Chally.. I agree with your call...it would have gone either way..Ball was too damn fast from Kiran, there was a big deflection to the slip..It was tough call..Apart from that...I haven't seen any bad call from the umpire..He did a pretty decent job I think..but its great match with weather playing a major factor..Good luck on rest of the season..
Rom, Yeah, lets check out if its realy the paradise that Sadiq's been raving about.. Hey went to coupla cool places this weekend.."Crimson Lounge" and The Hunt Club (small but aiite)..
nw and tango, when this season's over and done with, lets hang, the 3 of us, maybe Sheky can join us too. My treat. Then, next year you guys come back with new nicks and we forget about everything that went on this season. Deal? :)
Fearing dehydration, we drank a lot of water. Then, we got pressure to do 'susu', but we couldn't go, cos we were in the middle of the field. Thats why we lost.
Well play PCC. Madhu.. keep up the good work as your clean hitting at the end took you guys home needing 43 to win 3 wickets in hand. You must have gotten 35 of the 43. at the ends 151 was not enough. Well played games by both sides. The only negative I can come up with was the loop holes in the umpiring. Good luck PCC for the rest of the season as you may have sent ICC packing for the summer.
If I were in your shoes, and if I found out about two guys using nicknames and getting on peoples nerves, then I'd definitely blackmail them. Atleast, I'd get some money out of it :))
Yeah Rup.. It was great game over the way thru..and fortunes did shift back and forth..I took my chances and came out with the big hits..Like Preetam said..Luck favors the brave..:) neverthless it was good game played..I was really nice to see Chally running up his full 25 yard to bowl.. for all his 8 overs...It was great experience..for our batsmen..who were craving to face him...and you..well played man..You have a good run-rate, you never know what happens in the end...Playoff race just heated up...
Good luck to ICC man..Its always a pleasure to host u guys..
Ram.. DOn't ask us..Ask ICC..they started it..:)We just worked with what they gave us..:)..Our bowlers did a very good job..especially the spinners..they put clamps on ICC scoring rate..ICC started very well..but once Collins got caught, and Jack got caught immediately after, pretty much score rate came down...Kalyan was shooting a maiden after an another..only his last over, 5 wides a 6 took is over rate to 24 run in 8 overs....He got Rup clean bowled, a peach of a deliver that cut in from middle and leg to uproot his middle stump..Anyway..Great game there..Told you Subbu would ove it..:)
Alright guys here..here is the summary..Let me see if any one can beat the length..:) Sheks..there you go bud..NO breaks..for you.. I know its long but its worth reading as it captures the moments..of the game..
Game Summary: ICC vs PCC @Mossville, Augh12th Sunday
Game Summary:
It was like a oven at 11 AM in the morning. ICC team showed up at around 11:15 Am and we pitched tents, got ready immediately. We started the game around 11:35 AM or so. Once again, PCC lost the toss, it was a tough toss to loose. Opponents decided to bat with out hesitation. When I asked Rup what they were going to do after having won the toss..he said in cool demeanor, "Don't even ask?" I thought it was pretty funny...We would have batted on this torrid day..I really think there advantage to batting first on this day with 105 F heat index.
Bowling honors were started by Karthik and Kiran. First we decided to go 3 overs each and not push bowlers too much. Both Kiran and Karthik bowled very well in this intense heat. We knew their batting style and we had right placements but ball evaded us in our intial overs. Collins stuck there and got few flurry of boundaries through point region and tried plug that gap, but ball was just giving us a slip.Score was about 33 runs in 7 overs for no loss. Kiran who was plugging away gave us the first break through a great catch by Vinay moving to this left and catching a head high flat catch. It was great way to start. Yodeo Narrain, a left bat was on the other end pushing ones and two's. They had lefty-right combination strategy and they wanted to sap the fielding side. Jack came to join Yodeo. Kathik bowled very well but could not get a break through. Kiran on the end had other plans. He bowled a fastish out dipper and made Jack play a shot to the point which took the top edge and very nice catch taken by Karthik in slips. Jack wasn't happy with the decision, but there was a big deflection on the ball. It had some bat definitely on it.Madhu came to ball and caught good line right away. Ron came in to join Yodeo. Simple high catch was dropped of Yodeo at first slip of Madhu's bowling. Another catch was dropped in the same over at shot point. PCC buckled up at this point and we cannot drop sitters like these. On humid day it will put too much pressure on fielding team. Madhu was very unlucky not to get wicket in that over. But batsmen weren't taking any runs either, due to intense heat. Easy Two's were resulting in 1's. Also, PCC was fielding very well and bowlers were bowling to the field. Every one was alert and not letting batsmen take any runs. Even to take singles was a torture on this day. Vivek came in from the other end and bowled very well making the batsmen play and drive. Immediately, he was rewared with a wicket of Yodeo, caught at shot covers. Rup came in to keep the lefty-right combination and to tire us out, by making the fielders move. Madhu plugged away on the other end and set Ron up, for a cut which resulted in a catch at gully, very well taken by Praveen. Nokhrom their top batsmen came in next. We brought in the spinners right away. Kalyan came in and stuck to the awesome middle-off stump line and batsmen had trouble playing as they were unable move their feet well to fastish spin of Kalyan. Immediately Kalyan got break through of Rup, clean bowled. Just a perfect ball making the batsmen hit it across the line, as there was no fielder in country. Perfect setup by Kalyan. Now Shekar joined Nokhrom in the middle. It was such torrid day that even to stand their at the crease was punishment in hell. Nokhron, Shekar plugged away for a while. Now we brough in Vinay to replace Madhu on the other end. Singles were hard to come, we just tightened the screws at this point. Both Kalyan and Vinay, made the batsmen toil for everything. No easy singles and fielding was topnotch. Every one coming on to the ball and throwing right back to the keeper. Score came to stand still. Kalyan was whipping a maiden over after another. Vinay was just bowling to the field making batsmen to think and play shots. It was perfect combination. Batsmen just defended at this point and no runs resulting. We took a break at 26 overs and score read about 95 runs.
