guys, we are slightly short staffed here.. Hari is busy at work, Aditya is vacationing and I am injured. I have read all the comments from the LA open thread including the request for a poll. It is a pain for me to type with one hand, so will wait for Aditya to return to put up the poll. Good luck to all teams.
Jolly Rovers Illinois Cricket Club Illinois Cricket Club Jaguars IIT IIT Arsenal NoStars Cricket Club Arsenal Madison Cricket Continental Madison Cricket Club Chicago Acers Lucky XI Lucky XI Universal Collinsville Club Collinsville Club Warriors Advancers Advancers Raiders SIUE Cricket Club SIUE Cricket Club Eagles Tigers Eagles CCI Chicago Giants Chicago Giants Evanston West Suburban XI Evanston Peoria Cricket Chicago Cricket Club Peoria Cricket Club
We (Arsenal) have played Peoria, Illinois, Tigers, Eagles, Raiders, Madison, Warriors (whom we lost too, so they batter than us!), West Suburban, Universal.
We still have to play NoStars, IIT, QC Kings, Advancers and Continental :)
The only teams we are not playing that I would have loved to play against are the Giants, Springfield, Collinsville & the Jolly Rovers......
I think we have had, if not the toughest schedule, at the least one of the toughest ones :)....But then we would not want it any other way.
and I think we have made it a little more difficult on ourselves by batting like dopes!
We are going to miss playing Giants, Advancers, Evaston, Madison, QC Kings and Jags.. They are all fantastic teams...! I guess..one team can only play 14 games in a season..Everyone have to travel 4 games norm looks like we travelled 5 games already...Same as Arsenal..We won't have it another way..All games we played were pretty hard and every one played competitive good spirit of the game....So far we came with flying colors and we hope to keep it rest of the way with IIT and ICC coming up...Wishing every team the best..in their seasons....I think it very nice see the competition..and I don't think playoff spots won't be decided till last game is played..:)
predications 4 week#12 in Div 1. 1.Wildcats-Bears.(Wildcats 4 sure because all the good players from bears r moving their is something major goin on inside the bears locker room). 2.Royals-United.(united because it's a must win game 4 united & mehul is goin to play this match). 3.Purdue-Muslim gym.(the best match-up of the week i think muslim is goin to win with the help of their newest addition afroze). 4.Rogers park-Flamed.(i take rogers park if ali is playing in this match). 5.St.louis-Chargers.(st.louis can somebody tell javed arshad that the name of the team is not goin to bring him any luck for the sake of the team he has to step down & give the job to irfan). 6.MUCC-Challengers.(challengers because they r the better team if sadiq don't make this game a close one with his decision cause he has to write a big summary & praise MUCC players). 7.MCC-AAA.(i don't know who to pick in this game what the heck i take AAA cause asif is not there to help MCC).
did anyone check the Xferred players list wtf goin on with pak why they Xferred abdul raoof for 1 match & pay $100 and then send him back to where he belong.
when is dead line of Xferred players is there one at all or we can lobby and grab all the best blokes out there who feel there is no chance of making to playoffs with their current teams WTF?
well buddy u living in a diffrent world if u think that nobody knows that asif is out of town well all i can say is that my eyes, ears & brain is always open except when i am drunk or having sex.
We( Eagles ) have played a tough schedule too this year. Missed a few by a whisker and then crumbled to some handsomely. Like Swetal and Madhu mentioned we would not like to have it any other way. Builds character.
Guys I'll say every good team want to play better team but we can play only 14 matches .....
We were dicussing abt tough schedule only.......
If Swetal is crying abt tough schedule then I must add they were 5 ranked team from last year n they shd not cry as they are only playing IIT,ICC,Peoria which were ranked higher then them last year
Most probably Tendulkar's last test match on Lords, hope he scores a century
Did anyone see that small drama when Pietersen was caught behind? the ball did carry but was initially given out by the main umpire. Can the main or 3rd umpire reverse the decision?
The deadline for tranfering players is july 15th i believe. Can anyone figure this out why are players leaving a champion ship team!!!! ? I believe Asad Ruaf is the smarter then Farhat and Ali they both played almost two years and decided to leave. However Asad left after playing one GAME!!! Rasheed should learn how to keep a team together not just be arrogant!!!
Nothing wrong with being arrogant.....as long as your winning. The moment you start losing, expect a lot of shit to be thrown at you.
Just look what happened to Raheel. I still remember that match report he had written where he was mocking MCC after getting them all-out for 30 runs or something. It was just one of the many arrogant things Raheel wrote last year. But his team was winning, so no one could say anything.
This year the tables have turned. So people are going to ride him, and his team, till they start winning again.
who can post l.a open picture on mcc web please contact me. i have cd which was given by adnan. it's has nice picture in it. picture of ground, facilitly, and even picture of kookaboora ball which we should use in our leauge. i"ll tell you guys ball was awsome in l.a open..
hey jaggi, if you can post those picture here please let me know, so i"ll bring the cd to night game this coming tuesday or monday. let me know. we are playing on tuesady night but i"ll come watch pak game on monday.
"But his team was winning, so no one could say anything."
Tango I dont know where you were .. there was a lot of stuff said. People with chips on their shoulders will say stuff no matter what. Winning and losing is part of the game and getting a Div 1 team all out for 24 is pretty unheard of (as is 4 bowleds in 4 balls - by Shahid) thats why I posted that.
My lack of blogging this year has nothing to do with team performance (I didn't write anything when we won the first few games) and has everything to do with work load and grad school.
But there has been a sharp change in your demeanor from last year. The arrogance seems to have vanished. No longer can boast about your statistics...like you did last year. And when we make fun of you, you obviously get bothered. Here are some of your recent posts..
I was jk about my batting (although the LA #s are real!) .. now people will start picking on my batting!
I'll do a summary at the risk of being bashed (yet again).
Are you trying to gain sympathy points for yourself by making such remarks?
Sorry sir, I am no fool. You shall get what you deserve. And you deserve everything that your getting!
Few nasty words from people like yourself? I can live with that - by the way I haven't been knighted yet, so hold the 'sir'.
Great! So no more whining from you? No more, "Ohhhh why is everyone picking on me?" I sure hope so. And don't worry about the Sir. I even call my dog, Sir Toby II, so its nothing to be proud of.
Shekhs said: Dax, What are you doing this afternoon? You wanna practice? ---------
Shekhs, WTF?! Its friday man....ain't there happy hour going on somewhere. I wanna go be happy afta the hour of 5:00 PM this evening! What ya upto this evening?
Dax: I can upload em pics, seeing how Jaggi is in-capacitated.
Swetal my man... What up??? Lets do it dawg...lets get out.. Me nothing..I wanted to practice..can't find any of my team mates....WTF...lets get drunk..
Simon_Dispatch, I dont know who you are ( sorry about that ) but thanks anyway. I have been reading this blog since a week and thought I will throw in my two paise too.
Preetam, Still remember that game we played in Springfiled against Tarun Reddy? Most imp. we played a against Illinois prior and we ended up beating springfield :)
Wildcats Vs Bears Update Cats batted first and scored 183 with contributions from Sumeet,Vikram,Sanjay.. Bears scored 112 and got all out sumeet was the star with the ball today with 2 wickets and 3 catches and Vinod was also good taking 3 or 4 wickets.
Muslim Gymkhana batted first and elected to bat. Purdue restricted them early on with some good bowling. Muslim Gymkhana were down 28/4 before Afroze, with the help of Imran and Rizwan, patiently built the innings. Purdue should have wrapped them up within 190 with the last pair at the crease, but a dropped catch, followed by a couple of midfields propelled the visitors to a score of 216. Afroze was the top scorer for Muslim Gymkhana after scoring 50 odd runs. Kaustubh and Ruchir were the pick of the Purdue bowlers.
Chasing scores in excess of 200 is always a tough task, but considering Purdue’s recent batting form, it didn’t seem all that bad.
Purdue started almost as badly as Muslim Gymkhana. The score was something like 40/4 after the eight over, with Ruchir, Pradeep, Appu and Chitan back in the pavilion (or broken down tent). Kamran got the two in-form batsman Ruchir and Pradeep early on with some good bowling. The delivery with which he got Pradeep out caught behind was especially breathtaking.
