with Boucher? (not it would have matter the most)..but still it would have put some pressure...

BTW...It's about time Agarkar clicks :)

Alpesh said...

So what were the results of the practice matches over the weekend ?? Any great performances ??

Sadiq Sir, you should write something now ..

Also guys .. what do you think abt Div 2 ?? With only 20 teams this season, this could be a very comptetitive season ...

Unknown said...

guys should we have a different blog for IPL? what ya say?

Jaggi said...

In the past, we have tried to break down the blog comments by the relevance with very limited success. My suggestion would be to leave it as is. If we hit 150 comments, we start a different thread.

Phoenix was supposed to play Advancers on Sat, but that got rained out. We have two games this weekend.

It is good that div-2 has consolidated to 20 teams. In my opinion, we should be real prudent about whom we allow to join. There have been times when people have created a team that has fallen apart mid-season.

Aditya said...

hey, which samir is this? please clarify!

As for me, I been smoking a nice, good old fashioned, cigar - you know, the fresh kind from a certain neighbour south of the US who I will not mention for known reasons. The good stuff.....

And I have a few of those that I plan to smoke over the summer... feel free to join me!

Ok, at this point, lets hope we get the schedule at least 1 week before the season begins. :(

It would be nice if we could know so that if we have a travel game, we can make the necessary arrangements.

Managing the league is a 2-way street. Not only should there be deadlines for teams to comply with the rules of the league, but some deadlines should be imposed on the management team as well.

Guys, I have shifted from Chicago but I just came online today because of two news items that have reached me on the same day!

Today, the USACA front page and CricInfo USA's front page prominently features our own Abhijit Joshi, who has hit 50 for USA against West Indies in the Under-15 tournament. He used to play for UnitedCC and now plays for EaglesCC in our league. What a proud day for our league! You can check out www.usaca.org and http://usa.cricinfo.com/db/NATIONAL/ICC_MEMBERS/USA/. I have also taken screen captures of both, in case they change the headlines tomorrow. :-)

On the very same day, I have received news of passing away of one of Abhi's good friends and team-mates Osama. What an irony.

When I first moved to Chicago in 2005 winter, I was invited to play indoor tennis-ball cricket by UnitedCC. Two of the players I met the same evening, among others, were Abhi and Osama. Both joined us regularly for tennis-ball cricket throughout the winter, and also in the temple league (NCL) in 2006 summer. Today, on the same day, one of them has made international headlines, another has passed away! It is days like this that make one believe in destiny.

Sundries said...

I am sorry to hear about Osama, what happened? I played with him last year on the taped tennis ball tournament organized by Shiraz. Its really unfortunate.

Eagles played a practice game against Temple league team two years ago in Naperville and Osama was in the team. If I am correct, it was Osama who broke my helmet with a bouncer.

Its tragic to hear the loss. Yes, Samarth, there's something called destiny.

Saw Abhi's picture on cricinfo. Great news. Also, he attended NCA in Bangalore last year. He is playing for United this year.

who_what said...

woo hoo! bat up! seasons first century!!!

Unknown said...

Oops. Major blunder by me. The Osama whom I played with, and who was Abhi's friend, was Osama Sufi. Not the same one as the guy who passed away. Both used to play for Warriors, hence the confusion. Still, my condolences to the family of the guy who passed away.

Let's hope I got the right Abhijit Joshi at least. :-)

Ouch. I agree with you to an extent. But you can't blame Sunil. He is just "communicating" the Management team's decision. I agree however, that management should not give us such excuses as they do not reflect positively on them. We played a practice game, and there was no "danger" on the ground, etc. But Sunil is doing a good job of at least communicating and keeping people in the loop. He is also pretty responsive to my emails at least, so a little credit to him should be given. The "blame" for this change may lie elsewhere....

Sundries said...

Advancers played a practice game on Sunday. The weather was bad but the ground seemed to be in good condition with none of the animal droppings and grass seemed to have been cut recently. Of course it had soccer field markings but nothing "unsafe".

Not sure what the management deemed as unsafe to push the start by one more week.

--Narasimha

DeepDownWithin said...