Since fast bowlers are fresh after break, we decided to bring in Karthik for couple of overs. Also we had change wicket keeper as Krishna was not feeling well and heat was getting to him. We had Ashok come come in for Krishna and Praveen took over the wicket keeping duties. It appears batsmen talked about and decided to accelarate at this point looks like. Nokhrom body language gave away that they are trying to accelarate, trying to swing his bat at this point. Karthik perfectly setting him up with slower one and which resulted awesome running catch by Santosh. A great break through for PCC! Santosh had to cover at least 10 yards to catch this and caught it pefectly. Score at this point was around 102 runs. Karthik couldn't keep up with heat and had to leave the ground. Krishna came back in. Vinay plugged away at this end and Kalyan on the other end. Kalyan got 2 more clean bowleds. Vinay on the other was plugging away was unluck to get a wicket. A catch was dropped but runs have dried up pretty much. Kiran came in on the other end and cleaned up couple of wickets. A clean bowled was a treat to watch. A pefectly pitched leg cutter for George who was looking very good.. Pretty much tailender were in at this point swinging for everything. Aaron got hold of Kalyan for a lusty six over midwicket. Kiran got a yorker and had batsmen play across the line for plumb decision from the umpire. Kalyan came in and few run leaked, but it wasn't big a deal. But day like this every run matters. They were all out for 151 in 38 overs.
Heat was getting on to the players. Every was so tired and wanted to rest up. And biryani for lunch wasn't a good idea on this day, but we did eat little bit and went in for our batting innings. Kiran and Praveen started the innings and strategy was see of the new ball and not loose too many wickets. Unfortunately, it wasn't to be and Kiran was clean bowled in very first over. Nice inswinging dipper from Rup, uprooted Kiran's off-stump. Vijay SP went in. We were 2 runs for 1 wicket. Praveen stuck there with Vijay trying to see of the ball. They both did very well. Vijay was scoring nice at this point. And Praveen not yet opened his account. Both Rup and Aaron bowled well with the new ball with few extras here and there. We were going at 2 runs over at this point. There was change of bowling and Aaron got replaced by George. First ball of the over, Praveen went for a lusty pull shot and gave a simple catch at mid wicket. It was poor shot selection in the first ball of a new bowler. Vivek went in. He played couple of balls and went for his drive only resulting in a catch at point. Now PCC is in pressure. We sent in Vishal to give company to Vijay. Jack their fast bowler was waiting for middle order to come in before he can bowl. Vishal and Vijay played excellent knocks! They were patient and took what bowlers gave em. Vishal's timing on this hot day was impeccable. He was driving the ball so well. Now runs were coming, easily. Score rate was about 3.5 runs an over. We were 53 in 12 overs for 3 wickets. Both Vishal and Vijay focussed and played very well. Brought PCC back into the game. Now Jack came in as opposition ran out of options. Jack was bowling very well, on this hot day, running his 25 yard run-up. But Vishal and Vijay were not deterred. They were milking him for boundaries. Vijay in the point region and Vishal on the on-side. Now score was about 80 runs in 20 overs. Vishal sensing that it is his day, took on Jack. Vishal had misjudgement one ball and missed the line and was clean bowled. He mad well deserved 31 in 35 balls with 6 boundaries. Santosh joined Vijay in the middle. Satosh played awesome square cut that went all way to the boundary. He was playing very well, and suddenly he decided to stir a short-ball of Jack to third man and caught at second slip. A very nice catch indeed! Ron Plucked it off ground. Vinay went in next to give company to Vijay. Vijay at this was breaking free driving Rup for boundaries at cover point area. Score was moving along briskly. It read about 104 in 20 overs. Now Jack took upon himself personally going at with lot of energy trying get ICC back in the game. Its very nice see him run and bowl in sultry heat like this. Vijay decided to take on Jack at this point and missed the line. He was clean bowled, ball took the bail. He didn't realize that bail was dislodged, such was the ball. Madhu went to keep company with Vinay. Rup came back and he bowled a off-cutter to Vinay, who was pre determined to cut it thinking it was going out. He dragged the ball on the stumps. Oppostion was fired up at this point. We still needed 48 runs at this point. Krishna came in to join Madhu. Krishna just last week against IIT was in this situation. He knew what to do. Krishna gave very good stand and just concentrated on rotating the strike. Madhu was playing freely and the only way he knows. Rup bowled a slower ball was sent to the boundary at fine leg. Madhu was driving with authority. He droke straight up over bowlers head. Both Krishna and Madhu ran very hard for all singles and doubles they got. Aaron came in and Madhu took him on. He send for a country boundary and a six over Jack stationed there. Score was inching along towards the target. Jack still had 2 overs left. Krishna milked Jack for 3X2's in gully region. Scoring was moving briskly. Aaron came back and Madhu sent his first ball for huge six over the longon. Now targe score is only 17 runs. Both Krishna and Madhu ran smartly for their runs. Now adrenalin is high, so, heat wasn't bothering the batsmen. 12 runs left now. Madhu hit a boundary. Few singles, now only 7 runs required, Krishna took over and got couple of runs and Madhu finished off the final run! It was great WIN. We reached the target in 28.5 overs. It tough day to bat, but PCC did it! Fotunes swithced back and forth...but PCC in the end came victories!
