In Miller and Stuart they have 2 former internationals who are now mid-30s, bowlers like Wayne Holdsworth I remember well (very very fast, Aussie national side contender... but that was 10 years ago, he is now like 38 years old!) etc

So whats wrong with players that are in their 30's? :)
I think they can kick butt!

neanderthal_walking said...

so who is representing MWCC in LA open?

Shekhs said...

Oh yeah...!!!

30's rock!!!
:-)

I can vouch for the kicking butt part...!!

DeepDownWithin said...

after a long vacation/break, Vetti is back. Wonderful to see all the conversation. Tango.. management, what management?? It will be an overwhelming "bad" response. If the freakin LA open team cannot be announced so far, what the heck can they do? Where is the promised audited financial report? where is the new and improved website? who is paying for president's weekly flights to come to chicago to play? Look at how badly the night tournament has been organized so far(not blaming shiraz for this..)... I can go on.

DeepDownWithin said...

shek.. where is the party???? Somewhere around Schaumburg, I hope. There is a hookah bar on golf road(by golf and higgins). Smoke hookah, drink beer and talk cricket.. how good is that?????

Shekhs said...

Vetti,
Can't get better than that...see that's what I'm talking about..

But, Vetti, we have to respect the non-smokers, I dont know how many are willing to sit around the hookah and take all that passive smoking...

Aditya said...

Romeen,

Your ass is tall grass, and I'm the lawn mower!

Now, what do you mean by interesting? Coz, either way, you're going down my friend!

Milwaukee is the only place we can do that. I think we should have set up our own 20/20 tourny couple of weekends ago at milwaukee lincoln park ground. Thats probably the closest we could come to conditions there.
---------

Or else pick a side with a few Milwaukee players, who are used to the conditions already? ;-) I can see picking a pretty reasonable MCC all-star side with Asif, Wade, Romesh Kadlec and Bhavneet in it... and maybe Kabir too. All of those guys should be used to the conditions, anyway!

The other thing is, maybe go there a day early to practice on those wickets. A lot of people have played turf-cricket back home anyway, it isnt like its *totally* alien to players, a days practice could help sufficiently.

Aditya said...

Sadiq, the aussies are so fit, their 30+ cricketers field better than most of our Indian team. So, I would take the age point with a pinch of salt in this case!

I think the West Indian side will be a good one. They are my favorites for this tournament, but the South Asian side does look very strong!

Aditya said...

As far as the turf pitches are concerned, I think there are a few options if some thought were put into it.

I dont' think you pick your players based on the pitch. That's like saying, "We don't want not-for-profit status for MWCC, because then we'd have to make the books public!"

Aditya said...

ice_cold,

I don't think N_W plays for Muslim. He plays for another team in Div 1.

Does Muslim have any Gujju players?

Unknown said...

Hey Shekhs, can we meet somewhere close to downtown? We'll have a wide range of places to pick from.

Unknown said...

Adi, I like the analogy !
And unfortunately, I dont have a comeback for it!
But only time will tell.

Anonymous said...

Aditya said...

Romeen,

Your ass is tall grass, and I'm the lawn mower!

Now someone can interpret this in a very, very wrong and SICK way!

Raheel said...

I remember Wayne Holdsworth too, he was easily 90+ mph and used to open the bowling with Mcgrath at NSW. I think he was in the Ashes squad that went to England in 93-94 (where Warne unleashed the Gatting-ball and all) but wasn't picked for any tests.

Anonymous said...

Aditya, no more analogies from you please. At least for today!

Aditya said...

Tango, you mind is always in the wrong place! I will refrain from analogies based on your request!!!

Unknown said...

If Holdsworth was that good a decade ago, I'm sure he can trouble any young turks currently.
I think if you've played a decent level at any stage in your life, you can still come back several years later and turn it on.

Unknown said...

Trust Tango to come up with that!
Now I have to walk around with that image in my head all day! :)

Shekhs said...

Romeen,
I'd love to be around downtown area...why dont you pick a place?
I dont get to go there very often...so dont know many places around there..