Aditya, I understand that he is only the communicator. But someone should tell him to communicate straight and not BS with poems, quotes, silly jokes etc. The reasoning is ridiculous and he expects us to believe the shit he has written? They are not ready and it is very apparent. I wonder what kind of crap they will come up with for not auditing our finances.

DeepDownWithin said...

narasimha, this management has been feeding shit about doing this and the other and the ridiculous thing is that most have been eating this up. Tariq has personal things to take care of(I am sorry about his loss). Kiran has gone back to hibernation (funny and ridiculous that he came back only for voting), the rest dont have the authority to do anything. I can bet you that the schedule is not even close to being done. In the meanwhile, we have to be content with sunil's poetic garbage.

DeepDownWithin said...

"we all are like MCC famly...go MCC!!!!"
Not me brotha, this aint family or any shit like that.

deepmidwicket,
Come on man!! I'm just trying to cheer up!! Just think whatever happens, happens for good!! )

BTW, only two possibilities (for scheduling not being posted)....either it's not ready or make it more exciting wondering all of us :)

Asmar said...

How about that "MANDATORY" umpiring session!!!

Aditya said...

What do you mean Asmar? What was the "session" like? Did enough people show up? I was wondering, what if noone showed up. ie: a boycott! Then each team would start with -ve 4 points, and we could enjoy the season!! just a thought.

Big Hitter said...

deepmidwicket u r right. we not need so much bs. we get enuff from mgmt anyway. samir what kind of comment those u said? what happens is 4 good? exciting 4 us? maybe sunil should resign and give u his job. i think u just give more bs than he did. didn't know that was possible!! ??

Asmar said...

Asmar said...

aditya,

Lets just say the 50 odd teams that are in our league were not represented at the session, not even close! So the "MANDATORY" notice that is up on the website claiming it would dock points for teams not present seems unlikely. Which is sad because I wasted a perfectly good Sunday learning about ICC rules that sometimes don't even apply in our league.

Big Hitter said...

i have thought 4 day:

so much bs from mgmt comunicater makes mgmt stink even more!!

Samir it was me that talked about how they could predict weather and not big hitter. This weekend we are expecting rain, so does that mean that the AGM will move again and the start of the season? They clearly were not ready with cricket balls and schedule. Lying f....s
Again, why cant these folks who promise that things will be different this time, MAKE IT HAPPEN.
Partial schedule, why not the full one? We should pay partial fees. And speaking of fees, I want to know why these F...s want 2300 when there is no lawsuit?

Hi,

Hoping that one you can help me. I have a urgent need to contact few key players for recruitment purposes.

Does anybody here has contact information for these guys?

Vajid Shethwala - Played for Chicago Giant in 07.

Thank you for sharing. I will gladly strke him off my list. My email address is ajitandradha@live.com if anyone here is interested and looking for a team.

Alpesh said...

Which team do you play for Ajit ??

Big Hitter said...

samir i never said that. it is clear ur head is up .................. :)

deepmidwicket for prez. i like way he thinks. everytime mgmt misses deadline we should charge them a fine.

if only agm was held indoors so rain not affect it. oh but it is. seems like mgmt wants 2 reschedule every rained out weekend / game. if only had done this last year 2. at least this year we have silly rhymes like "rain rain go away mcc crickets want 2 play" 2 keep us entatained!! this just dumb leading dumber. we dumber 4 voting them back in2 office.

finally Mumbai wins...Chennai is also doing well

Ajit,
I know Subbu & GG will be playing for Eagles this year...I do have Subbu's email...will send it.

Alpesh said...

Samir ..

It should be other way round ..

Chennai is doing great from beginning .. Mumbai just managed to do well today ..

Unknown said...

Alpesh..

agreed...it will be intersting to see how Chennai will do once Hayden is gone

What's Mr Nair upto? :)

Alpesh said...

I am still postive abt Chennai .. After Hayden, Hussey n Oram are gone .. they still have Raina, Badrinath, Fleming n Dhoni .. which is a very good batting ... plus they have Ntini, Morkel, Murli in their bowling ranks .. Gony, Joginder also are doing very well rite now ..

Mr Nair is waiting for the season to start ... got a good schedule so far .. AAA, Evanston, Hammond

Unknown said...

Alpesh,
Watch out for Rajasthan Royals!! They've great potential and have been underestimated!! They're my favouraties.

Aditya said...

