Yes, if we can find a lot of people to agree, finding a ground should not be a problem. If nothing we can play at comissioners park, naperville or the temple ground in aurora. But we need to plan this properly to make it happen. So first things first. Guys please mark your availability.
What we should also do is include people who read the blog but dont necessarily write. They can contact one of us any which way they like. That way some of the nicks can play too without revealing their identity.
Vetti, maybe next time you can play for us and take over captaincy. I'm sure your wisdom on the field would be much appreciated.

The issue I foresee would be that every weekend before the playoffs, somone or the other will have a game. Do you think we can ask management to give us one of the weeknights so we can play a 30 over night game? Or how about during the long weekend?
Day/Night long weekend would be fantastic. But how many have already made plans ? Long weekend is always an iffy thing. The 10 who said yes so far..can you please let us know which weekends you will not be available. Obviously we want everybody to play, so we can adjust.

shek..am not putting all blame on Aditya, rup and jack bowled terrible lengths, too full or too short and width. but he should have changed bowling attack to use madhu and fully use spinner. it is frustrating for spectator when captain and bowlers are not using head. as spectator, i need good entertainment and i thought this game would be good bcos there was a lot of talent from div-2 against div-1.

Playoffs dates not scheduled and I am sure once we approach management the they will be considerate with us. Afterall we bloggers shine most on a daily basis.
Preetam, They are just high-res scanned images files with album art stuff...They are compressed using WinRAR..Its complete COLLECTION! with each folder named after each Title..You can either color print it out..or just lay em in any img viewer software zoom it and read it..Its cool!
Oh Ok. I was thinking they made cartoon dvds of Tintin and Asterix. Anytime I go to india i go to Walden, somajiguda and get them. Now my print collection is complete. I am looking for Bahadur and the red bricks house. If anybody has it.

Roti-channa is the start. Ram, Samarth was not there at the game between Chal n Horizons, atleast i did not see him, so he might not be Vetti, then coming to Wildcats we are not practicing on Thursdays because of the ground being used for baseball for quiet sometime n hmm i can smell something here... I kind of think i know this guy...
Count me in for a game. Also if you guys want to play on one of the Thursdays at Hanover Park, I think I can make arrangements for a 20/20 ona Thursday. There might be some cost associated with it and I think I can ask the league to contribute as well as the players who will play. Let me know if that works out for you guys. We can schedule something Thursday the 23rs ot Thursday the 30th of August. I can make arrangements for the Ground and give you guys an update by tomorrow.

predictions 4 week #16 in div 1. 1.Rogerspark-bears.( it's a must win game for rogerspark & bears looks in a good nick too after beating st.louis.This is goin to be a good game but in the end rogerspark will end up winning). 2.MUCC-Capitol.( i take MUCC in this one). 3.United-AAA.( i will take united here). 4.Purdue-Royals.(If purdue still in the play-off in the other league i think they will bench the starting line-up again so i will pick Royals in this one). 5.Challengers-Pak gymkhana.(i think this must be the game of the week bcoz challenger is willing to take a revenge of last year final's lost & pak trying hard to be in the play-off race i will put my money on challengers on this one). 6.Mcc-Muslim gym.( i will take Muslim in this one).

Seriously, though, lets get one person to take responsibility and a few others to help him out. Looks like Romeen is the owner of this one, with Shekhs, Naren, and Shiraz helping out.
Romeen, let us know if you need more help and I'll be glad to volunteer. Also, we can only have 22 people playing + 1 ump - so 23. I've heard more than 23 names being thrown about, so how are we gonna pick if we have more people available? I think we should consider roles and ensure we have enough bowlers, keepers, etc. Apart from the ground, we need a white ball as well.
Keep us posted committee. Also, are we doing 20/20 or 30/30?
Just spoke with Shiraz. He's very keen too. Here are a few of my suggestions, please feel free to chip in. 1. Thursday night, Shiraz is working on ground availability and dates.Will keep you posted. 2.30-30 would be better, so everybody gets a chance to do something. 3.If we have more than 23 people, we can have a supersub or some such rule. I guess the idea is to get together and have a good time, so the atmosphere will be more laidback. Ofcourse, we dont intend to make a mockery of the game, we'll play hard, but the emphasis will be on mingling and fun. 4. And yes, there will be some cost involved.

It seems not enough interest left in the bloggers at this time of the year about the upcoming matches. Is this true or everybody busy planning for a weekend getaway or scratching heads to fillup the timesheets ?
IIT vs Advancers = IIT wins this - Advancer's have couple of good spinners but they are not as good as it is made it out to be.
SIUE vs Springfield = SIUE - If they show up to the ground.
Chicago Cricket Club vs Tigers = Chicago Cricket Club wins this.
Continental vs Eagles = Eagles will upset the in form Continental.
Madison Cricket Club vs Universal Cricket Club = Madison wins this.
West Suburban XI vs Illinois Cricket Club = Illinois wins provided they show up on the ground. Contrary to what Rup feels about hanging it up / doom and gloom. They have a very good chance for making playoff if they can win there remaining games.
Chicago Acers vs Chicago Giants = Giants wins this - Even though Faraz Durrani Acers Captain has promised a upset.
CCI vs Jaguars = Jaguars wins this against trash talking CCI. Rumor has it that Jags will be in CCI's face and ears from the first ball.
Peoria Cricket Club vs Warriors = Warriors will not show up to the ground and Yes I mean PCC wins with a walkover. I am still puzzled how Warriors beat Arsenal earlier this year.
Q.C. Kings vs Raiders = QCK will loose 2 of there remainign 3 games. I have a feeling that Raiders will upset QCK this week.
Collinsville Club vs Evanston = Evanston has always had problem playing away from there home ground and this is one of those cases Collinsville Wins.

puppu..i hope you are wrong about QC team, but based on their last year performance usually they suck towards the end of the season. Interesting to see how long they perform like this.
We might not only have to pay for the ground but we also need to organise the basic kit...wickets...balls...cones...drinks during breaks...food. All this might cost us some rupees. We will try to pool and do something. Thursday is fine with me as long as MOST of us can play that day. Madhu, try to make it to just this one. Nari, I haven't seen a mallu store around Palatine/ Shaumburgh area... There is one in Des Plaines - By the intersection of golf and Milwaukee - PNP or P&P...its in the strip mall on the north-east corner...