With the top order dismissed, Purdue once again turned to its old warrior Ashwin. And the man played a gem of an innings. He held his ground and steered Purdue home with some exquisite shots, even though wickets kept falling at the other end. He scored an unbeaten 83, and his runs came in typical Ashwin fashion, ie. Well placed ground strokes and great running between the wickets. Muslim Gymkhana will regret putting his catch down when he was in his 40’s. Kaushik and Amar gave him some good support at the other end.
Muslim Gymkhana players are a great bunch of guys. The three brothers Imran, Rizwan and Kamran, and Afroze in particular are extremely friendly and humble. Sadly there was a very unfortunate incident at the field which has left a bad taste in the mouth of all the Purdue players. With the game just about wrapped up, Faisal Nafasat (the bowler) tried to elbow Ashwin as he was trying to complete a single. He then tried to intentionally bowl a beamer at Ashwin to get him hurt. Fortunately, he missed (by a long way) and the batsman escaped unharmed. I hope people like Faisal keep this kind of stuff off the field. Its one thing to talk trash, but to try and intentionally hurt someone is unwarranted. I’d also like to warn all teams to think twice before brining your wives and kids to the ground while Farhat is around. The man seemed to care little about two middle school kids from his own team (I think they were Shezad’s kids), as he went on hurling F-bombs at Ashwin, even after the game concluded.
There were some calls that could have gone either way, but overall the umpire did a pretty good job. Must have been a very hectic day for him too!
why dont you guys be honest what the hell happen there those calls can go only one way and ashwin admited as well after the game so why dont you tell the truth and whole story dont just point finger at muslim like that. btw he did a heck of battin no doubt but we got him like 3 or 4 time thanks to umpire that you guys won if it wasnt for umpire you guys wouldnt even come that close and the whole fasial and farhat you talking about who started that everything let me answer that it was aswin.if he was such a good sports man why didnt he walk out when he was caught behind but no worries we will see you again sometime soon.
Match Summary - Rogers Park vs. Flames RESULT - Rogers Park Won by 45 runs ---------------------------------- On a breezy day in Washington Park, Rogers Park were put in to bat first by the Flames. the scoring rate was aggressive from the begining as Shiraz (19) and Kamran (33)got off to quick starts. Our team displayed a complete team performance with the bat as five other players scored in the mid 20's, namely, Nasir, Affan, Sufian, Mohtasim and Zeeshan. We ended up with a score of 249 in 45 overs with 33 being the highest score. The Flames made a couple of great plays in the field - Nasir was run out by a direct hit from midwicket and Fahad took a splendid diving catch to dismiss Kamran.
In pursuit of 250, Flames lost one of their key batsmen, Dr Rafiq, in the first over thanks to a lovely inswinging yorker from Affan. Kiran was the next batsmen in and Nasir right away introduced spin. Faraz struck with the wicket of Kiran in his first over thanks to great catch from our keeper, Bilal. Venkat then played some attractive strokes before he was bowled by Faraz. Tariq, Moyeed and Ananth put up some meaningful partnerships but in the end fell short by 45 runs. Nasir ended up with 3 wkts, I ended up with 2 wkts and Faraz was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 26 for 2 in his 9 overs.
It was a well fought game by both teams and was a great win for us as a team. Good Luck to the Flames in their remaining games.
Cover drive, Here r the direction that we got when we visited them:
Take 55-70 South/West towards St.Louis Exit at 270 West Take Exit 9 -- Towards SIUE/Edwardsville (I-157) Turn Right on 157....continue for about a Mile.... Turn Left at Stadium Drive..... Cricket Pitch would be on the Left in Stadium Drive (Right by the Korte Complex -- Base ball stadium -- they share the parking lot)
First of all, since its quite obvious "big bertha" is one of our guys, I apologize on his behalf for his post, in particular for his unnecessary criticism of certain people's actions in a public forum like this. At the same time, I want to clarify that whatever that was stated in mini tango's post is completely untrue. We know what exactly happened and what the truth is. There is no point in going on and on about each of our versions of the happenings. I do not want to get into a mud slinging contest here. Lets leave it at that!
Hopefully, the next time we play we can put all of this behind us and have a game without any of the cricket unrelated drama. Till then, wish you the best for your season!
Minitango: Boy I need to enroll myself into the "Muslim Gymkhana School of Reasoning" to appreciate the unique way in which your brain functions. You think the Umpire messed up, so you attack a player. Thats a little hard for me understand. Anyway as Ashwin said, lets put this behind us, but don't expect any apologies from me.
On a separate note, Farhat mentioned to me yesterday during the first innings that the size of the Purdue ground should be reduced as per ICC regulations. He mentioned that the boundaries should not exceed 65 yards on either side.
Here's the actual rule. =================================== a. The playing area shall be a minimum of 150 yards square of the wicket with no boundary less than 65 yards. When this minimum is used the pitch has to be a minimum of 85 yards from the opposite boundary. The straight boundary shall be a minimum of 70 yards at both ends. All distances shall be measured from the centre of the pitch to be used.
c. On grounds with large playing areas, the maximum length of boundary should be used provided that no boundary shall measure more than 90 yards from the centre of the pitch. http://www.cricketeurope4.net/DATABASE/ARTICLES/articles/000050/005063.shtml ==================================
The boundaries at Purdue measure 75 yards on the sides and 72 yards straight, and fall well within ICC's maximum ground size constraint of 90 yards.
I’d also like to warn all teams to think twice before brining your wives and kids to the ground while Farhat is around =============================
Inst Farhat the same guy who dropped his pants last year? I guess he can never take losing a game?
I think league should be handling these incidents more seriously where players act immaturely or criminally in cricket fields. I guess something to be discussed in next AGM in addition to the chucking issuee..
AAA vs. Milwaukee C.C.- Milwaukee Won a very close battle.
AAA were fielding first and were in trouble. Milwaukee started of quickly by putting 90 or so by break. AAA took control and got Milwaukee 212 all out in 43 overs. AAA were up to bat and they quickly lost Sadiq and Asif. Abdul and Adam carried the team along way. Putting in a partnership over 100 they brought AAA back in the game. At brake AAA had 70 runs left with 23 overs in hand and only 2 wickets were down. Milwaukee were almost to face the biggest upset of the season but they proved why they are number one. Abdul was dismissed shortly after the break with LBW. The umpire gave 3-4 LBW’s and that cost us the game. Hafiz Adam Menk and Abdul put on a brilliant performance to no avail. Hafiz Adam Menk scored 112 and Abdul scored 34. The rest of AAA collapsed and were all out with 9 overs in hand. AAA lost by 16 runs putting up only 196. AAA were 175 for 3 but after the dismissal of Abdul and Adam it was downhill from there. We almost pulled of an upset but we fell short. A good thing was ADAM scored his first century but AAA lost. Bilal took 4 wickets but the umpire was the deciding factor in the game. Giving a couple LBW’s that were clearly not out cost AAA the game and AAA needs to step up. Many staring players were not present. Imran Taylor and Haroon Pooli were not in attendance. Great fielding Hamza Patel and AAA lost a great battle.
Hanif puts ip aother big score of 83 and Lucky scoored around 300 or so and Chicag Acers were out under 200. Chicago Acers have a great hitter. Sajid Patel a 19 year old hammered a quick 44 with 4 sixes and a couple fours. Watch out for him hes dangerous
Giants lost again... But you know the hypocrites on the blog picked them for the finals which is possible but when ICC loses we not good when Giants and other team loses "cricket is a leveler" or "cricket is a game of glorious uncertainties" or "Cricket anyone can lose on any given day"... I tell you.. Its all good
Jolly Rovers Vs ICC ICC bat first Collins 53, Shekhar I think 40+, George 30+ and everyone else chipped in.. ICC was 66 for 1 after 8 overs and we lost a bit at one point and after 20 overs were 135 I think for 4 but rup Shekhar and george help us get to 238 in 40. Jolly rovers never really made a start and they were bowl out for 130. Rup took 5 and Youdeo took 4... Nice solid win ICC... but we have a lot of work to do in the remaining matches