Mr. Champaneri,

I see you are back on the blog. Welcome. How are the Royals doing? Looking forward to the season with your new team? What does your schedule look like? You still keeping? How's the knee? Planning to open this year?

Appu you guyd ready for AAA? i heard they got better over the offseason. They added 2 new bowlers as well as well as a good batsman.

do'n aiite Masta,
Just itch'n to start.
From da way things look and as mgt claim for reson to not start early looks like we may not start for a while.
10 day forcast says rain the 3 days preceding Sat May 10th.
I hope the deduct the points as claim for umpire training..Oh, is this consider a promise??

Rup said...

Yep
ICC vs Giants To start off.
We can't wait to put a lick'n. Still hold a grudge for last year butt whoop'n they gave us.

Big Hitter said...

icc in 4 a tuff season this year. heard u lost couple good players. plus i thinks giants will have good season. they probably top dog this year with iit.

lets see what happens with -ve points for missing umping session. true test of mgmt. don't expect it 2 b en4sed. mgmt is like teams that voted 4 it. self interest only. maybe mgmt should give +ve points to teams that attended. lets see who smart enuff 2 figure out what the diff is!

Samir Sir ..

The IPL being too long - almost abt the same period is going to reach the saturation point ... after 1-2 weeks ... I found ICL tri-series more interesting ... as it got over in less than a week ...

Rup said...

Samir, doing just fine hope to see you soon in white at the park.

Correct alpesh..
I enjoyed the ICL but am about to run out of 20/20 excitement.
too long..50 something games before this ends.
More excited about our upcoming season.
I cancelled Satellite service cause the money has taken the game over and the fun is going out. So i will be checking #s only.

Unknown said...

Rup,Alpesh,
Yeah...good points...it is a bit long....to me, the real cricket is a test match, this IPL/ICL overall is a big hype nothing else..

Yea Rup, I think it's more exciting to foucs on our MCC season now..can't wait :)

Big Hitter said...

tonald that is posibility. i think may know each other. i am part of this league in chicago called midwest cricket conference. have u ever heard of it? we may have met there. ;-)

Big Hitter said...

samir do u think royals will do well this year? i see the roster is huge and addition of some new players such as u. who will make div 1 playoffs?

Big Hitter said...

for div 2, i think following look like playoff teams.

1 AAA
2 Arena
3 Chicago Giants
4 Evanston
5 IIT
6 Jaguars
7 Madison
8 QC
9 Titans
10 ICC
11 Jolly Rovers
12 CCC

Shekhs said...

Fellas..
Big Hitter aint Tango...
Tango aint a big hitter on the first place...he consolidates his innings thru singles and doubles with occasional fours..

besides Tango plays in Div 1, Big Hitta - Div 2..at least thats what I think..

welcome back Rup..

Unknown said...

BH,
That's a million $question. Yes, the roster looks huge, but not sure if I've met every one yet :)

I'm not sure about the playoffs, it's too early to say anything. During our team meeting, we hardly talked about it :) They're fun people and should be a fun season for us :)

samir_royalsCC

Big Hitter said...

ok here are my div 1 playoff teams.

1 wildcats
2 challengers
3 peoria
4 milw cc
5 muslim gym
6 rogers park
7 united
8 pak gym

What news? How's life? See you tomorrow at the AGM. I will be a little late.... got a practice game on till about 2pm or so. Hope to get there around 3. I'm sure that the AGM will just be starting..... since it's a bunch of desis and carib folk trying to meet at a particular time!! :)

I'm all for a playa's association.

Aditya said...

Interesting predictions regarding Div 2 and Div 1. Don't know enough about Div 2 to comment. But Div 1, replacing SL and Purdue with RP and Peoria. Interesting.....

Peoria is looking so damn strong. Keep telling Madhu he doesn't need to stockpile all the talent in the league!! I believe they're going to add Chintan to the mix! The only thing they haven't stockpiled on so far are spinners. Maybe Madhu's going to pull off a coup, and get Asif, Naren, and Tehsin a job at Caterpillar as well!!! :)

Rup said...

Blog is dead.. wake up guys.

Adi, I will see you at the AGM tomorrow.
Yeh, Madhu is putting together an all star team.. Lets hope he can muzzle all that talent to function as a group..