You got this right already! We received a walk over already. It was nice that Sabbir Ahmed (Warriors Cap) responded right away and let us know in well in advance. We appreciate it and I thank him for that.
I do understand little about team logistics and its pretty tough if you don't have big roster and motivated players on the team to play week-in and week-out. I hope warriors are able to work out something for everyones benefit either rest of year or next year. walk-overs isn't fun way of playing cricket and also it isn't fun especially to the receiving teams!

ReplyDeleteshek..am not putting all blame on Aditya, rup and jack bowled terrible lengths, too full or too short and width. but he should have changed bowling attack to use madhu and fully use spinner. it is frustrating for spectator when captain and bowlers are not using head. as spectator, i need good entertainment and i thought this game would be good bcos there was a lot of talent from div-2 against div-1.

ReplyDeleteThey are just high-res scanned images files with album art stuff...They are compressed using WinRAR..Its complete COLLECTION! with each folder named after each Title..You can either color print it out..or just lay em in any img viewer software zoom it and read it..Its cool!

There might be some cost associated with it and I think I can ask the league to contribute as well as the players who will play. Let me know if that works out for you guys. ReplyDelete1.Rogerspark-bears.( it's a must win game for rogerspark & bears looks in a good nick too after beating st.louis.This is goin to be a good game but in the end rogerspark will end up winning).
2.MUCC-Capitol.( i take MUCC in this one).
3.United-AAA.( i will take united here).
4.Purdue-Royals.(If purdue still in the play-off in the other league i think they will bench the starting line-up again so i will pick Royals in this one).
5.Challengers-Pak gymkhana.(i think this must be the game of the week bcoz challenger is willing to take a revenge of last year final's lost & pak trying hard to be in the play-off race i will put my money on challengers on this one).
6.Mcc-Muslim gym.( i will take Muslim in this one).
guys i would love to play in the bloggers game also. i have been quite this year cuz i got into a lot of shit for talking too much on the blog last year. Seriously, though, lets get one person to take responsibility and a few others to help him out. Looks like Romeen is the owner of this one, with Shekhs, Naren, and Shiraz helping out.
Romeen, let us know if you need more help and I'll be glad to volunteer. Also, we can only have 22 people playing + 1 ump - so 23. I've heard more than 23 names being thrown about, so how are we gonna pick if we have more people available? I think we should consider roles and ensure we have enough bowlers, keepers, etc. Apart from the ground, we need a white ball as well.
Keep us posted committee. Also, are we doing 20/20 or 30/30?
Just spoke with Shiraz. He's very keen too.

1. Thursday night, Shiraz is working on ground availability and dates.Will keep you posted.
2.30-30 would be better, so everybody gets a chance to do something.
3.If we have more than 23 people, we can have a supersub or some such rule. I guess the idea is to get together and have a good time, so the atmosphere will be more laidback. Ofcourse, we dont intend to make a mockery of the game, we'll play hard, but the emphasis will be on mingling and fun.
4. And yes, there will be some cost involved.
don't forget preetam's contribution... if there are more than 22, the more active blogger should get first chance.

ReplyDeleteTonald, Rivercity is basically Jollyrovers team from DIV II. They have couple of big hitters like Ram and Ravi patel. Prashanth is a good batsman too.
ReplyDeleteBowling is decent but not unplayable. Ravi is a left arm medium fast bowler and mostly others are spinners.

Chicago Cricket Club vs Tigers = Chicago Cricket Club wins this.
Continental vs Eagles = Eagles will upset the in form Continental.

West Suburban XI vs Illinois Cricket Club = Illinois wins provided they show up on the ground. Contrary to what Rup feels about hanging it up / doom and gloom. They have a very good chance for making playoff if they can win there remaining games.
Chicago Acers vs Chicago Giants = Giants wins this - Even though Faraz Durrani Acers Captain has promised a upset.
CCI vs Jaguars = Jaguars wins this against trash talking CCI. Rumor has it that Jags will be in CCI's face and ears from the first ball.
Peoria Cricket Club vs Warriors = Warriors will not show up to the ground and Yes I mean PCC wins with a walkover. I am still puzzled how Warriors beat Arsenal earlier this year.
Q.C. Kings vs Raiders = QCK will loose 2 of there remainign 3 games. I have a feeling that Raiders will upset QCK this week.
Collinsville Club vs Evanston = Evanston has always had problem playing away from there home ground and this is one of those cases Collinsville Wins.

We might not only have to pay for the ground but we also need to organise the basic kit...wickets...balls...cones...drinks during breaks...food. All this might cost us some rupees. We will try to pool and do something.

There is one in Des Plaines - By the intersection of golf and Milwaukee - PNP or P&P...its in the strip mall on the north-east corner...
I'll check with some local resources about other mallu stores...

You got this right already! We received a walk over already. It was nice that Sabbir Ahmed (Warriors Cap) responded right away and let us know in well in advance. We appreciate it and I thank him for that.
I do understand little about team logistics and its pretty tough if you don't have big roster and motivated players on the team to play week-in and week-out. I hope warriors are able to work out something for everyones benefit either rest of year or next year. walk-overs isn't fun way of playing cricket and also it isn't fun especially to the receiving teams!
