I apologize for not answering some of the questions raised,it has been a week from hell at work and school.
Guys, I hate to make this announcement - the All-star game is called off for this year. I was not able to convince the management about the same.
Next year, the plan is to take a weekend off and play a mini-world cup.
Personally, I am disappointed that we wont have a game this year, but, I am looking fwd to the mini-world cup next season.
Shiraz's tournament should be fun. I think it will be great if we can mix and match players. Am looking fwd to it.
Jaggi Bhai, I am thoroughly disappointed. What was the reason given? It makes no sense.
I'm told that Burhani won the 30/30 final by 4 runs....last heard Capitol were 80 odd for 6 in 20 overs chasing 205...Satha gone for about 30 odd runs
Div 2 Finals: AAA won by over 100 runs
AAA DIV II Champs!!!!!!! way to go guys and congratulation to you guys. This is for you Abid bhai we really miss you and wish you were here with us today to raise that trophy high in the air. It was a truly inspirational performance by AAA to beat a Capitol that came out all guns firing during their batting. AAA won the toss (they always win the toss for some reason) and elected to bat first. Khalid Dadabhai came out blazing as he took the Capitol Bowlers to the Cleaners, he was especially harsh on Madan as his first three overs yielded 34 runs. At the other end Imran Taylor played the support role to perfection as he pushed for singles to get Khalid on Strike. AAA was like 65 for 1 in 10, the lone wicket of Khalid had fallen for 47 of 21 balls. AAA went in to the 20 over break at 105 for 2. Capitol did real well after the break as they kept picking up wickets at regular intervals and aside from a good knock by Bilal (38) and a useful contribution from Yusuf (13*) eveyone else batted poorly, and AAA was was held to 205 for 9 in 40 overs. Capitol sent the Midwest Bradman himself to open the innings as has been the case all season long and he got them off to a flyer as he scored a quick 31 but before he scored Hafez Adam was bowling a tight line and picked up two wickets after Ibrahim got the initial break through. But Satha was not fazed by the loss of these wickets as he hit paceman Ibrahim for a humongus six which bounced off the wall of the building with the restrooms. Then in the seventh over came what every AAA fan was waiting for, the big wicket of Satha. Hafez Adam bowled a perfect yorker that uprooted Satha's leg stump and the whole cheering squad went into a frenzy. After Satha and Madan ( who was LBW to a Khalid googly) were out it was just a formality to complete the game as Capitol was bundled out for 107 of 25 overs. Man of The Match Award went to a man that truly deserved it and congratulation to Hafez Adam Menk ( he scored 143 runs in three innings with 2 fifties in the playoffs with an absolutlely amazing average of 71.5 , he also had bowling figures of 23-4-8 and economy rate of 2.52. Congrats to Capitol on a well plyed game and Good luck to you guys next year. AAA, congratulations once again on a great season. Abid bhai you will always be with us in our hearts and duas.May Allah grant you jannah

Shiraz,