Aditya said...

Romeen,

That's what one of my friend's father used to say before they got a lesson in "discipline". ;-)

So, how do you want to make this more interesting?

Anonymous said...

I can see picking a pretty reasonable MCC all-star side with Asif, Wade, Romesh Kadlec and Bhavneet in it... and maybe Kabir too

And Sharath can be the wicketkeeper. He's sure to set a bunch of personal milestones there. I'm sure he'll get his 2nd 'DUCK', of his entire cricketing career in the United States.

Anonymous said...

And then he'll brag about it on the blog :)

Aditya said...

Shekhs, Romo,

If you guys are looking for a good place, there's a bar in the West Loop called Beer Bistro with really good beer and a wide variety.

If you want a Hookah joint, then there's a place on Division and Damen called Sigara, or another one in the west loop called Naar Hookah.

Let me know, and I might join you guys for a bit.

Aditya said...

Now Tango, how do you know all that about Sharath??

Anonymous said...

I work in his department

Anonymous said...

But I get to use the internet, and he doesn't

Shekhs said...

Tango...you are so full of it..!!!
:-)

Unknown said...

Lets see, how about we you and I have predictions each week for 3 weeks. Whoever gets more predictions wrong treats everybody at the blog party. Sound good?

neanderthal_walking said...

tango,

leave sharath alone man. we dont have too many people here blogging as it is. so we dont wanna lose him too.

Unknown said...

tango can be our referee

Anonymous said...

ND,
doesn't matter man. He's not reading what I'm writing....remember, no internet access.

Unknown said...

Shekhs, lets do downtown then, adi will join us too

DeepDownWithin said...

Romeen downtown is tough for me this weekend. I will meet you all next time

Unknown said...

Adi, so what do you think of my offer to make it interesting?

Anonymous said...

BTW Romeen, you want me to be the ref?

Sure, I can do that.

ps. Shekhs, $50 and I'll declare you the winner.

Unknown said...

vetti, its not decided yet, if there arent enough ppl for downtown, we can meet anywhere where its convenient for the majority

Shekhs said...

Downtown it is then...

Sorry Vetti...try to make it..it aint so far..

Unknown said...

Tango, I think the most important thing about being a ref is to know who the playing parties are. The bet's between me and Adi. Shekhs can enter the contest if he wants to.

Anonymous said...

Oh Shit!

Ok Ok, Romeen, Give me $25. I'll reduce the price because I want to see Aditya lose. He's such a trouble maker.

neanderthal_walking said...

romeen,
why don't you and adi enter "the wet T shirt contest". i bet adi would beat you.

Shekhs said...

I dont even know what you guys are talking about..

I see my name being dragged around..sure, I'll take part, if it has nothing to do with anybody's ass and lawn mowers...

Unknown said...

And a lawn mower to boot

Anonymous said...

Wet T-Shirt concert? LOL!

You need man-boobs for those.

Unknown said...

OK guys, lets not digress here. Adi, are you up for the challenge or not?
I have predictions for this week, which you've completely (and foolishly) opposed.
Lets see what happens tonight. Then we'll come up with the next set of predictions.

DeepDownWithin said...

shek, i have to be in schaumburg for a party. Could have slipped out for some time if it was in schaumburg.

Shekhs said...

Vetti,
We'll see how the week goes..
So, you have to be a Tamilian...you from Chennai?

Aditya said...

Romeen,

Way to pick a stand up guy like Tango who clearly seems impartial! ;-) Great, now I can see why the stakes of the bet are so high!

neanderthal_walking said...

romeen,

why rn't ajit and satish not going to LA?

Anonymous said...

Because Ajit will test positive for steroids, and Satish doesn't like traveling with strangers.

neanderthal_walking said...

make sense. BTW romeen, did you see i'm in ur system buddy. i get inside info from CATS

Aditya said...

Tango, you are hilarious!

DeepDownWithin said...

