ANON 12:08PM

are you referring to Faisal Nafasat, becuase Salman Nafasat is his brother and he doesnt bowl..

Hammad

Anonymous said...

true comment abt afroze siddiqui, he is a good player but too overrated, lot of people seem to just notice his performances Vs. DIVII teams or what he does in a 30/30 game or what he did in dallas, he hasnt really done anything in DIVI

Anonymous said...

I agree, I dont know how he got selected for LA open this year and last year

Anonymous said...

bcause he umpires 9 to 10 games every season...

hahahah

Anonymous said...

In that case, Sadiq should be the captain....

Anonymous said...

What abt Bhavesh of Chall? How did he go to LA?!

Anonymous said...

he is a very good player. sound technique with straight bat. whatelse would u want in a batsmen.

appreciate the good thgs abbt him. he is one of leagues best. admit it.

Rogers park

Anonymous said...

Well Bhavesh had a good average last season for the team with the best record in the league. He also is a pretty good bowler. So I can see why he would be selected.

Anonymous said...

i guess he paid for his own trip..., remember asmar last year going to the LA open, i also heard that he paid for his trip thats why he got to go..

Anonymous said...

i was talking abt afroz if there is any doubt

Anonymous said...

I think Bhavesh of Challengers flew to LA... What do you think?

Anonymous said...

who is most improved player this year and what about any new young potential guys

division 1 and 2

Anonymous said...

lol Rogers Park,
don't force it. Ajit Ramaswami and Kiran are two guys with sound technique not Afroze

Anonymous said...

many of PHNX players can be considered as imporved players,
imran of muslim...

dont knwo much abt DIVII

Anonymous said...

no afroze has good technique, hes a good batsman, cant argue abt his technique, but he needs to perfrom more with better bowling attacks..

Anonymous said...

most improved has to be Imran

Anonymous said...

heres one, do you think Bakshi Chug's(or throws) the ball a little, there is something definetly diff abt his action..??

Anonymous said...

Kiran is one batsman in the league who has a sound technique and an excellent shot selection.

Anonymous said...

Chug's? CHUCKS*

Anonymous said...

Wow..this is like the fastest written blog....there are posts every minite...oh wait more than one posts in a minute!

Anonymous said...

ya u get the point..right?

Anonymous said...

you aren't supposed to talk about Bakshi's bowling action or chuktion. Its forbidden!!!!!

Anonymous said...

this blog is treat at work, u never feel bored at aymore, thanks so much jaggii, lagay rahooo!!!!!

Anonymous said...

at work*

Anonymous said...

well everybody lets call on all those bowlers who u beleive chuck's...
lets see what interesting names come up...
Gotham from Late Meadows

Anonymous said...

Gotham City?

Anonymous said...

kiran stike rate is not satisfactoryu. just blocking the balls is also not a compact technique,. u need some kind od shots too.

Anonymous said...

gotham khera i belive that was his name...

Anonymous said...

don't like bowlers who chuck. Never have and never will. they need to get their action right ro stop bowling.
This excuse about this is how i have been bowling and no complaint is pure horse crap?. Well some is telling you now you chuuuuccckkk, so stop..
there is one player from royals. think his name is Roopesh.
He just blatantly pelt when he wants speed.

Anonymous said...

oh ya ur right, i remember this guy... he does he literally throws, man ur right now i remember, he should be stopped from bowling..

Anonymous said...

well if u stop Bakshi from bowling then Pak Gymkhana become pretty one dimensional. All they have are fast bowlers!!!!!

Anonymous said...

he should be stopped, im telling there is something suspect about his action, his release is not right..

Anonymous said...

so who are the best batsmen in the league?? I would like bowlers like Mehul, Raheel etc, to give their feed back who do they think are the toughest to bowl against. I am sure Shahid munir, Ajit (from wild cats) will be on top of that list!

Anonymous said...

well u better nto tell Irfan Sohail about that.

Anonymous said...

about what anon 1:39

Anonymous said...

I consider Ruchir one of the fastest bowlers in the league. I think ppl saying he is not quick may not have seen the Div 2 finals last year. He single turned the match around with his pace and accuracy.

Anonymous said...

about Bakshi and his bowling action.

Anonymous said...

Kiran is one of the most reliable batsmen in the league

Anonymous said...

Sohail Alvi, Kiran, Ajit, Shahid, Hasan are all up there IMO. Also I think Romeen has a very good technique.

-Raheel.

Anonymous said...

Will we ever get our ground back in washington park? It hardly gets used by the outside league. Why did we lose it in the first place?

Anonymous said...