Madew, What up buddy? I'll try to make it tonite for your game....but I can't promise.. I think it'll be asking for trouble after I played yesterday and I'll be playing tomorrow...if you know what I'm saying..
Challengers Vs MUCC Whitewater – 07/22/2007 Challengers won by around 100 runs (IIRC)
MUCC won the toss and invited Challengers to bat..
Challengers took off from the word go..
Darshan was back in his destructive form as the opening pair put about 56 in 6 overs. Darshan was caught behind for a brilliant 32. In came Dax, played his usual cameo knock…made a quick 35, was bowled by a beauty of an off cutter (I believe the bowler was shashi), must have cut in at least a foot.
Mahesh came in and kept the scoreboard ticking at a healthy rate, and then went about his usual hitting rampage with 3 sixes in an over at one stage…got run out for 76.
We brought our own Sachin this time, who slaughtered an effortless 40.
Bhavesh came in an made a quick 50 off of 20 odd balls.
Challengers posted a massive 361, with contributions from everybody.
MUCC started very good, both Badri and Sharath looked threatening by posting 60 odd runs in 8 overs. Darshan got us the breakthrough by trapping Sharath LBW. We got Badri out soon and also the one down batsman. Bunty came in and piled some runs along with AJ. The had about 50 odd runs partnership. After Bunty got out to a swinging Yorker from Tushar, MUCC did not put much of a fight. Their last pair managed to score 40-50 runs and hung around till 41(IIRC) overs and made our lives miserable.
I think they ended up scoring 250 odd runs.
It was a good win for Challengers and most importantly, the batting seems like its shaping up at the right time.
Thanks MUCC for being a good host, and thanks for the delicious sandwiches…
Congrats on the big win. 361 is a mammoth score! Damn!
Hopefully today's game will be a cracker vs Pak Gym, and not a damp squid. By the way, what is the plan for the remainder of your game vs Pak Gym? That really is looking like a cracker so far!
Adi, Welcome back..! I thought you'd turn up for the LA Open.. :-) Yeah, we surprised ourselves with a huge score. It was fun playing yesterday....Whitewater is a batting paradise... :-) Did you go anywhere else in Mexico or just went to Tijuana?
Couldn't make it to the LA Open (much as I wanted to) coz the blased Mexican embassy in Chicago couldn't get their act straight. Over 4 weeks and they couldn't get the visa done. So had to go to the one in San Diego and they did it in 24 hours!!
Though, On the flight down, I was on the same plane as Adnan, Faisal, Ruchir, and a couple of the other United guys. Faisal and I chatted the entire time. Got a lot of info on the league and the history! That was as close as I came to cricket for the last 10 days.
Purdue guys should stop complaining. Management doesn't take such issues seriously. Farhat especially gets diplomatic immunity, as he is considered to be Tariq's retarded cousin.
And with that win we are at position 20. It has been an arduous task going from position 26 to 22 and now to 20. I don’t know if it is Subbu’s 6 for or our tribal huddle that unsettled the Tigers. We surely got a kick out of it. Hopefully we will get our groves back to end the season respectfully. Tigers have an interesting bowler, Sunil. People who know me know that I have a lot of patience. But to play him I needed to nitro boost my patience to the next level. My misery ended when the umpire finally gave me out. There are two organizations which will definitely look at the legality of his bowling. One, the FAA, for I am sure he definitely has no approved flight plan for his deliveries. And two, the NASCAR, because of its speed or the dearth of it. Tigers is a good team. Kudos to their kapitan for encouraging all the young players.
congratulations on your win, your move up the charts, and your amusing assessment of Sunil's bowling! It would be a wonderful season if you guys can make the playoffs, and even get to the finals from here! Good luck.
Aditya, 5 lossess is the cap for a playoff berth in Div 2, although I believe 1 team made it to the playoffs couple of years ago with 6 lossess. Sadiq can give better stats :)
We have to win all of our remaining games to equal our last years win/loss record. We did not make the playoffs with a 8-6 record last year.
As Preetam put it, we are looking forward to ending our season respectfully.
Well, good luck to you guys. Winning the remainder of the games on the trot will be challenging, but I hope you guys manager, and maybe you'll get lucky with the playoffs. It'll make for a great story over the next few years.
Hey Adi, Tango, shekhs and all bloggers, How's it going guys? Adi,las esposas de habla hispana son las mejores. Eres muy afortunado. Tango, how was your weekend? Shekhs, I HAVE to make it to one of dem blog parties. OK,Adi, its your turn to make the predictions. Pick a game this week and go for individual scores, interesting wagers, etc.
Pak-Gym vs Horizon..Night game Played on 23rd July 07..Hanover park..
It was a beautiful evening for a great night game. Temps were perfect in their 80 or so. Both team were on time but umpire was no where to be seen. Umpire assigned (according to the website) was there on the ground but he wasn't the assigned umpire? We had little delay in finding out who was umpiring. Nasir from Flames was kind and agreed to umpire the game. It was very nice of him to oblige at the last minute. Game got delayed about 10-15 mins but it was worth the wait!Aditya and Rashid went in for the toss and Aditya called it incorrectly. So, Pak-gym decided to bat!
Bowling honors for Horizon were started by Rup and Priyank. Bakshi and Hasan were at the crease facing these two bowlers. Rup and Priyank caught a good line, score rate was going at 6-7 runs an over. Both Bakshi and Hasan were playing very sensibly just rotating the strike for 1's and 2's getting odd boundaries. Priyank was in a good rythm and he was first to see his overs thru on the trot. After Rup bowled his 2 over for 17 runs he took break and Jack came to replace him. Jack too along with Priyank was bowling very well with a quite a good pace, bowling full, not giving any room for the batsmen. At the end of 8 overs or so they were 70 odd runs for no loss. At this point both Hasan and Bakshi were trying to accelarate but bowlers were not ready to give away anything. Aditya introduced Madhu replacing Jack from one end and immediately, Madhu got the first break-thru for Team Horizons, a simple catch of Hasan to Aditya at short midwicket. Irfan Sohail came to give company to Bakshi. On the other Kiran Prakash was introduced. Bakshi and Irfan rotated strike and Bakshi holed a catch to backward point of off Kiran, caught by Mitul. Shahid came in to replace Bakshi. Big guns were at the crease now for Pak. Both Irfan and Shahid played with urgency. Both Madhu and Kiran plugged away but high skier catches into the hands were dropped. It is very difficult to judge those high skiers under the red lights. But Shahi and Irfan just plugged into game plans hitting boundaries not detered by dropped catches. Both made quick fire knocks. Madhu got prized wicket of Shahid caught by Mitul at the long off boundary. Farman came to give company to Irfan. He too was caught quickly off of madhu at country by Mitul again. On the other end Kiran got other prized wicket of Irfan caught by Rup. Every time there was a missed catch was atleast a boundary was being scored. Athreya was brough in to check the run flow and he did a great job mixing his faster, tossed up deliveres. A spectacular running-back catch by Vijay SP in Athreya bowling resulted another wicket. Rashid and Imran were at the crease at this point, they couldn't muster any boundaries, but ran sensibly for 1's and 2's to take the final score to 173 in 20 overs. Jack had the best economy of all bowlers. Athreya was good too mixing it well. Horizon gave away about 20-30 runs more than they should due to fielding lapses. But, hey that's part of the game. Work is cut out for the Horizon batsmen and its long batting line up! 10 runs an over is very doable. Team Horizon was very optimistic of run chase!