Madhu you are a wicked man :):) if this is what happened..
He bowled a fastish out dipper and made Jack play a shot to the point which took the top edge and very nice catch taken by Karthik in slips. Jack wasn't happy with the decision, but there was a big deflection on the ball.
then it would have read...
He bowled a fastish out dipper and made Jack play a shot to the point which took the top edge and very nice catch taken by Karthik in slips. Jack WALKED BEFORE UMPIRE EVEN SENT HIM... I am a walker bro.
Chally.. You gotta to first tell ua..what pills you took to bowl 8 overs (I think 6 overs on the trot) running 25 yards each time..:) Awesome to see that bro..
Madhu, you r an awesome writer. you look and write like my h/s comprehension teacher, although his hair was a bit spiker than yours and he looked a bit like Einsten.
Thanks for the encouragement Madhu but ICC is about ready to throw in the towel for this season and probably this league. We don't gripe too much about Umpiring cause when we do every one just jump our bones. Yesterday after the loss to PCC we sat for an hour after PCC left contemplating what we want to do (of course having a few cold one also). My players look depressed at what poor umpiring has done to us this season and past. poor umpiring against us has forced a lot of ICC batsman to bat like we playing back yard cricket. Don't let it hit your pads cause you most likely wil be given out. It's hard to focus on batting when you think about umpire???. Our Bowlers are so frustrated at the excuses some umpires will come up with just not to give a batsman out. for some reason we get a lot of the reverse of what the umpire call for our oponents. It was a unanimous decision that because of the poor umpiring against us we will never be able to win so why kill ourselves. Let play a different version of the game, may be a different division or even a different league or no league just tour other cities. It's a shame and something I never visioned that I will be in a team that will be at a crossroad like this because of someone elses actions. Peace and out.
Madhu no pills bro just will power and determination....and a wicket for 3 straight over gave me more and more energy if I could have bowled 15 overs I was going to do it...Of course fitness is key...
neanderthal_walking said... vetti has to be either ajit or samarth. but samarth is still around but i dont see vetti or ajit (he is in india). i think it got to be ajit -----------------------------------nw, I think you are a better 'hider' than you are a 'finder'. There's no way ajit is vetti, or samarth for that matter. Vetti, do you agree? and like sheky said, the 'deep throat' was a watergate reference, nothing to do with my otherwise innuendo-laden blogging.
this is what this leagues does to us... send us 1 great umpire to give us hope even if we lose we feel like the umpire was awesome.. then we get 7 bad ones to wipe all our hopes away....
Jack drove over a juice low full toss.. ball hit bottom of bat hit the ground slip caugth on the bounce and he was sent packing... now how can ICC feel like we are ever beaten....? the most depressing thing is our players are going into 7-11 and other places meeting opposition players and they are laughing at us saying things like: 1) we knew you was not out.. 2) we told the umpire(in hindu) to give you out... 3) the umpire did not know but for some strange reason he knowns when its on the other side... And a lot of outher bs excuses...
Now I hope we play next season because i have a chip on my shoulder...
Thanks for the kind respectful words, despite our stinky performance. You guys played great.
Sorry for the unfortunate decision you got, but hey, your team still won.
Thanks Asmar. I know what it's like to be on the other end - we've had a few of those this season already! I'm sure you guys will bounce back next game. I particularly liked the shot over extra cover for four that you hit! As for my decision, it's part of the game and somtimes things go your way, sometimes they don't.
By the way, any idea why Tango and NW are on y'all's cases this morning? Did someone forget to feed them their pills again?
Rup, Just a curious question. No hidden implications, no double 'entendre nothing. Why are all the umpires against ICC? Once No hidden meanings behind that question.
here is something for you two, romeen and sheky. since you are so desperate to find out about me and tango, i will give you a chance to name 10 guesses about us. if u get it right i will email you my identity. hope tango will do the same.
I don't think you guys should give up your identity that easily. Once given up, your styles have become quite popular and so it will be difficult for you to hide behind another nick and continue in the same vein.