My list of really good bastmen in MCC, (in no specific order)

Predictions for this weeks games,

Muslim v/s Chargers - Muslim
Flames v/s Tigers - Flames
Rivercity v/s Rogers Park - Rogers
Milwaukee United v/s Phoenix - MU
Bears v/s United - United
MilwaukeeCC v/s Wildcats - Wildcats
St. Louis CC v/s Pak - Pak
Purdue v/s Challengers - Challenger

What do you ppl think?

Anonymous said...

phoenix might upset MU and bears vs. united is 50% chance for both .
i agree with the rest of the predictions...

Anonymous said...

i know this one guy who bowls pretty quick. have seen him few times practicing at hannover park. i m not sure if he plays for division 1 or 2. i wish i could remember the name. he was bowling from may be like 15-18 yards. may be he is in division 2 but he looked quite quick.

mohsin

Anonymous said...

Its very hard to beat MU in Lincoln park. Especailly with the attack they have. Maybe in Washington Park or Hanover Park. MU looks like a very hard working team.

Anonymous said...

Rupesh from royals is quick too.

Anonymous said...

I can be quick too if I was allowed to chuck the ball ! :P

Anonymous said...

United v/s Bears -

United should win because they play well under pressure and they have Mehul, who has one of the best cricketing brains in MCC.

Rest of the bunch, except for Faisal, really lack people skills and worry too much about other things not concerning to cricket.

They should forget about all the other controversies and concentrate/enjoy their cricket. Maybe then they will emerge as champions that they used to be.

ALL THE BEST UCC

Anonymous said...

"I can be quick too if I was allowed to chuck the ball ! :P "

Now, why did I know that was
coming ....lol

Anonymous said...

Rupesh is not all that quick, he chucks as well.

Ramsundar Lakshminarayanan said...

Mohsin - is he left arm or right arm and on what days have u seen him?

Anonymous said...

Must be Bakshi or gotham khera...

Anonymous said...

Out of all the bowlers I have faced so far, Shahid Munir and Satish Reddy are the quickest. However, with their run ups, you know that it's coming express. It's bowlers like Rashid khan that are decieving. He just takes a two step start and deliver it very fast. It almost comes as a surprise because of his age, body and run up. Same thing with Muhammad Arshad of Muslim Gymkhana.

Anonymous said...

he is right arm and i am not even sure if i have seen him playing ay game in division2. he must be then in division 1 or not playing at all. i can assure you that he was very quick of the pitch.

Anonymous said...

Muslim v/s Chargers - Muslim
Flames v/s Tigers - Tigers
Rivercity v/s Rogers Park - Rogers
Milwaukee United v/s Phoenix - MU
Bears v/s United - Bears
MilwaukeeCC v/s Wildcats - Wildcats
St. Louis CC v/s Pak - Pak
Purdue v/s Challengers - Purdue

Anonymous said...

may be tuesdays, wednesdays or sometimes thursdays
its towards the end of weekdays, he normally shows up,.

Anonymous said...

i think he is in division 2. i m quite sure. he has not played many games yet. soon will everybody see him

Anonymous said...

"he is right arm and i am not even sure if i have seen him playing ay game in division2....."

I think I know who you are talking is he the one who practices with wildcats or flames or united at hanover park... I think he plays with flames ... his name is Zeeshan Khan....

Anonymous said...

Muslim v/s Chargers - Muslim
Flames v/s Tigers - Tigers
Rivercity v/s Rogers Park - Rogers
Milwaukee United v/s Phoenix - MU
Bears v/s United - Bears
MilwaukeeCC v/s Wildcats - Wildcats
St. Louis CC v/s Pak - Pak
Purdue v/s Challengers - Purdue

i think however that flames should win against tigers. tigers have not won too many games.

Anonymous said...

no he is a carribean guy

Anonymous said...

Tigers should win easily.
Flames doesn't have much of a team this year.
They have been just plain lucky or have played lesser teams.

Anonymous said...

that was me.

mohsin

that guy is carribean and he is very tall

Anonymous said...

flames are pretty decent. they r not too good but not too bad either. they shd beat tigers.
they beated united too. i am not sure if its luck. we will see in next few games

Anonymous said...

United lost to flames because of dropped catches and cheating by flames

Anonymous said...

flames is a presidenst team and they have full support of league umpires.
if some one looks at their night schedule, u can clearly see that they have week teams in their groups.
i am very sure that president wants his team in playoffs either by hook or crook so be careful teams who have games againts flames. don,t be surprised if u get out lbw even if u hit the ball with bat.

Anonymous said...

"flames are pretty decent. they r not too good but not too bad either. they shd beat tigers."