Shek, I am from the land of Shivaji. :). n_w,everybody knows that Ajit and Satish are not going. :)

DeepDownWithin said...

romeen, how about guessing the team for la open???? whoever has the most no of players in his team, will get free beer that night(not this weekend)

Shekhs said...

Vetti,
How did you come up with a tamil nick? You speak Tamil?

Raheel said...

Shahid might not be going either (since last time I talked to him!).

Aditya said...

Romeen,

I'm up for the challenge, buit I'd like to change the terms of the wager. Paying for the entire blogging party and drinks, well, I'm not a Doctor! ;-)

Unknown said...

Maybe we should send Tango and n_w to LA.

neanderthal_walking said...

vetti,

i know u r from CATS but dont just jump to kiss BOSSs' ass :)))

Anonymous said...

What happened to Shahid? Did he get married or something?

naren said...

Vetti n Wildcats i dont think so... Romeen ur take

Unknown said...

OK, lets change the wager. You pick something.

naren said...

Aha Wagering Romeen n ur leaving me not on

neanderthal_walking said...

no ajit, satish, sahid? man MWCC gonna get their ass kicked so bad

Anonymous said...

Shahid is in bad form anyways. Satish is replaceable. Only guy that could have made a big difference was Ajit.

But if Satha and the rest of the guys decide to play, then we'll be in good shape.

Unknown said...

I dont think vetti is from my team.
But then I've been wrong before (man , where's my confidence these days?)

Anyway, I thought that was a pretty good idea from vetti.

Sheks, what does the name mean anyway?

Shekhs said...

n_w,
Regardless of who goes there, our asses are gonna be on a platter...

You are competing with a buncha professionals...they are practicing, as we blog...

I think the key is to represent...compete, get some experience and have fun..

I'm sure there are plenty of other good players in our league who can give a run for some good team's money..

Raheel, you going?

Unknown said...

Yes Naren, how could I forget the king of all wagers?
You wanna start compiling odds for all these predictions?

Unknown said...

Tango does have some pearls of wisdom squeezed into his comic routines.

Shekhs said...

Romeen,
Pasangals mean "people"

Vetti - I'm not quite sure...I think its more like bad asses...I made that up..
help..someone who knows Tamil..

Yeah, it was a good idea by Vetti..to guess the LA Open team..

naren said...

Sure that would be good enough Rom., i would need to please my cap to get bowling so anything for u sir... ;-)

Unknown said...

Adi, you actually working?
How many lawns do you have in your office, dude?

Unknown said...

C'mon Adi, come up with a new offer!

neanderthal_walking said...

shekhs said...
n_w,
Regardless of who goes there, our asses are gonna be on a platter...
---------------------------------

shekhs, you know, LA is known for its liking for asses on platter.....so good luck boys :))))
---------------------------
I think the key is to represent
----------------------------
thats right my brotha, represntZ and recogniZ.
-----------------
Raheel, you going?
-------------------

shekhs, now you cracking me up

Anonymous said...

Aditya, your a Bengali, stop acting like a Gujju. Spending a few bucks here and there won't make you poor.

Shekhs said...

Adi,
How much do you charge for a half acre yard...I haven't had my yard mowed in a while....

Unknown said...

Vetti, do you mean Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj or Sivaji Ganesan?

-Samarth.

Unknown said...

Sorry, Chevalier Sivaji Ganesan.

-Samarth.

Shekhs said...

You crack me up Samarth...you know how to spin more than a cricket ball..!!!

Good one!
:-)

Anonymous said...

His name is Villupuram Chinnaiahpillai Ganesan .

Damn! I wish I had a name like that.

Unknown said...

OK guys, excuse my ignorance, but can someone enlighten me please?
Samarth, mane taro joke samjhav dikra.

DeepDownWithin said...

shek, when i say Sivaji i am talking about the one and only one.. Thalaivar.. Rajni :))Vettipasangal means people who do not have anything to do. Naren, u r so new to mcc, how can u be so sure i am not from cats.

Unknown said...

Does this have something to do with the movie?

DeepDownWithin said...

shek, vonnake tamil terima?(do u know tamil)

Shekhs said...