If you are going to give up your nick's, do it for a worthy cause. How about something like this? Make a deal where u give up your nick, but the person must ensure that in the next presidential elections for MWCC, they vote for a candidate that you support. For example, if you give up your nick to Romo, make sure the wildcats then vote on an agreed upon candidate. This way, it'll be for a good cause. Or something along those lines......
I disagree with Adi. First of all, you are not giving up your identity to everybody. And secondly, if you guys are as creative as you seem to be, you can always alter your style under the new nick.
Preetam, That's the million dollar question we were trying to answer yesterday. We don't understand why but I am about to give up on the hopes I had that maybe one day some of these umpires will wake up one day and understand that we all play this game because we love it and they should not take that away from the players.
stop kissing ass man. everyone get bad decisions but they dont come here and blog whole day about it
NW, 1 post on the blog, and 1 reply to Asmar does not mean I've blogged on it the entire day. Now tell me, what happened to you this morning? Why so bitter? Did your predictions not work out? Ran out of milk? No more prosac? Annoyed at the missed deep-throat reference? Boss on your case? Concerned about not making the playoffs? What's up man? Why so much negativity. That too with little to no humour? C'mon, that's not the NW we have all come to know and enjoy. Will the real NW please stand up?
Romeen, I will post a special summary ONLY for you with proper punctuation next time. Please forgive me for adding extra periods. Its just a 'sentence continuoustance' I picked up in chat rooms.
I not written that far to see the 'Writers block' man.:)As far as cricket match summary is concerned never had any sort of block:) What about Sadiq? Is C8w around..
Preetam I will like to know why they are.. I wish someone will tell us... This is how I used to play cricket... Come out hungry to win but have a few laughs in the process.. Run in hard take me 4s.. then give my body shots where applicable.. Appeal for a decision umpire say not out walk back thinking damn I was close let me get closer... batting play my shots, umpire send me I turn and walk no problem... Now in MWCC which I renamed... MWPL - MidWest Political League... you are playing the team plus the umpires most times the umpire is a part of the team behind closed doors... and when he is not he did not see or he does not know... or he say let me call the league and find out.. but in reality he is calling a buddy talking in hindu and have us as ass...
Now I have a challenge for this league politicians give us fair umpiring and we will pay each winning team... now I know we wont have to pay anyone because fair umpiring will lead to wins and we wont have to pay anyone
Thanks for the compliment, we needed about 20 more shots like that one to make it a close one :-)
As for the 2 bloggers on our case, we could'nt care less about what they have to say. I find it a waste of time to respond to people who use the blog for personal attacks without revealing their identities.
Could not get mysefl to crawl out from under that rock I was hiding under....but had too....lot of intresting posts.
Madhu, just so you know, am gonna be using your summary as a bookmark, so I can get to the bottom of the blog to get to the new posts :). Congrats on the win. ICC, hard luck guys.
Preetam: I got nothing to say to you guys except all the Eagles in the off season need to go and get a Kaal-Sarp yagna done ! and can we borrow Subbu for our last 2 games ? I feel thou pain but my pain is more from my bats (me in particular) not finishing off the job our bowlers do!
Limiting QC to 138 was awesome. We were 5/1, 19/2, 53/3 in 12 and then ........ 88 all out !
We way way better than that.....We had IIT in our cross-sights and then Q.C and we let them walk away with wins. HURTS .....
Madhu, You know i was just pulling your leg. I know you write your "Summmmmmary" because you love your game so much. Kudos for that. And keep it coming. Just dont post questions on it at the end. Romeen, we play continental at heritage park next saturday. I just pray we dont massage any of Yemani's catches. Sorry about your continuous badluck Rup and Chally.
so nw, here's my first guess for you. If you like jelly beans, you'd prefer the blue ones :) Just kidding, this guess doesnt count, it was too tempting.
Ram said: Romeen , if u suck, then where do I stand? --------
Ram, I would have to say you just stand tall and Str8 and Romeen will take care of the rest....or you could lay down too...and....SHIV SHIV SHIV.......:)
Preetam: I agree. You guys for sure gifted us that win ...last 4 guys scored 100 runs for us. I still remember you guys hangin out after that game talking about it and that's when I had a feeling that that was gonna come around and bite us :)...and it has. Our bats for most parts have been silent since our game.
Now there's the NW that we've enjoyed for so long. You know I'm not going to get upset or take it personally. Man the last few posts have been hilarious, specially on ur knee.
That was priceless. I had to keep from laughing out loud. That has to be the comment of the day!
Swetal, I didnt play that game against you guys. But Sanjeev gave me a good gyst of it during the rahman show that weekend. This year has been a drudgery of sorts. Jack, why didnt you open the bowling? Maybe that backfired. By the time Jack came on the batsmen must have settled. Think about it. Right Madhu.
Preetam N actually that worked in our favor.. After 8 overs I think PCC was 3 down for about about 30.. I think in my first over we dropped Vijay although I got him later it would have opened them up big time. batmens was not set before I came in... I would have love to have mudhu in around that time but he kept hiding and hiding not until they were 6 down he came in... Then when I wanted to take a break I was began taking a wicket in each of my next 3 overs
I just looked up the Div 2 points table and it is really close. Advancers, PCC, and QC Kings are all tied at 10 wins and 1 loss. Unless something drastic happens, it looks like it's going to go down to NRR. It would be a shame for any of those teams to miss out based on NRR.