Collins and Mitul started the batting honors for Horizon. First ball of the innings was dispatched to mid-off for 2 runs. In the second ball wicket resulted in clean bowled of Collins. Athreya went in to join Mitul. Mitul and Athreya rotated the strike well for about 6 runs an over or so for couple overs. Athreya trying to open up try to cut hard Farman out swinger, got caugh at slip. Madhu went in to join Mitul. Madhu and Mitul went about bringing back Horizon into target chasing contention. Madhu was playing alround the wicket and Mitul rotating the strike when ever possible, running hard for 1's and 2's. Pak bowlers were bowling very well, not giving much room and keep the ball full most of the time and drivable. Both Madhu and Mitul plugged away still getting 8 runs an over or so, odd boundaries, keept the score card ticking. At 10 overs mark score read about 85 odd. At this point Mitul decided to accelarate and got LBw. Aditya, the start of last game joined Madhu in the middle. They rotated the strike as much as possible, ran hard between the wickets. Odd boundaries were coming in, but weren't frequent. At 15 over mark Horizon need 55 runs and still 7 wickets in hand. Aditya decided to gave it a go and got stumped in Bakshi's bowling. Big hitter rup came in to bring Horizon back in contention. Unfortunately, the first ball a faster top spinner castled his stumps. Still we had plenty of batting to come. Madhu was tight on one end and we needed few big hits at this point. Jack came he in, played some strokes but not big enough for maximum runs. BOth Madhu and Jack ran hard, but need of the hour were boundaries. Madhu going for the big one for cleaned bowled in Rashid's bowling. Vijay went to hit out and got caught at deep covers. Horizons challege fizzled out at this poing needing, 30 runs of the final over. Horizons batsmen just couldn't get it home and fell short by 24 runs! It was great game all the way through, well fought and few fielding lapses resulted in loss of Horizon. Its 20/20 game anything can happen and Team Horizon is ready to kick up a notch the next game with Challengers on Aug 14th!
Respect to to whoever your captain is. Sometimes I get a bit jealous watching your team play, because you all seem to be enjoying every bit of the game. Ditto for the Royals. Most captains just want to finish the game as soon as possible and won't give the 'non-regulars' a chance to bowl, even if the batting side has no chance to win the game.
me - Karthik Mecheri (My, College mate, room mate here in US and bestfriend went camp under 14 National camp with vvs)- VVS Laxman - Sachin (Indian Team)
Me - Maninder bola (PCC team mate) - Yuvraj Singh (Played on same team with Yuvi) - Sachin - Indian Team
1. Divert some of those...BCCI funds here for white lights at Hanover park 2. Get a nice turf pitch done! 3. Please make Yuvi play next test as he is inform batsmen and don't seem to find a place on the team for some odd reason(Which I don't understand:) 4. Have full India squad play a best of MWCC one day game here in Chicago:)
Preetam, The original concept came out of a game in the 90s where actors were linked thru Kevin Bacon..I think it was called - Seven degress with Kevin Bacon.
Just eyeballed some of the stuff above real quick. Does it have to be a link to sachin? In that case, me- anjali (colleague in pediatrics)-sachin. or me- santosh bangar (my past med student and sanjay's brother)- sanjay bangar-indian team and sachin. I feel like I'm majorly name dropping but it feels good to be connected to sachin (no matter how far fetched) :)
Me is/was/been a little buried at work. Aug 10th will work for me too.
BTW, Me->neighbor in Ahm->Parthiv Patel (i know i know am gonna take shite for that dude but he is my neighbor's sista's kid or something; met him once; almost told him to put on a few more inches and then come talk to me!)->Indian team->sachin.
There you go, Romeen. Talk about far fetched.... Now beat that ! :)
Rockers Vs. Challengers Abid Lahiri Tourney - o7/24/2007
Challengers won by 9 wickets
Rockers won the toss and decided to bat. Dax and Sanjay were right on target, didn't give any room whatsoever to the batsmen. Rockers lost their openers in the first 2 overs, kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Rockers were bundled out for 67. Bhavesh picked 4, Nilesh 2, Daxx 2 and Sanjay 2 (IIRC).
In Reply Darshan started of with a bang taking 17 of the first over, but got caught behind in the next one. Tushar and Bhavesh finished it in 7 overs.
Guys this morning I was watching India tv news and I was little surprised when I saw good 15 news abt L.A Open.......It was on both Headline Today and Aaj Tak...
There was interview of Viru,Kalu,Zyosa,Vijay Amritraj and others too.
Alpesh said... Was looking at Div 2 weekly summary ...
Chicago giants has written 'unsportsman conduct by CCI' .. Can somebody from Giants/ CCI explain this ???
We did not wanted to say anything as bu I will take a stab at it because I wanted to warn teams that will be playing them this year such as Springfield, Acers, Jaguars, Collinsville, WS XI and Advancers.
#1 CCI's Argument With Umpire.
CCI won the toss and decided to bat. CCI Skipper and other team members where verbally abusing Umpire Suresh. CCI claims that they were frustrated with LBW decision given against them. This argument CCI vs Umpire Suresh against went on for good 15 mins on the ground. Then they accused Suresh which we met for the first time to be a bias official. Last I heard was that umpire was planning on writing them up and filing a complain against CCI.
#2 CCI Sledging Chicago Giants Players.
Now I have played cricket for some time but have never had seen a team that uses Personal Taunting and Bashing as a Strategy to disrupt batsman. When Giants went to bat CCI being still frustrated that one LBW went against them started taking there frustration on Giants players by calling them names and stooped as low as calling the batsman MFckr, Cannot Bat for Shit, Pussy etc etc etc etc etc.
This caused the game to stop 5-10 times for good 10 mins each. Not a good way to play cricket. CCI claims that Sledging is legal which I agree but personal comments and swearing is by no means part of this beautiful game.
For teams that will play CCI: My suggestion is to watch out for few of these players.
*Imran Khan *Manu Sharma - The worst one of all *Martin Aka Chanak Rebel - Aussie Keeper who will be talking even when bowlers is bowling. *Tanweer Alam *Safdar Khan - Father of skipper Imran and even worse than him. *Saharsh Parekh - Slip Fielder similar to Martin.
Summary: CCI start of ok but if they get the game in there favor even 60/40 they go berzerk with Sledging aka Verbal Abuse.
As a rule a fielder cannot move sideways or talk after the bowler starts his runup. Dont you think so ? We have played CCI a few times but never seemed to have a problem. Something must have changed.
BTW, if you guys wondering, why and how did the sledging affect the Giants players? Well, three of our players - uncharacteristically - went for sixes when we clearly had the game and the required run-rate under control (needed ~45 runs in last 13 overs.
Foul mouthed CCI players!!!!!!! Makes one wonders what the learning curve is at their college. Or they have taken a page of the Aussies book. but then??? WTF??? If you can't handle a few MF's then go to the little league.
BTW, if you guys wondering, why and how did the sledging affect the Giants players? Well, three of our players - uncharacteristically - went for sixes when we clearly had the game and the required run-rate under control (needed ~45 runs in last 13 overs.
While I am not condoning the actions of these CCI players, its quiet illogical for you to blame the loss on 'abuses'. It just proves that Giants aren't mentally strong enough in difficult situations, and will have a hard time winning close games. If I were set to play the Gaints sometime soon, I will definitely try to get on their nerves and rattle them a bit. Though I won't use profanity.
I agree with Tango on this one too. If sledging, however bad it is, can cause you to lose a game, then expect a lot of it! Chicago Giants is a good team. Don't let that bother you. The best thing you can do is be calm, and frustrate the hell out of them by taking singles. And once you've hit the winning runs, maybe a friendly word or two to inform them of the impotency of their game might help soothe your nerves! Or maybe just the fact that you beat them.
When I'm batting, and if I hear anything from a fielder, from behind the wicket, or some untoward movement, I back away immediately. It is more frustrating to the bowler and the fielders learn soon enough. Plus, I know some umpires have called no-balls for such activities. Just turn around and walk away! Better to be there for another ball, than to get out because you're distracted.
- I never spoke while the bowler was running in. - As far as I can recall no one called anyone a MF, I know I didn’t. - The game only stopped twice for a total of about 10 minutes.
Sledging is part of game. Our comments were about our perception of the batsmen’s cricketing ability: mental, physical and technical. The LBW decision in our innings had nothing to with the sledging. fast_eddy’s comment illustrates why it’s done.
I think most of the gripping coming from Giants stems from the fact they got beaten by a team that going into the match they thought they could comfortably roll.
@Chanaka_Rebel Out of curiosity, what is physical sledging? Are you telling me you will sledge depending on the size, weight of the batsman? Or have I understood it wrong.
Sundries you understand correctly, for example. I would let my teammates know (loud enough that the batsmen could hear) if I didn’t think the batsmen could hit the ball hard enough to pierce the field or that the 2 he just ran left him breathless. In both cases I’m trying to get the batsmen to play a risky expansive stroke, the first one because he wants to prove me wrong and in the second because I want him to think the only way he can last for a long innings is to score mainly in boundaries.