Vetti,
Rajni is also from Maharashtra..he is a Gaekwad...

So are you talking about his current residence or where he originally from?

neanderthal_walking said...

ok vetti,

since you look like you know few things about inside info. why dont you give us ur team. then we guess ours.

DeepDownWithin said...

romeen.. all the southies here should be ashamed. you are absolutely right.

Anonymous said...

Romeen,
Sivaji Ganesan was a famous Tamilian actor. He was like the Rajni of the 70's and 80's.

Shekhs said...

Theriyum appa...theriyum..

oru varsham Chennayil irindittein..

Indira Nagar..

Anonymous said...

Actually more like the 50's and 60's

Raheel said...

yes I'm going (we're talking about tonight's match right? ;)).

Unknown said...

Thanks guys.
Who says the blog is only for entertainment, its educational too!

Anonymous said...

Shekhs said...

Romeen,
I thought it was funny how Samarth just came outta nowhere and talked about Sivaji Ganesan and then made him a Chevalier...thats impressive and funny...

Anonymous said...

Now I'm confused. Why should South Indians be ashamed?

naren said...

Vetti I was not really sure that is why i asked Romeen about his take.
I am new to MCC accepted but atleast not new to my team.

Unknown said...

Hey Raheel, good luck man!
Actually good luck to both the teams, especially the batsmen, they better get 400 runs on the board.
I dont feel like getting my lawn mowed.

Unknown said...

Naren, vetti's just yanking your chain, dont let him do it.

Shekhs said...

Raheel,
take it easy on us, especially this rookie... :-)

Yeah, I was talking about tonite too :-)

Unknown said...

Vetti, Rajni's appeal is universal. There is no "Rajni's land." From Japan to Jolarpettai, it is all Rajni's land.

Romeen, Chevalier Sivaji Ganesan was a legendary tamil actor from 50s, 60s, 70s, er... 80s, 90s, ...

-Samarth.

neanderthal_walking said...

naren,

stop calling it ur teams. its my team too

Aditya said...

Shekh, firstly, I don't mow yards, but for Romo I'll make the exception! And if yours is that bad, please don't share those details with us guys, and also please get professional help!

Unknown said...

Thanks Samarth, gotta google him.

DeepDownWithin said...

rajni sir is originally from maharashtra, was a bus conductor in bangalore, before becoming a superstar in tamilnadu and pretty much the whole world.

My team to LA:
Sohail, Satha, Bunty, amit, Maninder, jack, ashwin, pradeep, daxx, madhu, asif.
Kabir should be on it, but, I know TA has had an issue with him and will not be picked. Lets see you guys top this list

Raheel said...

Romeen, I'm gonna mow your ass ... 400 runs!?! You batsmen really have no consideration for the poor bowlers!

Unknown said...

Ok folks, gtg.
Hope to catch you guys soon.

naren said...

I guess he is/was Rekha's father..

Shekhs said...

Good one Adi..

I do need professional help...we'll talk about it this evening.

Aditya said...

Guys,

Can we stick to English, and maybe some hindi? I don't understand Gujju. Now you've gone Tamil on me! And there is noone to speak Bengali!

It's a lonely world for some of us! (Tango, head out of the gutter please:))

Shekhs said...

Naren,
That was Gemini Ganesan...Rekha's dad..
totally different person..

Aditya said...

Romeen,

I'm working on the wager. Thinking about it! You got any other ideas?

neanderthal_walking said...

vetti,

you got only 11. i think we can send 14.

Raheel said...

Aditya can we request subtitles?

neanderthal_walking said...

oh i loved rekha. those long legs......MMHHHMMMM

Aditya said...

Raheel, great idea!

Also, I'm with the bowlers on this one! Remember that when I have to face you!!!!

Had to be a batsman to come up with 400+ runs! No credit/respect for the bowlers!

straight_drive said...

hey NW tango whatsup. have we got any predictions going for night?

Shekhs said...

n_w,
so does the tandoori chicken @ Delhi durbar..

Aditya said...