I would say, up to No. 8, it's a pretty tight knit group and any of those teams could win it all. So pleased to see my old team Madison in that group and having a good year.
Really looks like the top 8 teams from Div 2 would be competitive in Div 1 as well.
Chally.. Don't be putting our strategy out there....like that in the open man..:)Trust me..our game game would have gone either way...few breaks here there..It was well fought game...We had few lucky breaks..that part of the cricket game..don't u agree..:)
said... lolz man its so hilarious with on the knee comment, i am here rom just had to go for lunch and laughing my heart out on that comment --------------------------------- Happy to bring some cheer... :) I'm never gonna use the phrase' I suck' again. Then again, if I batted better, I'd never have to use it in the first place. :)
Game of this week is IIT vs Advancers...It has profound effect on the table..Bloggers have guessed already I am sure..which team PCC will be routing for..Like Adi said..Its 'Dog eat dog' world out there..
Advancers are very good and IIT are equally good..Both teams have century makers on their roster and lots bowling options..It will fun game to watch...:)
I wish I was in Chicago..These r the only times I wish I were in Chicago...to watch..these games..
------ Romeen said... Madhuuuuuuuu, please come back and say we are cool. ------
Ok, Romeen, youre cool (not as cool as The Fonz, of course, but still cool. Gotta be the wheelz).
Oh, and BTW, I aint *raving* about Paradise per se - its not as good as Usmaniya or Khans probably. Iam just saying its better than Pepper'n'Salt - but then PeppernSalt aint that good :-)
And after Madhu's magnum opus, nobody better complain about my length anymore (of my posts! of my posts! One has to be careful to specify on the blog nowadays, apparently). Thanks tho Madhu - it was IMHO the game of the week this week, and its nice to get details of it, just as it was last week (if you write the same length matchreport next week, however, *then* you may hear some complaints ;-)
--------------------------------- romeen said: Oh, I remember. I've dont think we've met. I'm sure you are a good player, you'll definitely feel better about yourself if you see me play.
--------------------------------- for sure, u dunno me !
you are doing good this year, dude...why do u feel you s*** (NW doesn't understand this, trust me)
Ok, took a short break thinking I'll be off the hook. But no such luck :) c8w, we gotta go critique paradise, Do they have paya? ram , I did start pretty good, have had a slump lately.Hope to bounce back soon.More importantly, we as a team hope to bounce back soon.
We got biryani from Paradise for our game this Sunday. It was pretty decent. I stuck to the Chicken version... left all that ghaas phuus for the the Gujju bhais on the team. :-)
It was decent. I wouldn't turn it down, now that I'd turn down biryani ever.... but it wasn't something to rave about.

ate some spicy bbq burrito....damn it was good...
Maybe I'm high on that..
howz your weekend?
Hey everybody!
I think the only time a batsman can be forced to wear some gear is when they are running for another batsman. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Naren , what was the message Adi wanted to pass on? And why is being so sheepish? :)
Good win, Adi.
Sheky, good luck for the game.
Ram,
I dunno if we'll have food tomorrow, but I'll definitely hook you up after the game...
You like those frankies? or you want something else?
Sheky, we still have to check out this 'paradise' that c8w's been raving about.
whts going on romeen. whts happening to CATS. dont tell me i' gonna play against some PUSSYCATS in play offs :)))
Cheers
Madhu Reddy
PCC
nw, a wounded cat is a wounded cat, even if its a pussycat :)
and n_w, you guys must be doing pretty good, talking playoffs with a flair, huh?
madew,
how's it going buddy?
are you taking it easy because you are already through?
ND,
I have a new game for today.
Let us come up with 50 excuses for Rogers Park losing to Phoenix.
I'll start.
------------------------------------
Excuse #1
My dog ate the strategy book
-Captain, Rogers Park
nw, NO, we are not taking it easy, we got beat comprehensively.
good detective work there romeen. its getting closer to the end. i wanted to give away lil. :)). or did I?
Rom,
Yeah, lets check out if its realy the paradise that Sadiq's been raving about..
Hey went to coupla cool places this weekend.."Crimson Lounge" and The Hunt Club (small but aiite)..
Atleast one of my predictions was right, no team will go to the playoffs undefeated.
#2
stumps were too wide.
n_w,
I thought you didnt play...
I think he's messing with us rom..
#3
Phoenix players were speaking in Gujarti, we got confused and threw our wickets away.
romeen, have you given upon catching me?
#4 phoenix had one guy who could bowl. we didnt expect that
nw and tango, when this season's over and done with, lets hang, the 3 of us, maybe Sheky can join us too. My treat.
Then, next year you guys come back with new nicks and we forget about everything that went on this season. Deal? :)
#5
Fearing dehydration, we drank a lot of water. Then, we got pressure to do 'susu', but we couldn't go, cos we were in the middle of the field. Thats why we lost.
as far as i know you cant keep a secret buddy. so how am i gonna rest my life on you sloppy mouth? :))
ND, sambhal ke, RoRo is just trying to butter us up so that he can blackmail us later on :)
# we spent too much time looking for excuses, we forgot to practice
What??!!