I have read all the comments from the LA open thread including the request for a poll. It is a pain for me to type with one hand, so will wait for Aditya to return to put up the poll. Good luck to all teams.
Dont forget Pak Vs Horizon on Mon night.

3.IIT
4.Chicago Giants
For Div 1.......

Who will be the highest wicket taker and highest run getter this week ? Div 1 and Div 2.
Jolly Rovers Illinois Cricket Club Illinois Cricket Club
Jaguars IIT IIT

Madison Cricket Continental Madison Cricket Club
Chicago Acers Lucky XI Lucky XI
Universal Collinsville Club Collinsville Club
Warriors Advancers Advancers
Raiders SIUE Cricket Club SIUE Cricket Club
Eagles Tigers Eagles
CCI Chicago Giants Chicago Giants
Evanston West Suburban XI Evanston
Peoria Cricket Chicago Cricket Club Peoria Cricket Club
All I will say Div 2 is not done or close to be settled yet.. Trust me
In the earlier threads there was lot of talk about schedules easy/tough.
So which teams in Div II has easy schedule and which has tough schedule and why do you think so?
Honest opinion..only
The easiest I'll say in Div 2 ....
1.Chicago Giants
2.CCI
3.Jolly Rovers
4.Q.C.Kings
5.Springfield
b4 we can analyze any schedules we should take into condideration last yrs Div-2 standings then will get correct analysis then
We (Arsenal) have played Peoria, Illinois, Tigers, Eagles, Raiders, Madison, Warriors (whom we lost too, so they batter than us!), West Suburban, Universal.
Rescheduled Game - Flames vs. Rogers Park
------------------------
Just a note to everyone that this game which was rescheduled from a couple weeks ago will be played this Saturday in Washington Park.
Regards,
Asmar