Shekhs,

Some alcohol tonight to drown your sorrows... and Romo's! After he goes down in the prediction war!

naren said...

ya sure my bad Shekhs..

neanderthal_walking said...

SD,

we got a new game. guess the LA team. vetti is on now

Aditya said...

Shekhs, you're a funny guy. Sound very similar to Tango....... hmmmmm

straight_drive said...

oh i already know the la team im in mgmt ;).

Shekhs said...

no sorrows Adi, its all good, I'll drink win or lose....

I hope we can entertain y'all..

Raheel said...

I'm out too guys, see some of you tonight!

Shekhs said...

no worries Naren....I could be a gracious winner.. ;-)

neanderthal_walking said...

straight_drive said...
oh i already know the la team im in mgmt ;).

1:01 PM

---------------------

is that right? share with us SD

Aditya said...

Shekhs, I'm predicting a Challengers win! So no sorrows on that end. I'm talking about your "other" end!!!

I'm sure it will be entertaining.

straight_drive said...

oh hush! all i can say is you guyz will be surprised some of the players u might not expect at all.

DeepDownWithin said...

oops i did it again.. i left out the keeper. Sharath will not be considered since he played in Addi's team in the regionals, Anand played for Michigan in the regionals, Parikh may not be available due to family commitments.. Taylor it is. Satha can keep too, but is not as good as the ones mentioned above. I would have had Ajit, Shahid and Satish in the squad, but they are not available. I can only name a 13 as of now:
Sohail, Satha, Bunty, amit, Maninder, jack, ashwin, pradeep, daxx, madhu, asif, Taylor, Wade Allen
sohail and maninder will open. Satha will come one down, Ashwin at two, madhu at 3, amit at 4. daxx and allen will open, followed by pradeep and jack. asif and bunty will be the spinners.

Shekhs said...

Thanks for the support Adi..

You seem to have a liking for the other end..whats up with that?

Shekhs said...

My Team

Sohail, Satha, Bunty, amit, Maninder, jack, ashwin, pradeep, daxx, madhu, asif, Taylor, Nilesh, Nasir

neanderthal_walking said...

vetti,

you are way off.

neanderthal_walking said...

i wouldnt play three spinners, pradeep, bunty, asif and anyway i think bhavesh should go as the offie

DeepDownWithin said...

Shek, u stole my team and added Nilesh and Nasir :-))))) yes, they both deserve to go and so would wade. I would drop Pradeep(sorry) and bring Nilesh and Nasir to make it my 14.
Sohail, Satha, Bunty, amit, Maninder, jack, ashwin, Nilesh, daxx, madhu, asif, Taylor, Wade Allen, Nasir. No more changes from my side to the team above.

neanderthal_walking said...

shekhs,

are you guys playing full strength tonight? if so i would pick you to beat PAK with 30 run margin.

here is my prediction

CHALLENGERS bat first

154

PAK

120

PAK bat first

130

challengers

target in 18 overs with six wickets down

DeepDownWithin said...

nw lets hear from you. Lets see how off I am. Bhavesh cannot bowl at LA(from what happened last time he tried to) unless he changed his action.

Anonymous said...

Pradeep is a spinner?

neanderthal_walking said...

here is mine

Sohail, Satha, Bunty, tushar, Maninder, wade, ashwin, pradeep, daxx, madhu, asif, Taylor, Nilesh, jack

DeepDownWithin said...

why do u think pradeep spins?

neanderthal_walking said...

my bad slow bowler, he cant spin

Anonymous said...

I thought he was more of a weird action, medium pace bowler. He's pretty good none the less.

Anonymous said...

not slow, he's probably as fast as Nasir :)

Shekhs said...

n_w,
I think we got a full house tonite...

DeepDownWithin said...

nw you have tushar, pradeep, and I have amit,Nasir. You call that way off? You copied the rest from the team i put in

neanderthal_walking said...

i put my money on u brother. dont dissapoint me.

neanderthal_walking said...

vetti, my bad bro. u r not way off. i knew you know one or two things around here.

Anonymous said...