Baseless accusation! :)
Ask Sheky, I was woodward and bernstein rolled into one for him.
And his nick wasnt even 'deep throat'.
tht was # 6
#7
It was really hot, and we forgot to bring sunscreen.
Romeen said...

# 8
we couldnt find MAGIC water.
n_w,
Rom's a man of his word.....he didnt give me up...
I gave up myself...
It would be fun...if we can hang out...and like Romeen said, start with a different nick next year...play this game again..
hey rom how was ur game on sunday??
Rom n Gyn!! man would have been so much fun...
#9
We thought Aditya was Rosy O'Donnell. We got scared and lost the game.
out of curiosity wht was your last year nick name sheky? want to go back and check whether you have talked thrash about me
Sheky, RoRo,
Lets see. Maybe...
If I were in your shoes, and if I found out about two guys using nicknames and getting on peoples nerves, then I'd definitely blackmail them. Atleast, I'd get some money out of it :))
thanks Shekhs...any veggie should be fine...I am going to bring my son to the game, so don't get out first ball and tarnish your image :)
# 10
shiv looked too tall and our bloated self esteem didnt stand up with him
n_w,
Here's the deal, you give up yours...and I give up mine... :-)
sounds fair?
Cheers

We were disturbed by our own reflection in opponent's sunglasses.
lol Ram..
There aint no image to be tarnished....dont have to worry about that...
Everything is mixed with soil (translating...sab mitti mein mil gaya...)
sheky,
you must be deep_midwicket
Madew, thought it would be a high scoring game on sunday in Mossville...
Maybe justice4all
# 12
we didnt know we have to score more than opposition to win
tango, romeen gave away 'deep'
i missed addy here.
#13
I wasn't taking the game seriously because I couldn't win a prize.
-Shiraz
you guys are off the hook today..
:-)
deep throat was meant for the nick deep throat in "Water gate" scandal...thats why he mentioned woodward...
nope..I had no deep in my nick..
good try though..
# 14
we didnt have anyone so we had to open with shiraz and asmar
No, not deep_midwicket. Something else. Romeen busted Shekhs nick. I was suspecting it based on writing style while communicating with me thru email.
u still carry that email id Shekhs?
hahaha!
#14 was good ND :)
ram,
give us a clue man
#15
We don't bowl well against bad batting teams.
Madew Reddy
PCC
absolutely..Ram..
I can always use an extra email id...and that too a crazy one..
# 16
we had to drive to heritage park for like 10 mins
ND, I have to go now. Will finish up on these excuses later.
Its a lot harder than I thought i would be. Maybe Shiraz and Asmar can help us out :)
NW, Didn't Sheky offer a deal?
BTW guys, where's this Vetti guy? Is he Samarth?
Madhu..
Good luck man for the rest of the season...it was hot but I was loving the game... could have gone anyway
Ram,
I think Vetti is Ajit....
should be back soon..
vetti has to be either ajit or samarth. but samarth is still around but i dont see vetti or ajit (he is in india). i think it got to be ajit
I was expecting a high scoring game between PCC/ICC. Not your fault though, Madew :)
Ours was a fantastic game...good clean restrooms dude in Mossville facility...too bad no trees...they provided tents.
I doubt Ajit is Vetti...isn't Ajit older than Samarth...By old, I mean an elderly gentleman.
The way Vetti writes is so youngish...
Romeen, do u remember Vetti's comments? Does Ajit speak like they way Vetti writes? u know what I mean...Tell us what your thoughts are.
Madew, are u sure you are working today?
Madhu you are a wicked man :):)
if this is what happened..
Ram,
Just multi-tasking..man..:)You know how that goes..
Cheers
M
Chally..
You gotta to first tell ua..what pills you took to bowl 8 overs (I think 6 overs on the trot) running 25 yards each time..:) Awesome to see that bro..
Cheers
M
Ram from what i have seen and known Ajit, I dont think he is Vetti in the way he writes..
Madhu,
you r an awesome writer. you look and write like my h/s comprehension teacher, although his hair was a bit spiker than yours and he looked a bit like Einsten.

-----------------------------------nw, I think you are a better 'hider' than you are a 'finder'. There's no way ajit is vetti, or samarth for that matter.
Vetti, do you agree?
and like sheky said, the 'deep throat' was a watergate reference, nothing to do with my otherwise innuendo-laden blogging.
I think vettis is Shiv from phoenix.
What say Adi?
*vetti
this is what this leagues does to us... send us 1 great umpire to give us hope even if we lose we feel like the umpire was awesome.. then we get 7 bad ones to wipe all our hopes away....
Jack drove over a juice low full toss.. ball hit bottom of bat hit the ground slip caugth on the bounce and he was sent packing...
now how can ICC feel like we are ever beaten....?
the most depressing thing is our players are going into 7-11 and other places meeting opposition players and they are laughing at us saying things like:
1) we knew you was not out..
2) we told the umpire(in hindu) to give you out...