7.MCC-AAA.(i don't know who to pick in this game what the heck i take AAA cause asif is not there to help MCC).
did anyone check the Xferred players list wtf goin on with pak why they Xferred abdul raoof for 1 match & pay $100 and then send him back to where he belong.
j_4_all,
You came to LA with us didnt you?
when is dead line of Xferred players is there one at all or we can lobby and grab all the best blokes out there who feel there is no chance of making to playoffs with their current teams WTF?
no i dont like to kiss ass & i am not rich like u sheks but maybe next year if i save enough money.
well, its nothing to do with kissing ass or being rich...and I'm not believe me...I wish I was..
not a lot of folks know that Asif's out of town..you either play for MCC or you were there in LA.. :-)
P_b_2_g the deadline was july 15.
well buddy u living in a diffrent world if u think that nobody knows that asif is out of town well all i can say is that my eyes, ears & brain is always open except when i am drunk or having sex.
well, then you must be pretty well informed..
I was just messing with you..but thanks for the extra details..
:-)
Can the main or 3rd umpire reverse the decision?
that my eyes, ears & brain is always open except when i am drunk or having sex.
========================
LOL LOL
If you close your ears, eyes, and brain while having sex....i guess somebody is really giving it to you~~
I don't think Swetal was crying...no matter what the results are we all would like to play tough teams.
Samir, u working or watching the game :) ?
Preetam, welcome to the blog.
Sammer bhai,
As long as .. true decision is given at the end ... in case of catches ... umpires reversing the decisions should be fine ...
Also as per my knowledge .. main umpire can only reverse his decision ...
bole to only main umpire can reverse his decision ...
Rasheed should learn how to keep a team together not just be arrogant!!!
cricketer411 habits die hard dude.
Remember Raheel, what goes around...comes around.
How about what comes out?

Brown and stinky

Dax,
What are you doing this afternoon?
You wanna practice?
"But his team was winning, so no one could say anything."
Tango I dont know where you were .. there was a lot of stuff said. People with chips on their shoulders will say stuff no matter what. Winning and losing is part of the game and getting a Div 1 team all out for 24 is pretty unheard of (as is 4 bowleds in 4 balls - by Shahid) thats why I posted that.
My lack of blogging this year has nothing to do with team performance (I didn't write anything when we won the first few games) and has everything to do with work load and grad school.
Have fun ..
Raheel,
But there has been a sharp change in your demeanor from last year.
"Sorry sir, I am no fool. You shall get what you deserve. And you deserve everything that your getting!"
Few nasty words from people like yourself? I can live with that - by the way I haven't been knighted yet, so hold the 'sir'.

Great! So no more whining from you? No more, "Ohhhh why is everyone picking on me?"
I sure hope so.
And don't worry about the Sir. I even call my dog, Sir Toby II, so its nothing to be proud of.

Purdue beats Muslim Gymkhana in close game.
Must have been a very hectic day for him too!
anyupdates on the div-ii results?
why dont you guys be honest what the hell happen there those calls can go only one way and ashwin admited as well after the game so why dont you tell the truth and whole story dont just point finger at muslim like that. btw he did a heck of battin no doubt but we got him like 3 or 4 time thanks to umpire that you guys won if it wasnt for umpire you guys wouldnt even come that close and the whole fasial and farhat you talking about who started that everything let me answer that it was aswin.if he was such a good sports man why didnt he walk out when he was caught behind but no worries we will see you again sometime soon.
next time win fairly
Can anybody please post the address/direction of SIUE Cricket ground?
I could not find anything at MWCC website.
Thank you
Match Summary - Rogers Park vs. Flames
RESULT - Rogers Park Won by 45 runs
----------------------------------
On a breezy day in Washington Park, Rogers Park were put in to bat first by the Flames. the scoring rate was aggressive from the begining as Shiraz (19) and Kamran (33)got off to quick starts.
Regards,
Asmar

Muslim Gymkhana:
Peace!
Ashwin

===================================
a. The playing area shall be a minimum of 150 yards square of the wicket with no boundary less than 65 yards. When this minimum is used the pitch has to be a minimum of 85 yards from the opposite boundary. The straight boundary shall be a minimum of 70 yards at both ends. All distances shall be measured from the centre of the pitch to be used.
c. On grounds with large playing areas, the maximum length of boundary should be used provided that no boundary shall measure more than 90 yards from the centre of the pitch.
http://www.cricketeurope4.net/DATABASE/ARTICLES/articles/000050/005063.shtml
==================================
The boundaries at Purdue measure 75 yards on the sides and 72 yards straight, and fall well within ICC's maximum ground size constraint of 90 yards.
I’d also like to warn all teams to think twice before brining your wives and kids to the ground while Farhat is around
=============================
Inst Farhat the same guy who dropped his pants last year? I guess he can never take losing a game?
I think league should be handling these incidents more seriously where players act immaturely or criminally in cricket fields. I guess something to be discussed in next AGM in addition to the chucking issuee..
Eagles beat Tigers at Heritage Park.
Batting first Eagles scored 190/9 in 40 overs. Tigers were allout for 120 odd.
a
Luck beat Chciago Acers.
Wow..CCI won against Chicago Giants. Congrats CCI for a great win.
That brings third straight loss for Giants in the away games this year. What does anybody have to say about this, cricket is a great leveler.
Which team is good in away games ?
Giants lost again... But you know the hypocrites on the blog picked them for the finals which is possible but when ICC loses we not good when Giants and other team loses "cricket is a leveler" or "cricket is a game of glorious uncertainties" or "Cricket anyone can lose on any given day"... I tell you..
Its all good
Chally,
what happened to your game with Jolly Rovers? Can you give us an update?
Thanks
Pranav
Jolly Rovers Vs ICC
ICC bat first Collins 53, Shekhar I think 40+, George 30+ and everyone else chipped in..
Hi chally..i don' know who you are and never responded to your comments. So chill out and have fun.
hello, all tranfer members why dont u go back to bears even though u know about ur captain,oh i am sorry u cant cuz time is over
yourstruly I must say I was not referring to you. The hypocrites know who they are... Sorry I should have put a footnote to exclude you.
Chally..i am not offended by that but just clarifying.
I am also talking about the same hypocrites who talk about home advantage and forget that on a given day any team can win or lose.
Especially at our level..travel will definetly impact how you play that day.
Sheks,
What r the updates on y Challengers , MUCC game..?
Cheers
Madhu
Madew,
What up buddy?
I'll try to make it tonite for your game....but I can't promise..
I think it'll be asking for trouble after I played yesterday and I'll be playing tomorrow...if you know what I'm saying..
Match report..coming up.
Challengers Vs MUCC
Whitewater – 07/22/2007
Challengers won by around 100 runs (IIRC)
Shekhs,
Congrats on the big win. 361 is a mammoth score! Damn!
Hopefully today's game will be a cracker vs Pak Gym, and not a damp squid. By the way, what is the plan for the remainder of your game vs Pak Gym? That really is looking like a cracker so far!
Looks like Purdue, Cats, Challengers, and Milw CC are all red hot right now! Maybe those teams are going to be the semi-finalists!
Romeen,
As you can see, I'm back. Was in San Diego and Mexico this past week.
So, lets get back to the prediction game. What's the next game that we should make predictions on?
Adi,