Sajay Patel is a GREAT 20-20 bowler.

Shekhs said...

I hope not....if I dont...you come up and say hi....and "What the Chuck"!!!..thats the code word..
:-)

neanderthal_walking said...

tango,

i think he just know how to use conditions at purdue. havent seen much of him in WP or hanover. decent bat though

Anonymous said...

Purdue ground is similar to our grounds in Washington Park. But I don't think he's a good bat for 20-20. If it were a 50 over game, then maybe.

neanderthal_walking said...

i would pick bhavesh ahead of him for LA

so vetti here is my new team

Sohail, Satha, Bunty, amit, Maninder, jack, kiran, bhavesh, daxx, madhu, asif, Taylor, Nilesh, Nasir

Aditya said...

Shekhs,

You were the one requesting your lawn to be mowed after a long time!! I just want you to not worry about the lawn, or the mower, and go out their and win the game! Prove Romo wrong!

DeepDownWithin said...

nw, Bhavesh as a batsman has been on the decline. I remember him hitting over extra covers, but people have figured him out. I will not give away his weakness to everybody. Bhavesh as a bowler was called for chucking in LA and he has not changed his action much. kiran is usually not available and hence was not picked in my team.

Shekhs said...

Peace out Adi..
Will try our best..

Catch you later...

DeepDownWithin said...

s_d, right now there is only TA in mgmt and we all know you are not him. Share your list.

neanderthal_walking said...

good one vetti,

who is secratary this year?

DeepDownWithin said...

nobody

Aditya said...

NW, playoff chances... did I change your mind?

Anonymous said...

Bhavesh won't get to bowl if he chucks. If he doesn't chuck, he'll get whacked. So no use of taking him. Plus, why do you want to play three spinners?

Nasir is a decent bowler, but he's not good enough to be on the LA open squad. Sajay Patel is a much better option. He was the MVP of last years Night tournament.

Aditya said...

By the way, Bola bowls some pretty decent left arm swing. Also, Jaggi is an ideal bowlers for the 20/20 tourney.

As a bowler, you're not looking to get wickets. You're looking to restrict the batsman. That is where Jaggi is most useful. That is something I would consider.

Also, for pace bowlers, I would not really go for bowlers who bowl fast and straight. There is nothing that is too fast for those guys. You want swing! So, Daxx, Sanjay, Nilesh are ideal. Other swing bowlers and economical bowlers should be high on the lists.

Anonymous said...

Jaggi is an ideal bowlers for the 20/20 tourney.

Rollin down the street, smokin indo, sippin on gin and juice
Laid back [with my mind on my money and my money on my mind]

DeepDownWithin said...

last year nasir was the best bowler we had.nilesh was not too far behind. jaggi is not good enough for la open . sanjay patel has lost steam this year. I agree with aditya that plain fast is not good enough. Shahid(doesnt swing) was expensive last year but was brilliant with the bat.

neanderthal_walking said...

so tango where is ur team

MastaKilla said...

Hey Aditya,

I have to get me a job where you work at becuase apparently they are paying you just for blogging? What do you do by the way?? Hey romeen are you guys practicing tommorow? i doubt it but thought i might as well ask. Alpesh waqar said to say hi to you as well and he is wondering if you are moving back to the chicago area or not anytime soon

DeepDownWithin said...

tango is smoking the joint with jaggi :))))

krazzy said...

Predication 4 week#1 of abid laheri night tornament.
1.Pak gym - Challengers. I think Challenger will win this one & take a revenge of their lost in last year day finals.
2.Chargers - Universal. Chargers will win it easily.

Anonymous said...

I think that kid from Purdue, CD, is a better bowler than Nasir. Although I won't take either of them on my squad.

Aditya said...

http://www.midwestcricket.org/asp/Score88.asp?id=1656

Anytime you give 7 or less per over in this format, you've done your job.

Tango, at least you have to agree that should be the strategy. Swing, movement, and economy.

Anonymous said...