3) the umpire did not know but for some strange reason he knowns when its on the other side...
And a lot of outher bs excuses...
Now I hope we play next season because i have a chip on my shoulder...
my bad romeen,
you have been reading too much. try to keep up with you.
Asmar said...
Aditya,
Thanks for the kind respectful words, despite our stinky performance.
Rup,
Just a curious question. No hidden implications, no double 'entendre nothing. Why are all the umpires against ICC?
Once No hidden meanings behind that question.
here is something for you two, romeen and sheky. since you are so desperate to find out about me and tango, i will give you a chance to name 10 guesses about us. if u get it right i will email you my identity. hope tango will do the same.
are you in?
Once'again'....
Sheky, did you guys have fun friday?
Romeen,
I'll have to go back and take a look at the comments. The thought never struck me, but you may be right. I'll get back to you on that one....
Madhu,
Do you ever get a writers block ? :)
Good game, nw. I'm up for it.
Now, do Sheky and I both get 10 guesses each or does it have to be a team effort?
adi,
stop kissing ass man. everyone get bad decisions but they dont come here and blog whole day about it
each get ten for me ten for tango
good one preetam!
And madhu, whats up with the multiple periods after each sentence?
OK, nw, I'm in. Lets confirm Sheky and Tango.
Also, it is difficult to get all guesses right. Whats our passing score?
NW, Tango,
I don't think you guys should give up your identity that easily.
Preetam,
That's the million dollar question we were trying to answer yesterday.
We don't understand why but I am about to give up on the hopes I had that maybe one day some of these umpires will wake up one day and understand that we all play this game because we love it and they should not take that away from the players.
Preetam, when and where do you guys play next?

NW, 1 post on the blog, and 1 reply to Asmar does not mean I've blogged on it the entire day. Now tell me, what happened to you this morning? Why so bitter? Did your predictions not work out? Ran out of milk? No more prosac? Annoyed at the missed deep-throat reference? Boss on your case? Concerned about not making the playoffs? What's up man? Why so much negativity. That too with little to no humour? C'mon, that's not the NW we have all come to know and enjoy. Will the real NW please stand up?

Don't pick on Adi dude; he is a nice guy. It was just a passing reference. Been reading ICC's comments today?
Romeen,
Agree or disagree, at least they should give up their nicks for a good cause - whatever it may be, wouldn't you say?
Romeen,
I will post a special summary ONLY for you with proper punctuation next time. Please forgive me for adding extra periods. Its just a 'sentence continuoustance' I picked up in chat rooms.
Cheers,
M
Shekhs, whom are u playing tomorrow?
Preetam,
I not written that far to see the 'Writers block' man.:)As far as cricket match summary is concerned never had any sort of block:) What about Sadiq? Is C8w around..
Cheers
Madhu
Alright Madhu, sounds good....
just joking, kiddo, you know I love you.
Romeen, You have been awarded the MOM for Friday's century...139 comments b4 single ball was bowled :)
Agreed Adi.
Lets think of some good causes.
Ram, I think I'm using up all my luck on fridays, come saturday I suck a**
Next friday, we're gonna have Sheky open the blog.
where are you madhu? mad at me?
Hey madhu I hope you have some sixes and fours left for tuesday...
Hey Mr Romeo,
Looks like ur love is free for all..Just philonthropist..Still...Right here!
M
So when do i get to see you next, dude?
Now you are hurting my feelings :)
I criticize your grammar and you trash my love life :)
Adi,
Thanks for the compliment, we needed about 20 more shots like that one to make it a close one :-)
As for the 2 bloggers on our case, we could'nt care less about what they have to say. I find it a waste of time to respond to people who use the blog for personal attacks without revealing their identities.
-Asmar
hey,is the whole continuostance thing real or you just made that up?
Asmar, good job with umpiring the other day. The Najams are a good pair of umpires. We gave you a boring game, but you got to go home early :)
adi,
i was just messing with you man. dont be so sensitive. :)))). do i have to remember what did you do to poor sharath?
BTW adi,
i got all my predictions except one, purdue/united game right this time.
nw, I think you ticked adi off, now we wont have him back for some time.
I think I did the same with Madhu.
hi guys,
Could not get mysefl to crawl out from under that rock I was hiding under....but had too....lot of intresting posts.
HURTS .....
Crawling back to be under that rock.........
Madhuuuuuuuu, please come back and say we are cool.
And swet, stay, blog.
Romeen,
Thanks for the umpiring compliment. That is the only thing I have been good with on the cricket field this season :-)
We liked getting back home early, but you guys did make a good game out of it. Maybe 40 runs short??
-Asmar
Madhu,
You know i was just pulling your leg. I know you write your "Summmmmmary" because you love your game so much. Kudos for that. And keep it coming. Just dont post questions on it at the end.
Romeen, we play continental at heritage park next saturday. I just pray we dont massage any of Yemani's catches.
Sorry about your continuous badluck Rup and Chally.
romeen,
adi is so sensitive, so soft, so smooth.......:)))))))
so nw, here's my first guess for you.
If you like jelly beans, you'd prefer the blue ones :)
Just kidding, this guess doesnt count, it was too tempting.