It was a flabbergasting total..that we almost passed out...
Your team has the most unpredictable batting lineup in the league.
Right on the money..Tango..
very unpredictable..
hope we can keep up the form...
Tango,
Did you get out this weekend...any fun stuff?
The usual. Get drunk Friday Night. Get drunk Saturday Night. Recover on Sunday.
you didnt play this weekend?
Don't remember Shekhs.
Come on, don't start this detective thing all over now :)
c'mon man...we need some entertainment...
:-)
Where is n_w?
Have'nt seem him (or is it her :-) )
in a while...
Must've gone to India...
I don't know where he's at. He didn't blog much last week either.
I just realized, Rogers Park have put themselves in a pretty good position to make it to the playoffs.
They are 4-3 right now, and have a pretty friendly schedule in the 2nd half of the season.
Tango,
Only one hot chiquita, but she accompanied me from Chicago! I went to Rosarito and Encinada as well. And hung out in San Diego with friends.
By the way, I like the picture. Kind of helps put a face to the blogger!! :-)
Shekhs,
Couldn't make it to the LA Open (much as I wanted to) coz the blased Mexican embassy in Chicago couldn't get their act straight.
Yeah, Rogers park look pretty good..they seem like a hustling team. Got some young buncha guys...
clicking well..
Gee Thanks Aditya,
And how come only one girl? Next time you should take Romeen with you. He speaks fluent Spanish and is a chick magnet.
Tango,
Only one girl coz now I am bound to her for life! But I don't mind, coz she is a hot Chiquita!
As far as Romeen is concerned, we can't even get him to come to LA, forget going to Mexico!
Paging Dr. Lavani.........
Damn..Romeen's gotta hang out with Romeen...
Adi, glad you had a good time..
Aditya I didn't know you were married.
Romeen's totally swamped...I talked to him on friday..
Swetal and I went to the Alumni club on Friday...it was fun...
We should go there for our blog party..
As far as playoffs are concerned, RP is looking really good for the playoffs!
Right now, the only sure bets look like Milw CC, Cats, Challengers, St Louis, and Purdue.
But I think United should be there soon, and then it's up to RP, Muslim, Pak, Phoenix (Ok, I'm optimistic) for the last 2 spots!
Yup. Happily for the last 3 years.
Hey Farhat pulled another Farhat this weekend.
Purdue guys should stop complaining. Management doesn't take such issues seriously. Farhat especially gets diplomatic immunity, as he is considered to be Tariq's retarded cousin.
We haven't heard Muslim's side of the story though...
Any Muslim guys around?
This should be fun.
Kudos to their kapitan for encouraging all the young players.
preetam,
congratulations on your win, your move up the charts, and your amusing assessment of Sunil's bowling! It would be a wonderful season if you guys can make the playoffs, and even get to the finals from here! Good luck.
Aditya,
5 lossess is the cap for a playoff berth in Div 2, although I believe 1 team made it to the playoffs couple of years ago with 6 lossess.
Hey Adi, Tango, shekhs and all bloggers,
How's it going guys?
Adi,las esposas de habla hispana son las mejores. Eres muy afortunado.
Tango,how was your weekend?
Shekhs, I HAVE to make it to one of dem blog parties.
OK,Adi, its your turn to make the predictions. Pick a game this week and go for individual scores, interesting wagers, etc.