Flames is just Kiran and Nasir. Their batting collapses when kiran is out and bowling is over when nasir is tired, i.e after 4 balls of his first over

Anonymous said...

yeah i agree with that....lol

Anonymous said...

I think Purdue and Challengers
Milwaukee United and Phoenix
are the games to watch this weekend.

Nothing exciting about Pak and St Louis game. It wont be entertaining. But Purdue/Challengers and Milwaukee United/Phoenix will be lots of fun.

Phoenix guy.

Anonymous said...

does everyone think flames schedule is generally easy teams atleast in night games and do u guys think that sometime umpire gives decision in their favors.

i can promise you that rogers park would have beated flames if umpires had not given wrong decisions.
conclusion: they r ok but they also have support of umpires

fan of cricket

Anonymous said...

We are gearing up to beat Milwaukee United this week. Watch out Phoenix is coming!!

Anonymous said...

"Flames is just Kiran and Nasir. Their batting collapses when kiran is out and bowling is over when nasir is tired, i.e after 4 balls of his first over
"

thats funny and true..lol...

This year even kiran is not playing well must be the pressure of leading a sorry bunch or losers.. ZING

Anonymous said...

Flames cheatd with United? Can somebody explain what happened and how come nobody brought it up? Considering Adnan in that team, this should have been all over cricket web sites that President's team cheated with United.

Anonymous said...

rogers park the biggest cheaters in league

Anonymous said...

Why are we talking abt flames and united they are both not making the play-offs. Both love controversy and are bad teams lead by bad captains

Anonymous said...

yea lets talk about pak gym again ... was there any controversy in the night match vs united?

Anonymous said...

Flames should be called "MCC Presidents XI" not to the confused by the MCC Presidents XI in Melbourne Australia

Anonymous said...

I agree..flames cant even complete 11 players this season, they played with 8 players against Milwaukee united.
Nasir cant even finish his first over with full run up, it shortens with every delivery he bowls. Flames and play offs...HAHA..

Anonymous said...

who has got the best reputation as a team and worst as a team.

worst forsure has to be pakgymkhana. undoubted champiions for now as many years as they r playing cricket. shahid may be the best allrounder but he is also very illmannered and rude. afterall cricket is not just what goes in the field, its also about the attitude of players and team as a whole.

when was last time we saw a post by pak gymkhana player appreciating any opposition player.

not sure about the best though.

ur opinions

Anonymous said...

Bears showed flames and nasir were the really stand, i.e. in division II. hahaha

Bears are the team to look out for

Anonymous said...

Yea, I do not know who decided to take Nasir to LA.

Can Tushar or somebody tell how he did in LA cup (somebody who went to LA, )?
He cant even get any wickets here in Div 1 or when he played in Div 2, imagine him bowling to international players..haha

Anonymous said...

Dude you are one sorry person in this world. Atleast show some respect for teams and their players. For records, there was no cheating in Flames vs United. Flames played better cricket that day and won.

Guys, Please refrain from making comments with United's name on it if you are not from United CC. All United players have enough integrity to reveal themselves when writing on this blog. The comments involving Adnan vs Flames on this blog are down right stupid and irrisponsible. There is no animosity between United and any other team in this league. People should quit firing thier guns on other peoples shoulders.

I seriously doubt that.

On the same logic, Chicago teams win in Chicago on their home grounds and get their ass kicked when they go out of town to St.Louis or Milwaukee!!
Heh heh.

oh by the way , why is Rivercity down at the botton of the table..they play all their games in their home ground and why is the other Milwaukee Team struggling, they also play in their home ground...screwed up AH.

People! What is with all this bitterness and animosity against players / teams? Why hatred? I'm sure there are only 2-3 trash talkers on here who just do it for the fun of it! First they were after Pak Gym and Raheel, now its Flames and Nasir and even Bears are being dragged in the mud. Can't we have a constructive discussion about anything?

Mr. genius, chicago tems don't have any home advantage because they play in chicago against teams who are also from chicago so the home advantage cancels out.

And plz don't mention teams like milwaukee CC, they got out on 24 once...there's no point compring them to rest of the division 1 teams. btw, rivercity was number 3 in the points table last year but got their behind whooped in the very first playoff game...

That comment about teams from India and Pakistan was in bad taste. Please don't start that here.

to interrupt everybody's flow of thoughts for a purely selfish reason, any tips/ pointers about milwaukee CC specific players/ ground conditons, etc?
i did put my 2 cents in about the list of players before but it must be my computer unsavviness that screwed things up, i'm beginning to realize i'm denser than the heritage park outfield!
not heard from tushar and sadiq lately( i guess they like their job more than i do ):)raheel, hope you feel better soon.asmar, thats nice of you to own up.