My five bowlers will be

Raheel
Sanjay Patel
Nilesh
Asif
Bola

neanderthal_walking said...

brother tango, pleae share your elusive mind. put ur team here. :))

adi, lets see ur team too. anyway yes you have had me thinking about play offs. i would like to more open tourny like at least five spots are up for grabbing in play offs. lets play this weekend and revisit it

neanderthal_walking said...

raheel? tango imust disagree with you for once

Aditya said...

Masta,

I'm "working" from home today. So thought I'd add my 2 cents to the blog when applicable.

Aditya,

You forgot

Very convenient!

Listen dude, Jaggi is a good bat, a decent bowler, and a nice guy. But LA OPEN? Please!!!!!!!!!!

Out of his three games in last year Night Tournament, he only had one good game. That too against a super strong batting of MA LOYALS! :)

neanderthal_walking said...

Adi,

i cant believe u suggest jaggi. (i luv u jaggi) and next what you going to do? get jaggi to suggest you?

Anonymous said...

ND,
you right. Raheel is in pretty bad form himself. Maybe we can have Banda open the bowling?

neanderthal_walking said...

tango, marvalous!!! lets go banda, banda, banda........

Thanx for the heads up naren.

Masta, Either that, or I have a long lunch!

Tango, Oooops! Guess I left one scorecard out! ;-)

Seriously though, I just feel our strategy for the 20/20 is a bit off! Both on the bowling and batting end of it.

Aditya, kya kar rahe ho yaar. I am a good friend of yours, but doesnt mean that you throw me under the bus.:) If I were selector, I would not pick myself ahead of all the other talent we have.

I asked Sohail about the team and he has told me that the team will be announced by tonight. The new faces are Madhu,Bola, DAXX, Amit and Satha.

Guys, we need to start thinking about recording our games. DirecTV has started showing local games.

If that's the LA open team, I'm a little disappointed. A lot of those are deserving, but there are a few spots that, in my opinion, others deserve if they are available. If they were not available, then that's a different story.

Jaggi, just trying to make a point about the strategy to pick our LA Open team, as opposed to actually nominating you!! :-)

If the people you mention are in the team, then that sounds like a much better 20/20 team than the one Justice picked / suggested.

Please do a better job of saying that. I wouldnt want Tango, NW, Vetti etc ripping me apart :)

So Shekhs, you gonna call me from the park?
When the team batting first crosses 200, tell Adi I said hi.

Aditya i pick that team on the basis of how many of those players would league pick & as jaggi said that amit, satha & sohail are in that team so i already got my 3 kiss as* players. If i really wanna pick a team i think 70% of above mentioned player would not be in my team.

Justice_4_all,
Well said. And the MCC squad will look very similar to your squad.
I only disagree with one thing you've said. Satha is the top scorer in the league, and Sohail is also have a killer season, so we should leave them out of the ass-kisser category. Actually Sohail can be in the ass-kissed category :)

this is just disgraceful. who picked up this team?

night game pak vs challenger got rained out.
last score was 9.4 over pak were 96 for 3. pak need 96 runs in 62 balls. who will pull out the game in their favour. let's vote on who will win.

i think pak got it under contorl. they will chase it in 20th over with last wkt to go.

Is the team that was listed by justice 4 all the actual/final team thats going to LA?

Why the hell are there so many old guys going on this squad.... this 20/20 games require more younger all-rounders to play and they are the ones that will do well. We have enough really good young players in this league and yet we still decide to opt for the ones with the so called "experience". Don't get me wrong they are all fine players, however are not the perfect selection for 20/20 games and that too there are isnt much "recovery" time between games as compared to the 1-week luxury that these old players have in MCC to rest their aging bodies. Looks like we will never learn....

Shekhs and Romeen,

Vetti literally means useless and
pasangals means guys

together vettipasangals means useless guys.

So, next time, address him as VP, as opposed to vetti :)

I had two wrong predictions in my LA open team afroze and raheel. I dont think afroze will do well. Raheel will do well against other local american clubs but I am not very sure against professional clubs. Good luck to the team. Ram, Yepdi irkinge(howr u)