Tough loss man...
You guys put up a good fight...good job..!
Signing off!
Madhu Reddy
Team Horizon
Shekhs,
I see you have a very generous captain. Everyone in your team got to bat or bowl this weekend :)
Never seen that before.
Buchia bhai chawi wala...!
Very generous indeed...everyone except mahesh bowled..
If you have 361 under your belt...I think most captains will be generous... :-)
the few non regulars bowled at he end...thus letting the tail wag for MUCC for a while... :-)
One correction to Madhu's synopsis. Priyank opened the batting, not Mitul.
Shekhs,
Respect to to whoever your captain is.
No doubt it..
Bhavesh is very considerate when it comes to his players...
He had no reason to let me open considering the dreadful batting record I've had in division 2...
he just trusted me and everyone else..
I dont think a lot of captains or even teams would do that..
Aiite...its really boring now..
Here is a game..
Have you guys heard of the seven levels of acting (IIRC) with Kevin Bacon?
You need to link a given actor to Kevin Bacon within 7 shots/ levels..
We can play that in cricket..
Link any given player to Sachin Tendulkar (since he is been around for 18 years) in 7 shots..
anybody in?
I don't get it
Sheks..
Me-My Dad-Sharad Pawar-Indian Team :)
Good one Jaggi...
Did you get it now Tango?
You need to link the given person..say Tango..
Tango -> xyz - > abc -> Sachin..
Ian Chappell -> Greg Chappell -> Sachin
Link Gary Sobers to Sachin..
Shekhs,
Me-Jaggi-Jaggi's Dad-Sharad Pawar-Indian Team. :)
Shekhs,
Wouldn't that be something like:
Sobers-Desy Haynes-Lara-Kapil-Sachin?
The Lara Kapil connection is now due to the new Indian Cricket League!
there you go...we know you're a smart ass.. :-)
yeah, that would make sense..
The link should be - played together or against in a game at least once..
like De Haynes and Lara probably played in one international game...
that's the link..
Tango - St.Xaviers - 664 run partnership by two cricketers from Shardashram - Kambli 349* - Sachin 326* :)
ohh, but I never played Shekhs.
How about WG Grace and Sachin?
I'm going to get back to stick cricket
me - Karthik Mecheri (My, College mate, room mate here in US and bestfriend went camp under 14 National camp with vvs)- VVS Laxman - Sachin (Indian Team)
Me - Maninder bola (PCC team mate) - Yuvraj Singh (Played on same team with Yuvi) - Sachin - Indian Team
Do these sound okay Sheks.>.:)
Cheers
Madhu
WG Grace -> Wilfred Rhodes->Ivan Barrow -> Len Hutton -> Colin Cowdrey -> Ian Chappell -> Alan Border -> Sachin
That sounds good Madew...
:-)
I spent some time in history finding the link between WG Grace and Sachin..some classic matches within the 7 levels.. :-)
Jaggi..
Now that we know ur link to Mr. Power..can any of us play for Indian Team..hehe..:) or Atleast do you have say in the selecion matters...
Cheers
Madhu
Yeah...Jaggi...any strings that can be pulled.. :-)
I dont have any strings to pull in midwest selection matters, u think I will have any at the Indian team level? :)
On a serious note, I am exploring an opportunity to see what can be done for our league. Keeping my fingers(albeit broken) crossed.
Playing connection:
me-vinod bommaiah(currently wildcats, teammates during Tigers days)-Rahul Dravid(Vinod and Dravid played for St Josephs and Under-15)-Sachin
Jaggi..
Can we have a wish list here please:
1. Divert some of those...BCCI funds here for white lights at Hanover park
2. Get a nice turf pitch done!
3. Please make Yuvi play next test as he is inform batsmen and don't seem to find a place on the team for some odd reason(Which I don't understand:)
4. Have full India squad play a best of MWCC one day game here in Chicago:)
Please feel free to add to this list...:)
Me - Sanjay ( My school friend, who had an altercation with Sachin when they came to play a Ranji trophy match in Baroda) - Sachin
Hmmmn!
Me-Lachchi( VPRaju)- Sachin.
There is a documentary on the same logic "My date with Drew Barymore" or something lke that.
wish list continued....
5> Bring Punjab Blues here...and get a couple of wickets, so that we can say "Next patient please...."
:-)
Preetam,
The original concept came out of a game in the 90s where actors were linked thru Kevin Bacon..I think it was called - Seven degress with Kevin Bacon.

Shekhs, doing fine...I travel every week. I read the blog often...Victory is a good feeling...more so for us this year :)
Shall we plan a blog party in the next few weeks? ...on friday's please.
Shekhs, I'll try.
1. me -Sridharan Sriram - Sachin
2. me - Sadagoppan Ramesh - Sachin
hey good shot guys...good to see you guys around..
:-)
Sure Ram, why dont you go ahead and take a lead on the next blog party..
Just let us know time and venue..
Romeen,
Did you ever go out with Anjali? :-)
Aug 3rd Friday, Prairie Rock in Schaumburg at 8PM
OR
we can go for bowling/pool (place TBD)
what do u think?
I'd love to go bowling/pool ...
lets leave it to the bloggers..
Aug 3rd is going to be tough for me, but you guys can go ahead..
we can do Aug 10th...
any bloggers for bowling/pool?
I will be deeply involved in the world of diapers, feeding bottles. I will be back to civilization sometime in end of Aug.
Bowling/pool is a good idea.
Jaggi,
when's the new arrival?
I didnt know that.
Congrats!
Ram, I think I'm up for aug 10th
I'm in for aug 10 as well...
Swetal Bhau...kem cho?

shekhs,
Me is/was/been a little buried at work. Aug 10th will work for me too.
BTW,
Me->neighbor in Ahm->Parthiv Patel (i know i know am gonna take shite for that dude but he is my neighbor's sista's kid or something; met him once; almost told him to put on a few more inches and then come talk to me!)->Indian team->sachin.
There you go, Romeen. Talk about far fetched.... Now beat that ! :)
Jaggi there are ways you can escape doing diapers and stuff :)
first kid, eh?
I can beat that swet.
Just say me- swetal-and the rest of the link you sent!
I'm not sure if I wanna be linked to parthiv patel, even if its through you :)
Was looking at Div 2 weekly summary ...
Chicago giants has written 'unsportsman conduct by CCI' .. Can somebody from Giants/ CCI explain this ???
Rockers Vs. Challengers
Abid Lahiri Tourney - o7/24/2007
CONGRATULATIONS JAGGI.
Guys this morning I was watching India tv news and I was little surprised when I saw good 15 news abt L.A Open.......It was on both Headline Today and Aaj Tak...
There was interview of Viru,Kalu,Zyosa,Vijay Amritraj and others too.
We are in the "waiting" mode at this point. The due date is 28th :) and yes, first baby. Thanks for the wishes guys.
probably first time in the history of the blogs there has been no comments posted for over 2 hours during day time on weekday
And you broke that record... :-)
What up man..?

*Imran Khan
*Manu Sharma - The worst one of all
*Martin Aka Chanak Rebel - Aussie Keeper who will be talking even when bowlers is bowling.
*Tanweer Alam
*Safdar Khan - Father of skipper Imran and even worse than him.
Tango,
Are you playing the Giants this year? :-)
Just a few clarifications:
- I never spoke while the bowler was running in.
- As far as I can recall no one called anyone a MF, I know I didn’t.
- The game only stopped twice for a total of about 10 minutes.
Sledging is part of game. Our comments were about our perception of the batsmen’s cricketing ability: mental, physical and technical. The LBW decision in our innings had nothing to with the sledging. fast_eddy’s comment illustrates why it’s done.
I think most of the gripping coming from Giants stems from the fact they got beaten by a team that going into the match they thought they could comfortably roll.
Shekhs, nah, was a hypothetical situation.
If I were playing the Gaints, I would have used this as a 'secret weapon' ;)
Tango,
I was trying to get something out of you..
you playing this weekend?
Shekhs, Yes....now you know I'm telling the truth, don't you?
Oh yeah..I believe you like I believe in Santa Claus...
@Chanaka_Rebel
Out of curiosity, what is physical sledging? Are you telling me you will sledge depending on the size, weight of the batsman? Or have I understood it wrong.
--Narasimha
Sundries you understand correctly, for example. I would let my teammates know (loud enough that the batsmen could hear) if I didn’t think the batsmen could hit the ball hard enough to pierce the field or that the 2 he just ran left him breathless. In both cases I’m trying to get the batsmen to play a risky expansive stroke, the first one because he wants to prove me wrong and in the second because I want him to think the only way he can last for a long innings is to score mainly in boundaries.
hello mates,
haven't been around much. out of town for while. how you all doing?
chanake_rebel,
so serious thinking bro. you should put that effort into cricket. you might win couple games more atleast.
n_w,
what up maan?

aah....got lucky...
so where did you go?
