Live Score Updates: Need your help

This weekend please send score updates to mcclive(at)googlegroups.com during and/or after your game. If you subscribe to the service you can get the live scores in your email as they come in. Otherwise you can see them on the top-right corner of the blog. Note that the subject line in your email is what we see on the blog. Thank You.

update: Since this did not work in the manner it was envisioned, I have removed this group from the blog.

Im guess Im expecting too much, but since my guess is that a significant number of people who visit this forum being involved in Information Technology, I'll throw it out there anyways ...

Its real tough to give updates on a website when ur out in the middle of washington park. Or check the google group ...

Is there a way by which people can 'text' the progress of their game to a 'group' of some sort, so the results get texted to the cell phone of all the people who choose to be in this group? Also, these texts could perhaps be logged onto a website for those at home?

Any IT - Communications guy with spare time on his hands and looking for a project?

Or maybe I've seen the Star Wars episodes one too many times ...

based on the results so far, I think our experiment has been an utter flop. Expecting the players to do anything is not practical. Texting the scores like Varad suggested may be easier since any cell phone can be used, but still it involves changing habits while out playing and that is not easy unless there is a really compelling incentive. Being able to get live updates would have been cool, but I cannot think of any practical solution apart from this experiment. At least we tried!