Preetam , good luck for the game.
And you got me in trouble with madhu with your smartass comment :)
Are you gonna visit me when I'm in a cast?
Asmar, maybe, 40 more runs and it would have been a game.
Swetal, Except for the games against Jaguars, Peoria and ICC we lost every game because of that curse which has been haunting us.
Preetam and Swet, you both need some major exorcism.
Romeen , if u suck, then where do I stand?
Where is Samir today ? Are we still on for lunch this wednesday ? Shekhs....Samir...Rup ?
Stop being horny, Romeen :)

Our bats for most parts have been silent since our game.
plus it was a noball as well...NW is enjoying this...
Ram, you got all the double entendre guys having a field day now. See what you started?
Swetal and NW, I am not sure what turns you guys on :)
it was too tempting but very inappropriate.
Romeen - the angrez - at it again.....bada bada words use nahee karnay ka kya.....entendre and all...
but then most words in the Gujju language are entendre.
Let's call Dr. B and help us out here with his message !
decent comeback Ram, this was a good length one on the off stump. What you need is a good old fashioned beamer.
NW,
Now there's the NW that we've enjoyed for so long. You know I'm not going to get upset or take it personally. Man the last few posts have been hilarious, specially
on ur knee.
That was priceless. I had to keep from laughing out loud. That has to be the comment of the day!
Preetam N said...

Yes, I'm in. Pita Inn?
Preetam,
We can do carpool since our workplace is closer. I can come and pick you up. Thanks.
Dont blame the language swet, its you!
everybody spare a thought for the victim of that comment, if you think about it, the victim's not ram, its me! :)
Swets, just saw your comment and it was funny too... except it wasn't the first one!
Swetal,
I didnt play that game against you guys. But Sanjeev gave me a good gyst of it during the rahman show that weekend.
This year has been a drudgery of sorts.
Jack, why didnt you open the bowling? Maybe that backfired. By the time Jack came on the batsmen must have settled. Think about it. Right Madhu.
i know that. that what make it hilarious
Romes: tru dat. it be me.
So who all amongst the bloggers are coming to watch Challengers-Horizon morrow ?
Oh nw, arent you just dying to tell me who you are?
I'll try, unless that triviality called work gets in the way.
Romeen said...

romeen, victim is my knee too...it ain't getting any younger !
now, let's stop discussing about various other paraphernalia !
Swet, I'll be coming in tomorrow to watch the game...I don't get many chances on weekdays, but I have one this week. Will capitalize on it for sure.

you dont have to be on knees (its hot though). there are other ways as long as you dont BLOW up the JOB romee should be fine.
please ram stop it
where's shekhs and naren and tango and the rest of the gang?
you guys work too hard.
Preetam N
actually that worked in our favor..
Ramsundar Lakshminarayanan you have a great sense of humor... you are funny..
Doctor and ram taking this blog in a wild path
lolz man its so hilarious with on the knee comment, i am here rom just had to go for lunch and laughing my heart out on that comment..

Happy to bring some cheer... :)
I'm never gonna use the phrase' I suck' again.
Then again, if I batted better, I'd never have to use it in the first place. :)
Ram, u r funny, have to agree with chally.
I wonder how many of us are going to get fired as a direct result of this blog.Especially the ones that are getting paid by the hour.
madew's back!!
Adi,
Game of this week is IIT vs Advancers...It has profound effect on the table..Bloggers have guessed already I am sure..which team PCC will be routing for..Like Adi said..Its 'Dog eat dog' world out there..
M
Enlighten me guys, whose victory would benefit PCC?
Romeen,
now lets get back to my original question...you haven't anwered me yet...got distracted by NW and Swet, eh?
Yeah Ram, what was the question again? And please choose your words carefully :)
IIT's victory.
but the advancers are pretty good, right?
'that' word is all part of the question man...can't separate it ...NW's fingers are itching now...
it should be IIT beating Advancers isnt it Rom
Thank you Ram..you are the WINNER..
Common Romeen...Never thougth you would 'suck' this bad..:) hehe..
M
Oh, I remember.
I've dont think we've met. I'm sure you are a good player, you'll definitely feel better about yourself if you see me play.
Yes Madew, I guess we all have to take turns at being the victims for some fun and entertainment, today happened to be mine.
Hey Madew, some big hits tomorrow, bud.
I'm expecting one to cross the street and land in the park across.
Romeen,
How about we start WTS? What the Suck?:)
Advancers are very good and IIT are equally good..Both teams have century makers on their roster and lots bowling options..It will fun game to watch...:)
I wish I was in Chicago..These r the only times I wish I were in Chicago...to watch..these games..
Cheeers

Madhuuuuuuuu, please come back and say we are cool.

That was in response to another conversation NW and I were having. Trust me, I don't want to get involved in that thread!! :-)
nw, so are we gonna play the guessing game or not?
looks like sheky's being actually asked to earn his salary.so unfair.
Madhu,
WTS - good one. I liiiiiiikkkeee.
Man I loved that movie - Borat. Hilarious. "Sexy time"... I liiiiiikkkeee.
Adi, when's my turn to make the predictions?