Chicago Giants vs. Evanston: My $0.02 worth...

Obviously, this whole situation is awkward for me, given that I am a player on the Giants team, as well as a member of the MCC management team.

Evanston and the Giants have had a number of very good games over the years, and always in the best spirit. It is unfortunate that this one had to end this way. Magnus is a great guy; he has done a lot for the MCC over the years, and I have always had the greatest respect for him and his knowledge of the game.

He and I decided that he should umpire the game -- this was probably a mistake because even the best job done by him can be interpreted as being tainted by a conflict of interest. It would be very much like me umpiring the same game as an MCC official (that is, if I knew anything about umpiring).

At any rate, there were a number of calls made that the Giants disagreed with. I will not share my personal thoughts on the correctness of those calls. But, it did get to a point where the Giants felt that the situation had become unacceptable. As a senior member of the team, my suggestion to my fellow Giants was to walk off, rather than have the situation degenerate. The rules are fairly clear... the team that walks off loses the game. Evanston has been awarded the 4 points and that's that. Both teams played well, and someone had to win.

There's a lesson in this for the management (mostly myself, as the Div II VP). We'll take those lessons to heart, and continue trying to make the rest of the season enjoyable.

As a member of the Giants, I would like to wish Evanston the best, and look forward to meeting them in the playoffs (if we make it that far). Then, I'm sure both teams will try their best to put the shadow of the past game behind us, and just play for the fun of it.

We're all far too old (well, at least I am), and have far too many other things in life to worry about, to take this game that seriously.

Raheel said...

Aditya,

I was indeed describing Whitewater ground when you asked about Lindsay Park - thats where all MUCC games take place (when it's available, otherwise Lincoln Park, where Milwaukee CC play).

Nasir,

Sweet n sour? Try not to think about food all the time!;)

Raheel said...

Well Mr. FS, you wouldn't know about stamina now would you - having to bowl spin from 2 paces!

Raheel said...

"Its time you realise that stamina doesn't matter that much its more related to talent, skill and BRAINS (which you lack)."

If you think it doesn't matter, then why are you goin on about it? And I'm perfectly ok with the state of my brain, how's yours? or where's yours would be a more appropriate question;).

Ramesh Thyagarajan (Eagles) is a good slip catcher.

i agree with "anonymous" that having anon comments is helpful in terms of getting more participants and certainly contributed to a wider range of ideas being voiced. Not everyone is comfortable posting sharp opinions even under a fake name if that means they have to register somewhere with a valid email address. Its not fun for me to have to keep deleting ugly posts.

I will be away until the 14th and Jaggi will be at the controls. So, if you see any problems here, you know who to curse!

Jaggi said...

I have not had a chance to check all the posts(was travelling on work). Couldnt believe that we had about 200 comments in one day.
I did see a comment about Heritage Park. Just to clarify, the park district does cut the grass very regularly. The problem is that the grass is pretty thick at Heritage Park. They cant go any deeper as that will burn the grass in this hot sun.
The other grounds have good outfields. If they dont, please send an email to(management@midwestcricket.org)or use the Request system on the website.
PS: The blog should not be used for any official communication between teams or between the team and management.

Jaggi said...

Athreya, from Tigers, is a good slip fielder. Outfield - Shailesh from Tigers has good pair of hands and very good technique. Though most Wildcats players are good catchers, SP has to be the best in the outfield.

Another interesting thing to find out is who has the best throwing arm. Couple of years, I saw TarunReddy throw from the deep and he always managed to throw it to the the keeper with very minimal effort. Vinod, from Tigers, has a great arm.

Romeen.. I like your suggestion of mixing players in the night tournament.

Ramsundar Lakshminarayanan said...

Jamal Jehangir (currently on Arsenal roster), whom I played with in erstwhile Naper CC has a very good arm...apart from his pace...one of the best in Div 2. He is not playing this year, though.

Two from Eagles (Ganesan Giridharan and Sunil Sejwal) have good throwing arms. Infact, one of the oldest member of our side is Sunil and he is the fittest too. Kind of like Azhar and Robin Singh during their sunset years ..oldest members, but the most fittest.

Romeen - u have an excellent suggestion.

Jaggi said...

Romeen.. you guys have always caught well against us :)

It is very frustrating to not be able to play. The catch against Muslim Gymkhana(of Imran) that I dropped, did in reality break my thumb. I continued playing with a swollen/broken finger and now am paying the penalty for it. Out of action for a month(have not played the last 3 weekends).
What I was told was that an injury to the thumb, if not taken care of, can lead to arthritis. Any docs in the league that can confirm this?
